Chapter Twenty-One
Dillon rolled over in the bed expecting to feel Georgie’s body, but was surprised to find her not there. He opened his sleepy eyes and saw Georgie standing out on the balcony wrapped in her turquoise silk robe. Dillon pulled on a tee shirt and a pair of sweats and walked out to meet her.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her shoulder, “Good morning,” he murmured. He kissed up the side of her neck, down her jaw line and finally meeting her lips. Georgie turned around and wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close to deepen the kiss. She pulled away after a moment just smiling. “Morning, Happy Birthday,” she whispered
“Thank you,” he kissed her soft shoulder. “So, how are you?” Dillon asked her, staring into her eyes.
“Perfect,” she whispered, grinning, but her grin soon dropped and she looked panicked, “How are you? Honestly were you umm…” she asked him in return, blushing at her loss for words.
“Satisfied?” he said with a laugh, and Georgie put her face into his chest. “Georgie, I couldn’t be better,” he pulled her close in a hug.
She buried her face in his chest and rested her cheek on his shoulder. “It’s just I had no clue what to do and you’ve been with Sage, hence Mia, and you weren’t a virgin and I was and oh my god I need to shut up and stop rambling. I’m sorry,” she began to walk away when Dillon took her arm and pulled her back into his grasp.
“Hey, hey, hey, Georgie, yes I was with Sage and yes I’m not a virgin, but last night, something happened inside of me. I don’t know how to describe it. It was different then it was with Sage. When I was with her, it was just purely sex; pity sex to try and get over you, not one of my proudest moments. But last night, I made love to you. And I knew that when I made love for the first time it would be different, my emotions would be in it and they were. If I could I would take back that night with Sage, believe me. But last night, you made me feel incredible in every way possible,”
“Really?” she asked timidly.
“Yes, Georgie, yes, of course, I love you,” he captured her lips right away. “If you want, you can make me feel that way again…” he trailed off. Georgie smiled seductively and pulled his arm back into the hotel room.
“Georgie,” Dillon whispered. He nudged her cheek with his nose. She stirred and rolled over to look at him, “Yeah…” she mumbled, waking up. He sounded worried.
“You do know that this trip wasn’t for us to have sex, right? It was just time to spend together alone without everything in Port Charles. I don’t want you to think this was some kind of trick to get you into bed,”
Georgie looked into Dillon’s big brown eyes and smiled, “I made the plans to go away for the weekend. I knew that this might happen. I wanted to make love last night. You didn’t pressure me or anything like that,” she kissed his nose.
He laughed and wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close to his chest. “I love you so much,”
“I love you,” she murmured.
Dillon looked at the digital clock and saw that it was late morning. “Oh we should get up and pack. Check out is in an hour and a half,”
“I don’t want to get up,” Georgie snuggled into the pillows pretending to be asleep.
Dillon kissed her shoulder, “Come on, we have to,” Dillon climbed out of bed walked towards the shower. “If you want to save some time and maybe head to Central Park and lunch before our flight leaves, you can, hop in the shower with me,”
Georgie raised an eyebrow and climbed off the bed with the sheet around her. “Well, I guess we could, since we’re saving time and it’s good for the environment. Ya know, saving water and all,” she explained sultry. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close into a passionate kiss.
“Ok, then,” Dillon added, “But you’re going to have to lose this,” Dillon grabbed the sheet from her and she squealed as he pulled her into the bathroom.
“Happy Birthday to you,” Georgie sang, sipping the frozen hot chocolate drink from Serendipity.
“Thank you, this weekend was amazing. Thank you for all of this. I love you,” he took her hand and kissed it.
“We both needed to get away. And prom is next week. And school isn’t getting any easier even though the year is ending and I know you’ve been working a lot with Sonny and Jason,” Georgie said, taking a bite of your meal, “What is going on anyway with Sonny and Jason and you?”
Dillon sighed, “Georgie you know I can’t discuss that with you, I’m sorry,” he gave her a half smile.
Georgie nodded, understanding, “I know, I know, it just isn’t anything dangerous is it?” Worry was in her eyes.
“Georgie, my job is dangerous no matter what I do. But I’m not in as deep as Jason is. I’m usually around for computer stuff and backup,” Dillon explained.
“Just please be careful,” Georgie pleaded. Dillon took her hands in his and kissed her fingertips. “I will, I promise. I have too much to come back home to. If you haven’t noticed, you and Mia are my whole life. I get up just for you two. I promise I will always come home to you two, you’re kind of stuck with me,” Dillon laughed.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she leaned in and kissed him.
“Thank you,” Georgie, smiled at the vendor and carried a soft pretzel over to Dillon, “Here you go,”
He grabbed it greedily from her and chomped off a big bite. “Yum,” he commented with his mouth full of food.
“You have mustard on your cheek,” Georgie giggled. She leaned in and kissed it off. “Slob,” she teased.
“Hey, but you love this slob,” Dillon smiled.
“Yeah, I do,” Georgie said. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a sweet kiss.
“Last call for flight leaving for Port Charles, New York,” the stewardess said into the microphone.
Georgie pulled away and sighed, “I guess our romantic getaway is over,” she pouted.
“Yeah,” Dillon returned the sigh, “But it was fun. And it doesn’t have to end. Have you ever heard of the mile high club?” he laughed, totally teasing her.
Georgie’s eyes grew big and she smacked Dillon’s chest, “Dillon! What kind of girl do you think I am?”
“My girl,” he kissed her again. She giggled and pulled away. They grabbed their bags and headed through the gates.

Chapter Twenty-two
“Come on, Georgie, sit still. I can’t do you make up if you keep fidgeting,” Carly told the teen.
“Sorry, it’s just I’m so nervous about tonight,” Georgie explained and nibbled on an animal cracker.
Sam held Mia in her lap and fed her some crackers as well. Her pregnant stomach was getting very large as she was seven months pregnant with twins. “Georgie, I’m sure everything will be fine. Just relax. It’s just Dillon,”
“Well, I know it’s just Dillon but I just want prom to be perfect. We’re kind of on this high of happiness. I mean we head to New York for a wonderful weekend and now prom a week later, I just don’t want this to be ruined,” she explained.
“Since this is Dillon, I’m sure he’ll make sure nothing goes wrong tonight. It’ll be better than perfect,” Carly finished Georgie’s makeup. “Alright, let’s get you into your dress,”
Carly picked it up off the chair in her bedroom and held it over Georgie’s head. “Now, Georgie, now I’m warning you that this is going to sound like a lecture, and it kind of is, but you and Dillon don’t have to have sex on prom night. It’s alright not to and wait. Waiting is ok. Remember what happened from not waiting,” She picked Mia up and dangled her in front of Georgie who laughed.
“I know, Carly, I know. Dillon and I have been careful. I mean we’ve only made love twice and that was last weekend in New York. Don’t worry; we won’t be some over hormonal teenagers. Dillon knows what can happen from rushing things. Isn’t that right, our little happy accident,” she cooed at Mia. The baby giggled as Sam tickled her sides.
“I’m sure you two do, you’re responsible and I just wanted to give the talk since your mom and Mac aren’t around,” Carly added.
“Thanks, I really appreciate it,” she hugged her two friends. Georgie placed her diamond earrings in her ears and the pearl bracelet from Dillon on her wrist and her locket on her neck.
She turned around to face her three friends. “Well?” she asked, biting on her bottom lip. The dress fell down her body and her curves. It looked amazing.
Carly and Sam both sat on the bed speechless. The only one who made noise was Mia who giggled and cooed in Sam’s arms.
Carly stared at Georgie, a little teary-eyed. “You look gorgeous,” she said simply.
The dress was made of navy blue silk with two straps that went over one shoulder and separated in the back. The a-line skirt was pleated at the bottom. A small train fell behind her.
“Really?” Georgie turned to look at her self in the mirror.
“Yes, Georgie, you look beautiful. You’re going to make Dillon drool,” Sam laughed.
“Speak of the devil,” Carly muttered at the doorbell. She walked out of her bedroom and into the living room to get the doorbell. Dillon stood outside in the hallway in his tuxedo. “Well, don’t you look handsome,”
“Why thank you,” Dillon flashed her, a smile.
“Georgie will be out in a minute if you want to wait,” Carly said. She and Dillon walked into the door. Dillon sat down on the couch and tapped his fingers on the corsage box.
Georgie walked out of the bedroom. Dillon stood up and gazed at her. “Gosh she was gorgeous,” ran through Dillon’s head.
“You’re stunning, timeless,” was all he could mutter.
Georgie giggled and kissed his cheek. “You look pretty handsome yourself, Mister,”
“Why thanks, I styled my hair myself,” Dillon gloated, pretending to be smug. Georgie laughed and kissed him again.
“Shall we?” he asked.
“Let’s,” she grinned. They linked arms and walked out the door.
“Hold on a moment, you two!” Carly shouted. She picked her camera up from the coffee table. “Smile!” and she snapped a photo.
“Ok, my feet hurt, let’s sit down,” Georgie took Dillon’s hand and led him off the dance floor to their table. The Metro Court was decorated elegantly for Georgie’s prom.
Dillon pulled out Georgie’s chair for her, “Why, thank you,” she smiled.
“You are quite welcome,” he kissed her nose.
“You two are so adorable,” Eden Cavanaugh cooed. She sat on her boyfriend Corey Finney’s lap. “Yeah, it’s almost nauseating,” he muttered, munching on a pretzel. Georgie and Dillon laughed as Eden gave him a playful slap across the chest.
“So, Dillon, how is that baby of yours? You two need to bring her by the bookstore more often,” Eden commented.
“The only reason Dillon brought her by in the first place is because Georgie made him. Dillon doesn’t read,” Corey teased.
“Ha, Corey, you’re hysterical,” Dillon remarked dryly, “And besides, we also brought her by to see your smiling face, Eden,” Eden smiled and Corey gasped, “Hey, my family owns that bookstore. I’m there more than she is. You mean to tell me that you don’t stop by to see me? Dillon, buddy, I thought we were closer than that,”
Both girls laughed, “Sorry, man, I just like her more than you. I thought you knew that,” Dillon chuckled.
“So how is Mia, now that we know you like me more than him,” Eden spoke up.
Dillon smiled. It was one of his favorite topics, talking about his daughter. His face lit up when he talked about her, “She’s doing really well. She’s nine months old now and crawling around like a little maniac. I’ve had to baby proof my apartment, Georgie’s apartment, Carly and Sonny’s place, plus Sam and Jason’s. Believe me; Sonny gets mad since he can’t get the light socket covers off. She can stand and tries to walk but falls. It’s adorable,”
Georgie kissed his cheek, “She’s such an angel, full of giggles. She finds Dillon absolutely hysterical. She’s always smiling. And she talks constantly, we can’t get her to be quiet,” Georgie laughed.
Corey gasped, “I know someone just like that,” and he looked directly at Eden which made the whole table laugh. Eden’s eyes grew wide, “Why are you looking at me? I can not talk if I want to. I just choose not to,” she shrugged and looked at the couples dancing.
“Nice cover, Eden,” Georgie commented, high fiving her friend.
“So how much longer are we staying here?” Dillon whispered in Georgie’s ear. He nibbled on her earlobe which sent shivers down her spine.
“Just until we see Eden and Corey get crowned prom king and queen and then we can go,” she whispered back, sultry.
“Hey,” Eden threw a piece of popcorn at the couple, “Secrets, secrets, are no fun, unless we are apart of one,”
“Real mature, Eden,” Dillon remarked sarcastically.
“Dillon just asked how much longer we were staying and I said until you two are crowned prom king and queen,” Georgie answered.
“Which should be now,” Dillon pointed to the stage where Georgie’s friend Shelly, the class president, was taking the stage.
“Hello everyone, I’m here to announce this year’s prom king and queen. May I have the envelope,” a boy from the DJ stand handed her a sealed white letter. She ripped the side of the paper off and smiled, “Our Prom King for this year is…Corey Finney,” applause erupted as Corey kissed Eden’s cheek and leapt his way across the floor towards the stage.
Shelly placed the crown on Corey’s head and hugged a friend, “Alright, the girl to join Corey as Prom Queen for this year is…Eden Cavanaugh,”
Eden’s face beamed. Georgie stood and hugged her friend, wishing her congratulations. She ran up on to the stage and jumped into Corey’s arms. He kissed her softly before Shelly placed the tiara on Eden’s head. A slow ballad began to play through the speakers and couple’s began to slow dance on the ballroom floor.
“Dillon, I honestly would love to dance with you, but my feet are killing me,” Georgie complained. She kissed Dillon’s cheek, hoping that he read her mind to go with her not so subtle comment.
“Would you like to leave?” he asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
Georgie laughed, “It’s as if you read my mind,” Dillon helped her to her feet and he and Georgie walked out of the ballroom and headed towards the elevator. “Hey, Georgie, just so you know, I booked this room three weeks ago before we went to New York. And I didn’t get this room for us to have sex tonight. It’s just for us to spend some quality time together. Heck, we can change into our pajamas and watch a good movie…or…five…tonight for all I care. We don’t have to do the cliché sex on prom night thing if you want to,” Dillon would have continued if his lips had not been smashed into by Georgie’s.
“Dillon, I want you so bad right now,” she mumbled against their mouths.
“Oh God,” Dillon attacked Georgie’s lips. Her hands roamed through his hair as they engaged in a full make out in the hotel elevator. The door opened and they fumbled out into the hallway.
They quickly headed for their door where Dillon tried his hardest to get the key to slide into the door.
Georgie laughed at his frustration and grabbed the key from his hand. She swiped it through the door and it unlocked. “You’re amazing,” Dillon commented, before their lips crashed together.
The two of them toppled into the hotel suite and began pulling each other’s clothing off. Georgie slipped out of her dress as it landed on the floor. She stood there dressed in a sexy black strapless slip. She unbuttoned Dillon’s shirt as his lips never left her neck. It soon joined her dress on the floor.
Dillon shuffled them over towards the bed where soon the rest of their clothing was discarded.
And that night Georgie and Dillon made love.

Chapter Twenty-Three
“Ok, here it is! Our first day of summer vacation! And where are we going Georgie girl?”
“Dillon, put the camera down,”
“No, miss new graduate, the camera loves you,”
“Dillon, you have had that camera on and in my face since my graduation, which was a week and a half ago. Turn it off,”
“No,”
“Fine,” Georgie picked Mia up from her stroller and held her on her hip, “You poor kid, you’re going to have a camera shoved in your face too pretty much your whole life,”
“And is that such a problem that I would like to document my daughter’s life so we can have memories for when she’s older?”
“No, I guess you’re right,”
“I know, so take two: where are we going, girls?”
“We’re going to the beach for the week!” Georgie squealed. She tickled Mia’s belly and she burst out in a happy squeal. She waved at the camera and Mia copied her, “Say hi daddy! Hi daddy!” Georgie said, thinking that Mia might actually say it.
“She’s working on ‘dada’ believe me, it will happen any day now,” Dillon tried to sound convincing.
Georgie laughed, “Right, Dillon, and I’m the queen of England,”
Dillon turned off his camera and bowed, “You’re majesty,”
Georgie tipped her head back and laughed harder, “You are such a goof. Isn’t your daddy silly?” Georgie tickled Mia’s sides making her giggle hysterically.
Jason walked out to the car helping Dillon carry the last of the bags. “Do you think you packed enough, Georgie?” he remarked sarcastically.
“Hey!” she interjected, “Those two purple suitcases are mine. The rest of the stuff is Dillon’s,” she said, pointing to the three suitcases.
Jason turned around and raised an eyebrow at Dillon, “Ok, two of those suitcases are mine. One of them is Mia’s. There’s her diaper bag and her portable crib, and my camera case. I also packed some of Michael and Morgan’s beach toys,”
Everyone laughed at him. Sam put her hand on her very, very large stomach, “Sam, how are those two little babies doing? Are they being good?” Georgie joked.
“No, they won’t stop moving,” Sam said.
“I’m sorry,” Georgie smiled.
“Well we better hit the road before we hit traffic,” Dillon commented. He hugged Sam and Georgie buckled Mia into her car seat. Georgie hopped in next to Dillon as he honked and drove down the rode.
Sam waved goodbye and Jason put his arms around her, “I’m going to miss them this week,” she mumbled.
“Yeah me too,” Jason sighed, kissing her temple, “It’s going to be a hell of a lot quieter without Dillon mumbling about some black and white movie,”
“Oh, it’s so gorgeous out here tonight,” Georgie mumbled, snuggling up to Dillon. She pulled the blanket closer to her chin, “I don’t get why Sonny never comes here,”
Dillon kissed her temple, his arms were wrapped around her tightly, “Georgie, if you had your own private island in the Caribbean with a better view, would you come to the beach two and a half hours away?” Dillon laughed.
Georgie giggled, “Yeah, I guess you’re right,” she smiled, watching the sun set, “I love you,”
“Love you too,” Dillon paused for a moment, “Georgie, you are happy right?”
Georgie looked at Dillon a little confused, “Why do you keep asking me that?”
Dillon sighed, “Because, you’ve completely had to change your life for me and Mia and I want to make sure you don’t regret it,”
“Does this have to do with me going to PCU instead of Princeton?” she asked.
“Yes,” Dillon replied.
“Dillon, I’ve told you, I planned to go there from the start. Ever since you and I got back together, that’s what we decided together. Port Charles University is a great school. Trust me, I’m happy,”
“But ever since I’ve known you, you always wanted to go to Princeton. I want you to be positive that you want to go to PCU,”
“Dillon, for goodness sake, I am positive! Will you please believe me? PCU is the place for me,” she tried to reassure him.
“But, Georgie I made you give up the only parent you have left for me. That’s a lot to ask of you,”
“It was my choice to leave home. I don’t think of it as a sacrifice. I promise it. Are we done on the subject now, please? I am happier than I have been with you and Mia and our paradise view,” she snuggled back into Dillon’s arms.
“You’re amazing, you know that?” he whispered into her hair. “And your hair smells amazing too,” he bent over and captured his lips with hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling her closer to his body. His hands ran up and down her sides, and she deepened the kiss. Georgie slid her tongue into his mouth and they began to swirl around each other. Dillon played with the bottom of Georgie’s shirt placing his hands on her flat stomach. His lips kissed from her lips down to the spot where her shoulder met her neck. He sucked on that spot making Georgie sigh.
Mia’s cries blared over the baby monitor. Dillon jumped off Georgie and she stood up. She fixed her hair as Dillon walked through the French doors to get Mia.
A few minutes later he returned holding the baby in his arms. She held her bottle in her hands. Dillon wrapped a pink blanket around her; the night air for the end of June was still chilly. He sat back down on the swing and rearranged Mia in his lap.
“Hi, sweetheart, didn’t you want to sleep? Did you think you were missing all the fun?” Georgie cooed.
“I think those teeth are bothering her. I gave her some medicine, so that should help,” Dillon said and Georgie nodded.
Dillon kissed the top of her head and cradled her in one arm, like a football, and wrapped the other around Georgie as she snuggled close to his chest.
Mia finished her bottle and handed it to Georgie. “Baaaaa ba bababa,” she babbled. Georgie laughed. “Thank you,” she giggled and Mia smiled. Dillon placed her pacifier in her mouth.
“Come on, Mia, say ‘dada’,” Dillon encouraged.
Georgie rolled her eyes at him, “No, Mia, say ‘Georgie’,” she giggled.
“Don’t confuse her!” Dillon shouted, making Georgie laugh even harder. Mia joined in on the giggling and Dillon tickled her in defeat. She wouldn’t say her first word tonight.
“She’s finally asleep,” Dillon whispered walking into his bedroom which he would share with Georgie for the week. He looked at the clock and saw that it was half past midnight. He sighed and crawled under the covers next to Georgie. She immediately snuggled up next to him.
“This is nice,” she mumbled, closing her eyes and resting her head on his chest.
“It is,” Dillon murmured, “Georgie,” he whispered.
“Hmm,”
“Will you move in with me?” he asked simply.
Georgie opened her eyes and sat straight up, “What?”
“Will you move in?”
Georgie was speechless. She somehow mustered up a head nod.
“Really?” Dillon smiled. Georgie nodded again. Dillon dove for her lips and they grew in passion. He played with the hem of her tank top.
Thoughts began to run through Georgie’s head. Was she ready for that?
“Wait, Dillon. Stop!” she said quickly and pushed her off of him.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“You want me to move in with you? Are you sure?” she asked quickly, not quite thinking of what she was asking.
Dillon chuckled, “Yeah, Georgie. That’s why I asked you. I’m positive I want you to live with me. We can share a bed and do this whenever we want,” he pulled her hair off her neck and began sucking on the spot between her neck and shoulder.
“But, I don’t know,” she said softly.
Dillon stopped and looked at her confused, “What do you mean you’re not sure?” he asked, “You already said yes. I’m sure, what’s there to not know?” he began to get defensive.
“I don’t know!” Georgie exclaimed. Her cell phone on the dresser rang. She quickly answered it, “Hello...yeah, we’ll be right there… see you in a bit…” she hung up the phone and looked at Dillon, “We have to go, Sam just went into labor,” she announced.
Dillon jumped out of bed and quickly got dressed. Georgie slipped on her clothes as well and packed what little she took out of her suitcase.
Dillon walked down the hall and took Mia out of her crib and ever so gently and quietly placed her in her car seat. He grabbed the blanket and her teddy bear from Georgie and walked down stairs to grab the bottles from the fridge and baby food.
Georgie met him down stairs, “Let’s go!” he whispered and they both headed for the garage.
It was a real miracle that Dillon wasn’t pulled over by any cops at the rate he was speeding to make it to General Hospital; the normal two and a half hour trip took him a little over an hour and fifteen minutes.
They raced up to the maternity ward where they were soon met by Carly. Sonny was home with the boys since Leticia had the week off. Mia was wide awake in her carrier, after screaming her lungs out for a half hour.
“Has she had the babies yet?” Georgie quickly asked.
Carly smiled, “No, not yet. It’ll probably be a while the doctor said,” she explained.
Dillon ran his fingers through his hair. He looked down at his watch; it was now 1:45 in the morning. “Hey, I think I’m going to take Mia home. She’s been up all night teething. I want to see if I can get her to sleep for a little while. We’ll be back sometime in the morning after breakfast. Tell Sam and Jason we’re thinking of them,” Dillon gave Carly a hug and he gave Georgie a quick kiss. She gave Mia a kiss on the cheek and watched him walk towards the elevator.
Georgie sat down in a chair in the waiting room next to Carly. She sighed, “Hey, Carly, I have to tell you something. It’s pretty big,” she began.
Carly’s face went white, “Georgie are you pregnant?” she asked, only half joking.
Georgie’s eyes grew, not expecting that to come out of Carly’s mouth. But you could never be sure what Carly would say, “No! No, no, no, not that kind of big. Something else,” she took a deep breath, not really believing what she was going to say, “Dillon asked me to move in with him tonight,” she said slowly.
It was Carly’s turn for her eyes to grow wide; “He did what?” was all she could spit out.
“Dillon asked me to move in,”
“Wow…so what did you say?” she eagerly asked.
“I said yes and then I said no,”
“What?” Carly asked.
“He asked me and I said yes. And then I said no,”
Carly chuckled and Georgie looked at her with shock, “It’s not funny!” Georgie said.
Carly placed her hand over her mouth. “I’m sorry. Do you think you’re ready for this?” Carly asked.
“I don’t know! That’s the thing! I don’t know. It totally took me off guard,” Georgie explained. She stood up and began pacing around the room, “Yeah, I want to move in with him. But am I ready to live with him? I mean, you know what moving in with someone leads to; marriage. Am I ready for marriage? Well yes, I see myself marrying Dillon but not now. One day, way in the future, like after I’m out of school. And Mia is older. And then there is Mia in this decision. If I move in, I’m basically becoming her mom. Am I ready to be a mother? I mean I love Mia a lot. But am I ready to be a mom! I don’t know!” she rambled. Georgie plopped down in the chair next to Carly and rested her head on Carly’s shoulder.
“I know, sweetie, I know. But this is a decision I can’t make for you,” Carly hugged Georgie.
“I know you can’t. I just don’t know what to do,” she explained.
“You’ll know. You’re heart will know,”
Jason walked through the doors of the waiting room with a big smile on his face. He looked absolutely exhausted, but he looked so very happy.
“We have twins,” he whispered, sounding absolutely shocked.
“No kidding, Sherlock,” Carly said, in good humor. She hugged her best friend.
“Are they boys or girls or what?” Georgie asked.
“Two boys,”
“Poor Mia. I was hoping for a girl for her to hang with,” Carly joked.
“Can we see them?” Georgie asked, hopefully.
Jason nodded. Carly and Georgie followed him down the hall and into Sam’s room. Two tiny babies were in the room in bassinets. They were lying quietly.
“The babies were just brought back about a millisecond ago,” Sam smiled.
“Congratulations,” Georgie hugged her friend.
“Can I hold one?” Carly questioned, biting on her pointer finger. Jason nodded. Carly picked up one of the little boys as Jason picked up the other.
“Did you decide on names?” Georgie sat down in one of the chairs, next to Carly.
Sam smiled, “Yep, Carly is holding Gavin Cole Morgan and Jason has Carter Thomas Morgan,”
“They’re perfect,” Carly whispered. “Welcome to the world you little bachelors,” she joked. Jason sat down on the bed next to Sam and wrapped his arms around her. “I love you,” he whispered and kissed her.
“This is the perfect moment,” Sam said, “I have my husband, and our kids. What more could I want in life?”
Georgie stood up and headed for the door, “I have to go. I know what I’m going to say,” she headed to the door, “Congratulations you two. I have to go see Dillon,”
Jason looked at Sam and then at Carly, “What was she talking about?”
Georgie raced up the hall towards Dillon’s door, she knocked eagerly at the door. “Dillon! Dillon!” she whispered loudly, still knocking.
Dillon ran towards the door, “Georgie, what’s wrong, are you ok?” she didn’t answer him. She grabbed the back of his head and pulled him in to a passionate kiss. They pulled apart after a moment, “Well it’s nice to see you too,” Dillon joked, but Georgie put her hand over his mouth, “Yes. My answer is yes. Yes, I’ll move in with you. I want to live with you and spend the rest of my life with you and someday become Mrs. Georgie Jones-Quartermaine,”
“Or just Georgie Quartermaine,”
“I love you,” Georgie kissed him again.

Chapter Twenty-Four
“Hello beautiful baby boy,” Georgie cooed to Gavin Cole Morgan. Carly held Carter Thomas in her arms and cradled him back and forth. The babies had been home for three weeks and Jason and Sam were absolutely exhausted. No one said raising twins were easy.
Carly, Dillon and Georgie had come down that morning to give Sam a break and sleep.
Jason walked into the living room of his and Sam’s apartment yawning loudly. “God you’re here early,” he murmured, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
“It’s eleven forty-five,” Georgie giggled.
Jason did a double take at the clock, “Oh my God you’re right. Where’s Sam?”
“She’s sleeping in my apartment,” Georgie said.
“Yeah we were going to wake you, but you looked just too darn cute to wake,” Dillon commented as he fed Mia some lunch.
“We have some black mail pictures to use. Who wouldn’t love to see Port Charles’ mob boss sleeping like a baby. That’s tough looking,” Carly laughed.
Mia giggled in the high chair as well. Jason walked over to her and tickled her toes, “Excuse me, young lady, no laughing at Uncle Jason before he’s had his cup of coffee, ok?”
Dillon pulled Mia out of the high chair and set her on the floor. She began pulling herself up on the furniture and then fell down. She did this repeatedly as Dillon watched in amusement.
“I cannot wait until my little boys are crawling and smiling and sitting up. I can’t wait until they say ‘dada’,” Jason said, sipping his coffee.
Dillon sat on the floor with Mia and played with a toy, “It’s so wonderful watching her learn something new each day. Honestly, that little girl surprises me all day. Yes you do,” he picked Mia up and held her over his head and she shrieked with laughter. “But honestly, treasure it when they’re the size of a football and could just sleep in your arms all day,” Dillon said as Mia wiggled in his grasp, “I really wish I had seen Mia when she was that tiny,” he kissed the top of her head.
“Yeah, you’re right. And on that note, everyone get out of my house. Out, out, out! I want to spend some time with my manly men,” Jason said, in good humor. He picked up Gavin out of Georgie’s arms as she picked up Mia’s diaper bag.
Carly placed Carter in his bassinet and kissed his forehead, “Jason, call me if you need anything, honestly. Are you sure you’re going to be ok by yourself?” she asked as he scooted her out the door.
“Carly, I raised Michael for the first year of his life, remember? I think I know how to take care of a baby,” he remarked sarcastically.
“But Jason, there are two of them if you weren’t aware and if—,”Carly started but Jason shut her up before she could finish.
“Good-bye, Carly,” he said simply and closed the door.
“Bye, Jason,” Georgie gave him a hug and kissed Gavin’s cheek. She and Dillon walked out the door.
“So what do we do now?” she whispered.
“Well,” Dillon began, “we could unpack a little,” he shrugged.
“So,” Dillon said, placing Mia on the floor. Georgie bent down and tickled her toes. He picked up a picnic basket from in the refrigerator and a blanket.
“So, you’ve had this planned all along,” Georgie giggled.
Dillon placed the blanket on the ground. “Well I was thinking the park, but since it’s raining, why not a picnic indoors instead?”
Dillon began setting up the food as Georgie played with Mia. He handed her a cup filled with something and a bottle to Mia. Georgie took a sip and laughed, “Apple juice?” she looked at the food being set out. “And Cheerios and peanut butter and jelly?”
Dillon picked up a handful of Cheerios, “Yep. It’s about all I can cook, besides macaroni and cheese. And frozen pizzas,”
Georgie had to laugh, “This is just like my lunches all through school. I love it,” she bent over and kissed him sweetly, “You have jelly on your lips,” she giggled. Mia joined in too, clapping her hands in amusement.
“Hey, don’t laugh at your old man, Miss Mia,” he tickled his daughter, making her laugh even more. “How did I get so lucky? How did I end up with the two best girls in the whole world?”
“I have no idea, but I’m pretty lucky too,” Georgie said.
Dillon reached into the picnic basket and pulled out a big chocolate chip cookie for Georgie. She broke it in half and gave some to him, while Mia contently munched on her Cheerios.
“So, this is the life, huh?” Dillon said lying down on the floor.
“Yep,” Georgie said lying down next to him. Mia crawled over to Dillon and he lifted her above his head, “Do you agree Mia?”
She smiled a gummy smile at him.
It was early in the morning as Georgie lay awake in Dillon’s bed, staring at the ceiling of their bedroom. It was her first morning waking in up in their apartment. Dillon rolled over and put his arm over her and pulled her close to him. “Good morning,” he mumbled.
“Morning,” she giggled, against his lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him into a kiss.
“I like waking up next to you. It’s nice. I could lie here all day,” she laid down on his chest and he put his arms around her.
Mia began crying hysterically through the noise of the baby monitor, “Well, that lasted long,” he climbed out of bed and put on a pair of sweats and walked out of the room.
A few minutes later, he returned with Mia in his arms. “Hi, sweetheart,” Georgie cooed as Dillon sat down next to her.
“Hi, Georgie, I just saw you a couple minutes ago,” Dillon joked.
“I was talking to the baby,” she replied frank, reaching out for Mia. Dillon placed her in his arms and she held her in her lap.
Mia began to pat Georgie’s hands as babble, “Dada dada dada daddadada,”
Dillon’s eyes grew wide and he picked Mia up and held her over his head, “Did you hear that? Did you hear that, Georgie? She said ‘dada’!”
“In what language, Dillon? Swahili?” Georgie laughed.
“My baby said ‘dada; She finally said ‘dada’! She’s a genius!” he tickled her sides and she burst out laughing.

Chapter Twenty-Five
Georgie walked into Kelly’s with her school bag thrown over her shoulder. She plopped down at the counter and sighed loudly.
“Hi, Georgie, how are you doing today?” Mike asked with a slight chuckle. Georgie raised her eyebrow and shook her head, “I don’t understand it. People cannot use a turn signal to save their life. I had a class at eight this morning and I am behind the slowest driver in the world! So I am ten minutes late and of course I get yelled at by my professor and then driving over here someone nearly hit me because they can’t use their turn signal!”
Mike laughed and gave her a grateful smile, “Can I get you a chocolate milkshake and some fries?”
“I would love some,” Georgie mentioned.
Mike returned shortly with her food and she munched happily. The bell on the door rang and Georgie spun around on her bar stool. Her eyes widened and her smile grew, “Maxie!” she yelled as she ran up to her sister. She hugged her tightly. “What are you doing here? I thought you were at college!”
Maxie shrugged, “I took the weekend off and decided to come home and see you and Mac and everyone else. Hi Mike,” she smiled.
“Hi Maxie, it’s good to see you around here,”
“So how’s college? I’m sure you went somewhere smart. You always were the smart one of the family,” she asked.
Georgie adverted Maxie’s eyes, “I’m at Port Charles University as a British literature major,” she said quickly.
“That’s good. Want to clue me in on what else is going on? I don’t see you for almost a year. Tell me how you are,” Maxie asked frankly.
“Umm…where should I begin?” Georgie gave a nervous laugh, “Well…Dillon and I are still together. He has a daughter now. She’s been with him for almost a year now. Her name is Mia. And it’s his daughter with Sage. Um…I was shot in the stomach at school in March and---,”
Maxie shook her head, “What?” she was speechless. “You were shot?”
“Someone came into the school in March and held my English room hostage. I was shot in the stomach. I have a nasty scar but I’m ok now. And thanks for picking up a phone and worrying by the way…”Georgie muttered, trying not to be bitter.
“I’m sorry, Georgie. I needed to get out of this place. Too much had happened to me. I needed to get away and be totally away if that makes sense. But it’s not like I didn’t think about you. I just finally got ready to come back to Port Charles. That’s why I came home this weekend,” Maxie explained. “If I would have known, I would have come home. I promise. But I’m here now, Georgie. And I’m so glad you are ok,”
“Thank you, I’m glad you’re back, too,” she smiled and gave Maxie’s hand a tight squeeze.
“Well now that all the mushy stuff is out of the way. Tell me about Dillon and you and his daughter? It’s so weird to think that he has a child. Especially with that bitch Sage. How did you find out? Don’t tell me Sage is back in town. Is she causing trouble for you two?” Maxie muttered.
Georgie took another bite of a French fry, “No, Sage isn’t back in town. Mia was dropped off at Dillon’s apartment last November by some woman Dillon didn’t recognize. She just said Mia was in grave danger with her. Dillon thinks its Sage’s cousin, Margaret. But Mia’s been with us ever since. It took some getting used to. I mean Dillon and I were finally getting back to normal and then all of a sudden, bam, there’s Dillon’s daughter with Sage. But I love that little girl. She’s so wonderful,”
“Well that’s good,” Maxie commented, “And on a lighter note, how’s college? Do you like your classes? And your roommate?”
“My classes are good, so far. I mean I’ve only been in school for two weeks now. And I actually don’t live in the dorms or at home,” she said quickly.
Maxie’s eyes grew large. She almost choked on her soda, “No way! How the heck did you convince Mac to let you get your own place? I bet he had a heart attack when you suggested it! It must have been one hell of a deal for him to allow that,” she chuckled.
“Well, I made the decision on my own, when I moved out last March,”
“You left home? Why?” Maxie asked, astonished.
“Maxie, he was keeping me from the love of my life and---,” Maxie cut Georgie off before she could finish, “Oh, Georgie, guys come and go. Honestly, I’ve had at least three boyfriends in the past six months alone,”
“But Maxie---,”
“Have you talked to Mac? Why would you leave? Have you talked to him? I can’t believe it…” she sat back in her chair, stunned.
“Maxie, how would you feel if someone was keeping you from the one thing you cared the most about in the world? Wouldn’t you do whatever you could to stay with that person?”
“Georgie, you aren’t thinking straight. Dillon works for Sonny and Jason! Those two lead very dangerous lives? Do you want to be around the constant danger for the rest of your life?”
“Maxie, I love him. I don’t care about his job. I’ve been safe with him so far. But you know what, when I was at school, I was shot and almost died!” Georgie said through her teeth.
“But Georgie---,”
“Don’t ‘But Georgie’ me, Maxie! You weren’t around. You didn’t know what it was like. Mac was never home. And when he was, he was bitter and angry. He was tired and dull. He wasn’t the Mac we grew up with. He was overworking himself. And it wasn’t fair. It just wasn’t fair, Maxie,” she tried to explain.
Maxie shook her head in disappointment, “You’re living with him aren’t you? Are you pregnant?”
Georgie took a deep breath, “No I am not pregnant. Why does everyone think that? Dillon and I love each other and this was just the next step in our relationship,”
“Oh, how could you do something like that? You were supposed to be the sensible one. And he has a baby. Do you honestly want to be tied down with a child?”
“I love Dillon. I’ll always love Dillon. And I love Mia. She is the sweetest and most wonderful child I have ever met. At least my life is in order. I have a place of my own, someone who loves me, a future. So don’t judge me, Maxie. Lord knows you haven’t been the angel,” she shot back.
“But, Georgie, I haven’t given up on my family,” she remarked bitterly.
Georgie laughed. She had to laugh, “I still have a family, Maxie. I have Dillon and Mia and Sonny and Carly and Jason and Sam and the boys. I have Aunt Bobbie and Lucas and Emily and Nikolas. There’s Lucky and Elizabeth. Maxie, I have more family than I know what to do with,” she seethed. “When’s the last time you were home before today, Maxie? Because if not coming home for a year is not abandoning your family, then I’m really confused on why you are coming down on me…” she trailed off the rest of her thought. “I’ll see you around, Maxie,” Georgie threw a five dollar bill down on the counter. She grabbed her jacket and purse and walked out the door with it slamming behind her.
“Hi,” Dillon said, opening the door to his apartment to find Sonny and Jason standing right there. “What’s up?”
“We need to talk to you,” Sonny explained, his face was serious.
Dillon nodded and shifted a squirmy Mia on his hip, “Well come in then. Why don’t we sit in the living room?” Sonny and Jason both nodded and walked into the house. Dillon closed the door and joined them. He sat down on the couch and placed Mia down on the floor. She sat down on the floor and tried to pull herself up on Dillon’s legs. She let go, stood for a moment and then fell down. “So what’s up? Because the words ‘we need to talk to you’ don’t give me a warm feeling inside,”
Jason took a deep breath and looked at Sonny, “We received news today about Sage Alcazar,” he said slowly.
“What?” Dillon said, shocked.
“Alcazar had an enemy, Carlo De Luca. We think he’s the one who murdered Sage, last November,”
“You think Sage was murdered?” Dillon repeated.
“Yes,” Sonny continued, “De Luca would do anything to keep his enemies from gaining power over him. He eliminated whole families to keep heirs from rising up in power,”
“What does that mean for, Mia and for Georgie?” Dillon asked. He picked Mia up and sat her down on his lap, with a book for her to look at.
“We don’t know what it means, Dillon. But we want to keep you aware that this is real and there is a real enemy out there. De Luca is starting to come back to town and is trying to move in on our territory,” Jason explained, “We want extra security on you, Mia, and Georgie as well as our families,” Dillon nodded.
“Dillon, we also wanted to talk to you about involving you more in the business with us,” Jason said, looking at him with a serious face.
“What would that entail?” Dillon asked, placing Mia back on the floor. She crawled around and picked up a baby doll.
“You’d be working more with us and going on more missions. You’d meet with others and handle more shipments. It can be very dangerous, Dillon. You and Georgie are engaged, but it could wreck relationships. Carly and I haven’t always been blissful. We’ve had rough spots,” Sonny explained.
Georgie dug into her purse for her key and unlocked the door to Dillon’s apartment, “Oh, you should hear about the day I had today, Dillon! Maxie’s back in town and---,” she stopped as she saw Sonny, Jason, and Dillon sitting around the living room, all looking serious. “Did I interrupt something here?” she said.
Jason and Sonny got up from the table and shook their heads, “Yeah, but don’t worry we were---,”
Georgie put her hands up, “Say no more. Why don’t I take Mia and we’ll go and get a snack, right sweetie pie? Just pretend I didn’t just barge in here, interrupting you guys,” she picked up the baby and walked into the kitchen.
“Just think about it, Dillon. It’s a big decision,” Dillon nodded and showed Sonny and Jason to the door.
A couple minutes later, Georgie walked into the living room with Mia in her arms. She sat down on the couch next to Dillon, “Boy can I clear a room,” she gave Mia her bottle and she laid contently in Georgie’s arms. “Are you ok?” she rang her fingers through his hair.
Dillon shook his head, “Yeah, I’m fine. Why don’t you tell me about why your day was so horrible?”
Georgie rolled her eyes and chuckled, “Well, first off I arrive to class ten minutes late due to a slow driver. I almost get hit by someone who can’t use their turn signal. Then I’m at Kelly’s and Maxie shows up. The sister I haven’t seen for almost a year and a half. And we’re talking and she starts coming down on me for moving out, and she says what a horrible daughter I am etcetera, and she’s an angel. But anyway, how was your day with Mia?” she asked, munching on a pretzel.
She stroked Mia’s brown wavy hair and kissed her forehead. She noticed that Dillon wasn’t paying attention. He kept tapping his fingers on his knee, looking as if he were deep in thought. “Honey, are you ok?” she asked sweetly.
“What? Oh yeah, I’m just thinking about something, that’s all,” he kissed her cheek and took Mia’s empty bottle into the kitchen.
Georgie placed Mia in her play yard and followed Dillon, “If something’s bothering you, I think you should talk about it, Dillon. It’s not good to keep that all pent up. You’re gonna start acting like Jason,” she laughed lightly.
Dillon ran his fingers through his hair and sighed, “Jason and Sonny asked me something and I’m not sure what to do,”
“What did they ask you?” Georgie hopped up on the counter and popped a grape into her mouth.
“Jason and Sonny want me to be more involved in the business. They wanted to know if I wanted to join in on more things,” he said simply, avoiding Georgie’s eyes.
“What did you say?”
“I didn’t give them a response. They told me to think about it,”
“Well what are you thinking?”
“I’m seriously considering it, Georgie,”
“Why would you want to, Dillon? It’s dangerous!”
“Now you’re starting to sound like Mac. Remember when you said that my job wasn’t dangerous,”
“I never said that your job wasn’t dangerous. I just said that I couldn’t be hurt if I was with you. And besides that was before. Before when all you were doing was computer stuff. If you go in deeper, Dillon, there’s no turning around. You’re in until you die. Do you want that?”
“I’m seriously thinking about it. Georgie, they’re my family. Jason took me in when I didn’t want to be with the Quartermaine’s anymore. They’ve taken care of me and given me a good life for my daughter, for us,” Dillon tried to explain.
“So were you not going to talk to me about it? Just keeping going in deeper until one day when you get shot and tell me that you’re Jason’s right hand man!” Georgie yelled.
“Georgie, I was going to talk to you about it. Just not right this minute. A little later, like tonight or tomorrow. After I slept on it, maybe,”
“‘After you sleep on it’, that’s really funny!” Georgie laughed sarcastically.
“What do you want me to say, Georgie? Do you not want me to work with Sonny and Jason anymore? Because that won’t work! I don’t want to quit! I really can’t quit! You’re right that this is a life long thing. But if staying for life means that my family is taken care of, then fine with me!” he hissed.
“Well it sounds like you’ve already made up your mind!” Georgie jumped off the counted and walked into the living room. She grabbed her bag and purse and headed for the door. She slammed it shut behind her.
“Well maybe I have!” Dillon shouted back. Mia began to cry and rolled his head back, “Damn it,” he muttered under his breath. He walked over to Mia and picked her up. “Sorry princess! It’s alright! Its ok!” he bounced her around as she continued to scream.
Georgie sat in front of her television eating a large bowl of ice cream, flipping through the channels. Nothing seemed to be on. She turned the TV off and sighed. She picked up a magazine but couldn’t get past page six. Nothing seemed to hold her attention. Her mind was else where.
She put her slippers on and walked towards the door. She opened the door as Dillon was about to knock.
“Oh, hi,” she said startled.
“Hello,” Dillon said, with a half smile. He pulled pink roses out from behind his back and showed them to Georgie. “These are for you,”
She grinned as he handed the flower to her, “You know, you can’t always win me over with presents,”
“But they’re helping right?” he smirked as she led him into the living room. He set the baby monitor down on the coffee table and sat down on the couch.
Georgie nodded and sat down next to him, “A little,”
Dillon took a deep breath, “Georgie, I’m sorry for arguing, but you have to understand where I’m coming from. This is the life I’ve chosen. I just found out today that I have an enemy who will kill every member of his enemies’ family to get what he wants. The man killed Sage and Lorenzo Alcazar. I want to make sure you’re protected. I want to know that I can protect you from bastards like that. I know my job is dangerous. I always worry if I’m making the right decisions,”
Georgie nodded, “I know,” Dillon pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead. “I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you too,” she mumbled back. “So your mind is made up?” she asked softly.
“Yeah, I think so,”
Georgie nodded again. She sat up, “Just don’t die!” she said quickly.
“What?” Dillon asked.
“Don’t die! Please don’t die! Promise me you’ll be safe because I don’t know what I’ll do without you, Dillon. I love you so much, just promise me you won’t die!” tears poured from her eyes as she began to get hysterical.
Dillon pulled her close and hugged her tight, “Georgie girl, I’m not going anywhere. I promise,” he kissed her hair as she cried on his shoulder.

Chapter Twenty-Six
Emelia Isabel Rosalina Quartermaine was one year old, today.
Dillon took in a deep breath and sighed. His little girl was growing up.
Too quickly for his taste, though.
Dillon sat at the bar at Kelly’s taking the whole scene in.
Kelly’s had been transformed from a normal diner into a “Pink Princess Paradise” as Carly had called it. Pig pink balloons and sparkles were everywhere around.
Various guests sat at the tables while the kids played on the floor. Elizabeth, Lucky, Cameron, Sam and the babies, Michael, Morgan, Sonny, Carly, Max and Milo, Bobbie, Lucas, Mike, Eden, Corey, and others had all come out to celebrate the first birthday of Dillon’s little girl.
“Carly, you didn’t make any of this did you?” Dillon asked, only half joking.
“No!” she shouted. “And why does everyone think I can’t cook? I can make some things,”
“Microwave popcorn and cereal do not count,” Dillon teased.
“Very funny,” she raised her eye brow at him, which made Dillon laugh harder. “But honestly, I can cook things! My pizzas are wonderful!”
“Carly, frozen pizzas aren’t really cooking. Sorry,” Georgie commented, carrying a plate of vegetables out of the kitchen.
“Yeah, Georgie’s right,” Sonny remarked. He walked over to Carly and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek, “Its ok honey, that’s why I cook and you spend my money,” he laughed.
“She does do that well,” Lucky laughed and Cameron did too. The two were playing with cars on the floor along with Morgan and Michael.
Emily walked into the restaurant while Nikolas followed behind with a large stack of gifts.
“Hi, everyone!” Emily squealed.
“It’s about time you showed up, cous,” Dillon laughed and kissed her cheek.
“Sorry. Happy Birthday, Mia!” she cooed and took her from Dillon’s arms. “Don’t you look adorable in that pink dress,” she fixed Mia’s bow in her hair and gave her a kiss.
“Georgie, picked it out,” Dillon commented. He looked at the floor and then at his cousin. “Emily, what is that stack of gifts doing on the floor?” Dillon raised an eyebrow, suspicious of them.
“Ok, so I couldn’t help myself! There are so many cute outfits out right now and toys! A girl only turn’s one once,” she flashed her signature smile and Dillon rolled his eyes, “You spoil her worse than me,” Emily laughed; she tickled Mia’s sides and the birthday girl giggled. “Let’s go play!” Emily said and she carried Mia over to the floor in the diner to join Michael and Morgan and Cameron and the other kids.
Bobbie and Carly had finally sat down after cooking and decorating for almost three hours. However, Dillon found Georgie still working adding some last minute foods.
He walked over to Georgie and wrapped his arms around her waist, from behind, “Stop fussing. Everything looks great,” he whispered in her ear.
She turned around and nodded, “I know, I know. But I’m a perfectionist. What can I say?”
“Oh I know you are,” he laughed.
“Well that’s just something you’re going to have to live with for the rest of your life, mister. Unless you want to back out,” she started to walk away slowly.
“Never in a million years would I think to do that,” he captured her lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Bobbie walked out of the kitchen and Georgie and Dillon to quickly pull apart. Georgie’s cheeks instantly flushed, “Food’s done everyone! Go eat!” she yelled.
“So where’s the husband?” Georgie asked Sam, as she munched on a carrot.
“Jason had a meeting or something. He said he’ll be here in a little bit,” she fed one of the twins a bottle while Emily held the other.
Mia toddled around on the floor and crawled over to Michael. She dropped a book in his lap. He laughed and sat her down and read to her. Morgan and Cameron continued to play cars with Lucky.
Michael finished the book and Mia crawled away. Dillon scooped her up, “Shall we show everyone your new trick, princess?” he asked.
He placed her down on the floor and she grabbed his fingers. Mia began to walk with Dillon’s support. He let go and she stood for a couple seconds until she fell back down on the ground. Everyone clapped and smiled as Mia smiled back at them.
“We’re getting there with this walking thing. It’ll happen any day now. I’m sure of it,” Dillon said, trying to sound convincing.
Jason walked through the door of the restaurant and kissed his wife. “Hey everyone, sorry I’m late,” he scooped Mia up into his arms and tossed her in the air. “Happy Birthday, peanut,” he kissed her cheek. She smiled and wiggled out of his grasp. She crawled over to Sam and the babies and pulled her self up on Sam’s leg. She leaned over to give Parker a kiss on the forehead. Mia giggled and clapped her hands. Georgie picked her up and held her on her lap and tickled her.
“Dillon, can I talk to you?” Jason asked. Dillon nodded and followed him outside. “What’s up?” Dillon asked, feeling unsure of what the answer would be.
“Sonny and I want you to come to a meeting tomorrow at the coffeehouse about some business stuff,”
Dillon nodded, “Ok…” he said quietly.
Jason looked at him and paused. “Are you absolutely sure you’re ready for this lifestyle?” he asked.
Dillon looked in the window at Georgie and Mia. “Yeah, I’m positive,”
“And Georgie’s ok with it?”
“She’s not totally thrilled, but she gave me her ok,”
“Just be sure…but if you are, we’ll see you at ten at the coffee house tomorrow morning. I’m sure Carly will watch Mia,” Jason said.
“Jason…is there something else you wanted to say?” Dillon asked.
“Dillon, De Luca has made contact with us. He’s going to start trying to go after our territory,”
“What do you want me to do? What are you going to do?”
“We’ll discuss it more tomorrow. Go enjoy the party,” Jason said. He walked into the diner and Dillon followed.
He sat down kissed Georgie’s cheek. “What was that for?”
“Just because I love you,” he said simply.
“Is everything ok?” she asked.
“Everything’s fine. Don’t worry,”
She gave him an uneasy look but decided to shrug it off for today.
Carly and Bobbie came out of the kitchen area carrying the cake. “I think its birthday cake time!” Carly said.
Dillon picked up Mia and placed her in the high chair at one of the tables. Everyone joined around as Georgie and Dillon stood on either side of the birthday girl.
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to Mia! Happy Birthday to you!
Dillon and Georgie both blew out the candle for Mia and they each kissed her cheek. Emily took many pictures as Carly cut the little girl a piece of cake. Dillon set it down in front of Mia as she dove in face first into the cake. Everyone laughed at the baby covered in icing.
“Thank goodness for bibs,” Georgie laughed. Bobbie gave everyone else a piece of cake.
Georgie and Dillon walked off the elevator and over to the front door of Dillon’s apartment. Dillon’s arms held countless bags of presents and Georgie held Mia in her arms. The birthday girl rested her head on Georgie’s shoulder, ready to fall asleep.
“I think the party girl is all partied out, daddy,” she said, and kissed Mia’s forehead.
Dillon fumbled with his keys but successfully unlocked the door. “I bet she is,” he chuckled, “we did some major partying today at Kelly’s,” Georgie carried Mia into her nursery and changed her into her pink pajamas. She got her a bottle from the kitchen and carried her into the living room where Dillon was pulling off tags and opening gifts. “Say good night, daddy,” Georgie handed Mia to Dillon.
“Good night, princess. I love you,” he kissed her cheek and snuggled her close to him. “Dada. Dada. Dada,” she babbled and yawned.
Georgie scooped her up again and took her into her room where she tucked her in her crib. The nursery was all pink. Something Carly insisted upon. Pink for girls, is a must.
She turned off the light and closed the door. Georgie walked slowly back into the living room and snuggled next to Dillon on the sofa. “I love you,” she mumbled and kissed his lips softly. Georgie rested her head on Dillon’s chest and closed her eyes. He kissed her forehead. “Love you too, Georgie girl,”

Chapter Twenty-Seven
“Ok, kiddies, into pajamas and then you can some candy!” Carly shouted. They had just spent the past two hours trick-or-treating and Carly and Sonny looked exhausted. Michael and Morgan were on a sugar rush.
Michael dashed up the stairs to change out of his pirate costume, while Morgan rested his head on Sonny’s shoulder. He looked adorable in his lion costume.
Dillon placed Mia on the ground and handed Carly her diaper bag, “Her pajamas are in the bag. Thanks again for watching her for the night, Carly,” Dillon kissed Carly’s cheek and Mia’s forehead. Mia toddled over to Georgie and Dillon. The baby Pebbles costume was something Dillon had decided on. Movies were the costume theme for the three of them. But it didn’t surprise anyone.
Walking was Mia’s newest feat as well as more talking. Dillon couldn’t believe how much her vocabulary had grown. Well, he thought she was saying words, Georgie could disagree.
Dillon bent down and kissed Mia’s forehead. “Be good, sweetie pea. No partying late,” he tickled her and she giggled.
He stood up and put his arm around Georgie’s waist. She rested her head on his shoulder. “She’s not a problem, Dillon. I promise. It’s my two monkeys we have to watch,” Sonny laughed and chased Morgan up the stairs.
“Have fun tonight, you two. We’ll drop Mia off sometime tomorrow morning,” Carly said and showed them to the door.
Dillon and Georgie walked to the elevator. Her face looked a little pale, “Do you feel ok, baby?” Dillon asked Georgie.
She smiled, “Yeah…I’m fine,”
Dillon looked around the dance floor searching for Georgie. The party was packed with people dressed in various costumes. He tried to spot Georgie’s bright red haired wig and her polka dotted dress. He thought she looked cute as Lucille Ball, but maybe he was little biased. He found Eden and Corey dancing together. Eden was dressed in a slinky goddess toga and Corey wore a gladiator costume. “Have either of you seen Georgie?” he asked.
“I think she went out on the deck for a little fresh air,” Eden told him with a smile.
Dillon pushed his way through the mass of people and finally made it on to the deck. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Hi Superman,” she mumbled and turned around.
“Georgie, I’m Clark Kent,” he said, half serious. The look was perfect, even down to his black framed glasses. Dillon wore a white button dress shirt opened to reveal a Superman jersey. His suit pants completed the ensemble.
“I’m sorry,” she smiled and gave him a kiss. Her head began to spin and she rested it on his shoulder. “Are you sure you feel ok?” Georgie shook her head against Dillon’s chest.
“I have this horrible headache. And I’m nauseous. I feel…almost like I’m spinning,” she mumbled.
Dillon chuckled, “Maybe you’re pregnant,”
“That’s not funny, Dillon,” Georgie stared at him with big eyes. Dillon’s laugh turned into a face of fear, “You don’t really think you’re pregnant do you?”
“I’m late,” was all she said.
Georgie and Dillon left the party early on account that Georgie was too panicky to enjoy her self. They stopped by the drug store and picked up a home pregnancy test.
Dillon stood in the living room pacing back and forth waiting for Georgie to come out of the bathroom. She finally stepped out, tears down her cheeks, holding the pregnancy test in her hands.
He walked over to her and scooped her up in his arms. “Georgie, it’s going to be ok. I promise. I’m not going anywhere. We’ll make it work with two babies. I promise you. It’ll be ok,”
Georgie shook her head and pulled away from him. “Dillon, I’m not pregnant,”
He looked at her and paused for a moment, “You’re not pregnant,”
“No,” she sobbed.
Dillon nodded, “Ok, ok then. Well that changes everything,” he chuckled. “Not that I didn’t mean it. I’m just relieved that’s all,” he kissed her cheek.
He looked at Georgie with confusion. Tears still were pouring down her cheeks, “Baby girl, why are you still upset?”
“Dillon, I could have been pregnant! I’m only eighteen! I’m not ready to be a mother!”
“I know, I know. Just be thankful you aren’t,” he smiled, trying to get her to smile but he was failing miserably.
“But, Dillon, it could have easily happened. I’m not ready to be a mom! I’m just getting used to the idea of living with an upcoming mob lord. A baby would have just been the icing on the cake, believe me. I’d be an unwed college mother living with the father who has a daughter of his own with another woman who is very quickly becoming more and more involved with the mob,” Georgie was ranting to herself, pacing back and forth in the living room floor.
Dillon sat on the sofa, quietly looking down at his hands. Did she regret it? Is that what she meant? “Georgie,” he started quietly, “Do you honestly want to live with me? Do you want to stay here and maybe someday ya know, get married and start our life together and a family?” the question was timid and shy. Two things Dillon Quartermaine hardly ever was.
Georgie stopped where she was and stared at him, “What?” was all she asked.
“Do you…want to be with me?” he repeated.
“Why would you even ask me that?”
Dillon stood up and walked over to her, “Because, from the speech you just gave, it sounds like you’re not ready for this,”
Georgie’s eyes grew big as she replayed her last words through her mind. She cursed mentally for talking out loud. “That’s not honestly what I meant. I want to be hereand spend the rest of my life with you; it’s just ironically all happening at once and all a little overwhelming. This just sent me into panic mode. I’m sorry,” she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck; “I love you to the moon and back. I love Mia and our family we’ve created here. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’m just so thankful, that I’m not pregnant just yet,” she smiled and kissed him.
“We can still practice right?” he asked with a wink.

Chapter Twenty-Eight
Thanksgiving had come and gone. It was early December and it was cold.
Early December in Port Charles, New York, was always frigid, cold and windy.
The weather had cooled dramatically and the weathermen had been claiming that with temperatures that low it would snow any day.
Georgie and Sam sat in the comfy chairs of the department store dressing room watching Carly try on dress after dress. “Carly are you in the next one yet?” Georgie yelled into the dressing room. A moment later Carly came out in a one shoulder red evening gown. The bodice was ruched and a slit up to her knee was on the side.
“Wow,” was all Sam could spit out.
“You look so pretty Carly,” Georgie gushed.
Carly turned sideways and then faced forward again at the mirror, “You think so?” she asked.
Georgie and Sam both nodded.
Carly slumped down in a chair next to Sam, “My feet are killing me,” she grumbled and took off her heels.
“Lunch?” Georgie suggested.
“You’re a genius, Georgie,” Carly joked.
“Thank you,” she smiled and paused for a moment, then chuckled.
“What’s so funny?” Carly asked.
“I’m just picturing Sonny, Jason, and Dillon at home with five kids,” soon all three women were in a fit of giggles.
“I would pay to see what the penthouse looks like right now,” Sam giggled.
“Do you really think things are going that badly?” Georgie asked.
“I don’t know, three guys, five kids. The ratio is not looking too good,” Carly chuckled. She paused for a moment, “I better call Bobbie,” she said searching for her phone.
“Let me see what Emily is doing,”
“Good idea,”
“She’s perfectly healthy, Dillon,” Dr. O’Connell said to the young father. Dillon followed him out to the nurses’ desk carrying Mia in his arms. The fifteenth month old played with the doll in her hand.
“Thanks, Doc,” Dillon shook the man’s hand and he headed back to his office. Dillon set Mia down for a moment on the nurses’ station counter, “Alright, Mia, we’re going to go to Kelly’s to see Uncle Jason and the boys. And then we’ll head home to take a nap and then after that maybe off to the park? Sound good sweetie?” he kissed her cheek and slipped on her mini pink pea coat courtesy of a Sam and Carly shopping expedition.
He set Mia down on the floor and held her hands as she toddled towards the elevator. “Hello, Dillon,”
Dillon looked up and saw Dr. Monica Quartermaine, “Hi, Monica,” he hugged his aunt and kissed her cheek.
“Is this your adorable daughter I’ve heard so much about?” she smiled as Dillon scooped up his little princess into his arms. He kissed her cheek, “This is her, my Mia,”
“She is absolutely adorable, Dillon. Can I hold her?” she asked quietly. Dillon smiled and handed Mia over to Monica. “Emily talks about this little sweetheart all the time,” Mia played with her baby doll and babbled causing Monica to laugh. “We do miss you at the house, Dillon,”
Dillon gave her a half smile, “Thanks, Monica. But I don’t think we’ll be moving in at all. I’m doing ok with Sonny and Jason,”
She nodded, understanding what he meant, “But you’re always welcome. Your mother is back in Europe doing God knows what. We’d love to see you two around more, especially this little sweetheart,”
“Daaa dada dada,” Mia whined reaching for Dillon. Monica handed the baby over to her father. “Maybe we can stop by the hospital and visit you some more. But I don’t think I’m wanted in that house,” he chuckled.
Monica nodded again and sighed, “Dillon, we never wanted you to move out. But I understand why you did it. Your mother and grandfather can be two very stubborn and intense people. I’d run too if I wasn’t married to your uncle or owner of that house. But please come see us more often around here,” she smiled and gave him a hug. “I have to go finish my rounds. Goodbye, Mia,” Dillon waved tickled her stomach to get her to laugh. Mia waved goodbye as Monica walked down the hall. She turned around quickly, “How’s Jason and Sam and my grandsons?”
“They’re doing wonderful. They’re safe, I promise,”
“Keep an eye on them for me please. And give them a kiss for me please and Michael and Morgan as well,” with that she walked down the hall and into a patient’s room.
Dillon kissed Mia’s cheek and carried her towards the elevator. “Maybe we can see her more? Does that sound good? After all, she isn’t a Quartermaine by blood. That’s a plus. As long as we don’t have to see Grandfather or my mother, we’re good,” he laughed and Mia pulled at his crazy hair.
The elevator doors open, “Speak of the devil,” Dillon murmured under his breath.
The girls sat at a table at a cozy café in New York City. The various piles of bags spilled on to the floor. “I can’t believe Christmas in three weeks,” Georgie mumbled, biting into her salad.
“We still have so much shopping to do,” Carly murmured, placing her head in her hands.
Sam and Georgie both laughed. Georgie glanced down at her phone and saw that there was a text from Dillon. She read the message and smiled. He texted a simple “I love you” that morning. She must have been too busy to notice it was there until now.
“You just got a text message from Romeo didn’t you?” Carly asked and raised her eyebrow. She sipped her raspberry iced tea.
Georgie blushed and nodded. “I’m sorry! I just saw it now!” she chuckled.
No boys. No kids. Spend your man’s money. Have a good time.
Those were the only rules of the weekend, just as it was last year.
“You just can’t give the guy up for one weekend?” Sam questioned.
Georgie shrugged, “I guess I can’t,” she admitted. “I am just head over heels for him and Mia. I don’t know what it is about them. I can’t stop smiling whenever I’m around either one of them. My life is so much better now that I have the two of them, constantly. No more hiding and sneaking or being apart. We’re together forever. And I love that,”
“You deserve it,”
“You’re right. I do deserve it. You both found it. It’s my time I have happiness,” she laughed at herself for being a little conceited.
“I did find happiness. I have two gorgeous sons and a wonderful husband and a great life. It took Sonny and I long enough to get here,” Carly sighed.
“What do you mean?” Georgie asked.
“I mean Sonny and I have had major ups and downs in the past. It’s not easy being married to a mob lord,” she explained.
“Or anyone in the mob. Jason and I have had fights, especially about kids. It took him a long time to warm up to the idea of trying for kids. He felt his life was too dangerous, but he didn’t want to change. Nor do I want him to. I think,” Sam said.
“Sonny is very intense when it comes to his business. He keeps me out of things. There have been secrets and fights over those secrets. They’ve come close tearing us apart a couple times,” Carly added.
Georgie sat there and soaked it all in. Her life was so perfect with Dillon. She knew about the danger. She knew what to expect. Or at least she thought she did. But Dillon was different from Sonny and Jason. He was the quirky film guy with crazy as hell hair. He loved to ramble about movie stars and take walks in the park with Mia. He made her romantic dinners of macaroni and cheese or spaghetti. He loved to eat cheese fries and pizza at Kelly’s after seeing a movie at the old theatre on Marigold Street. That was Dillon. His job didn’t define him, not like Jason and Sonny. He would never keep anything from her. She thought. She hoped.
“I don’t know how you two can handle it all. It’s so dangerous. How do you not live in fear?” Georgie asked timidly. The thought had been pondering around in her brain for the past couple months.
Sam paused for a moment, trying to choose the right words. “It’s not easy, Georgie. Fear is much easier to give in to the fear than being brave. But you can’t live that way in life. Especially not with kids,”
“It’s just I feel like I’m constantly looking over my shoulder now. I mean I know there are enemies out there and with Dillon getting more involved. I’m just afraid sometimes,” she said quietly. It sounded so wrong to admit. But it was the truth. And sometimes the truth needed to be said.
“It will be ok, sweetie,” Sam put her hand over Georgie’s and gave it a squeeze.
“I know,”
Edward Quartermaine was early today for his meeting at the hospital. A stop to see his only granddaughter seemed to be a perfectly wonderful time filler his mind.
He stepped off the elevator in pursuit of finding Emily but instead found Dillon. His delinquent grandson and his illegitimate great grandchild.
“Dillon!” he exclaimed.
“Hello grandfather,” Dillon mumbled through his teeth.
They paused for a moment unsure what to say to each other. Finally Edward spoke. “Is that your daughter, young man?”
Dillon nodded, “Grandfather, this is Mia. Mia, this is your great-grandfather,” he said, still staring at Edward.
Mia reached out from Dillon’s arms to Edward. He looked startled but gave her a smile. “She seems to be a very happy baby,”
Dillon rolled his eyes and chuckled, “She is, grandfather,”
“I heard you and the commissioner’s daughter are getting married,” he stated stiffly.
Dillon nodded, “We are,”
Edward huffed, “I don’t think it’s a very good idea. You both are much too young,”
“We don’t think so,”
“Young man, you will not talk back to your elders. I can see that that cousin of yours, the other hoodlum, is corrupting you,” he
“Grandfather, can you please leave Jason alone! Honestly. It was my choice, my choice to leave the asylum you call a home. And plus, Emily’s the one who suggested I move in with Jason, so yeah!” Dillon’s voice rose. Mia began to pout and her lip began to quiver. A cry wailed through the waiting room of the pediatrics wing at General Hospital.
Emily Cassadine walked into the waiting room right into a sight in front of her. Her cousin was arguing with her grandfather while trying to calm the daughter in his arms. She walked right over to them and took Mia from Dillon and rocked her back and forth. “You two are behaving like children!” she scolded quietly. Mia’s cries turned into hiccups and she began to pull at Emily’s stethoscope. “So stop it!”
Both men shut their mouths and nodded. Dillon scooped his curious daughter out of his cousin’s arms and held her on his hip, “Mia and I are actually supposed to go and visit Jason and the boys at Kelly’s for lunch. You’re more than welcome to join us,” he kissed her cheek, “Bye, Em,” he stared at Edward and walked away, “Goodbye Grandfather,” he stepped into the elevator, “Dillon!” Emily shouted. “Did you find Georgie’s Christmas present yet?”
Dillon chuckled and shook his head, “Tomorrow, you, me, and Mia. We’ll find something!”
Emily smiled and gave him the thumbs up. The doors closed and Emily turned to her grandfather, “So, how are you?”
“Georgie, you should have seen it. It was just so awkward talking to my grandfather,” Dillon said that night to her on the phone.
She rolled onto her stomach on her queen sized bed and laughed, “I’m sure it was,”
“Yeah,” he smiled, “So what did you three do today?”
“We saw Legally Blonde! Oh it’s so good! You’d love it,”
“I highly doubt I’d want to see a chick flick musical covered in pink,”
“True,” she laughed, “We also went to dinner and went ice skating and shopping!”
“How much am I in debt now?” he laughed.
She looked at her piles of bags on the floor. “Just a few things, like some Christmas presents for some special people in my life,”
“What did you get me?!” he asked, excited and sat up on his bed.
“I didn’t get anything for you,” she clearly lied. “I shopped for this cute little girl I know who I miss incredibly and for some other people. But I didn’t buy anything for you,”
“Well that’s ok,” he said quietly, trying to guilt trip her. He paused for a moment, “I didn’t buy you anything either,”
She laughed on the other end. “Well, I think I have to go. Our chick flick movie marathon is about to start. I’ll see you tomorrow. I love you,”
He smiled, “I love you too. Sweet dreams baby girl,”
Georgie walked out into the living room and sat on the couch. She took a handful of popcorn, “Let’s get this marathon started!”

Chapter Twenty-Nine
Georgie trudged out of her class and down the stairs towards her car. It was only a week left until winter break. It was her last class on a Friday and unfortunately it ended late. She had a date with Dillon and Mia that night. It was her one night of fun before she studied her weekend away for midterms.
She walked out the double doors and quickly moved towards her vehicle. She stopped outside the driver’s door and dug through her purse for her keys. She could never find them anymore. Random items and baby needed things filled her large bag as she rummaged to find those pesky keys. She located them, after much searching and went to open her door, when something caught her eye. A note on her windshield was what caught her attention.
Next time things won’t be so lucky.
Georgie read the note once, and then again. She looked around the parking lot to see if anyone was around. The area was deserted and the wind gave her a chill. She quickly picked up her bag and hurried back into the student lounge.
“Thank you, Max,” she mumbled as he walked her to the door of Dillon’s apartment.
“I’m glad you called me,” he said. She gave him a half smile and opened the door to Dillon’s apartment. Dillon, Sonny, and Jason were all sitting at the dining room table. Dillon quickly got up from his seat and headed over to Georgie. He pulled her into a tight hug and kissed her forehead. “How are you? Are you ok?” he put his two hands on either side of her face. He needed to make sure she was ok. The thought of her being hurt or threatened because of him made Dillon sick on the inside. She kissed his cheek, “I’m fine. They didn’t hurt me. They just left this on my windshield,” she handed Jason the note. The three of them read it while she walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water. She returned shortly and saw the three men discussing things. She made eye contact with Dillon and hoped he got the hint that she really didn’t want people over right now. He did.
Georgie sat on the couch and Mia toddled over towards her, “Hi sweetheart,” she said quietly. Georgie picked her up and placed her in her lap. Mia laid her head on Georgie’s chest and sucked her thumb. Georgie rocked her back and forth while they watched a movie. She brushed back her light brown curls and kissed her forehead, “I love you,” she whispered.
“Umm, I don’t mean to kick you out, but I’m kicking you out,” he joked quietly.
Jason and Sonny understood. “We’ll talk about this later,” Sonny got up from the table and gave Georgie a hug, “Everything is ok. Don’t worry. We’ll take care of this,”
Jason nodded and waved goodbye and the two exited the apartment.
Dillon sat down next to Georgie on the sofa. “Are you ok?” he asked.
“I’m fine,” she said, shifting Mia in her lap.
“Are you sure?” he insisted.
“Dillon, I am fine. Ok?” she placed Mia in his lap and got up from the couch, “I’m going to make a sandwich. Do you want one?”
Dillon shook his head and followed her into the kitchen. “Are you sure you’re fine?” he asked again.
She spun around and sighed loudly, “I am fine. Ok? Just let me make myself a sandwich,”
Dillon nodded and walked into the living room. He picked Mia up and tossed her into the air. “Alright shortcake, what should we do?” Mia laughed at him and pulled at his unruly hair. “Why don’t we go visit Carter and Gavin,” he grabbed her diaper bag and blanket and headed towards the door, “We’re going to give you some alone time, ok?”
She gave him a half smile and nodded. Dillon walked over to her and kissed her forehead. “I love you,” he whispered.
“Love you too,” she whispered back.
Georgie and Dillon lay in bed. It was late. For some reason, neither one of them could fall asleep. Too many thoughts ran through their heads.
“Are you awake?” Dillon whispered.
Georgie rolled over and looked at him, “Yeah,” she mumbled.
“Do you want to talk about anything?” he whispered.
“No,” she whispered back.
“It won’t happen, ever again. I’ll make sure of it,”
“I know,”
“Ok then,”
“Ok,” she sighed and rested her head on his chest.

Chapter Thirty
Georgie was officially on winter break. And to celebrate, Dillon was treating her to dinner at the Cellar. “I am proposing a toast,” Dillon announced, raising his glass, “To the love of my life who survived her first semester of college,”
Georgie blushed and clinked glasses with Dillon, “Thank you,” she smiled, “I’m so glad I’m finally be free from school,”
“Well we’re glad that you’re done too. Mia was forgetting who you were,” he teased.
She buried her hands in her face, “I know, don’t guilt me. I was studying like crazy for midterms for the past two weeks,”
Dillon pulled her hands away and kissed her fingertips, “I’m just kidding. I know you need to keep up your smart girl appearance,”
“Hey!” she giggled and smacked his arm.
“I’m just speaking the truth,” he said, putting his hands up in surrender.
She laughed and rolled her eyes.
“Are you ready to go home?” he asked wiggling his eyebrows.
“Oh, yeah, I can’t wait to put on my flannel pajamas and curl up with a blanket on the couch and a book,”
“You little tease,” he whispered and nibbled on her earlobe. She sighed and got up from her seat. Dillon came behind her and helped her into her long wool pea coat. “Why thank you,” she smiled.
“Of course,” he leaned down and stole a quick kiss.
They walked out of the restaurant with their fingers interlocked. Dillon fumbled through his pockets for his car keys. She laughed as he panicked.
“You mean the keys in the inside pocket of your coat?” she asked.
“How did you…?” he pondered off. Georgie just shot him a smile. “You’re amazing,” he said.
Georgie pulled out her cell phone and dialed her home phone number, “Hi Carly, its Georgie. How’s Mia?...thank you again for watching her…we should be home shortly…bye,” she hung up the phone and clasped her hand in Dillon’s.
A black car drove down the road. The speed increased. They were approaching the target.
Dillon and Georgie were laughing when Dillon saw the vehicle. His eyes grew wide and Georgie turned around. A gun was peaking through the cracked window at the couple. Dillon pushed her down to the ground, shielding her body with his own. He reached for his gun and fired back at the vehicle.
The sound of shots rang into the seemingly quiet night. The car quickly sped away.
Dillon cradled her tiny frame in his strong arms below him. “Are you ok?” he asked, searching her body for any problems.
Her face was pale. Her eyes were wide. “What…what…what was that? Who was that?”
He brushed some stray pieces of hair away from her face. A small cut above her eyebrow was bleeding heavily.
People emerged from the restaurant. Many of them on their cell phones. Dillon helped Georgie to her feet slowly. Her body shook in his tight grasp. He could hear her sobs against his chest.
An ambulance shortly arrived along with the police. Georgie was walked over to the paramedics to have her head looked at.
Officers surrounded Dillon with question after question. “I didn’t see their faces…it was black…I don’t know I didn’t see the plate number…I was too focused on my girlfriend’s safety than the plates...” he finally broke away from the officers over to the ambulance. Max was standing next to her as she was wrapped up in a blanket. A large bandage was across her forehead. Georgie’s eyes were red from crying. He scooped her into his arms and rocked her back and forth.
“I’m going to have Max drive you back home,” he whispered in her ear. She nodded and sniffled. “I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you too,” she mumbled back to him. He kissed her cheek and gave her one more hug. Max got up and showed Georgie to his car.
Mac Scorpio had just arrived at the scene of the shooting. He was tired. The cases seemed to pile up with no end in sight.
He saw Georgie walking with one of Sonny Corinthos bodyguards towards a car.
“Mac?” she said quietly.
“Georgie, what happened?” he said sternly.
“Someone fired at Dillon and me when we were leaving,” she said.
“You should get home,” he replied. She nodded somberly and got in the back seat of the vehicle.
Mac turned his back and walked over to Dillon Quartermaine. “You were supposed to keep her safe,” he seethed.
“Mac, I didn’t mean for this to happen. Honestly. I’m trying my hardest to keep her and Mia out of my work,” he tried to explain.
“Well you’re doing a hell of a job at it,” he yelled and walked away.
Georgie walked into her apartment. Her eyes felt raw and her cheeks were wet. Carly put down her magazine when Georgie opened the door, “So how was dinner? Did you two have fun?” she asked.
Her eyes met Georgie’s and instantly she realized something was very wrong. “Are you ok? What happened?”
“We were shot at,” she choked out.
Carly pulled her into her arms. She had no words to say. Nothing could comfort her.
This was real.
Dillon rushed into the elevator. He pressed the button of his floor and waited for the doors to close. Nothing seemed to be moving fast enough for him to get home. He needed to make sure the two most important things in his life were safe.
He felt his cell phone vibrate. “Hello?” he answered quickly.
“Dillon, Jason and I need to talk to you now,”
“Sonny, I am in no mood. I just want to see Georgie. Can we talk in a little while?”
“No, we need to discuss your safety as well as Georgie and Mia’s now,” and Sonny hung up the phone.
Dillon groaned and pushed the button for the floor above.
He knocked on Sonny’s door. Jason opened it and Dillon walked into the penthouse, “Can we please make this quick? I would like to go see my girlfriend and make sure she is ok,” he said.
“Carly is with her right now,” Sonny said.
“That’s wonderful. But I need to see Georgie,”
“Fine,” Sonny said. “What happened tonight was no freak accident. It was De Luca,”
Dillon nodded sternly. He clenched his jaw. No one was going to harm his family. He wouldn’t allow it.
“We want you to take Georgie and Mia to my private island for a little while,” Sonny continued.
Dillon stared at him for a moment, “What?”
“We want you three to leave town for a little while. Obviously, this guy has a problem with you because of your involvement with Alcazar and us. Sonny and I are going to try and figure some things out. But in order for you three to be safe, we need you away from Port Charles,” Jason explained.
“How are we going to know what is going on if we’re not here. I want to be involved in the safety of my family!” Dillon demanded.
“I understand that,” Sonny said, “But you have to trust Jason and me. We’ll keep in contact regularly with you guys, we promise,”
“What about your wives and kids? Are you going to let them be put at risk?” Dillon asked.
“As far as we know, the risk is on you, Georgie, and Mia. If a threat is made in our families, then we’ll take the necessary precautions,” Jason said.
Dillon nodded and got up from the table. “I need to go see my family,” he said sternly and walked out the door.
Georgie sat on the couch in the living room, curled up in Carly’s arms. Her eyes were red and blood shot. She sniffled and looked out the window. The cold wind blew hard against the glass panes.
Dillon opened the door and rushed over to Georgie. She turned around and ran into his arms. He scooped her up and held her close. “Oh, Georgie, I am so sorry. I’m so sorry,” tears welled up in his eyes.
Carly got up from spot on the sofa. “I’m going to go home,” she whispered and gave Dillon a small smile.
“Thank you,” he mouthed to her.
Dillon pulled Georgie over to the couch and she sat down next to him. “How are you?” he asked.
She took a deep breath and tried to compose herself. “What was that?” she asked.
“I don’t know,” he explained quietly, not making eye contact with her.
Georgie blinked back tears, “What do we do now?”
“We pack,” he said simply.
“What?”
Dillon inhaled, “I talked to Sonny and Jason and they think that the best idea for the three of us right now is to get out of the country. We leave in fifteen minutes,” he said.
Georgie nodded and silently walked into the bedroom. She started pulling clothing out of drawers and placing them on the bed. He grabbed their suitcases out of the hall closet and began placing their clothing inside.
Georgie reached for a pair of Bermuda shorts from a drawer in her dresser and began to cry uncontrollably.
Dillon rushed over to her and bent down in front of her. “Georgie, what’s wrong?” he asked quietly and brushed back her hair.
“You had a gun,” she sobbed.
His eyes grew wide and pulled her close to his chest. He rocked her back and forth, “I am so sorry, Georgie. I’m so sorry,” he whispered.
Georgie dried her tears away and walked into Mia’s nursery, quietly and started packing some of her clothes. She prayed that some of her summer attire would still fit.
Dillon zipped his suitcase up and wheeled it into the living room. He walked into the kitchen and packed up Mia’s diaper bag with some things she’d need.
Georgie headed back into the bedroom and quickly placed the rest of her clothing into her suitcase. She grabbed some cosmetic items and threw them in a bag. She zipped it shut and wheeled it into the living room where she found Sonny, Jason, Carly, Sam, and some of Sonny’s bodyguards waiting for them. Mia was quietly sleeping in Dillon’s arms.
“Ok, let’s go,” Sonny said quietly. Georgie hugged Carly and Sam goodbye and followed Dillon out the door towards the elevator.
Dillon placed one arms around her waist and held her close. He kissed her temple and she rested her head on his chest. “It will all be ok. I promise,”
