Chapter 11
Jason and Gia infiltrated the Cassadine isle by boat. The fog of night caught by the moon, an eerie but useful condition. Dragging it on shore Gia groaned to herself, while Jason shook his head. Why did he bring her along?
Yes, why did he? Simple put, because Morgan had a sit down with Miss Campbell laying out all risks to Nicholas's life. So they argued for one moment until Gia finally agreed. (After calling him the godfather Thug, Brainless Maximus, and of course her favorite, GI Joe.) Point is, she’d listen, but messing up the outfit wasn’t an option. Dressing her best to see dear Nic again in a camo T and skintight black pant, She seemed ready for anything… Actually dragging a boat to shore.. that stretched it.
Covering up their escape route with a few branches and debris nearby, Morgan then used binoculars to eye out the guard shifts, including where they located themselves.
“The Balcony over there. It’s an inclined rock face we can climb, where the guards don't seemed to be taking watch..” Whispering and indicating to Gia the wash below and steep climb.
“Ok, we are not playing Romeo and Juliet are we? Because I’m not risking my butt for your shining moment with pretty kitty.”
If he had any idea of what she meant he didn’t seem to care, just moving on ignoring that one. Time, something to valuable at this point, sponged up by the rock climb. Jason held Gia down close to the face when he heard anything. As much as she wished to scream at him, she couldn’t because he also caught her when she slipped. Finally reaching the top, the balcony above them, He started climbing the vine trellis while Gia was lookout. Just inside the balcony a man faced the opposite direction, an M-16 at his side. Taking the closest potted plant Jason cracked it over his head. Way too easy….
Helping the little firecracker up, he led them through the halls. “Did Nicholas every talk about this place to you.” Hushed tones.
Under pressure, Gia still had it all. “He said something about looking out towards the gardens at night from his room.”
Nodding Jason led them to towards the west wing. Carefully hiding inside the shadows, taking a guards down here and there Gia even got one with an expensive vase, instantly regretting it. “I could have feed the world with that thing!”
Putting his finger to his lips, uneasiness rolling through. Something wasn’t right and he couldn’t put his finger on it. Reaching the west wing only lead to more questions. Which room?
Gia frowned. “Hey how was I supposed to know they all have a view of the gardens?”
Just then, one of the doors opened and a guard stepped out. Jason shoved his companion inside the nearest room. Listening for the guard to leave, he didn’t notice Gia move away.
“Ok, he’s gone… Gia? Gia? “ Turning around the corner Jason folded his arms and coughed deliberatly. “We have to leave…Now!”
In the middle the bedroom Gia and Nicholas were lip locked. Something entirely too comical and way too fortunate. When Jason interrupted, for once in his life Nicholas actually smiled in his presence. “So are you the rescue party?”
“Not if we don’t get moving.” Always serious. “Where’s Elizabeth.”
“I’ll show you.” Nicholas headed towards the door.
“No wait. Just let Jason go. We’ll be safer here than letting the guards catch us all.” Gia was right. How did that happen?
“Two doors down… Jason be careful, not the guards. Elizabeth’s… It’s been tough for her here.” Nicholas’s meaning entirely to clear.
“Is she hurt?” For the first time his worst fears slipped through.
“No, not physically, yet anyway. I’ll let her explain. Let’s just say getting her away from Stavros is key.”
Nodding Jason slipped out the door and into Elizabeth’s room. That uneasy feeling welled up in his gut. Moving forward, he found her in an uneasy sleep. Her porcelain face paler than usual, her eyes smudged with dark circles. Even in the white linen pajamas, Jason could see she’d lost weight. Not just some, a lot. What the hell was going on here?
Leaning down to touch her still glossy hair, grown long again and with an auburn glow. Elizabeth seemed to settle with one touch. One touch that sparked Jason’s life once again.
“Elizabeth…Elizabeth, we need to leave.” Slowly waking, her eyes fluttered.
Waking with Jason’s voice in her head. Wonderful, another step into her psychosis. Dr. Collins was gonna have a field day with her when she returned. Correction, that’s if she returned. Rolling around she hit something … someone. Slowly drawing her eyes up.
"Jason!” Elizabeth’s arms swung around his neck. Praying a heartfelt thanks. Her first sight of him, totally unusaual. Black T and Camo pants. Still way to sexy.
Her slight form in his arms, renewed every memory tenfold. His heart hammered inside his chest. Thank god, she was alive.
Pulling her back. His hands cupping her face. “Are you alright?”
How she missed those icy blue heavens. His eyes always full of love just for her. “I’m fine, but what are you doing here. I excepted Luke, maybe…” Cutting herself off from talking about that jerk.
‘Lucky?’ he thought
"Roy.” Good save Elizabeth. Whew!
Jason knew better, but let it drop. He just wanted her safe. Picking her up from the bed, wishing to just hold her forever, but instead setting her down on the bare floor, “Get dressed in something warm.”
Elizabeth snorted. “Like that’ll be easy.” Heading over to the drawer, picking out another set of thicker linens, sneaking a peek at him to make sure he truly existed.
Jason just stood there with is hands on his hips.
“Are you gonna just stand there or can you turn around?” Jason’s eyebrows lifted in challenge, making Elizabeth flush slightly with wonder. What if?
He turned around, “Hurry, Gia and Nicholas are waiting.”
“Gia? Now how on earth did she get here?” Slightly muffled by dressing.
“She followed me.” Simple put.
Jealousy stabbed her, but Elizabeth trusted Jason. ‘I’m ready. Let’s go.”
Jason swung around. These linens were barely thicker than what she wore a few minutes ago. “Are you sure you don’t have anything warmer?”
“Positive.” Why did he get the feeling that she hated them? Shaking his head they both head towards the door.
Collecting Nicholas and Gia, they all headed out towards the boat. No guards. Something was definitely wrong. Jason stopped before they hit the balcony.
“Nicholas is this isle guarded heavily.”
“Yea, why. Is something wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong, it’s just GI Joe is a little nervous he didn’t get to blow anything up.” Gia added.
Elizabeth just frowned at her wondering just how long Gia followed Jason.
Nicholas eyed Elizabeth’s frown. “Are you ok?” Rubbing her shoulder.
“Yea, I’m fine.”
Gia lifted her eyebrows, just how close did they get?
Jason was to busy searching the grounds with his binoculars again. No one. Dread. Sudden and urgent.
“Nicholas is there another way off this Isle.”
“Why didn’t you bring a boat?”
“Just answer the question” His stonewall raising, Elizabeth sensed something was terribly wrong.
“Over on the south side is a few yachts.”
“A few?” Gia gasped.
Not giving either of them a chance. “Lead the way and hurry.”
“I don’t think so.” All four swung around to face not only an army of guards, but Stavros Cassadine.

Chapter 12
An army of guards with gun....Did I miss that??
“Did you truly believe I’d let you go?” His eyes were not on Nicholas. Jason trailed his focus. It was on Elizabeth.
Stepping up, shielding her from this man. Dark and tan, in his 30’s maybe 40’s, definitely taller, but what worried Jason the most was his eyes. Twisted, with a dark light, Stavros reflected evil he meant to cause.
A wicked grin spread across his face when Jason cut his off view of Elizabeth. “I presume I speaking to the thug, Jason Morgan.” Head inclined.
Narrowing his eyes, Jason folded his arms in a stance. “What’s it to you?”
Taking that opening, Nicholas stepped forward, his arms spread wide. “ Stavros, let them go and I’ll…”
“SILENCE!!!!” His voice echoed throughout the castle, making his own men jump. “There will be no deals!”
Using that to his advantage, Jason glanced over the baloney. No guards, he clasped Elizabeth’s hand firmly.
Settling down to look at the foursome. “I see Miss Campbell, my son’s past girlfriend.” Gia fired up, but Nicholas caught her wrist in warning.
“I see a man who has nothing to do with this risking his life… for what? Money? No, you and Corinthos have lots of that. Elizabeth perhaps?” Darting a look around Jason. “Armies built at the sight of her grace and beauty.”
Nicholas noted the quote, puzzled, while Gia rolled her eyes.
Stepping ever further into his line of view, Jason responded forceful and even. “You have nothing I want.”
Stavros walked a line. One side the hall to the other, his hands cupped behind his back, not in the least worried. “Where’s Luke? Or Lucky for that matter? Doesn’t he want his bride back?”
Jason felt Elizabeth flinch. His hand caressing hers in comfort. Did Jason know it was over? Staring at his back, she spotting the rope at his belt.
Stopping a few feet in front of Jason. “No answers? “Perhaps your nephew Michael might entice you.”
The threat to Michael near buried him. No think, Sonny had him. Jason stood his ground.
“Give me back my property, and I won’t kill the boy. It’s simple.” That twisted evil grin turned on Elizabeth’s face. Jason felt her shake.
“You’re bluffing.” As always calm and cool.
Stavros’s eyes glittered in menace. Walking away instantly and raising his arms. “Fine! Kill them all.”
The guards had their guns raised. Ready to fire. Jason pushed back toward the balcony, giving Nicholas warning. Elizabeth finished tying the rope, her hands shaking.
“Stavros No!” The guards held their ground somewhat relieved.
“How dare you interfere mother!” Instantly grabbing her by the throat. “I said kill them.”
“Nicholas too? Your own son?” Her voice barely a whisper.
Something flickered in his face, letting her go, ever so slowly. “Very well. I want them arrested.” His men acted immediately.
All four ran towards the balcony edge using the rope to jump.
Helena noticed before Stavros. “No, Nicholas!
Turning, just in time to meet Jason’s eyes challenging Stavros before he jumping down free. Running right up to the side, pushing his men aside, staring down into the ground. Nothing on the cliffs. “FIND THEM!!!!! You fools! Your fates will be worse than death! Grabbing one of the men by the collar throwing him of the cliff.
“I will not lose my prize to Morgan.” A growling whisper of promise that Jason was now a dead man.
“Why are we back here?” Nicholas asked. Brushing his fingers across some books.
“They’re combing the shore for us? Hello! Here is much safer. Did you see that man’s height? That alone frightened even me.” Gia shook her head.
Jason hadn’t let go of Elizabeth’s hand. He had helped her jump down using him as a cushion. Nicholas did the same for Sparky. Now, they were all standing in the study waiting for a game plan.
“We have to get out of here first thing.” Elizabeth’s voice finding its self, staring up at Jason.
Just realizing what she meant Nicholas chimed in. “She’s right. Stavros and Helena are probably headed straight here to talk.
“Ok, Luke showed me the layout to this place, but I’m sure you have a better clue where to go. Is there any secret passages or something?” Jason asked.
Like a light turning on, the Cassadine prince headed towards a bookcase. “Stephen showed me this when I was a boy. Perhaps we can hide here for awhile. The shelf pulled back slightly.
Stepping in to look, Jason ignited a lighter. Dark tunnels leading to who knows where? “Ok.”
Moving towards the desk, searching for something. “We have to find something for light. Handkerchiefs paper anything that will burn.
The rest joined in searching the whole room. While checking the cabinets, Jason came face to face with the Faberge Egg.
”This is what you seek”
Noticing his sudden halt. Elizabeth wavered towards him. “Find something?”
Swallowing, he picked it up off the stand. “I’ve seen this.”
Nicholas and Gia came up behind him. “How. Even I haven’t seen it before. “ Hoping to shine some light on the matter.
Jason stared into Elizabeth’s face. A flicker of something… Longing and something curious. Turning back to the group. “We’re taking this with us.”
“Oh no!” Taking the egg and placing it back on its stand. “Do you want Stavros trailing you to ends of the earth? I don’t. That Egg is something, god only knows what, but way to precious to him, let alone Helena.”
“All the more reason to steal it.” Gia slide in.
Elizabeth stood back watching Gia. Since when did she continuously defend Jason? Glancing back, something wasn’t right. As if he were in another world….
You see this is the key, Lenin didn’t know it then, but he failed.
Footsteps….
“Helena and Stavros.” Elizabeth warned.
Grabbing all they could the four closed themselves inside the tunnel; the Faberge Egg left behind.

Chapter 13
After his immediate arrival, Stephen headed straight to Alexis's place. Knocking continously to find her gone. Frustration boiled his blood. Where was she?
"Hey! If your looking for Alexis, she's over here." Sonny grinned.
"Just tell her I'm waiting."
"You don't get it do you Stephen. This is a meeting and your being paged for attendance."
Sonny's arrogance, infuriated him, but what he had to ask couldn't wait. "Very Well." Marching himself into his penthouse.
Sonny smiled. "This will be interesting." Closing the door.
Stepping inside, Stephen faced, Alexis, Sonny and Luke. Pointing out their disapproval, both rivals yelled. "Why is he here!"
Alexis and Sonny almost laughed. Quickly recovering when both men gave them a death look.
"Ok, both of you are looking for the same thing on this one. What is Helena and Stavros up to and why Elizabeth Webber. I'm sure both of you have answers so let's share shall we. Jason is out there and needs our help." In a professional pace Alexis spelled it out.
"Morgan? The criminal who got Nicholas shot?" Stephen roared.
Taking another drink of whiskey. "I wasn't to thrilled either." Luke replied
"Hey I got them to agree on something. Your turn." Throwing her hand in the air before passing the buck off to Corinthos.
"Ok, we know Elizabeth Webber was kidnapped. Why? It's not about the Spencers or other Cassadine relations."
Neither offering info Sonny continued. "Let's try this approach then. Nicholas and Elizabeth are waiting on that island hoping for what. Our help? Not if we don't work together. Getting them off that island is just the beginning. Do you really think that Helena will let it go...Like he did you Luke...Or you Stephen. Come on now. This is bull. Your stubborness is going to get these two killed! And for what?"
"Ok, ok, I get your point. All I know is that Elizabeth isn't a Webber."
Stephen turned to face Luke in utter shock. "Your sure?"
"Of course I'm sure. I found out Natasha's heritage didn't I?"
Alexis coughed at that. "Well, he did and tried to blackmail me to boot."
Stephen looked straight towards her. "Did you find out anything about the Romanov fortune?
"I don't know why it matters, but yes I did. According to records, nearly two-thirds of the Cassadine empire would be in question. That is if a descendant existed. We both know there isn't. Lenien had the Bolsovicks kill the Romanov royal family starting with the Czarich Nicholas and Empress Alexandria almost a hundred yrs ago."
Stephan rubbed his face. "I saw it Alexis. The missing Faberge Egg."
"That's impossible. Isn't it?" Suddenly realizing the direction this would take them.
"Ok, clue me in. What the hell is this Egg?" Luke demanded.
Stephen didn't volunteer so Alexis did. "Remember the story of Anastasia? How everyone in Russia hoped she was alive. Well, what no one mentioned is the Czar's son, Alexei or Alexander on English soil. It was rumored he was shot dead in the snow or drowned with his dear sister. One account know only to the family is that Alexander lived because a solider loyal to the family grazed his ear making it look like a head shot. Of course everyone knew the boy had a blood disorder so he would have died eventually anyway."
"Ya, Ya, that's all good an nice, but what's your point Natasha."
She stepped closer to Luke a little smug. "My point Luke is if he survived. If he produced offspring, the Cassadine fortune belongs to them and all this madness, well let's say Helena would be hard pressed to tell the Czar or Empress of Russia what is thiers. The egg is a key to his existance."
"Ok, let's get this striaght. We are looking for a crown prince or princess? I thought Nicholas covered that." Sonny asked.
Stepping in finally Stephen shook his head. "No, no. He's a Carsak prince. The Russians Anknowledged our family only if we linked into thiers. Hence starting the Cassadine Legacy."
"You mean Cassadine blood bath! Ok, I've heard enough." Luke headed towards the door, something immediately occurred to him and he wasn't sharing.
"You think she's Czar Nicholas's great granddaughter don't you." Stephen's words stopped Luke in his tracks. "It makes sense. I mean Helena did try to get them together once before."
"Who?" Sonny asked.
Alexis stared really understanding. "Nicholas and Elizabeth...she's trying stop it by marriage?"
Luke looked at them all. "It makes sense. Twisted as it sounds, but what if Elizabeth refuses?"
"Helena will be forced to kill her instead of running the risk." Stephen added.
"There's one problem than, because Elizabeth is in love with Jason."
All parties looked towards Sonny. "What? It's true! Elizabeth turned down Nicholas and headed straight to Jason after the fire and even when Lucky came back, she still went to him."
"If this is true. Then Miss Webber, may be in bigger danger than we realized."
"Do you think Stavros would do that?" Alexis asked.
"What?" Sonny was definately in the dark here. Deciding mob work was simplier.
"He'll do what he did to Laura. He'll make her his." Luke paled and even Stephen's concern marred his face.
"So we wait for Jason." Alexis put tapping her nails on the desk.
"No, no, we keep digging. If Helena has proof of Elizabeth being royality then I'll find it." Luke headed for the door.
"The key is in the Faberge Luke. You can't possibly get it from Stavros." Stephen actually held him back.
"It maybe the key, but she discovered it somehow. I'll just discover the roots." With that Luke left leaving them all in dread for one girl's life.

Chapter 14
Crouching in darkness, the foursome held silent as Helena and Stavros conversed, hoping for a crumble of muffled information.
“There is no sign of them, in the beach or the water.” Heading straight for the Faberge’s cabinet, Helena checked its contents.
WHAM!
Stavros’s anger exploded onto the desk leaving a permanent dent. “This is your fault! If you hadn’t interrupted…”
“Nicholas would be dead to us! Do not blame me for flaws in judgement my darling son. Besides even if they escaped. Nicholas would return its Morgan who caused this chaos.”
“Yes, but what part does this he play? Is he the fool, the puppet, or pathetic enemy come to kill me?”
From a secret panel behind the egg, Helena pulled out the tiny golden puppy. “Morgan has been a thorn in my side for sometime now. I planned to use Elizabeth’s grief to attract Nicholas, then when Katherine died… Well, it was meant to be equally beneficial, but somehow that mobster wove his way into her life, forcing her to reject your son. By the time he left, that girl was a target. I could not expose my grandson. He’d already been shot once by a stray bullet meant for Morgan. He even interfered when Lucky returned, when Elizabeth neared her breaking point, Jason stepped in. If only Fasion had trained young Spencer better, Jason Morgan would already be dead!”
“I thought she became engaged to Lucky?”
“Barely. Even when I played him the victim I had to warn that fool girl my sights were set on her precious miracle.” Snorting. “Elizabeth actually challenged me. Little did she know I played her right into my hands.”
Inside the corridor, Elizabeth buried her head in revulsion, so easily manipulated. Nicholas’s head fell as well, cursing softly. Even in the darkness, each knew the other’s pain. Always friends, but to be used for it?
“Nicholas will come around. Our main priority is Elizabeth. We must get her back.” Helena held the golden dog like a talisman warding of certain destruction.
Instantly Stavros plucked it from her hands, staring at it as if the dog controlled his universe. “This is the proof of her family. Without it, there is no risk. She would be oblivious for the rest of her days.”
“ It’s running a great risk for the Legacy.” Not knowing if she meant Elizabeth’s disappearance or Stavros holding her tiny idol.
“So what is it mother? Alive or dead? She is a charming piece. Nicholas comes first, but if he refuses the gift we give him, I have other plans for our little lady.” His eyes glowing evil.
One hand slipped over Elizabeth’s waist. Jason pulled her close. Some of the fear trembling through her body disolved instantly.
Helena reached or the dog slowly. Perhaps a trip back to Port Charles then? It is the her home.”
“Yes, perhaps causing mayhem for my other sibling will bright my mood.” Stavros tossed the dog in the air once more before gently placing it in his pocket.
Watching with dread, reaching out for it. “Perhaps…”
His finger raised. “It stays with me.”
Kissing her hand, Stavros exited the study leaving Helena standing alone with nothing.
After a few more moments of silence, Jason checked the room. Clear. Ushering them all out from inside the darkness. Taking Elizabeth’s hand, that jolt of electricity still alive. Their eyes met for what seemed a lifetime lost.
“Ok, what is so special about Miss Muffet over here? I mean that whole conversation was about you!” Gia folded her arms not the least bit please she lived, let alone breathed the same air.
“Hey, hey. Look none of this is her fault. I don’t know why, but Helena has been pushing for Elizabeth and I to get together for a long time. Nothings come from it. Right Elizabeth?”
“Nicholas and I are just friends and that is all it will ever be Gia. As for the rest….”
“What about the rest.” Jason focused directly on her.
Swallowing, she darted her eyes away. “Well for one you’ve made a definite enemy of Stavros the second is more complicated.”
Stepping in to rub her shoulder, a look passed between Nicholas and her. “Jason if you knew right now I don’t think you’d act rational. Elizabeth would be better off telling you later.”
Jason knew this would take time, but without any outside involvement. “Let’s get this straight. Don’t tell me what I can or can’t handle.”
Elizabeth could feel his eyes burrow through her.
“Just tell the man already. I don’t feel like standing here all night when we could be on our way home.”
Nicholas silenced Gia with one weary glare.
Elizabeth’s eyes finally met Jason’s. His arms folded waiting for her to speak. It was so damn easy to talk to him before, but now telling him this seemed unfair, not only for that but for his involvement in this whole mess.
“Why did you come here Jason?”
Nicholas stepped away. She always knew how to change the subject.
“What does it matter If came here? You needed my help. “
“No, I meant why are you even involved? I don’t think traveling half way across the world to save someone who broke your heart qualifies for your type of protection.”
“Elizabeth this is not the time or place for this discussion.”
“And neither is the torture and humiliation I felt on this Isle. So let’s go. I want to be as faraway from this place as possible.” Already stepped back into the tunnels, ready to swim away if need be.
“At least some of her spunk is back.” Nicholas smiled. Taking a step after her.
Jason’s eyes narrowed, following the sway of determination…and her hips. God he missed her!
Gia glanced in his direction.” Still want this Egg?”
Snapping out of it, he quickly picked the whole thing up and placed it in some cloth.
“You know if we get through this Rambo. I just wanted to say. Thanks for saving Nicholas…and me.”
Jason nodded with a smile. Then both followed deep into the tunnels searching for a way out.

Chapter 15
Corridors turning left and right, damp and chilling, dripping of water, and scurrying of something here and there, truly kept the girls on their toes.
“If I even see a rat, I’m screaming.” Gia’s eyes darted around with disgust.
Grinning and pulling her closer Nicholas lead the way. “Come on now. If you scream the guards will come and then what would we do? Huh?”
“Look, all I’m saying is that the creepy crawlies of the night and I are not on friendly terms. So if I see one, watch me run the length of this tunnel two seconds flat.”
They all seemed to get a chuckle from that. “I’m with you Gia. A hot bath, my studio, and some real clothes for a change.” Pulling out her linen shirt, Elizabeth grimaced.
“What is so bad about linen?”
“Oh no. You had to open that can of worms didn’t you Jason." Nicholas shook his head.
“What? I just said I wanted REAL clothes, not some sheets sewn together.” Frowning at the hanging rags.
“Ok, you can’t deny you practically threw all your clothes out the window because for one solitary moment you had some bizare idea Helena might get the hint.” Raising his eyebrows still amused. “Tell them what happened Elizabeth?”
Something struck a nerve because Elizabeth instantly retreated. Jason caught the flash, too quick for the others. “ They restocked my drawers with much of the same. So what. I still don’t find it funny as you obviously do.”
“Well Elizabeth, I for one think you look lovely. Perhaps you should consider filling your wardrobe with it when we get home.” Gia couldn’t help the barb, pleased at its effect.
“Only if you wear it for your next big photo shoot.” Glaring in annoyance.
The cavern opened and dropped off in places filled with seawater. Pointing forward Nicholas explained. “There’s a straight drop down into the sea. It’s just below the cliffs. We’re headed for the other exit which lands us near the beach.”
“And where our boat is if they haven’t found it already.” Praying that was true, Gia and the others headed down the last stretch towards freedom.
As miracles might have it, their boat survived the guard searches, proving to Jason just how incompetent they were. Pushing out to sea just as dawn rose the foursome never looked back only forward into its beautiful first rays. Heading back towards shore only stopping to pick up bags stashed in a small ship used for their escape.
“Why the ship? Why not just take a plane home?” Nicholas asked Jason as he brought up the riggings.
“I’m assuming that where they expect us to go, so I bought this boat to carry us to Venice. From there we can head back to Port Charles.”
Standing over near the edge helping Jason, Elizabeth wonder why Venice? Just then, Jason moved up behind her, tugging in the last line of rope. The smell of musk and pure maleness, the heat of his body against hers, totally intoxicating, she melting her up against him.
Sneaking a peak, Elizabeth tried her damnest to heave that last line up. Aiding her proved a challenge. The second his arms wrapped around each side of her petite form hot energy spread between them. The smell of spring winds, reminding Jason of how much he dreamed of this.
Turning to face him, Elizabeth caught her breath. His eyes darkened, staring down at the cause. Trying to speak, trying to remember the question she meant to ask. His fingers grazed her lips, pulling her closer. Mere inches from heaven Gia rounded the bend. “Aw look Nicholas, Romeo does get Juliet in this version.”
Parting by a few steps both silently cursing Gia, Elizabeth dared, finally remembering her question.
“Why Venice? Damn did she always have to beat her to the punch? When they got out of this, Elizabeth and Gia were going to have some words, none of them nice.
Jason glanced out to sea. “I have contacts there in case we need help.”
There's something real between us, and it doesn't matter why it started. It… we have to decide what to do with it. Look, I don't wanna watch you hurt. I wanna see you smile the way you do when you're free, I wanna show you the light is different in Italy than anywhere else in the world. Will you come with me?
Her heart pounded in memory. Elizabeth’s eyes darted in Jason’s direction. Snow blue eyes met hers silently, but utterly aware.
“You sail and travel? Jason is there nothing you can’t do?” Another flowery comment from Gia and….
Knowing the flare in Elizabeth’s face Nicholas stepped in. “I have an idea. Why don’t we see if theirs anything edible on this boat.” Guiding her away.
Jason sighed a bit amused. “Gia getting to you.”
Elizabeth swung around eyebrows raised. “You think! God Jason, how did you stand it? I mean she’s impossible.”
Chuckling, he unfolded his arms to message her shoulders. “I’m not disagreeing with you trust me.”
Another spark flew Elizabeth made sure Jason understood. “I do… Trust you I mean.”
Pulling her into his arms, holding one another tight, both realized just how much they missed just this. "I know."
“Jason how do we turn on the… Oh sorry.” Gia interrupted again.
Sighing, Jason headed for the stairs below, reassuring Elizabeth with tight squeeze of her hand.
Elizabeth and Gia stayed up top; both wanted a few words….

Chapter 16
Two women, staring each other down, challenging with every breath. The boat couldn’t hold them both, one of them bound for blue, the deep blue.
“Well that was a little too convenient don’t you think? Jason gets within two feet of me and your all over him.”
“Get over yourself girl. I’m in this For Jason, not With. He doesn’t deserve a whining, self-absorbed Martha Stewart. He needs a REAL woman and you….” Summing Elizabeth up in one glance. “ Just aren’t it.”
Taking a step forward planning Gia’s death. “I’m not it? Ok, not only are you a blackmailing bitch, but your choosing Jason’s girls for him. Tsk tsk. You obviously don’t have a clue what you’re talking about here.”
“I know that you can’t even thank him for saving your sorry white ass, instead you ask him ‘why’. How brainless are you. Should I have the Clueless squad pick up the pieces for you? Elizabeth if that man gave me half the smoldering looks he gave you I’d be all over him like ice-cream making a sundae.”
*********
Below Nicholas and Jason heard the shouting, muffled, but still shouting.
“Should we stop them? Gia can get rough.”
Jason actually chuckled. “Then you never saw Carly and Elizabeth at it.”
Conceding with a smile. “No, but I heard Carly doesn’t play fair to start.”
“Nope. Never did never will.” Both men continued peeling potatoes.
************
Elizabeth pulled right up, stabbing her finger into Gia’s chest. “So is that why every time I get close to him you’re riding his ass? Jason isn’t some little lost puppy you can take home Gia. He’s a living breathing work of art and if Nicholas isn’t’ enough for you too bad. He deserves more than your rag tag attitude 24-7 anyway.”
"Like I’m afraid of a sanctimonious bitch like you? Tell me Elizabeth? Do you dream up ways to torture the people you love or do you like playing two sides?” Watching the glint in her eye. “That’s right move in on Nicholas and string Jason along, treating him like dirt. Isn’t that what you did with Lucky? Make love to him and rub it in Jason’s face? Personally I would have done it the other way around….”
With a whiplash, release Elizabeth dealt the first blow. It was on.
****************
“Aren’t you a bit curious as to what they’re saying?” Putting the roast in the oven, Nicholas glanced over at Jason flipping cards.
“Nope.”
“Why?”
Jason actually turned to face him, blue eyes directed upward in boredom. “Gia is jealous of Elizabeth’s time with you and Elizabeth is jealous of Gia’s time with me.”
“ Just like that and you know all the answers.”
“Never said I did, but the way they look or speak is a pretty good indication.
WHAM!!!!
Both men jumped up in shock. Scuffling followed and before Nicholas could ask, Jason had already climbed the stairs.
Gia laid up against one side of the boat’s railing wiping her oozing red nose with the back of hand. Elizabeth on the other hand crouched next to the dinghy with a bloody cut at the corner of her mouth. Both covered in scratches and what might be a few bruises later.
“Ok. What the hell happened?” Nicholas demanded.
Gia and Elizabeth’s eyes met. This wasn’t over. “Nothing. “ Both chimed.
Jason folded his arms, standing in front of Elizabeth. “Feel better?”
Rolling her eyes at him, she accepted his now extended hand. “No.”
That smile snuck in just enough for Elizabeth to see. “Don’t even. I’ve been practicing while you’ve been away. Even Jake gets a kick out my whipping some guy’s ass.”
Taken back, he raised an eyebrow. “I thought I was the one who’d started fights and you’d just be there to back me up.”
Wiping at her mouth again heading below. “Can’t back you up if you’re not around”
With that, he watched her disappear from sight, wondering what else had changed.
*************
“See what I mean. She pretends to love him and pushes him further away. Jason doesn’t deserve that!”
“Gia why do you care?” Nicholas tried to calm her.
“Look, we aren’t even going to go there. I respect the man ok. He saves me from being stoned to death by some Arabs back from the Dark Ages so I thought I’d watch his back.”
Nicholas had to love her. Taking a back the washcloth, he rinses it for Gia. “Did you ever think Elizabeth has a lot to say, but now isn’t the time or place.”
Making sure the bleeding stopped, she checked out her nose in the mirror. Satisfied it was fine she turned back to Nicholas. “Yea, I know, but as I said Jason deserves better.”
Giving her a warning look, Gia conceded. “All right! I’ll try harder to stay out Miss Muffet’s way. Just do me a favor. Tell her to stay out of mine.”

Chapter 17
His body rubbed against hers. Rigged and hard, his member grew. Doing his bidding accepted her fate, letting him inside. Trying to use her mind to conjure some other place, some other world, or even some other man…. Nothing worked she belonged to him. A cage wrapping around her, closing in tighter with each carnal slide. Then, when her private world almost took her away from this savagery, he let loose. Lucky poured his seed into her, crushing her spirit.
Then the shame and humiliation came of being used, and letting herself be used. A single tear, precious as glass, fell to Elizabeth’s pillow. This was her doing. This was her life choice and worst mistake.
Jason….
Darkness clouded the bed, Lucky, and even the walls leaving emptiness. Elizabeth found herself within it. In the middle in that same guilded cage of gold personified her prison for life. From the evil darkness came a man, as if he had always been there.
“This is your destiny” he whispered so close to her ear.
Turning around…nothing.
“You will never escape me.”
Again nothing. The cage closed in suddenly cutting her air. One hand held around her neck. Linens white fluttering, a small cut at her arm drew a single drop of blood. Like a river it spread, soaking it crimson. The air evaporating … She couldn’t breath. This was all her fault. She made the cage. She chose the wrong path and now there was no way out. The man holding her in emptiness…Stavros.
Elizabeth woke covered in sweat memories still to fresh. Shaking from fear, tossing the blankets aside she went above deck. The wind subtle, but freeing her madness. The stars shining so close that perhaps if she reached up…
“Elizabeth?”
Falling from her toes to her feet Elizabeth closed her eyes to his husky caress. He did not touch her, but she knew he was there. He could hear his heart beating even with hers. Finally finding the courage to face him, she turned.
Fathomless blue searched her soul for answers. The same soul always trying to reach out, but Elizabeth always seemed to stomp down with viciousness.
“It’s cold.” Pulling his leather coat over her shoulders.
Safe….
Licking her lips, her soul finally in sink with her mind. “I don’t deserve you Jason and I know why. I cannot fight, as I should. I couldn’t figure a way out of my life even when you offered escape. I created a web of lies, a guilded cage for myself that keeps returning to destroy me. What I’m trying to say is I will not come to you this way. I will not put you through anymore grief until I know for sure I can stand up for myself again. I thought I had, but it seems I keep slipping backwards….”
Jason watched her face play all the types of emotions he couldn’t even name. All sad, all bitterly hard to deal with. She loved him. He knew that, but something troubled her so much. Taking a deep breath touching the glittering tear underneath her eye, their contact a rush greater than the wind. Paralyzing sweetness unfolded. Elizabeth automatically lifted her face to his drawing them closer. His lips grazing hers, electrifying heat. Opening to him intoxicated by the pure taste. His tongue slide by caressing, torturing in sweet rapture. Slowing the kiss, settling, burning embers on the fire, hottest of all, but patient.
“I’m not going any where Elizabeth.” His voice a whisper clouding over the dream. Slowly he withdrew, letting Elizabeth ponder her life and the troubles she had yet to face. ********
Morning, and the brightest day of her life, Venice, the city of rivers and romantic piazzas only a yards away. Docking, Jason left to check on his contacts. Gia and Nicholas on the other hand left sightseeing. Elizabeth? Well she sketched. Apparently Jason thought of everything because not only did she have decent clothes, but a pad and a set of drawing pencils. Gliding her fingers against the delicate charcoal pieces, setting a spark off inside. Jason kissed her. The memory sending a shiver down her spine, wonder of wonders. He would have sooner, but…
The greenery around her so unreal. Like a haze of light and filtered by trees created some sort of ancient fairytale effect. The buildings high, covered in various colors, faded to become back ground instead of monstrous pieces of man made eyesores. So delicate and perfectly tranquil, this city spoke to the recesses of her mind.
Elizabeth made up that mind this morning. No more lies, no more hiding from herself and others, no more regression. Standing strong, with no regrets about the past, because she intended to rectify most the mistakes she made. Starting with Jason…. Oh yes, today she intended to tell him everything. About Lucky, about her life after he left, and even about the monsters, she stashed in the closet if need be. He meant to go on as if she hadn’t stomped on his heart. Elizabeth would do the decent thing and tell him she loved him and lied.
Her drawings came out perfect. Like with THE WIND, millions of times the art collectors wanted it. Each time she told them it already belonged to someone special. Now that same energy returned and Elizabeth knew that her art would flow like before. Jason did that to her. He melted all the barriers away, giving the strength to make herself happy. Staring down at her sketchbook, she realized what she’d done. It was Venice, with two people on the bridge before her. Trees surrounding the quite cove, only the river rippled by. It was Jason kissing Elizabeth just how it should be.

Chapter 18
The streets of Venice, unlike most of Italy, roamed in waterways lead by tiny boats and gondolas instead of narrow lanes. Jason passed one of the curious shaped boats; the driver singing to a couple snuggled up close and it wasn’t even evening. Instead, the light poured through the city like magic, gliding of the surface of water, glowing like crystals. Taking one last look at the gondola go by, Jason actually considered paying for one.
Entering a piazza near his contact’s home, a few children kicked a soccer ball across his path. Smiling at the bunch he missed the shooter up top the building watching. The Greek sniper waited for Jason this entire time, but unwilling to risk the children, stood down.
The children playing reminded him of Michael and the times he actually imagined being there when he grew up. Among the children in the center, Jason thought he caught sight of something, someone. Darting over towards the fountain, the water misting his face.
“Elizabeth?”
She was dressed in white roaming the streets? It was certainly believable considering, but he didn’t buy a white dress. Moving in closer to the fountain watching her gown soak itself with water, her nipples grew hard, the shape of her breast, the curve of her thighs completely exposed. Cursing and swearing when he got a hold of her…
The sniper cursed. Morgan moved too close to the fountain to get a shot off. First the children now this. Someday it did not pay to work for Helena, because if you failed you died….
“Elizabeth! What the hell do you think your doing?” Jason yelled, but when she didn’t answer his feet stopped dead in its tracks. “You’re not Elizabeth.
The woman turned around again. It wasn’t Elizabeth, it was some Italian girl playing coy with her beau The beau coming up quickly to kiss her. Shaking his head, turning away, Jason stood before the giant fountain. The engraving of a golden dog with red eyes stared him down, laughing at his current soaked position.
This is what you seek,,,
Still remembering those haunting memories in Greece. What was wrong with him? Did loving Elizabeth mean he’d gone crazy? Shaking it away, rubbing his hands and face in water to wake him up. His leather jacket would be ruined if he stood here much longer. His shoes sloshing with water, Jason decided against seeing his friend, he needed to get back to Elizabeth…and that damn egg.
Knowing Morgan needed his contact the Greek waited, but he never emerged from the fountain. Perhaps something spooked him, maybe leading off in the opposite direction. Death. His fate was death if he didn’t find him. Running across the rooftop, the sniper noticed Jason disappear around a corner. DAMN!
“I will shoot you down my friend, just wait.” The Greek packed his rifle away already planning his next move.
***************
Sharing a gondola and the fabulously warm weather, Gia and Nicholas kissed. Both totally involved with one another, obvious to the waterways being blocked off by angry boatmen.
Just before reaching the mass, a tomato hit her square in the face. “Hey what the… “
Nicholas stood up to defend her lady when he noticed two Cassadine coverts causing the ruckus.
“This is a 200 hundred dollar dress and I’ll get every penny from you s…”
Yanking her down hard against the base of the boat, covering her mouth, Nicholas prayed they weren’t spotted. Indicating to the gondola driver to head the other way, lots of Euro flashed in his face for speed. The gondola driver flashed a smile maneuvering away like butter on bread, the promise of money to tempting to pass up. Some yards away, the prince peaked over the ledge. No followers…. yet.
Searching below for somewhere to stash her notebook, Elizabeth came across the Faberge Egg. Her whole being stiffened in it’s presence. Carefully unwrapping it the rest of the way, she was dazzled by the intricacy of each glittering detail. The gold and red dazzled against the sunlight shining through the window taking her breath away. Footsteps climbed downward, stopping right behind her.
Knowing even before she turned. “So is everything set. Your contact ready for us?”
Knowing he was there and facing him were two separate issues, Elizabeth was dazzled by the intense blue. Jason focused only on her. His arms folded at his chest until he reached for the egg in her hands. Neither avoided the touch, the brush of fingers quickening their hearts. Standing there for what seemed years of missed moments, Jason broke it off. Taking the Faberge and heading over to the table to examine it.
“Did you figure out how to unlock it?” Jason’s question taking her of guard.
“What?” Finally realizing what he meant. “Oh, Yea, I think it’s a ring or something.”
So the dream or whatever he’d call it was right. The ring would open the Egg. Pulling it out from his pocket, not knowing exactly why he carried with him, the antique gold still mesmorizingly beautiful next to the red glass, most likely the largest ruby he’s ever seen.
“Jason where did you get that?” Elizabeth watched him examine the ring in his palm finding it utterly amazing. “It’s so old…and so beautiful.” She wanted it. No, needed it, though she didn’t know why.
Jason examined the Egg, searching for the place of the ring. “I picked it up in Turkey.”
Indicating to the barren spot. “So why did you buy it?”
After placing it where Elizabeth pointed out, the ring clicked. Instead of opening the Faberge, he glazed into her face. “I bought it for you.”
She blinked. The surprising statement sending shivers down her spine. The air crackling with heat. Elizabeth swallowed before asking the next question. “Why for me?”
Jason closed in, ignoring everything else. The sizzle of emotions simmering too close to the surface. His fingers gliding across her soft skin, trailing down from her shoulders to her hand. His eyes communicating the answer before his mouth. “I knew this would make you happy.”
He skirted it. Elizabeth finally realized he skirted subjects not to be pushed. Just like when she was with Lucky, but he didn’t tell her how he felt until She asked.
Already turning away Elizabeth jumped. “Jason.”
Glancing back, the heat still smoldering. God he wanted to kiss her, to hold her. Last night only fueled the fire. Kissing Elizabeth was kissing heaven, sweet and intoxicating. Even now her lips quivering, waiting just for him…
Full of intreptation, fiddling with her fingers. “I’m ready to tell you what happened. I..I want to tell you the whole truth I didn’t tell Nicholas.”
Her eyes clouded slightly at the last part. Jason held his breath praying for the best, concerned and fearful for the worst. Nodding slowly, his hands wrapping around her arms drawing her in not only for protection, but comfort. “I’ll listen.”
A faint smile curved her lips. “I know.”
Savoring the maleness of his body, the musky odor of leather and the melting of her middle controlled all her senses. “I lov….”
Gia jumped down the steps in a huff. Her breathing ragged with what could have been running. “Nich..Nicholas needs you…. We.. We have to go.”
Elizabeth actually believed her, but she still sent a warning glance for interrupting. Jason leaped to the ship’s dock in sudden haste
Catching the look Gia simple said, “Bite Me.”

Chapter 19
Upstairs on deck, Nicholas pulled in the ropes and rolled up anchor. If he didn’t know any better Jason would say the man was in complete fear.
“Oh god Jason! I saw them, Helena’s men; they were making roadblock out of the waterways. Gia and I almost ran straight into them.”
“So you think running in a boat will make much difference?” His arms folded and expression cooler than usual.
Confused, trying to figure out why they weren’t heading straight for Port Charles where they were safe. “It’s better than going back to that prison they call home. I won’t be forced into submission by anyone. Not even by you.”
“Put that anchor back down and I’ll tie the ropes back up. They’ll expect us to run right now. It’s better to keep quite and lay low.” He understood his fears, because if he failed not only would Nicholas go back, but Elizabeth as well.
Throwing one of the ropes back over Jason silently cursed why everyone one in the world had to interrupt Elizabeth and him when things got rolling. Elizabeth almost said it. At least he thought she intended to. Yanking that rope a little tighter, Gia certainly needed a talking to.
Instead of fighting, waved his hand towards Jason as if to give up. “I’ve pulled anchor so I'llhead below and check on the girls.”
He was never in the habit of explaining himself, almost letting Nicholas leave. With a quick sigh, Jason held him back with one arm across his chest. “Look, I was asked to bring you home and I will.”
Both men understood each other then. This wasn’t just about going home. It was about making it there alive.
************************************ Reaching for some water, slowing her breathing, Gia took in the Faberge slightly opened.
“Bite me? Come on Gia what could possibly be so important to interrupt us this time?” Elizabeth spat edged in irritation. How many times would people keep getting in the way of her relationship with Jason? First Carly, then Nicholas, Grams, Lucky, most of Port Charles, even all the way to Italy…. Enough was Enough..
Gia examined the Egg. “Psycho granny’s men are out there ready to turn us to stone and your worried about a little nookie? Come on Elizabeth. Besides it looks like you’ve discovered something much more interesting right here.” Gia’s eyes flashed with interest as she pulled out a gold emblem out of the Faberge. Two golden eagles facing each other in fierce resolve stared at both women examining the intricate piece.
“Wait! Turn it back that way.” Elizabeth spotted some writing. “Yea, near the bottom. Czarich? Alexei?”
Gia cocked her head to one side. “It’s in Russian, so we should ask Nicholas.”
“How do you know it’s Russian?”
“Hello you don’t live with Nicholas and not find out that he has tons of Greek and Russian literature on his shelves. Besides, he reads me some of their poetry… It’s kinda sweet really.”
For one moment, Elizabeth almost smiled, but instead she shifted uncomfortably. This wasn’t a bonding moment. No way was she getting cozy with this witch. Right? “Yea I can see him doing that you know. When I helped shop for his house the first thing he asked me to look for was shelves.”
“Don’t tell me your responsible for every piece in our house.”
Rolling her eyes back, guess that warm moment's over. “No, Katherine Bell and Stephen had some influence.
“Ok, your telling me old girlfriends and his estranged uncle are all around him. Now wonder he’s so down all the time. That’s it I’m going to have to redecorated the whole house!”
All her hard work and she meant to destroy it out of spite. Hell no. “Don’t you think you should ask Nicholas first. He did pick out some of it himself!”
“Oh no, and keep some of your momentos around. Girl I wondered why the place looked like Little Red Riding Hood’s cottage. The cottage needs my special touch not your.”
Hackles raised. “Oh, I can see it now. Pictures of the you scattered everywhere with mirrors on the ceilings.” Elizabeth laughed in mockery just before Gia shoved her against the wall.
“Oh, did I do that?” Her eyes fluttering fake innocence.
“Girls! Come on now. Helena’s men are scouring Venice right now as we speak and you two are already at it?” Nicholas bounded down the steps none too happy.
Cooling it instantly, Gia jumped in first. “So what did Jason say? Are we heading towards the airport?”
“Calm down. He said it be better to lie low. Though I think something or someone is distracting him.” His eyes pinned Elizabeth in urgency. “We need his head in the game or we aren’t going to live through this.”
The hint didn’t miss Liz. None too happy yet again someone interfered in her life and telling her how to live it. Yes, they were in danger, but did he have a right to tell her to cool it with Jason? “Don’t you think I know that? Beside I trust Jason enough to know he’ll get us through this.”
Not liking that she wasn't being the center of attention again, Gia showed Nicholas the Golden Eagles. Look what I discovered.” Pointing out the words at the bottom. “See there’s some words down here I thought you might be able to translate.”
“This came out of the Faberge?
“Yea why?” Curious why Nicholas looked like the anchor hit him upside the head.
“It’s the Romanov ensigna. The Russian Kings…. “Taking in blank looks from the girls. “Ok, you know when Lenin and Stalin took over the country back before World Wars began. Well this was the ruling family, before Lenin had them executed. The Czar Nicholas had a family of five at the time. Only one a boy with some kind an of blood disease. No one thought he survived. In fact the world whispered of Anstastia’s existence instead.”
“Ok, are we talking along the lines of that cartoon? Because I still don’t see the link between that and this million dollar seal.” Gia stepped in cutting off any questions Elizabeth had.
“Hold up Sparky. I’m getting to that. You see this egg isn’t supposed to exist, but apparently it does the name on here is Alexei, the air to the throne. If the Russian government knew this existed then they would be forced to investigate the true where abouts of the new Czarich and his family. Not only that, but if their was an actual living relative then half the fortunes of Russia belong to him or her according to thier laws.”
Suddenly Nicholas stepped away. His hands stroking his jaw. “That’s probably why Stavros wanted it so bad. If they find a family member then the Cassadine Legacy falls.
My family exists because of the Romanov generosity towards my Carsack brethren. You see my ancestors roamed the plains with chieftains instead of royal parties. We caused chaos and mayhem much like we do now, except when the world got smaller there was no place for us. The Romanov’s recognized our distinguished lineage and awarded us a Legacy and royal status in exchange to train their men in arms, and horse fighting. It proved beneficial, as long as we remained by their side. Well, the contract is broken because my family allowed for theirs to be massacred.”
Deep inside Elizabeth’s stomach turned. To be betrayed and murdered by your own brethren. A waste and certainly worth mourning for.
“The Romanovs were by far the most powerful and generous of all the royal families before. When they died the country mourned in secret because if they spoke one word in public they faced the same fate. Russia turned into a dangerous place, but by then my family had already fled to Greece, uncaring of what could have happened if the Cassadines stayed.”
Jason finally stepped down into the living area noticing the Faberge open. “What was in it?”
“The Czar Alexei’s ensignia.” Gia chimed. “It might be proof they exist." Rolling her eyes. " like I care.” Holding out the Eagles to Jason, she moved over to examine the Faberge once more, finding the ring.
Holding it Jason frowned, this wasn’t a dog. This wasn’t what he dreamed belonged there. Staring up blankly, Jason caught Gia almost slip Elizabeth’s ring on her finger. Quickly popping it out of her hands, he stuffed the antique into his pocket.
“Hey! I was trying that on Bugle Boy.”
“It’s not yours.” His voice a little gruff.
Completely missing the warning. “Then whose is it? I bet you the owner would sell it to me in a heart beat.”
Jason’s baby blues met Elizabeth’s autumn brown. Trepidation covered the simmering fire underneath. An answer wanted to be shared though now wasn’t the time.
Watching the spectacle they both made Gia sneered in disgust. “You think she deserves that piece of priceless history? Now I know your messed in the head Forest Gump.”
Elizabeth knew if she asked to wear it Jason would oblige, but nothing would be solved except gloating at Gia. Though that alone was entirely to tempting….
Perhaps when they reached home, she could finally get Jason alone, but for now the Cassadines loomed around the corner. Did they trap themselves by being here? Dread swift and paralysing froze her body. Giving a slight prayer. 'God keep all of us safe...Especially Jason.

Chapter 20
After laying low for a few days, Jason contacted Sonny with information about a possible leak in their cohorts. Instead of their original plan, he opted to drive to a secluded airfield where a chopper could pick them up, meeting Sonny’s jet in Germany. Nicholas took turns with Jason driving the few hours into the lush farmlands of Italy. Waves of grass set off by majestic view of the Alps further away, drawing in Elizabeth. One day she promised to come back just to paint such a glory of nature.
Reaching the air field four compact car doors slammed shut. Stretching his arms out Nicholas shook his head at the dinky piece of metal, they called a car, “I really miss my Jag right about now.”
“Hey, at least you had shot gun. I had to breath the same air as Tootsie over here.” Gia dusted herself off.
Rolling her eyes wondering if Elizabeth couldn’t just push Gia out of the helicopter on their way home. She complained the whole way down and even Nicholas told her to deal. Taking her bag out from the trunk, Elizabeth scanned the area. An abandoned house on its last legs, a shelter area for small aircraft, though there seemed to be a few holes in the roof. Barrels of oil scattered here and there while the runway stretched ahead in a gravel path.
“So we just wait?” Yelling, thinking Jason may be still up front with Nicholas. He reached over her shoulder for the other bags, grazing her arm, sent shivers of surprise sparked. Jason didn’t straight immediately and she didn’t pull away. Hooving so close to one another knowing so many words left unsaid between them. Elizabeth’s eyes glittering with wanting to confess while Jason set the bags back down.
“I love you Jason.”
Unexpectedly, he hit his head on the trunk’s hood in shock. “Owe!
Elizabeth almost laughed. His expression priceless until just then. “Are you ok? Some of the humor escaping.
Rubbing the back of his head gingerly, taking a step away from the obviously dangerous vechicle, “Are you sure?”
One eyebrow raised before Elizabeth considered what type of damage to his head possessed him to ask that. “Did you want me to repeat it? I love you Jason Morgan. I realized it the day you left Port Charles. I know this it’s the most appropriate time to tell you, but…”
Cutting her off Jason immediately stood at her side. “It’s fine.” One hand gently glided over her cheek, his eyes filled with emotions unchecked. She said it. Something he’d waited forever to hear. Each word sweeter than he could ever fathom. “I just never thought you’d say it.”
It felt so right. Everything in this moment completely clear. How did she live without him knowing that a few simple words held her freedom and the desire of her heart? Swallowing, Elizabeth’s lips parted in invitation, her eyes gazed joyfully into Jason’s.
Jason lowered his head, claiming her mouth. Nothing tender and gentle, just raw emotion and taking every ounce of her love, drenching himself in it, letting her know there was no turning back this time. How could she? Not only did Jason claim her mouth, but he awoke all senses in her body. His kiss brutally male, and completely possessive. Elizabeth opened to him, no holding back. Her arms wrapped around his neck while he pulled her full up against him. Their tongues danced, leading to every possibility.
“Ahem, guys I hate to interrupt…” Nicholas uncomfortably reached the concussion that interrupting them this time might be fatal. “The chopper’s on it’s way.”
Jason didn’t release Elizabeth just yet. Good thing, because she didn’t know if holding her own weight might even be an option. Her head clouded in smells and tastes of musk and leather. Untamed passion pooled at her core.
His eyes wandered over Elizabeth’s swollen lips, and her glossy gaze. Nothing prepared him for the base need of just taking her on the ground to finish what they begun. Instead Jason fought with every last thread of resistance directing his displeasure toward who else…Poor Nicholas.
Slowly letting go, regretting every minute, he grabbed the bags out of the trunk shoving them into Nicholas’s arms. In a whisper not near enough for Elizabeth to hear, “If you ever want to “inform us” again… DON’t” His words chilled the prince to the bone.
Finally getting some of her senses back, Elizabeth watched Nicholas pale as Jason finished whispering to him. “Jason?
Turning around to face her love, illuminating as the wind fluttered against her hair. One shot fired, zinging passed Jason’s arm, hitting Elizabeth square in the chest. He screamed her name, throwing her to the ground, then spinning with his gun to find the sniper. Behind a few barrels inside the hanger, he cocked his gun, screamed for Nicholas to get Gia out of here. The chopper landing just as the shooter toke aim. Another shot zinged by hitting the car wheel just next to Jason’s ear.
“Come on Elizabeth. Hold on, just hold on.” A plea the only thing keeping him together. Fear as ugly as any reared it's head.
Blood soaked her blue shirt crimson. Her face rapidly paled while she tried to speak. “It hurts… God Jason it hurts.” The last of her words a mere breath.
Something akin to rage roared inside him. This man was dead. Picking her up he ran as fast as lightning reaching the aircraft. They were still to close. If Jason shot at the sniper to soon the barrels of oil would explode, taking not only their escape, but Elizabeth’s chance for survival. Another shot zinged by hitting the co pilot dead.
Cursing silently, Jason swung up Elizabeth into Nicholas’s arms. Then jumping on himself, he weaved up front. “Get this chopper off the ground now!” Running back another shot fired barely missing the pilot. Two for two. Running towards the back, the helicopter raised into the air. Just as it inched a few feet up Jason took aim. Revenge ever so sweet this day though never savored before.
One bullet flew hitting it’s target. Not only did the sniper see it coming but the explosion assured him his place in hell. First on barrel, than another, continued by a mass series blowing up most of the airfield. Currents from the blast shove the chopper sideways, almost losing control, but as Jason hopped in to help the pilot things smoothed themselves out.
“Nicholas how is she?” Jason yelled back to him.
He tried to stop the bleeding by applying pressure. “I don’t know. There’s blood everywhere.”
The pilot nodded he had everything under control Jason nearly jumped to Elizabeth’s side. Tearing her shirt, to expose the wound he noticed it when through her shoulder barely missing a lung. The bleeding came from hitting an artery. If anything else blood loss would kill her. “Gia get me the first aid kit. Nicholas I need you to hold her still.” He leaned over her caressing her face. “It’s going to be alright Elizabeth…I promise.” He kissed her forehead, praying to he could keep this one.
Gia handed him the kit. He pulled out an ice pack strapping it to the wound to slow the blood. “GET THIS THING TO THE NEAREST HOSPITAL NOW!!!!! He yelled for her.
