Chapter 1
The dead of night and nothing moved except the wind. A bike engine prowled inside the parking garage below Sonny's Penthouse. He was back. Not knowing if it was a good idea considering what happened just a few months ago.
Francis stepped out from his hiding place.
"Jason, your back!"
Nodding to aknowledge him yet holding off any questions as he reached the elevator.
"Is Sonny up?: Simply put.
Francis frowned. "He wasn't expecting you Jason."
He didn't reply as the elevator door shut. Tapping against the wall waiting as each light pulled him closer to Sonny. Shaking his head, wondering why the hell he came back..... She didn't want him.
It had been like this each day. Jason just moved through the normal motions of life and She always found her way in. Haunting him with every whisper of his own breath.
The elevator doors finally opened giving him room to breath. Johnny stood guard.
"Jason your here?"
Johnny looked puzzled.
Shaking his hand wondering. "What you didn't expect me anytime at all?"
Jason reached for the door when Johnny stopped him.
"You can't go in there Jason."
Jason eyed him suddenly wondering what the hell was going on. That was the second person tonight not to happy to see him.
Knowing that look Johnny spilled it.
"Sonny has guests and I don't think you'll be to happy to know who they are."
"At this time of night?"
"It's a last minute conference."
Taking a another look at Johnny, Jason realized immediatly he was trying to cover up something....
Turned to quickly for Johnny, kicking the door wide open. No one keeps Morgan in the dark....
There in Sonny's penthouse stood Luke, Laura, and Lucky Spencer. Sonny held a drink in his hand with the other in his pocket.
"Nice of you to join us Jason." Taking a swig His eyes betrayed the smile on his face. Something was definatly wrong.
"We weren't exactly expecting you."
What the hell were the Spencers doing here? Luke and Sonny haven't been friends for awhile now, but on top of that Laura and Lucky??? Jason remained cool.
"I finished business earlier than expected"
Sonny nodded, pouring Luke another drink. "Good your just in time."
Lucky pushed forward, "I don't want Jason involved!..If E..." suddenly shutting up at Luke's will.
Something like fear passed over Laura's face. Jason caught that and what Lucky almost gave away.
Turning to Luke, Sonny nodded his way.
"He could do it. You know he's capable."
"No way!" Lucky burst out.
"Lucky!" Laura chastized him instantly.
Not to thrilled the spencer brat laid daggars in Jason's direction instead.
Taking a swig of his liquor Luke eyed Jason as if weighing him Sonny and the rest waited as if his answer turned the tides day and night.
Setting the glass down. "No, he's to deeply involved."
Laura surged forward for the first time. "That's exactly why it will work Luke!" Analyizing his next excuse before he spoke she broke the ice seperating them from Jason.
"We need your help and you seem to be the best choice now that your here."
"Wait.. You need my help?... For what?"
Jason didn't like any of this one bit especially being asked for help, but something in Laura's eyes spoke to him the importance.
"Damn it! Won't anyone listen to me. He'll get her killed for sure!"
Totally enraged at the turn in events, Lucky wasn't about to let that motorcycle clown get his hands on her even for a good reason..
Suddenly like lighting Jason knew WHO they were talking about. Turning to his friend and partner, Sonny's eyes glowed with a darkness ment only for the deepest of trouble.
"It's Elizabeth.... The Cassadines have her."

Chapter 2
Jason's heart stopped. Everyone in the room statues as his own barrings faltered inside. First utter fear, then angry rushed in to replace it.
"How the hell could you let this happen Luke!"
Totally ignoring Lucky. If anything he was probably part of the prblem.
"Now wait one minute Morgan. Do you think I wanted this to happen? Elizabeth is the sweetie little thing I know. I didn't expect this move. I still haven't figured out why Helena and psycho son wanted her other than to hold leverage." Remorse actually filled the man's eyes. He even dared a look at Laura who came to comfort him.
"It's true Jason. We had no clue that Helena would go after Elizabeth."
Sonny noticed the play of emotions on Jason's face. There was never emotion in that face, but then again. Elizabeth always did something to him.
"Why don't I explain the details to Jason while all of you head home."
"I'm staying. Laura.. Why don't you take Lucky and yourself out so we can work out the details."
Past rage Lucky stuck his face in Luke's. "Your serious about sending him aren't you. WHY?"
Shaking his head Luke knew Lucky wouldn't want the answer to this.
"Cowboy. You could have handled it before... but now with what Helena did to your head... You know as well as I do your best chance is here."
His face turned a redish purple. The air suddenly cut off. Turning on Jason, his finger in his face.
"Fine! You save her, but if she dies or you lay one hand on her don't you dare come back again. She's mine Jason. Elizabeth and I getting married...."
Jason didn't give away anything though deep down it torn through the rest of his insides that Elizabeth had left him with.
"That's right Jason. WE are getting married and nothing you do between now and then will make you better in her eyes. Trust me your through."
Leaving him with that he trudged out the door like some brat throwing a tantrum.
Laura communicated with her eyes through Luke. Getting the message he nodded as Laura closed the door behind him.
"It not true Morgan. Elizabeth broke it off.... Lucky just won't accept it."

Chapter 3
Salty blue waves crashed against sharp cliffs. The sky mixed with the blues and greens of the Mediterrean sea brushed with cotton clouds here and there. Elizabeth contemplated each crash. If she jumpede would she survive? Not only the fall, but the sharks beneath?? Another crash leaving a trail of seafoam.
"Elizabeth?" From behind a tender male voice called out.
She didn't turn. Didn't move. Another crash of the tide. What if?
"Elizabeth?" Two strong hands covered each shoulder. "What are you doing out here?"
Finally waking from her focus she turned to face the man before her.
"Nicholas!.... I'm sorry. I just.. I was taking in the view."
Recovering as quickly as possible not to worry him further. Elizabeth had been here before. In fact the night they arrived she escaped Helena and her men finding this exact place..... Almost taken in..... Another crash of waves.... Nicholas knew nothing.
Pulling her closer, staring down into her face. "We will find a way out of this mess. I promise you."
Smiling weakly knowing Nicholas was just as afraid, though noble. "We will."
********************************************************
Some night. Jason came home expecting nothing. He wanted nothing...if not to see Elizabeth happy. Instead she was a prisoner of the twisted inbreeded black cult....The Cassadines.
Now his best friend and Luke Spencer wanted him to fix this mess? On top of that his heart rode a roller coaster on Elizabeth's behalf. He truely wanted her happiness and if that ment marrying Lucky so be it. Then what he'd been tell himself the last couple of months would have nailed the coffin shut, but no. Luke told him Lucky couldn't handle...What? Elizabeth really left him? She turned down the world..and him only to break it off with the man she swore she loved? None of this made sense? On top of that his heart leaped at another chance! Jason couldn't..no .. wouldn't put himself though this again. Risking everything for Elizabeth and then what? He didn't even wonder.
Crossing his arms at his chest. His eyes narrowed slits. "So, why do you think I can or will help you?"
Sonny nearly laughed behind Luke. Jason ment to play the whole deck and win!
Luke's frown etched deep into his face. The man was worn out. The game was already done for him.
"Look Morgan. I can't keep up with Helena if she's going to freeze her spawn so they're half my age and twice as brainy. I know you have connections overseas. I know you have more than enough experience to get you through a group of thugs. What I need to know is if Elizabeth matters enough to risk your neck?"
Jason's frozen stature softened slightly. His eyes spoke volumes more than anyone could have guessed. Even Sonny hadn't a clue exactly what Elizabeth MENT to Jason until now.
Swallowing deeply, hiding the part of his heart that snuck up in his eyes.
"Just tell me everything you know. What is Helena capable of?"
**************************
Dawn arrived unnoticed as Luke, Sonny, and Jason talked of every detail about the Cassadines and the events that happened around their lives. Luke even told Jason what Stavros did to Laura... The trials she endured. That alone boiled Jason's blood. One thing wasn't mentioned.
"Why don't you talk to Nicholas before you go? He'll know the lay out of the Cassadine estastes better than Luke." Sonny reccommended.
As if something just hit him Luke jumped from the couch.
"Stavros took Nicholas back to the island about the same time as Elizabeth was kidnapped. Gia mentioned a busniess trip, but today she stopped by Laura's office demanding where he went. That's got to be it!" Luke talked his thoughts hoping to connect the dots.
A flashback hit Jason back in the time when Elizabeth met him in the alley accidently. He was on his motorcycle and she wanted a ride.
"Ask me what I hate more than anything in the world."
"Ok. What do you hate more than anything in the world?"
"When Lucky tells me to be with Nicholas!"
Luke still rambled just as Jason spoke. "Helena wants her with Nicholas."
Luke stopped dead in his tracks. Sonny stared.
"Yea. yea, that makes sense. Helena tried that in the beginning. But why? She was mad as hell that Stavros wanted Laura.. common folk. Why chose another?"
Walking over to the bar Sonny shook his head. "There's more. It makes to much sense. You said yourself. Stephen had no idea that Nicholas was Stavros's child until much later. Secrects over time. I think this is one of them."
His hands on his hips Jason nodded. "I agree. Something else is missing, but only Helena knows it."
Turning towards the first rays of sunlight over the city Jason's mind wondered to Elizabeth. The smell of her hair, the simple glow of her skin, the petite elf form full of spunk. If she didn't follow Helena's wishes... If Elizabeth fought.
Jason grabbed his jacket. "I'm leaving now. I'll need your jet Sonny."
"Wait Jason!"
Turning to Luke one last time.
"Bring Elizabeth back in one piece." Jason's thoughts, mirrors reflected by Luke's. He knew. He knew Elizabeth might not live though this...Let alone escape.

Chapter 4
"Linens... Linens... Linens... Don't these people wear anything else?" Elizabeth shouted outloud in frustration. The white washed wall and simple furniture added to the maddness. It reminded her of a cell.... Not that she'd seen one, but this was definately a prison.
Adding to the mess of clothing strew around the room she threw another. Nicholas stepped in her room just then with a smile watching Elizabeth boil over.
"YES! Finally." She pulled out another piece of clothing from the deepest recesses of the wooden armoire.
Oblivious of Nicholas, Elizabeth pulled out the lacey fabric. Her frown deepened. It wasn't exactly clothing.
Disgusted she threw the used negliea hitting her visitor in the face.
"Hey now!"
Stunned at first she wasn't alone, second that she hit Nicholas.
"Oh, I'm SO sorry!" Elizabeth rushed over to his side taking the piece by the tips of her fingers and tossing it out the door still mortified.
Nicholas laughed. "It's ok. Though I DON't want to know where that come from." Pointing at the nighty.
"Me neither." her eyebrows raised as she turned towards the bed embarrassed by the mess she created.
"I came hoping to persuade you to take a ride on Sheba."
ELizabeth began folding the linens and stopped to turn.
"Sheba is here?"
Nicholas tossed his head leary of that question. "Stavros shipped him in last night, hoping to get our father/son bond going."
Snorting Elizabeth shook her head. "And they think that's going to help you forget.... Hmm...say Lucky...Emily...Laura, and not to mention Gia."
Pointing to him on that last note. "And I didn't mention her if we ever get off this godforsaken zombie palace!"
Nicholas could only smile at his friend though the mention of Gina did sting. What was she doing right now? Would she wait for him? Internally shaking himself awake focusing on now.
Elizabeth didn't miss it though. The look... The look everyone missed in her face when J....
"Don't worry she's probably blackmailing Stephen right now, trying to get directions to this place. Not to mention YOUR rescue."
"She'd rescue you too."
Elizabeth headed for the door. "Yea right. When hell freezes over. So exactly how did Stavros sneak that huge beast away with out her notice? If I were you I'd check the carton Sheba was shipped in. You never know what that girl's ...."
The rest of her words faded down the hallway. Chuckling, Nicholas followed her out. All the time admiring her strength. Not many people could be tossing volleys and teasing while her whole life fell apart.
**************************************
Helena massaged his babie's temples. His headache grew each passing moment.
"This isn't working Mother. He didn't even flinch when I gave him his stead. My son cares less for me than when we first saw one another."
"Patience my darling. He'll turn to you sooner than you think...."
Stopping she walked over to his desk picking up a golden puppy dog. It's eyes rubies and several diamonds placed at it's paws. Caressing it's tiny head and body within her palm.
"He will turn to you for help and you..." Slithering back to pat his head. "You will give him all the answers he seeks."
Stavros grumbled sinking into his chair.
Helena placed the dog down upon the table before him.
"Patience."
**************************************
Jason gathered up his bag from Jakes heading out towards his bike. He's wasted enough time and Elizabeth didn't have much time if at all. All the memories for her flooded back like water drowning him.. dragging him back to a place he swore he'd never be again.
Hopping on his bike, reaving the engine he suddenly saw Elizabeth.
Jason heard himself ask. "Wanna ride?"
That smile twisted his insides along with her words. "I thought you'd never ask!"
In moment he swore he witness Elizabeth hop on behind him. Wrapping her arms around his waist.
"Ready?"
"For the wind or you Jason?"
With those words he twisted his head back to see her.
She was gone.....
"Damn it!" Jason cursed. Turning off his bike and stepping away.
Taking one last look at his bike then just in front of it. He was dreaming again. The warm embrace an illusion that wouldn't stop haunting him. Cursing again Jason had to gain control This wasn't the time or place for this. He need to rescue Elizabeth not daydream about her!
"Jason!"
Snapping his head so suddenly he rubbed his neck.
"What do you want?"
Gia stepped into his path leary of the look in his eye.
"I need your help Jason."
Stepping back toward his bike praying not to see Elizabeth's illusion standing there with that soft smile of...
"I'm busy."
Desperate Gia grabbed his arm. "Look. I know you going to track down miss powderpuff so that means your going to find Nicholas too. Right?"
First Jason yanked his arm away. His stone stature intimadiating enough without his eyes turning into dangerous slits.
"I don't answer to you."
Gia stepped back finally remembering the last time they met. It was when she entered his room unannounced.
"I'm just worried about Nicholas. I followed Luke to Sonny's so I know you got to know what going on. After all Elizabeth is... well let's say she did a 180 after she realized you left town."
Jason eyed her interested, "Why exactly do you think I care?"
Gia noticed the opening and jumped right in. "Well you must know after you left Elizabeth stuck by the "Brainwashing of her psycho boyfriend", but just as soon as it was over Elizabeth broke it off. Even I had to take a step back from some of her more destructive actions."
Jason didn't like the sound of destructive.
"She drops Lucky cold! Then jumps right into this "No one rules my life" crap. Moving out of Kelly's back into that moldy paint trap she calls her studio. One night she even dared to destroy Lucky's camera. There were some damn good photos of me on that roll!"
Jason almost smiled. He almost believed Elizabeth realized making herself happy would get her away from that vicious cycle she created.
"I have to hand it to her though. I thought Elizabeth was some whiny chick that relied on her man for ALL their happiness. Guess she proved me wrong... Don't you dare tell her that though." Gia got to him. At least she thinks she did.
Jason sighed. After all Gia had done. The girl respected Elizabeth's new self. Little did she know it was the true Elizabeth. That firey spirit attracted Jason to her the first day they met. She needed a friend to talk to but her spirit need the wind...and just maybe.. him.
"What do you want to ask me Gia?"
She lifted her brows stunned. "YOu mean the great Jason will let me ask a sacred question? You'll actually answer right? Instead of turning to stone."
Jason rolled his eyes.
Noticing what her attitude was losing here. "Ok, I just want to get Nicholas home safe. Sheba's gone and I can't search for that spoiled horse all day. Let alone ride and feed the beast. So, just bring him back with your little ragdoll and I'll thank you."
He eyes narrowed. "Sheba was his favorite horse?"
"Yea! and if I don't find her Nicholas will surely kick me to the curb. Stupid road block." gia folded her arms muttering about that conceited horse getting more attention than her.
Deciding there may be a clue at the ship yard for a when a horse that size shipped out and where too. He reved up the engine again.
"I'll bring him back with Elizabeth."
Gia's attitude faded some showing her true concern of Nicholas's wellbeing.
"I just hope it's in one piece."
With that he drove off. On his way to search for his first clue.

Chapter 5
The cliffs. Massive rock fronted by folding tides of blue and greens reflected in the skies. White foam oozing of barnicles and rock alike. Elizabeth's toes touched the edge, staring down into the vortex of water and rock below. Amazing and mesmerizing... Anything was better than the truth.
Elizabeth was alone. Not just now, but always. She chose her path and finally broking free of most of the mistakes in her life. J... not even able to think his name without grief and shame. He warned her about Lucky, about the truth in her heart. How or why she didn't listen... More and more Elizabeth watched her self regress. Finding herself lost in Lucky's maddness. Then one day she just snapped. No, it was long coming. The trigger being her studio. Walking in, planning to paint something... anything when discovering the last piece she drew. The drawing of Jason playing pool.
That was it. Last straw! Running out to reach Deception. Finding Lucky in the dark room doing his own work.
"I need to talk to you Lucky."
"Whatever it is I'm sure it can wait until I'm done."
Pure rage built up inside. How could he turn her away so easily, but she couldn't?
"Lucky! I said now."
"Elizabeth I have another shoot in an hour so I don't have time for this."
Done. This was over. Taking the chemical bottle out of his hands setting it down with a splash.
"Elizabeth!" Lucky grabbed some paper towels trying to undo some of the liquid eatting away at the counter.
"What the hell has gotten in to you! You know what never mind. Go home and I'll meet you there to discuss this."
He still thought she would just obey!!!!!!!!!!!
"Nope." folding her arms and begging for him to tell her again what to do.
Grabbing her by the arm and dragging her out of the dark room Lucky shoved her into a chair.
"I don't know what's wrong and I don't care. You don't just roll in here and embarrass me at work."
Elizabeth couldn't believe her ears. Standing to fan her arms out. "What people Lucky? There's no one here!"
He couldn't recover from that.
"I came here to talk to you about us... To find out if this marriage to be could work. I guess I have my answer."
Lucky dropped the indigent bull replacing it with pure shock. "What are you talking about? Our relationship is fine."
Trying to hold her, Elizabeth froze him in place with her eyes. "No Lucky. As long as I make YOU happy our relationship is fine."
His eye's narrowed. "Your seeing Jason again arent' you? I knew he wouldn't leave town long enough."
Elizabeth caught that. "Jason left town?"
Lucky realized his mistake. "You didn't know. I thought you knew considering..."
Elizabeth's heart raced. "Considering what?"
Smiling sicky sweet, his eyes darkened as he carassed her body with them.
"Considering he left right after you saw him at the park. The night you ran back to me and made love."
Elizabeth felt her insides retch in digust of her own actions. At the time she didn't realize what her decision to help Lucky cost. Walking those steps out of the garden actual took everything from her leaving her to what? Jumping into bed with a moron who knew nothing about who Elizabeth Webber was anymore? No wonder Jason left town dropping her like a bad habit. Well, this was it. She wouldn't repeat that mistake.
Stepping out of range from Lucky's new assualt at her ear.
"You wanted to talk." his voice lowered intimately.
"It's over Lucky."
Strengh surged forward with that admission. Elizabeth's body and soul recharged. Taking her finger and jabbing it into his chest.
"I have been holding myself back to make you happy. I don't speak, I don't do, I don't decide anything to wreak your puny little universe Lucky Spencer. You changed and so have I. I know most of it isn't your fault, but that has nothing to do with me. I don't even paint Lucky!"
He couldn't believe this! Elizabeth unfurled fire and ice in his direction. Something he'd never seen. It was Jason's fault. Even gone he tried to destroy their perminent lock.
"So paint Elizabeth. We can work these things out." Trying to brighten her spirit.
That was it! Lucky still just tried to fix things. Not hearing one word. She turned to ice. Leaving without one look back she threw one last remark to Lucky.
"You won't fix me Lucky Spencer and I AM the problem."
Lucky ran after her only to get the door slammed in his face.
Elizabeth remembered running back to Kelly's throwing everything she owned into a bag, leaving anything behind Lucky had given her. Handing the keys over to Tammy she walked out. Not just from her room, but her life there. Time for change. Reaching her studio with a new bolt for the door, Elizabeth making sure Lucky didn't interrupt her life again. Settling down in her couch Elizabeth cried. The world spun around her at the mention of Jason leaving town. Deep inside she knew, but he didn't tell her.... He always told her somehow...
Deserving her fate Elizabeth pulled herself out from her own self pity reaching for a brush. If she really ment to start a new life she'd better get started. Dabbing color onto a fresh canvas. Elizabeth Webber would be her own. Not someone's girlfriend or just some waitress at Kelly's. This was her life.
The road had it's bumps. Lucky kept pounding at the door or following her around and she simply turned to stone. Guess she did learn some tricks from J.... If they didn't get the picture she'd make it clear with some rather extreme results. Elizabeth started selling some of her paintings at the Arts and Crafts conventions. Bringing in just enough to keep her happy. Everything fell into to place, but one thing stood between her and happiness.
Bringing Elizabeth here. Back to the cliffs where her toes felt the edge of oblivion. Where would he be. Africa, Italy, even Iowa tracking down another arsenist. Would he be alone or with someone else..... That last thought struck her physcially. Suddenly the wind blew in off the face of rock. Rushing threw her hair blowing away all her grief.
Jason
Her soul spoke what she would not. Perhaps someday Elizabeth could convince him of her heart. That everything she did deserved his hatred, hoping to find some sort of forgivness.
"So, your entertaining the thought once more?"
Elizabeth knew the hag's voice. Calm she had no idea of what her thoughts were.
"I sugguest you step away or I might decide it's best... After all. You'd shame your family with such means of sucicide."
Facing Helena head on stepping away from the cliffs right in front of the witch herself. How dare she even mention her family!
"You would like that wouldn't you Helena. I fall apart so you can shove me off into the ocean below."
Walking past her without caring for a dismissal from her Hieness of Doom and Gloom. What a pathetic waste of life. And Elizabeth thought she was bad?
"You can threaten me, torture me, and do whatever you think will brake me, but I'll tell you what. I won't give you the satisfaction of even a scream."
With that Elizabeth headed back down the path towards the castle. Feeling a little free from the first night here. Shuddering still at the last. No matter what. Helena knew exactly how to crush her. Though Elizabeth put on a great show today it was just that. She feared Helena. That first night she knew exactly what the woman would do... for her son and herself.

Chapter 6
The desert, a vast place ment to fry your brain as well as your body. Jason Morgan ended up in Istabul, Turkey. Apparently the ship's manifest lead him here. THey were probably headed to Greece with Sheba according to the captian, but just to make sure he told Jason to wait at his office near the merchant Bazzar. Taking in the sights and smells, sweating even in light linen he exchanged for jeans and leather jacket. Egypt was much of the same and he expected that, but standing here smelling Camel dung, incese, and sweat made it ten times worse.
Sighing he sucked it in like a man. In fact while Jason waited he decided to pick up something for Emily. Searching the silk bolt, rugs, lamps, various fruits and pastries, he thought he witnessed a petite form rush away.
Elizabeth?
Rushing over to stall where she'd stood Jason scanned the area. She couldn't be here could she? Just then another flash of something caught his attention. There. She stood infront of the jewerly stall. Peering over her shoulder Elizabeth held a red piece of glass.
"It not a ruby it's a hunk of glass.
"It's beautiful Jason."
The memories flooded in like madness. Suddenly the woman turned right into his chest. It wasn't Elizabeth.... The Muslin woman hurried away without a word, totally ignoring he exsisted. Why did he keep doing this? Leaning over the jewerly, trying to steady himself taking a deep breath. Glancing in front of him without out thinking, he picked one up. Red glass....
Instead of just a hunk, it encased itself in an antique gold ring displayed by tiny rubies, perhaps diamonds. Taking a closer look there engraved inside was russian words. Jason didn't know what they ment, but for some reason it didn't seem to matter.
Putting it up into the sun it rediated an intense red glow set off by the other glittering stones. A prism of painter's light. Without another thought Jason purchased the ring for some obsene amount.
Walking back to the office he witnessed the captain and some American women argueing with him.
"I don't speak to women!"
"Oh, I forgot your all chovishist pigs here. My mistake."
"Gia what the hell are you doing here?" Jason come up to grab her by the arm. Angry as hell she followed him but still the wall of stone he always appeared.
"See I told you I knew him." Her 'I told you so attutide' with a hand at her hip.
"She is your friend?" An infuriated turkishman didn't help him in the least.
"No."
"You want to sell her then?"
Gia's mouth opened so wide in outrage that Jason covered her mouth before she could ruin it all.
"Be quiet." His eyes ment it.
Gia folder her arms pouting, and seething at the same time. Who the hell did this guy think he his? No one tells Gia Campell what to do, especially some brain damaged misfit and his camel boy! Lucky for her neither the captain or Jason heard what went on inside her head.
After thanking the Turk, Jason moved on.
"Wait your going to just leave me here?' Gia ran right after him.
No even caring to answer, he just kept walking.
Grabbing him by the arm trying to swing him back. "Now look I maybe no Cleopatara to you like Elizabeth , but I sure as hell need your help to find Nicholas. So listen to me Mr. Mobster, streetfigher, or whatever you call yourselves in Port Charles. I'm not going away so you better just get used to me coming along for the ride."
Evidently Gia wasn't aware of the deadly look she produced from Jason. Removing her hand forcefully, but slow from his arm. Then leaning down, his eyes slits and inches from her face.
"Go home!"
Somewhere deep inside Gia knew she crossed the line with him. Her fearless self actually considered the fact this was a 'Bad' idea. Suddenly Nicholas popped into her brain and she realized no man. Not even the great Jason Morgan could stand in her way.
"No." Simple and straight forward Gia walked forward where Jason headed without another word.
And he thought Elizabeth didn't listen? Gia was going to get them killed.
******************************************
Stavros displayed the carton on the table beside him. Finally it had arrived. Ready to open the secret treasure Elizabeth and Nicholas stepped into the study from their riding trip.
"Your getting better."
Giggling. "Do you mean better for not falling off the horse or actually staying on?"
Nic smiled, "Hey you weren't that bad. If you just listened to me about the reins...."
"Oh no. Don't start in on the lecture. I-... " Stopping when Nicholas indicted his father was there.
"It's nice to see Sheba brings you pleasure... along with your companion."
Elizabeth didn't like how Stavros roamed his eyes over her. Why did linen feel so exposing right then. Taking a step behind Nicholas for some protection.
He must of sensed it because a hand closed over hers. "It's no secret I like riding."
Pleased by the reaction he induced Stavros Indicated towards the box. "Join me in opening a family treasure?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"No. It's a rather special to 'all of us'."
There was that look again. Why couldn't she just leave? Instead Nicholas drew them over to the box. Opening it Stavros pulled out tons of stuffing and styrofaom. His eyes glittered at the artifact that emerged. A Faberge egg.
Nicholas frowned. "I thought the Russian government have all but ours?"
Excitement clouded any questions his son had. "This is it! Magnificent isn't it! A tradition passed down among the Czars of Russia.... Even our own family lineage."
Even Elizabeth had to admit this egg was incredicable. The Red enamel covered the entire surface like satin. Tiny diamonds encrusted themselves all over it. Pure gold edged the seams in decorative design. Then there was the clasp. Or it looked like a clasp for the egg to open. Stavros tried to open it gently. It wouldn't budge.
"No, this can't be. Open damn you we're so close."
"Close to what?" Nicholas asked still frowning. Something bugged him about the faberage.
Glancing over at his son, he decided to set the egg back in the box. "It matter not yet son."
Taking another glance at Elizabeth and back. "but I will put everything back in place." With that he left the room.
"Well that was a little weird." Elizabeth stepped away from Nic.
"I know... Worst yet I wonder what he means."
"What do you mean?"
Taking the Faberage back out Nicholas turned it over in his hands carefully. "We have one of these from back when my family fled Russia. Only royal family members own them. It's a Easter gift to ourselves since in the Orthodox religion Easter is a major hoilday. I've never seen this one before. I had to study them all. In fact I know Helena wouldn't have brought it here if it were fake."
Taking the egg from Nicholas. Searching for something she didn't know. "It's beautiful anyway." fingering the lock. "Nicholas. Do you think a ring belongs here?"
Suddenly aware of the lock. A tiny loop empty, waiting for something. "I think your probably right. I mean think of it this way. Russians like many pieces. Especially ones they wear to fit togther somehow like puzzles or chess."
Staring into the faberge egg, Elizabeth got a funny feeling. "Do you think this is part of huge plan Helena has cooked up?'
Staring right to into her face without any doubt. "I know it is."

Chapter 7
When would she just shut Up!
Finding a room somewhere in Athens proved to be a bit tricky. Especially when Gia scoffed at every choice he made.
"I'm not staying there! There could be rats, bugs, or even worse snakes crawling up in the middle of the night. I'd PREFER some fancy hotel. There's got to be one here somewhere."
It went on and on like this! Jason knew Carly could get on his last nerve, but this girl... How did Elizabeth put up with her? Not very well if he remembered.
"Look you choose the hotel. Just don't insult the owner this time about his religious practices."
"Don't blame me he thought women were like cattle or something. I couldn't just let him get away with that."
"So you pulled off his wife's hood in front of everyone? You shamed him and his wife will probably pay for it. Think Gia! Not everything is about you."
"Oh, this coming from the man who pratically sells me to some Turkish captain."
That was it! Shaking his head and pinching the bridge of his nose. "Look, you find the hotel. I'll find out where they took Sheba. Meet back her in an hour." Already walking away.
"Fine! Not like I could get mugged or worse on the streets here alone." Gia muttered to herself taking a look around. Well at least it seemed the richer side of town.
***************************
After gathering info on what Jason already knew, he glanced over at the Acropolis at night. Lights illuminated the emormous pillars. A sight stored away in his memories. Deciding he had enough time, Jason rushed over to get a better look before dealing with Gia once more.
Nicholas's horse was transported to some island right off the coastline. Just mentioning the isle brought fear to most men letting him know for sure Helena had Elizabeth.
Again she haunted him even amoung ruins of Greece. Standing before the Acropolis, he pulled out the ring in his pocket. The light of the glass still reminded him of her.
"I think I was afraid to hear it. You know, when you say it, it becomes real. You can’t hide from it anymore or pretend it doesn’t exist. Believe me, I know, I’ve tried. I’ve come up with a million excuses for the way you make me feel. But excuses can’t change the truth. I want more than a friendship too.
Elizabeth finally admitted what they had... He couldn't help touching her hair. It's silky locks electrifying. Thinking he might actually have gotten thorough to her.
"It’s not wrong to trust what you feel."
Jason almost kissed her, sure he might finally succeed. Then Lucky showed up.... Tossing the ring between his fingers wondering why he bought it? Did he think Elizabeth would just jump into his arms? Would he let her break his heart again?
"Are you waiting for someone?"
Glancing up a lady all in white robes stood before him. Another illusion? Searching around for anyone else. No one. Taking another look at the woman before him. She was ethreal like. Her hair piled on top her head wrapped with a golden rope. She dressed in ancient greece robes and sandals. Is this a toursist thing?
"No, I was just leaving." Getting up.
"But she's too close to your heart. Perhaps I can help. Follow me." She headed up inside the Acropolis.
As if hynotized by the sound of her voice Jason followed curious. What did she want?
Standing among ancient history. Whispers of wisdom and timeless power haunted his being.
The woman fanned her arms outward. "This place incites the young to hear the wisdom of the old. Do you wish to listen?"
Jason furrowed his brows. Something inside him told him to trust her. Hesitiately he agreed by nodding.
A light brighter than any he'd seen flashed before him. Dragging him down into some sort of dream.
Opening his eyes the woman before him held his ring. They seemed to be in some Russian decorated room. Most likely the Kremlin. Somehow he just knew that. Before him were a collection of Faberge Eggs displayed. So many gold and jewel encrusted wonders.
The woman headed towards a box in the corner. Opening it, uncovering another magnificent Egg. This one of red, gold and diamonds.
"You see this is a key. Lenin didn't know it then, but he failed." Pushing the ring inside the lock the Faberage opened. Inside sat a tiny dog of the same colors, gold, red, and diamonds.
"This is what you seek."
Suddenly a light flooded the room again. This time when Jason opened his eyes, the woman disappeared and he stood alone in the gigantic white structure. Night air and crickets bringing back reality. Rubbing his face against the shock of what just occurred. The ring still in his fingers. The stone glowing red. Taking one last look at his surroundings a statue caught his attention. The massive structure in a place of worship. Athena, goddess of wisdom.

Chapter 8
Wondering the prison of his youth, Stephen remembered the pass times spent. The high ceilings and dark furiture reminded him alot of Windamere except somehow this place seemed to lock out the light totally in strange riches. Standing before the giagantic puture of Miccos inside the den, his hands clasped at his back.
"Finding everything the same or different"
Turning with a fake pleasant smile plastered on just for his brother. "Reminacing, nothing is the same."
With that Stephen sat into a old leather wing chair.
Already annoyed, Stavros wanted his brother to know who's in charge. Certainly not his brainy brother. "Your wrong. Everything is the same. As it should be."
Leaning against the fireplace, exactly opposite of one another both brothers stared down the other.
"So bringing Nicholas here is just another tactic to win his love?" Opening the door, watching for where it might lead.
"He is my son. No boy should be without his father."
"Nicholas is a man."
Stavros glared at his brother sitting so smug. Jeolous of the moments he had spent with his nephew. "He will need his father now more than ever."
Stephen turned that last meaning over and over in his head. "Don't you think he'll resent you for not letting him live his own life?"
Stavros walked over to a case. His brother would not get the best of him. Instead he would show him exactly what he wanted to know. Inside the locked case over the fireplace, pulling out the Faberage Egg covered in red and gold..
"This is the answer to your questions brother. This and nothing else. So go. Nicholas will accept his destiny without his uncle, with me standing at his side."
Stephen blinked. No other reaction out of him as he stood to take in the Faberage's significance. Dread.... "Do you realize the Cassadine dynasty could fall in one swipe unless... "
Knowing immediatley what he ment. "there is no blood on my hands, brother...yet."
Just then Elizabeth ran in, immediatley hitting the brakes before running down Stephen. Nicholas came in behind her just as fast. The pairs laughtered died instantly.
Eyes wide and staring solely at the woman before him. "Miss Webber?"
Nicholas placed is hands at his knees eyeing there visitor, trying to caught his breath. Elizabeth just stood perfectly still, wondering why Stephen looked stunned at her appearence.
"Uncle, come to release us or is Stavros still clinging to the notion that he and I will bond?"
Stephen didn't miss the sarcasm. Expected, but Miss Webber? Glancing over at the Egg and his brother. Something sparked. All his questions answered, he decided to focus on Nicholas.
Taking one last look at Elizabeth before stepping over to his nephew. His hand on his shoulder. "You know I have no control here....but I"ll try. Not only for your sake, but Miss Webber's."
Nicholas caught the cryptic message, but then so did Stavros. "Always a pleasure brother." His eyes senting a firece dismissal.
That Cassadine noblity shining through, Stephen smiled before he left. "It won't work brother. You can't manufacture love.... I thought you dicovered that with Laura."
On that note he parted company. Leaving them all in unease. Elizabeth and Nicholas suddenly realizing what this maybe about.

Chapter 9
Mirth spread across both their faces, Nicholas the first to laugh.
"Is it true?" his finger waving between Elizabeth and himself. "Your trying to get US together?"
Stavros wasn't laughing in fact his scowl intimidated his son.
Sobering up jjust slightly, Nicholas tried to explain. "You see, she's in love with Jason Morgan..."
Elizabeth's head whipped around in pure astonishmen, as he continued with a wink.
"And I'm in love with Gia Campbell. Besides, we've already been through this." His hands indicted Elizabeth and himself once again.
For a split second, Stavros pinned Elizabeth with one glance, promising death. Fear blanching her face.
"What if she changed her mind Nicholas?" his voice threatening.
Realizing what he ment, Nicholas opened his mouth.
"Stavros!" Helena entered. Shutting the conversation down.
Forcing attention back to her grandson, "Nicholas, why don't you leave us."
Ready to tell her go to hell, Elizabeth stepped in pulling Nicholas away. "Let's go."
"But..."
"Let's go. Please Nicholas." she insisted still leading towards the hall. Something was wrong. Her face to pale, eyes leading back to Stavros. He decided to concede for now, but this certainly wasn't over.
Closing the door behind them, waiting one moment before she tore into him. "You fool! Stephen will ruin everything we're trying to accomplish.... Already Nicholas suspects..."
"No! Nicholas knows nothing." Stavros incurring fear even in Helena. "The girl knows what will happen if things don't work out MY way... Not yours."
Taking a step back from his wrath, trying to make Stavros see reason. "But Stephen,,,"
"Is no concern of ours. He and Alexis will be crushed in due time. I want them to see the end coming. I want them to die knowing I am the one victorious!" His hands grasping into air, pulling it with might. HIs eyes bright in unholy evil. "No one, not even you, will stop me."
*****************************************8
"Elizabeth,,, ELIZABETH!" Nicholas screamed after her, for as soon as Nicholas followed her down the hall she ran outside.
Catching up in a flash, grabbing her arm. "Elizabeth wait...."
"What? What do you want?" Not even facing him, heading towards the cliffs.
"He's holding something over you isn't he?"
"I don't know what you.."
"Stop.. Stop right there." Grabbing her chin. Seeing a face full of fear and agony "If we're going to get through this I need to know. What's going on Elizabeth?"
A single tear fell before she turned away. "I didn't know what he ment... I didn't understand until now, I still don't."
Elizabeth twisted her fingers, her eyes filling with more tears. "How did you know I still love him?"
Taking off guard. "What?... Jason?... I just know, but that's not what I asked you."
Her eyes staring at the ground, moving in circles. "There's something I didn't tell you. It's about the first night I came.... The night I realized Stavros kidnapped me."
Nodding Nicholas folded his arms. "I arrived the next morning and you looked like hell."
Giving him a dread frown. "That's because I had. You see I escaped. I ran all the way to the cliffs. Yelling and screaming to everyone who would listen that I would jump if they dared to touch me....Stavros came. He dismissed the guards and I thought... I thought he might set me free."
Stopping in her tracks, facing him finally. Elizabeth's eyes haunted with tortured memories. "He told me to jump. That if I did, his whole world would be so much simplier. I nearly did Nicholas. I wanted too.. After messing my life up so much with Lucky and ...without J.... I just lost it. Screaming like some mad woman. Just then your father grabbed me by the neck. My legs dangling in thin air. The every breath choked from my lungs. I was going to die right there... Everything flashed before me. My friends, my family, even the wind..." her thoughts trailed.
Walking off towards the cliffs once more, hearing the crash of tides ahead. The wind pushing her back from moving forward any further. Elizabeth continued.
"Just then Stavros threw me to the ground. He told me YOU were my salvation." Her eyes set on her friend. "If I didn't except it. then not only would he throw me over the cliff, but... "
Elizabeth faltered. Her words whispers between tears and even sobbs. "he told me... he warned me.... " Finally staring into Nicholas's face. "He promised to rape me before feeding my broken body to the sharks!"
His hands reaching to hold her. Nicholas's shock, turning to pure rage. "No one will hurt you Elizabeth... I promise."
Pulling away slowly. Her eyes and cheeks streaked by millions of tears. "That's not all Nicholas. He started on and on about my family.. that they, that I couldn't take away his destiny. Stavros is insane! I didn't know what he was talking about. I still don't!
That's when Helena stepped in. She told me to not speak a word of this... to just do as your father said or else she'd let do the terrible tortures he spoke of."
Flying out of Nicholas's grasp waving her hands in the air, frantically.
"Why is this happening to me? I'm not a Spencer? I didn't marry Lucky."
Her cries renewed as Nicholas watched helplessly. Then and there he promised. "I don't know, but I swear to you Elizabeth. We will find out."

Chapter 10
Tracking down Sheba proved difficult after Athens. The Greeks seemed less reluctant to run in total fear and humilation then tell Jason and Gia where the Cassadine isle was. So they tried another route. Eliminating possible islands that held factories, buinesses and other establishments known. Finally Gia stumbled apon a greek librarian, more than happy to help. That is AFTER Gia talked him to death. Agreeing on one condition, she left as quickly as possible. Jason only rolled his eyes wishing he could leave her there instead.
So, now here they were. The first rays of the sun leaving a silloutte off a massive island ahead. Near as Jason could tell, the only way in depended on acquiring a boat. Gia on the other hand had other ideas.
"I'm taking the lauch over."
"Oh no you don't." Jason quickly latched a hand right over her elbow.
As if it were a snake she yanked it back, "First, don't ever touch me again biker boy. Second. I'm not scared of Psycho grandy or her whacked out son. Ok? So let's just head right over there and make our appearences." Without a second though Gia headed down towards the docks.
Jason pinched the bridge of his nose. Enough was enough. "Fine. Go right over and let the Cassadines kidnap you as well.... Not that they would keep you long." He mumbled. Something he never did, but this girl brought out the worst.
In a flash Gia turned around on the war path. "I heard that you wanna be James Dean. Don't you get it? I don't care. I want Nicholas now! Not today, not tomorrow, NOW!"
Stepping back one second to reflect, Gia listened to the waves lap up against the shoreline. Mellowed slightly, she tried to explain. "Jason, don't you ever think about Nicholas and that tease being alone for so long? I mean I know I can trust Nicholas, but I don't trust Miss Thing with my man after that fiasco with you and Lucky."
Jason folded his arms at his chest. This was new. "I wouldn't worry."
Turning to him with actual interest. "Why? I mean I heard Nicholas had a crush on Elizabeth sometime back. Doesn't that bother you even a little?"
She actually used Elizabeth's name. This could be interesting. "No, Elizabeth and I .. we spent alot of time together back then."
It wasn't the way he said it. It's the body langauge Gia noticed. "Is that when you stayed at her studio?"
Jason's eyes darted away for just a second. His mind remembering every night when Elizabeth slept just a few feet away... "Yes."
Waiting for more. "That's it. Yes? Come on Jason give me something here. I travel with you for a week and you can't even tell me a few details?"
"What's between Elizabeth and I are our buisness, not your."
"Oh, you said What's, not what was. I think I feel much better about Little Lizzy NOT stealing my boyfriend. Because man, you got her number down pat." Fanning herself with a little flare.
Jason actually smiled. Shocking Gia. "Oh my God. You actually have facial expressions."
"Don't push it Gia."
Just then Stephen Cassadine stepped from a returned launch. Jason pulled Gia back behind some rocks. His hands over her mouth, warning her as well.
Stephen pulled out his cell. "Alexis. No, it's important. Yes, it's about Nicholas... He's fine. Listen I need you to run a check for me. Legal matters... How much of the Cassadine fortune is inherited from the Romanov's? In the back ground even Jason and Gia could hear Alexis say. "Don't tell me you actually watched the movie Anastisa and worried Oh, no the Cassadine Legacy will crumble... Come on Stephen. They're dead... It's part of the reason our family fled Russia in the first place."
Stephen sighed. "Just investigate the possilbitiy. It's a matter of grave importance."
