Chapter One: Falling out of Trees
She had climbed the tree to see him. She wanted to tell him the good news. She had been so great and suave. She could have put all those 1930 actresses to shame. Not only had she stolen the cards from Tracy Quartermaine she had gotten the older woman to promise in writing that she would let Dillion stay in Port Charles until his eighteenth birthday, and by then he would be of legal age to decide where he wanted to be. And she hoped that he would want to be close to her. In fact she would have bet everything she owned that he would have wanted to stay as close to her as possible until this very moment. As she sat precariously on the limb of the Oak outside his window she couldn’t believe what she saw. There he was locked in a passionate embrace with Alcazar’s niece. She felt the tears come to her eyes and as she went to wipe them away she lost her balance and felt herself falling before she could do anything to stop herself. She felt the wind rush through her hair as branches whipped at the sides of her face until her back hit the Earth with a heavy thud. It knocked the wind right out of her and then everything went dark.
When she awoke she had a heavy headache and she knew that her tailbone had to be broken or at least fractured to some degree. No one could be in this much pain without breaking something. She lifted herself onto her elbows as she tried to figure out what the hell happened. As she looked up and saw his bedroom, everything came flooding back to her in a flash. The climb up to his window, the sight of him with his arms wrapped around Sage, and then her fall. Yeah she really remembered the fall. She groaned as she slowly stood up and brushed herself off and saw the blood on the inside of her palm. There was a long cut right down the center of her hand and for some reason she knew that she had a serious bruise on the right temple. She could practically feel the knot that was protruding from the side. As she looked up and saw that his light had been turned out, she felt sick with the images that flew through her mind. He was probably in there with her right now… or maybe by now they were done. She didn’t know… she didn’t want to know. Turning away from him she began making her way away from the mansion vowing to never return.
Limping on the ankle that didn’t hurt too badly she finally stopped at the docks and took a seat on the bench. She needed a breather after that long walk. Besides she was in no rush to get home… to the empty answering machine as well as her empty room. Leaning back into the wooden bench she exhaled deeply feeling the tears come to her eyes once again. She gritted her teeth frustrated as she wiped them away.
“Way to go Georgie! You are so stupid!” She scolded herself. She should have just done it with him… at least that’s what the irrational part of her brain was saying. She shook her head angrily and bit her lower lip trying to keep her tears at bay but failing miserably.
“Hey… are you okay?”
Looking up she sat there frozen for a moment not sure what to say. Honestly she couldn’t remember what the question was. Was there a question?
She saw him take a seat beside her and look at her face. “That’s a real nasty bruise you have there.” Reaching out to touch her temple she backed up out of instinct.
“It’s… it’s not that bad, Mr. Corinthos.”
He nodded. “How did you get it?”
She cleared her throat to give herself time to process his question before answering. “I… I uh… fell out of a tree.” Hearing the statement and seeing the look of confusion on his face made her chuckle slightly. “You know that statement would be kind of funny if I didn’t hurt so much.” She whispered softly.
Staring at her he could tell that she meant emotionally hurting as well as physically. He sighed. “I don’t think there’s anything funny about your pain.”
She nodded. “Thank you Mr. Corinthos.”
“Call me Sonny… Do you need me to take you somewhere, maybe to General Hospital?” He offered.
She shook her head. “No hospital. The last place that I need to go is there so that Bobbie Spencer can call my dad so he can come rushing down there like I’m on my deathbed.” She remarked sarcastically.
“How about I take you home? I can have my driver drop you off there.”
Once again she shook her head. “No good. Maxie, my sister, is there and I don’t want her to see me this way.”
“What way? You’re hurt and you act like that’s something to be ashamed of.”
She sighed. “You don’t understand… she is going to take one look at me and know. She’ll just know that… that I got fooled just like she did. She’ll know… God why do all guys have to be the same? I thought that Dillion was different but they’re all lying, cheating, and sons of…”She trailed off shaking her head angrily lost in images of Dillion with Sage
Sonny raised an eyebrow at her implied language. He never took her for the kind of girl to use those kinds of words. She shook her head. “Sorry about that. I just… It’s not important. You don’t care.” She remarked.
He shrugged. “That’s not true. I do care. And just so you know all guys aren’t like this Dillion kid.”
“Yeah that’s what I used to think.”
“I know it seems that way now because you’re hurt. But I want you to sit here for a second and think back on some of the good times that you had with him. I mean a moment where you thought that you couldn’t be happier. Can you think of a moment?” She sat there with her eyes closed. “Yeah… I can.” She whispered.
“Now can you honestly tell me that in that moment you could believe that Dillion is like every other guy out there?”
There was a moment of silence that settled over them on the docks. “No…” And with that answer a fresh new wave of tears came. “You know… he told me that he loved me… he told me that I made him feel like he belonged.”
“And you don’t believe him?”
“I do… but if it’s true then how can he be with someone else?” She asked brokenly not understanding. “I hate him! I hate…” Her words broke off as she shook her head not wanting to cry. She laughed at her emotional state. “Look at me. I’m out here in the middle of the night in tears with a suspected gangster all cut up and bruised afraid to go home. I know I look stupid.”
“You don’t look stupid. You’re a young woman who’s upset talking to someone that is willing to listen. But what do you say we get you off these docks?”
“I don’t have anywhere to go.”
“Come on. Let’s get you cleaned up.”
“I don’t want to go to the hospital.”
“Who said anything about a hospital?” He questioned taking stand. “Just come on.” He remarked. She hesitated only for a moment before getting up. She stood on her bad ankle and toppled into him. “Hold on there.” He stated steadying her.
She looked up and smiled. “Thanks.” She replied letting him lead the way.

Chapter Two: Bonding with the Mob
She let him lead her into his penthouse. It was bigger then she remembered. The last time she came here was when she wanted to return that money from Faith Roscoe. That name brought back a bitter memory.
“Take a seat while I go and get the first aid kit.” He stated removing his suit jacket and disappearing upstairs.
Limping over to the couch she stumbled onto one of the cushions and sighed deeply. Letting her eyes wander around the apartment she took in her surroundings with an interested eye. There was a full bar filled with bottles of probably the most expensive liquor. She figured someone like Sonny Corinthos only had the best. She saw the pictures of his family above the fireplace. There was a little boy with red hair and freckles. That had to be Michael. She didn’t know him too well. She knew that he was Lucas’ nephew but they hardly spent anytime together. And that was the same for his half-sister, Carly. She had only been encountered with the older blond a few times but she knew that Carly was one of a kind and very strong. It seemed as if you had to be, in order to be around Sonny. She had heard about Jason’s line of work; he was in the papers every other day. And she had seen Courtney’s strength first hand when she came and rescued her and Dillion from Faith’s that day at the hotel.
She jumped slightly when she heard his footsteps on the stairs as he came back to the living room. Sitting beside her he opened up the tin box pulling out ointments and bandages. “Okay here we go.”
He was about to dab at the first cut on her face when she winced before he could even touch her. She smiled awkwardly. “Sorry… I’m just a big baby I guess.” She remarked. “That’s probably why Dillion wanted to be with Sage or Faith or whatever other girl was out there. I mean who wants to wait on little old Georgie Jones?” She asked mainly to herself.
“You say it like waiting is a bad thing and it’s not. If he really cared about you…” He began.
“Right I know. If he really cared about me he would wait. But I mean come on. Are you telling me that you’ve never really cared about someone that you wanted to be with… in that way?” She asked.
He sat there thinking back on one girl in particular… a brunette with a million-watt smile. A small smile came to his lips without his consent.
“See!” She pointed at him. “Sometimes it’s not about whether or not you care about the person. Sometimes it’s just about how you feel. And as much as I feel that I’m not ready he felt that he was. Why couldn’t I just do it?”
He sighed. “Because sex is something that you should never just do! It’s an intense, passionate, serious act. And there are a lot of responsibilities that go along with it. Look I know you may not want to hear this because you hear it all the time but the truth is, if you feel that you’re not ready, then don’t rush it. Don’t push it. And if he can’t wait then screw him. Listen to me. I’m a guy so trust me I know what he’s going through but you know what? I’m a man now and I learned a lot and one of the most important things I learned is that relationships aren’t built on pressuring those you claim to care about into doing something they’re not ready to do. I don’t care if he feels ready the bottom line is, you’re not!” He gave her a meaningful look letting her know that he really believed in what he was saying and not just giving her a parental line of wisdom.
She smiled. “Thanks. I think I’m ready to try again.”
He nodded raising his hand to her face and beginning to clean her up when Carly came through the door. She raised her eyebrows at Georgie’s frazzled appearance. “What happened to you?” She asked throwing her purse onto the desk near the door.
“A little accident. She fell out of a tree.” Sonny commented with a smile, which she returned.
“A tree? What were you doing in a tree at night? And where were you?” She asked.
“I was uh… at the Quartermaines.” She remarked awkwardly.
“The Quartermaines… What’s at the Quartermaines other than Lila, a Rose garden, and Emily?” She asked herself mainly and then something clicked. “And the new addition to that dysfunctional clan… all coming together. So what you had a secret midnight rendezvous?” She asked ready to dish some dirt in that good-natured womanly way.
Georgie shook her head. “Yeah it was secret all right. A secret from me as well you could say.”
Carly picked up on the woman intuition and nodded. “Hey honey why don’t you let me take over here and you can make us something healthy to eat?”
“Why? You’re not going to eat it anyway.”
“True but Georgie might be hungry.” She shot back motioning for him to leave. Kissing her on the cheek he retreated into the kitchen. “All right now that the testosterone has left the room vent to a woman who can understand what you’re going through.” She stated moving to occupy Sonny’s previous seat and taking up the task of cleaning Georgie’s face.
“It’s not… I mean it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have made him wait and that’s probably why he went to her.”
“Okay wait a minute and back up. He’s with who?”
“This girl named Sage. I caught them about to… you know.” She remarked wincing slightly as Carly touched a sensitive area.
“Sorry. Okay Dillion, your boyfriend was with some other girl named Sage and somehow that’s your fault? You’re going to have to explain that to me.”
“Because he wanted to be with me. He wanted me to be his first.”
“Then he should have waited!” She shot back.
“Or maybe I should have just given in.”
Carly stopped in her tracks staring at this young girl who had so much going on for her. She was everything that Carly had wanted to be when she was her age. She had brains and beauty and she didn’t realize how rare that combination was. “Listen to me. Take this from a girl who lost her virginity way too soon. Don’t just jump into something like that without being sure that you’re ready. Because guess what? It is something that you remember for the rest of your life. And I’m not saying that it’ll be perfect or like all those movies you see or books you probably read. But the moment and the experience will be yours and if you can’t look back on it with a smile and view it as something worth cherishing, then it’ll be a waste. The thing about real life is that it’s real and that makes it so much better then fiction.”
Georgie sighed. Isn’t that what she had been trying to get through to Dillion ever since she met him? But in all honesty a part of her liked to believe that her life could be like a movie with her own leading man. The only problem was she had never been his leading lady and it hurt. “It’s just… I can’t compete with someone like her. I don’t know how. I wouldn’t know where to begin.”
“Where to begin? Georgie you are smart and beautiful and you probably have more sense in your pinkie then that girl has in her entire head. You don’t have to compete because you’re right you can’t. And do you know why? Because you are so out of her league!” She replied.
“I don’t feel out of her league.”
“But you are. Listen I probably was more like Sage then you could ever imagine and I ran across girls like you all the time and I always thought the same thing. They had brains and they had beauty and in the back of my mind I wanted to be them and I resented the fact that I wasn’t. And so I did what made the most sense to me. I went after their boyfriends and sabotaged their relationships because my body was all I had. But you have more then that, so use it. Okay?”
She smiled. “Okay.”
“All right! Now let’s get you cleaned up and get you home before Mac sends out an entire police force looking for you.” She remarked.
She laughed softly. It was the first real laugh she had all evening. “Thanks Carly.”
“Yeah whatever. Don’t mention it.”
At that moment Sonny came back with a tray full of vegetables and fruit but as a surprise there were chips as well. Setting the tray down he sighed. “Here we go.”
“Do my eyes deceive me or are those chips on that tray?” Carly asked.
“Yeah I thought Georgie might like them. You know I found them in the very back of one of the cabinets. You wouldn’t know anything about that would you?”
“I put them back there because of Michael. He likes to climb on the chairs and sneak junk food.” She quickly defended not looking him in the eye realizing that she had been caught.
“Eat up and then I’ll have my driver take you home.” Sonny remarked gesturing toward the food.
Carly reached for a chip when Sonny stopped her. “What?”
“You get the vegetable.” He said handing her a carrot stick, which she took grudgingly.
Georgie laughed and for the moment there was no Dillion or Sage just her, having a good time.

Chapter Three: Breaking up is the Beginning
It’s amazing how fast the weekend can pass you by when you’re dreading the beginning of the week. Since the start of the day she had made sure to be anywhere that she knew he wouldn’t. She just wasn’t ready to face him yet. Although being around Carly and Sonny had helped her realize that she hadn’t done anything wrong there was still a small part of her that felt ashamed and embarrassed that he had been with someone else. It was almost like being kicked in the face or publicly humiliated even though no one knew. But it didn’t change the way she felt on the inside. And so she thought it would be best if she just dodged him and gave herself more time to deal with her current situation.
By the end of the day she was so tired of avoiding him that she thought she might collapse right there in the empty hallway. She purposely hung back in her class asking her AP History teacher mundane questions to take up time. As she stuffed her books in her bad lazily she felt the full weight of each text. She realized that through her great planning of stalling the teacher she had missed her bus, which meant she would be walking the entire two miles home. She rolled her eyes. “Real smart Georgie. You’ve got the brains for an Ivy League school but can’t seem to plan a better dodging system. You’ve really got to work on that.” She muttered mainly to herself as she closed the locker she jumped back at Dillion’s face.
“Do you always talk to yourself when you think no one is around?” He asked leaning against the row of metal lockers with his book-bag slung over one shoulder.
She stared at him unable to respond. She just stood there looking at him. Starting at his spiky hair and traveling down to his greenish blue eyes. Onto his perfectly shaped nose and down to his lips. She saw the minor cleft in his chin that was only visible when you were close up to his black wool sweater that hung over his hands where his fingers just barely peeked out. His dark blue jeans that were slightly baggy covered his black boots somewhat wet from the icy rain outside. He was perfect in her eyes… so damn perfect that he wasn’t for her.
“Georgie.” He called her name making her look back up at him. He could see the tale, tale markings of cuts on the sides of her cheeks and the discoloration of a bruise on her left temple. When he reached out to touch her though she backed away. “What’s wrong? What happened to your face?”
She stood there hearing words from a time long ago or so it seemed…
“We had this really great beginning and I’m not ready for us to end just yet.”
“We won’t… not now… not ever.”
She felt the tears come to her eyes as a soft laughter escaped her lips. It was all so damn poetic and surreal. She had gotten caught up in a fantasy, a movie fantasy. Directed by none other then Dillion Quartermaine starring herself and whomever just happened to get caught up in their stupid cinematic dream. She shook her head as she began to walk around him when he reached out and grabbed her arm. “Georgie? Where are you going? What’s going on?” He asked not understanding her silence.
She looked down at his hand holding her arm and for a moment she couldn’t breathe. His touch was too much and then that same arm wrapped around Sage’s body flooded her mind and without warning she yanked away. “Don’t touch me! Don’t ever touch me again!” She turned on her heel and exited out into the stormy weather.
The rain hit her face on impact and she blinked a few times before jogging down the steps and beginning the walk. Dillion wasn’t too far behind as he caught up with her. “Georgie, what is wrong?” When he didn’t get an answer he ran his hand across his face trying to see her through the icy downpour. “Okay can you tell me what I did so that I can fix it because right now I’m at a complete lost here.” She only kept walking picking up the pace. “I mean is this a woman thing that I as a man could never understand?” He joked and knew in an instant that it was the wrong move because she didn’t even crack a smile. He couldn’t understand it and he was beginning to tire of his one-sided banter. He was cold, wet and had obviously did something that he couldn’t fathom. Reaching out he grabbed her rain sodden hand and held it for dear life. “Georgie please just talk…” He trailed off seeing the tears in her eyes as they ran down her lightly scratched cheeks. It was strange that he could see them so clearly when it was raining so hard but they were there. “Georgie… what happened to you?” His voice was soft almost inaudible.
“I saw you.” She whispered brokenly.
“You saw me?” He asked not understanding.
“I saw you… last night in your room. I saw you with her.”
Recognition clouded his eyes as he began to understand. “Georgie listen to me… it’s not…”
“It’s not what I think.” She finished the sentence for him. “I know. It never is Dillion. It’s never what I think. You’re always the innocent one and I always have to be the understanding one and believe in you. But you know what? I’m tired. I am so tired of walking in on you with some other girl and you telling me that it’s not what it looks like. Well this time I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to know… I don’t want to care.”
“Sage came to my room and threw herself at me. What you saw…”
“What I saw was a boy reacting to an attractive girl when his hormones are doing the thinking. You had your arms wrapped around her and she may have started kissing you but you kissed her back. I saw you. Don’t deny it.”
He sighed running his hands through his soggy hair. “Okay look I may have kissed her back but it was only for a second or two before I pushed her away. I told her to leave. Nothing happened.”
“God Dillion! Something did happen! You kissed her back because you wanted to. You wanted to be with her! It doesn’t matter that you pushed her away. The bottom line is that you wanted her… you still do. And there is nothing that I can do about that. I’m not ready to try and do something about it.” She stated.
“I told you that we can wait. I told you that I would wait for you.”
“Can you? Because the guy I saw last night didn’t look like he could wait. And still doesn’t change the fact that you want her.”
He shook his head. “What do you want me to say? I can’t deny that I find her attractive. I mean come on Georgie I’m a teenage guy! I can’t control what I feel. The point here is, I didn’t act on it.”
“You did!” She countered.
“But I stopped it! I stopped it because I love you and that changes everything. My love for you outweighs any passing physical attraction that I feel for someone else.”
“It doesn’t matter.”
“It does matter! We matter. You and me, remember. It’s about us Georgie!” Reaching out he cupped her face in his palms trying to make her see just how devoted he was.
She stared back at him. Her tears mingled with the pouring rain plastering her hair to her cheeks. He still didn’t understand. “No Dillion it doesn’t matter. You know you were right… we did have a really great beginning. Maybe it really was something that memorable movies are made of… but every movie has to end. And since you insist on placing us in some cinematic role, then I guess it’s only fitting that we give into fate and succumb to our end.” She whispered.
He shook his head. “Georgie stop and listen to me…”
“I mean it is only fitting right? Here out in the pouring rain. Isn’t this some kind of cosmic connection with the ultimate tragic end?” She laughed without humor. “I think we rank right up there with Romeo and Juliet except we dodged the whole dying thing. Couldn’t really explain that to Mac could I?” Reaching up she removed his hands from her face. “I’ll see you Dillion.” One last look and she was turning and walking away. Her form faded into the grayness of the storm, as he stood there alone.

Chapter Four: If Opportunity Knocks will you answer?
He had been calling for the past few days. Mostly leaving messages for her on her cellular phone. He had shown up at her house once or twice but each time thankfully she had been out, either at the library or staying after school. It was just safer that way. And when she was in school she avoided him as best she could. There were always the minor encounters that she couldn’t help but she always managed to weasel out of those as well. She figured that sooner or later he would lose interest. Besides he couldn’t have been that interested to start with. Running her hands through her hair she sighed as she sat at an outside table at Kelly’s. Sipping on her hot chocolate she didn’t even notice when someone took the seat across from her.
“You know I would ask you how you’re doing but I really don’t think I have to. By that far away look on your face I think it’s clear as to where your mind was.” Carly stated with a good-natured smirk.
Georgie sighed, realizing that she had been caught. “Was it that obvious?”
“Only to someone who’s had her heart broken a time or two. So really how are you holding up?”
“Well… I’ve been better but I’m doing okay I guess.” She answered honestly.
“That’s good. So are you just planning on hanging out here all day or do you have plans?”
“I was… planning on hanging out here pretty much.”
“Not anymore. You know I think that you have way too much time on your hands and I think it’s time we did something about that.”
“Meaning what?” She asked.
“Well how would you like a job?”
“A job? Doing what?”
“Being Michael’s play buddy.”
She furrowed her brow. “You want me to be your son’s baby-sitter? I thought that he had one.”
Carly shook her head. “Michael does have a baby-sitter and Leticia is great. She’s the best sitter that I’ve ever had… she’s the only sitter that I’ve ever had.” She remarked getting sidetracked for just a moment. “Anyway, like I was saying… you wouldn’t be Michael’s baby-sitter. You would be his designated hang out buddy. You would come over and play with him and teach him a few things that mothers shouldn’t know about and all that great stuff. What do you say? You could come over a few times a week after school and I could pay you… how about one hundred bucks a week?” She asked.
Georgie raised her eyebrows. “A hundred bucks a week for just hanging out with Michael?” She asked. “Are you serious?”
“Hey trust me you will most certainly earn your money. Remember that’s my kid. He has my blood and my energy running through his veins.” She commented with a smile. “So what do you say?”
“I say… yes! Yes I would love to!” She was so ecstatic that reality hadn’t sunk in yet but in a moment or so it did. “Wait! What am I thinking? There is no way that my dad is going to let me work for you.”
“And why not?”
Georgie shrugged uncomfortably. “Because… you’re you… I mean you’re Carly… Corinthos. And your husband is Sonny Corinthos and there is no way that he’s going to let me anywhere near your house.”
Carly sighed. “Then perhaps you shouldn’t tell him.”
Georgie stared at the blond. “Are you saying that I should lie to him?”
Placing her palms beneath her chin she exhaled deeply. “Look I’m not trying to get you in trouble with Mac and God knows that lying to him would probably do more harm then good so you know what; forget I said anything. Just let it go. It was a bad idea.”
“No! No, it wasn’t. It’s a great idea. I would love to work for you.” She exclaimed excitedly.
“Are you sure?”
“I’ve never been more sure of anything in my whole life. I promise you Carly you won’t regret this.”
She smiled. “I know. So how about you come by my house tomorrow and we can set up a tentative schedule?”
She nodded. “That would be great.”
“Are you going to be able to get away?”
“Yeah it should be no problem. I’ll think of something.” She remarked not having the slightest clue of what she was about to get herself into.
Carly shook her head. “Well then I will see you tomorrow.” As she got up to leave she stopped. “Oh and by the way, your cuts are clearing up nicely. I guess those few days of training to be a nurse came in handy after all.” She replied before walking away.
Fingering the scratches on her face and then the bruise on her forehead she sighed. Perhaps this would be the beginning of something good.
The next day was mildly interesting. She hadn’t seen Dillion in American History and realized that he must have skipped. Once class was over she had gotten all the way to the girl’s bathroom and pulled out her cellular phone and had dialed three digits into his number before she realized what she was doing. Closing her eyes she leaned into a stall and shook her head. This was going to be harder then she thought. It wasn’t so easy to just turn off all those emotions that she had for him. The concern, the love, the anger, it was all still there holding onto her refusing to give an inch. Swallowing hard she wiped tears away from her eyes refusing to shed anymore as she thought back to that prom massacre...
“You know I wasn’t… I wasn’t trying to hurt you.” He whispered awkwardly.
She laughed humorlessly as she turned slightly in his direction but couldn’t bare to look at him. “Oh that’s a relief because if you ever actually tried to hurt me I could be in the hospital instead of alone on prom night… bawling my eyes out!” Looking him in the eye she shook her head. “I should be thanking you. You let me off real easy.”
“Maxie was trying to stop you from making a mistake. She asked for my help. What was I suppose to do?” He tried to make her understand.
“You should have told her no!” She yelled. “You should have told me my own sister was trying to set me up! Why did you let Maxie set me up? Why Dillion? Why did you want to hurt me?”
Staring at her with tears in her eyes he evened out his words trying to control his emotions. “The last thing that I want to do is hurt you.”
It always came back to him trying not to hurt her but always managing to succeed. A girl could only take so much before enough was enough. Running her fingers through her hair she shook her head. But now it was over. She had made sure of that. She had ended it. It was better this way. She wasn’t the one for him. As much as she disliked Sage, maybe the brunette had a point. Hell, maybe even Dillion’s wacko mother had a point. He needed someone that could be what he needed and give him what he wanted. She wasn’t that girl. She didn’t have a lot of money nor was she bred in one of those prestigious ‘old-money’ families. She didn’t have a family vault or rows and rows of ancestral portraits hung on the wall of her generation kept home. She just had her dad, the city police commissioner, a bratty older sister, and a mother whom always seemed to be on the go doing something that involved saving the world from mass destruction usually dealing with terrorists. And another parental figure that she hadn’t seen since she was ten. He was another out trying to save the world with the help of the WSB, while his two daughters were probably nothing more then a distant memory.
For some reason that’s the way her life was. She was a distant memory until someone needed something from her or she was falling out of line like the good little girl that she was suppose to be. The only real thing that was hers, the only thing that she had established for herself was her dream to go off to college and be someone. And by being someone she didn’t mean becoming a doctor or lawyer, although those things would be nice. She meant being a good mother to her kids and a good wife to her husband. She had high aspirations of achieving tremendous goals in the business world but she had high hopes of achieving the same success in her own personal social life. She wanted to be the mother that she dreamed of and the adventurous woman that her own mom was. She wanted to do both and be great in each. That was her dream. And for a long time that was all she had until Dillion. He came along and showed her that she could be anything that she wanted and it made her expand her vision for the future. Instead of trying to find Mr. Right she had him firmly pictured in her head. And it was him. No longer did she look so far ahead into the distant future but was finally paying attention to her life in that moment with him. But it was foolish to think that she could do that and still hold onto Princeton. She had to realize that all dreams need their space and trying to cram too many into one lifetime just isn’t realistic. Dillion was a nice distraction and wonderful while it lasted but there were more important things to deal with… and he wasn’t one of them anymore.

Chapter Five: If Words were Gold, You’d be richer than Midas
He waited for her at her house for almost an hour. He had been perched on the limb of her oak tree practically plunging about thirty feet to the ground a few times but he refused to leave. He knew that she would come home soon. It was a routine for her and he knew her schedule like the back of his own hand in fact maybe even better. So he sat there as the minutes ticked by getting lost within his own world...
“Hey Georgie?”
“Yeah?” She turned around with a smile.
He fumbled with the right words trying to get her to see just what he felt inside. “The thing about movies… every great one has a great beginning…” Gesturing wildly with one hand to emphasize his point he continued. “This today, here… it’s ours.”
She smiled and in that moment he could see in her eyes that she got exactly what he meant; she got exactly how he felt and she probably had no idea how rare that was for someone like him.
He had never known anyone to get him that well. She could look at him and feel what he was feeling. It was almost like she was staring into his soul every time she looked into his eyes. But somehow he had messed that up and now when she looked at him it was almost as if she were staring at a stranger. Her eyes no longer held the recognition and understanding that they once had and the reason was because of him and now all he wanted to do was fix it anyway that he could if she would let him. So here he was waiting. But it seemed that his waiting was going to be in vain because she was still nowhere in sight. Just when he was about to give up he saw the door open through the shades of her window. He couldn’t tell who it was but she was small about Georgie’s height and he figured it must be her. Without hesitation he began tapping furiously on the windowpane and was surprised when the blinds were pulled up and instead of Georgie Maxie stood in her place.
“What are you doing here?” They both asked at the same time.
He sighed and shook his head. “Where’s Georgie?” He asked.
“And why would I tell you anything about my sister or where she is?” She shot back.
“Because believe it or not I care about her.”
“Really? You sure have a funny way of showing it.”
“Would I be sitting in this tree if I didn’t?”
She shrugged. “I don’t know. You also were in your room kissing some girl that you were only supposed to be guarding. That sure doesn’t inspire trust in people. Neither does humiliating my sister in front of the entire school!”
“I know… would you just please listen to me!” He pleaded frustrated.
She stood there with her arms crossed debating silently. “You’ve got two minutes and then I’m shoving you off that branch and calling Mac.” She threatened.
He nodded. “I made a mistake. I really screwed up but you have got to believe me. I care about your sister. I love Georgie. There isn’t a person in this world that means more to me then her and no one gets me like she does.”
“So you go and kiss some Arms dealer’s niece? Yeah that sure sounds like love.”
“It was an accident.” He remarked through clenched teeth. “One that I am trying to make up for. But I can’t do that without Georgie. I mean… God Maxie haven’t you ever been so caught up in someone that you thought that they were the reason, they were the whole point as to why you even exist? Well, she’s it. Georgie is the point. She’s the whole meaning of it all. And I need her. God help me, but I do.” He whispered empathetically.
Maxie stared at him not wanting to believe him but finding herself doing it. She rolled her eyes. “She got a new job after school tutoring some kid.” She replied.
“What kid?”
Maxie shrugged. “I don’t know. Some football player I think. That’s what she told my dad.” She stated.
He simply sat there nine thousand scenarios running through his head of his Georgie with some good looking football jock putting the moves on her. He had seen the same thing in countless movies. The popular sports player always swept the smart girl off her feet.
Maxie could see where his train of thought was going and smirked. “You know perhaps she might do more then raise his G.P.A. for him while she’s there.”
He looked sharply at her and clenched his jaw. “In case you hadn’t noticed, Georgie doesn’t go for brain dead jocks. She has more sense then that.”
Maxie shrugged not convinced. “True… but she also might see the diamond in the ruff and set out to uncover his hidden charms. Who knows?” She asked tauntingly. This was what she was good at. Making people squirm and right now it came in handy as she saw the uncomfortable look on his face. She never did much for her younger sister, mainly because they were always fighting. But this she could do. “You know all the after school study sessions, alone… something might develop. And she won’t even have to worry about who you’re spending your nights with anymore. Because she won’t care.” She concluded raising her hands to the windowpane; she closed it in his face. With a light wave of her fingertips she shut the curtains and walked away thoroughly satisfied with herself.
HarborView Towers…
Running her hands up and down her jeans nervously she jumped slightly as she heard the bell ding signaling that this was her floor. As the doors parted and she got off she stared motionless at the man standing before her. He was tall with dark black hair dressed in one of those fancy Italian suits that she always saw mobsters wear in those classics Dillion made her watch. Walking slowly toward Sonny’s door she stopped in front of him.
“Hi… I uh… my name is… Georgie Jones and I think… I mean I’m here to see Mrs. Corinthos.” She stuttered.
The guy gave her a nod. “Wait here.” He instructed. Knocking on the door he watched as he stuck his head inside and announced her arrival.
She thought she might have felt a flutter of importance run through her if she hadn’t been so nervous and scared. A moment later he turned back to her and gestured for her to go inside. She took the steps slowly until she was right on the threshold and then scurried across into the apartment. The phrase ‘out of the frying pan and into the fire’ danced into her head for a moment before vanishing as she saw Sonny Corinthos over by the fireplace with Jason Morgan standing not to far away.
Both pairs of eyes turned to look at her and she suddenly felt like she would pass out with lack of air. She pointed behind her not taking her eyes off the two guys in front of her. “He said… that guy told me that I could come in.” She mumbled nervously.
Sonny nodded with a smile. “Yeah, I know.” He replied.
She stood there for a moment before she put two and two together. “Of course you know. I mean it’s your house and he works for you and I mean I heard him when he said my name, which you obviously heard… and I’m rambling. So I’m just going to shut-up now.” She rushed out in one breath.
Jason looked over at Sonny with a raised eyebrow, and Sonny simply shook his head. “Georgie this is Jason Morgan, a very good friend.”
Walking over he went to shake her hand and she nodded. “Yeah I know we’ve met… I mean we haven’t really met, at least officially but I know you. Well I don’t really know you know you but I read about you in the papers all the time and Dillion’s talked about you. And then of course my dad has arrested you a few times… and there I go again.” She stopped herself.
Jason let a small laugh escape him. “I remember you. You didn’t talk this much the last time though.” He stated honestly.
“Just a little nervous.”
Sonny shrugged. “No need to be. Carly’s right next door with Courtney. Have you met Courtney?” He asked absently pouring himself a drink.
She nodded. “Kind of. She works at Kelly’s um and I came by here once before.” She replied vaguely.
Sonny raised an eyebrow trying to recall her visit but couldn’t. “Really?”
“Yeah… it was about Faith and some money.” She evaded.
He sighed. “Right, I remember something about that. So how are you feeling?”
“Better. I feel a little better.”
“What happened to you?” Jason inquired.
“I uh… I fell out of a tree.” When he didn’t ask how or why she dropped the subject.
“That’s good… about you being better. You know if you want you can go next door and see Carly. I’m sure she’s waiting on you.”
“Thanks.” She stated waving briefly before scurrying out the door.
“Nice girl.” Sonny stated.
“Yeah… talks a lot.” Jason remarked.
Sonny nodded. “You noticed?” He joked back with a smile before returning to business.
Walking across the hall she stopped right outside the door hesitating. For some reason she just couldn’t move and in the back of her mind she debated with herself. ‘Could she really do this?’ ‘Was this something that she wanted?’
She had always been responsible and levelheaded and working for Carly Corinthos and lying to her family about it, wasn’t either of those things. And how was this any different from Dillion working for someone like Alcazar? Well for one she wasn’t doing anything illegal. And she wasn’t working for a mobster per say, just his wife. And she was only doing a form of baby-sitting. And besides the extra cash could come in handy. One hundred dollars a week came out to four hundred dollars a month and that could go toward her college fund. Even without a scholarship she might be able to support her own way through an Ivy League school. So she was doing something good with it. She was working the system to her advantage.
“That won’t fly to well with Mac.” She said softly, chiding herself for applying such an anomie theory to her actions. She knew better then that. But maybe that was point. She always knew better and everyone always expected more from her. She was the good girl who always did the right thing but never reaped any rewards for it. She may take the higher road but where did it get her? It got her a broken heart with a sore butt and a bruised ego as well as a bruised forehead.
Raising her hand she knocked on the door about to embark on something that she would never forget.

Chapter Six: Doing what you Least Expect of Me
After working out a tentative schedule with Carly and having a hearty lunch cooked by Courtney she now had a new job after school four days a week. Monday through Thursday she would go to HarborView Towers and hang out with Michael for a few hours and help him with his homework. It was actually something new for her. She had never been responsible for someone else before. She had never taken care of anyone and this would be nice and interesting. Looking down at her watch she realized that she had to get home. She had promised Mac that she wouldn’t be out after seven. Running across the docks she bumped right into the last person she wanted to see. Running her hands through her hair she sighed deeply.
“Aren’t we in a hurry? Where are you going? Attempting to throw yourself into Dillion’s bed again?” Sage asked.
Georgie rolled her eyes. “Leave me alone Sage!”
“Is that your best comeback? No wonder Dillion wants to be with me.”
“Then why aren’t you with him? Maybe because he doesn’t want you!”
“Now if you really believed that why did you break up with him? I’ll tell you why. Because you knew it was only a matter of time before he gave in. Come on Georgie just admit it! You know in your heart that Dillion finds me attractive and sooner or later he’s going to let me in his bed.”
Georgie stayed silent, fuming within her own anger because inside she did believe those things and it burned her up. Everything that Sage was saying she had thought for herself and Dillion had already openly admitted that he found her attractive. “You know what? Maybe you’re right. Maybe he will let you in his bed and you may have sex with him. But he let me in his heart.”
Sage smirked. “Now what good is that when I occupy his thoughts Georgie? I mean let’s get real. That little statement is cute and sweet and reserved for those adolescent romance books that you probably have stored beneath your bed. But this is real life and in real life the flesh is a lot more powerful then the heart.”
Tears brimmed in her eyes but she wouldn’t cry. “Are those tears I see? Is little Georgie Jones going to cry?” She asked.
“Get out of my way before I slap you on the other side of your cheek!” She threatened angrily.
“So you do have a backbone in there huh?” She taunted.
“Go to hell!” She whispered harshly walking past Sage bumping her shoulder and knocking the brunette slightly off balance as she went by.
As she came through her front door she was bombarded with questions from Maxie about her the new guy that she was tutoring and it dawned on her that she would have to come up with someone. She stuttered for a moment before settling on the first name that popped into her head. “Chris…” She lamely replied.
Maxie stood there for a second before drawing her own conclusions. “Chris Camron, the quarterback? You’re tutoring a senior?” She asked.
Georgie nodded as she walked around her sister and began to remove her scarf from around her neck. Suddenly it felt like it was choking her. Throwing it on her bed she kept her back to her sister as she unbuttoned her coat. “Yeah, well you know he’s got to keep his grades up if he’s going to stay on the team.” She remarked.
“Well yeah obviously I mean but you’re a Junior Georgie. You’re not even in the same Class as him.”
“Doesn’t mean that I’m not as smart if not smarter. I’m going to an Ivy League school, Chris will be lucky if he can get into a Community College and that’s only with my help.” She boasted without substance. The truth was, she had no idea what kind of student Chris Camron was. She could only speculate and feed on all the stereotypes that she had heard of about sports players, figuring that Maxie wouldn’t dispute it.
Leaning into the doorframe with her arms crossed Maxie nodded. “You’re right, he is a jock. But that’s still cool either way. I mean spending all your free time with a popular guy like him. And although I doubt he’ll actually give you the time of day it will turn heads at school, give Dillion something to worry about.” She muttered.
Georgie’s ears perked up without her control at the mention of his name. “It’s just a job.”
“But Dillion doesn’t have to know that. And after what I said to him today I’m sure he’ll be watching you.”
Turning to her sister. “What do you mean after today? What happened today? What did you do?” She questioned.
Maxie shrugged innocently. “I just told him that he should watch his back because you got someone new in your life.”
“Maxie! What were you thinking? What is your problem?”
“Nothing is my problem. I was trying to help you!”
“By lying? The last thing I need is for rumors to start about me, anymore that is! I’m tired of being the school gossip! I just…” She bit off frustrated with everything. She hadn’t even started her new job and already her lies were spinning out of control.
“What is wrong with you? You act like I just ruined your life. I was trying to get back at Dillion for hurting you. I was trying to do you a favor, but you know what next time I’ll just let people walk all over you!” She shouted back before storming out.
Georgie almost went after her but stopped herself. She had way too many things on her mind. For one she had to figure out how she was going to get Chris Camron, one of the best football players on the Varsity team, to allow her to tutor him, or at least keep up the pretense that she was. This really was starting to be more trouble then it was worth.
The Next Day…
Walking through the halls she found him standing at the end of the row of lockers unpacking his bag. Of course he was surrounded by a group of guys, that had to be his friends. It was either now or never. She had to get to him before rumors got around school and her whole cover was blown. Taking her steps deliberately slow she stopped right outside his group of friends. He was taller then most with his reddish hair standing out amongst the crowd. She heard someone crack a crude joke about the biology teacher and a dead frog and heard his laughter ring out over the others. She rolled her eyes and cleared her throat loudly a few times before anyone noticed her. All eyes turned to the intruder but his were the only ones that seemed even remotely interested and friendly. The green sapphires seemed to dance inside his head as a small smirk came to his lips.
“Can we help you?” Another boy asked accusingly.
She opened her mouth waited and then shut it again when nothing came out. She exhaled deeply before trying again. “I… I need to talk to… Chris.” She managed.
The boys looked at one another and she could tell this was about to get ugly and self-deprecating but his voice saved her.
“Sure… I’ll see you guys at lunch.” He stated looking at her briefly before turning to the boys.
They nodded not bothering to question him. She watched them leave in a group and break off into different directions as if hunting prey before turning back to him. “Thanks…” She muttered. He only raised an eyebrow. “Okay look, you don’t know me. My name is…”
“Georgie Jones, right.” It was more of a statement then a question. This time it was her turn to raise an eyebrow. He saw the questionable look on her face and nodded. “Word around school is that you’re tutoring me. I find that odd being that I’m pulling a 3.4 G.P.A. Now granted that’s not nearly as good as yours but I’m considered somewhat of a genius in the sports world.” He remarked. He wasn’t cocky at all but seemed extremely bemused and somewhat intrigued.
She looked around the hallway hoping that this wouldn’t be too demeaning. “3.4 huh? That’s… well I mean I could help you pull that up to a 3.8 you know.” When he smirked at her she sighed. “Okay look, I know that you don’t know me. I mean of course you don’t know me. You’re a senior and I’m just a little old junior who started this ridiculous rumor about you. And I know that you have no reason to back me up on it but if you do… I promise… well let’s just say that I’ll owe you one.”
Her words came out rushed and in one huge breath and then she went silent all at once waiting for him to say something. He stared at her with his bag draped over one shoulder looking at her with a stare she didn’t know how to describe. “Okay.” He shrugged.
She stared at him wide-eyed as if she was mistaken. “What?”
“I said okay. You want people to think that you’re tutoring me then fine. I’ll go along with it.” He replied.
“Are you for real? You’re really going to do this for me? I mean it’s that easy?”
“Yeah… I guess so.”
She stood there for a moment watching him check the contents of his book bag for all his books before shutting his locker. “What; do I have to pay you?”
He shook his head. “Nope. I don’t want your money.”
“Then why are you doing this? I mean some girl makes up this horrible rumor about you and you just let her?” She questioned.
“First off the rumor isn’t that bad. I’ve heard worst. And two, the way I see it, it’s not hurting me. I mean most people think that jocks are pretty inane people.” He looked at her pointedly. “So if you go around saying that you’re tutoring me it at least looks as if I’m making an effort to better myself. Whereas before people probably just assumed I cheated or had teachers just let me slide. It’s not a big deal. I actually come out with a better image. And three… you will owe me one.” He affirmed before walking by her and knocking his shoulder into hers softly. “See you Georgie Jones.”
She stood there not sure of how to take that but too giddy to dwell. She was in the clear. She had a job after school that paid more in a week then her babysitting job paid all month and now she had an airtight alibi. This is what Dillion would call the ‘perfect crime’. She smiled a little thinking of a better time with her ex-boyfriend…
Standing with her arms crossed she stared at the bike in disbelief. “Can you believe some idiot left the keys in the ignition?”
He admired the cool wheels letting his hand run over the handlebars before turning back to her. “What’s the problem; I’m right here.”
She eyed him skeptically. “It’s your bike?”
Taking steps closer he walked into her personal space. “What if it is?”
“It’s seriously cool.” She remarked her voice dropping as he came into kissing distance.
“You wanna ride?” His tone was suggestive.
She stuttered trying to gain some ground. “Is it yours?”
“You gonna ask Mac’s permission?”
“I don’t care what Mac thinks.”
“Then let’s go.” He challenged taking a moment to look her up and down before hopping on.
She hesitated only a moment shaking off any fears or doubts before jumping on behind him and adjusting herself onto the seat. She turned to see him handing her a helmet. “Uh-uh.” She stated.
“Yuh-huh!” He insisted.
She sighed deeply before taking it from his hands and putting it on. Wrapping her arms around his midsection firmly she saw him turn back and look at her. And even through the dimness of the shaded helmet she could almost see him smile before he turned back, revved the engine and they took off.
She could remember every wind that hit her face and every scent that invaded her nose. They went so fast and everything had felt so right. The danger and the excitement had mingled together creating a euphoria she had never experienced before he came along.
He had just come around the corner looking for her at her locker only to see that she wasn’t there but down the hall talking to the football quarterback Chris Camron, or as he liked to call him, Chris the moron. Now true he had no real substantial evidence that the guy was an idiot but he was a football player and that was enough. Not to mention he was standing a little too close to Georgie for his liking. Standing back trying to decide whether to walk away or go and confront him he couldn’t help but stare. And then he saw him walk by her brushing his shoulder into hers and it was enough to make him sick. And what was worst was that she seemed to like it. There was a smile on her face… a wistful smile! That was all he could take. Maybe he should be the better man and walk away but at the moment he was no Jimmy Stewart!
Walking through masses of people and stepping in front of her he lowered himself to her eye level.
The shadow that moved across her face brought her out of her memory and made her look up into his green eyes.
“Hey…” He said softly.
“Hi…”
“How are you?”
She nodded looking down the emptying hallway as people started to go to class. “Good… fine. I don’t… good.” She affirmed after a moment. “And you?”
He moved his jaw around trying to think it over. To be honest or nice; that was the question. “Good.” He answered finally deciding on the latter.
She looked up into his eyes and it was evident that they were both lying. “I should get to class.” She stated before shaking herself out of his intense stare and turning away.
Without giving it a second thought he reached out and grabbed her wrist. “Georgie…” He called out letting his fingers clasp around her skin. She turned back and looked at him. “I’m not doing good. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever been worst and that’s the truth. Look I am sorry for what I did. I really am and I know that I’m sounding like a broken record here but if you will just give me one more chance I promise I will make it up to you. Please… Georgie. Let’s just get out of here. Can we do that? Can we just ditch the whole school scene and go somewhere and be alone?”
Her heart was screaming yes. Everything inside her was telling her to just go for it so she was surprised when her mouth opened and she replied, “No… I can’t.”
He furrowed his brow. “Sure you can. There’s no one around. We could just walk right out of here.”
She shook her head. “No I don’t mean I can’t physically; I mean I can’t because… I have a job that I have to do after school.” She muttered her mind becoming clear.
“The new tutoring gig?” He asked.
“Who told you?” She asked not answering his question. It was one thing to lie to Mac and her sister and most of Port Charles High… but lying to Dillion that was different. That was harder.
“Maxie had the pleasure… I uh saw you with Chrs. I’m assuming that’s who it is.” When she nodded he sighed. “Yeah you two looked pretty close. Almost like friends.”
“I… wouldn’t call us friends. I mean it’s a job, Dillion. You should know how that goes.” She stated quietly. The statement was out of her mouth before she could stop it. He looked up into her eyes feeling her pain.
“Georgie that’s not…” He began but she put her hand up.
“Don’t… I didn’t mean to throw that in your face. I should get to class. I’ll see you around.” She remarked and then was gone.

Chapter Seven: Starting Something New; Losing Something Wonderful
She trudged down the steps and made her way over the icy streets to Harborview Towers. She sighed watching her warm breath hit the cold air and create misty puffs before her eyes. Rubbing her hands together she smiled slightly at the doorman that let her inside and took refuge in the warmth of the elevator. As she came to her floor she blinked once, twice and then stepped off into the penthouse floor hallway. She saw the bodyguard standing resolutely at Carly’s door and another stationed at Jason Morgan’s. She looked back forth between the two not sure where to go. Luckily for her one of them helped her out.
“Miss Jones… this way. Mrs. Corinthos is waiting for you.” He said opening the door to penthouse one.
“Thanks.” She smiled nervously entering Sonny’s penthouse for the second time that week and looking around. She barely had time to check things out when Carly came running down the steps right on her son’s heels.
“Michael… I’m going to get you!” She screamed through fits of laughter as a red mass of hair came zooming down the steps, around the corner and slamming into Georgie’s legs. His little thin arms wrapped around her legs as he buried his face into her kneecaps.
“Don’t let her get me! Save me! Save me!” He squealed into the folds of her legs through hysterical laughter.
Carly reached down and grabbed his sides tickling him until he fell to the ground convulsing with happiness. “Mommy monster got you!” She laughed over his giggles.
Georgie smiled at him as he reached out. “Help me! Help me!” He turned over and grabbed Georgie’s ankles clasping his fingers around them tightly.
Leaning down she seemed to be thinking over his request. “Help you? You want me to help you?” She asked.
He nodded. “Yeah.” He exhaled deeply looking up at her, then at his mother, who had stopped tickling him for the moment.
“Okay… I guess I’ll do the only thing I can…” She said before grinning widely and starting to tickle his sides furiously.
His laughter broke out all over again as he realized there was no escape.
Ten minutes later…
All three sat around the coffee table in the living room munching on cookies and drinking milk. “These are really good.” Georgie mumbled through bites.
“Homemade.” Carly replied
“Yeah… at Aunt Courtney’s house.” Michael chimed in grabbing another cookie off the plate before he finished his other one.
Georgie smiled as Carly shook her head. “So what do you want to do today Michael?” Georgie asked.
The little boy shrugged looking over his shoulder at his mom before turning back to Georgie. “I don’t know. What do you want to do?” He shot back.
She raised an eyebrow. “Well… we could play with some of your toys or color.” She suggested.
“That’s stuff for babies. I’m not a baby.” Turning to his mother he rolled his eyes. “I thought that you said that she was cool.”
Carly tried to hide her smile as she spoke. “She is cool. She was just testing you right?” She asked looking up at Georgie.
Georgie fumbled for words. “Right… I was just seeing how cool you were… What if you and I go and see a movie?” She asked.
“What movie?” He asked.
She was about to suggest something like ‘Elf’ or even ‘Brother Bear’ but then thought better of it. This wasn’t an everyday kid. She had to think of something a little more on the edge. “How about you and I go see, ‘The Haunted Mansion’?” She asked leaning in and watching the excitement dance inside his pupils.
He nodded. “That has ghosts and goblins right?”
“I believe so.” She replied.
“Can I mom? Can I go to the movies?” He asked jumping up and running to Carly.
She nodded running her hand across the top of his head and through his hair. “Yeah… go upstairs and get your coat and hat.” She ordered maternally as he was already bounding up the steps. She turned to Georgie and smiled. “Nice save.”
“Thank you.” She replied.
“Why don’t you go and call the theater while I make arrangements for a driver and bodyguard to take you to the movies?” She remarked so casually that Georgie just sat there for a moment not sure she heard correctly.
Carly was up and halfway to the door when she turned back to Georgie. “What?” She asked.
“Oh… uh nothing. I just… I didn’t realize so much went into just going to the movies.” She remarked.
Carly sighed and nodded. “Yeah. I guess it’s just natural to me now but for someone like you it must be weird. It’s just an extra precaution to keep my family safe.” She stated and although Georgie nodded she could see the hesitation in her eyes. “How about we do this? Forget the driver. You guys can walk to the theater it’s not that far if you want. But you take Marco with you okay?” She offered.
This time Georgie relented. “Cool.”
“Now call the theater! I want to make sure you guys can catch an early show.” She said heading toward the door as Michael came bounding down the steps with one shoe in his hand and his scarf just barely still around his neck.
Later that evening…
Georgie smiled as she brought Michael back up to the penthouse. The smile on his face was wider and brighter then the sun. “So you liked?” She asked.
He nodded. “Did you see that ghost that came out of the chimney? That was so cool!” He exclaimed imitating one of the many ghastly faces in the film.
She laughed as the double doors opened and they stepped off and ran right into Courtney. “How was the movie you guys?” She asked.
“Ask the expert over here.” She informed.
Michael beamed as he began to go over every detail that he could remember from start to finish. As they came inside Sonny and Carly were relaxed on the couch. Her legs were resting on top of her husband’s lap, her back facing the door. When she heard them come in she turned to look at them over her shoulder. “Hey! Look at the two drifters I found outside!” Courtney said as Michael rushed in and hopped onto his parents.
“Mom is was so awesome. The ghosts were real. And I want to live in a house like that. Can we?” He rushed out excitedly.
“I take it you had a good time with Georgie.” Carly said with a grin. “Did he behave?” She asked.
“He was the perfect date. He even held my popcorn for me.” She remarked with a gleam in her eye watching him blush.
“Daddy taught you well.” Carly replied looking at Sonny.
“So are you ready for dinner?” He asked.
“Yeah!” He remarked.
Sonny smiled, taking a stand. “Do you want to stay?” He asked Georgie.
“I would… but I need to get home. It’s getting late.” She said.
He nodded. “I’ll have Marco drive you.” He stated resolutely.
“You know it’s not that far. I could walk.”
“It’s late. You shouldn’t be out there by yourself.”
Georgie panicked. There was no way that she would be able to explain to Mac when a limousine drove up and dropped her off. He may have bought the story about Chris Camron but that was pushing it. Her eyes darted from Sonny’s to Carly’s and then down to her feet.
“You know what? How about we have Marco drive you to the corner of your house, okay?” Carly chimed in.
Georgie relaxed. “Thanks.” She replied.
“Okay. Then it’s settled. I’m going to start dinner.”
“Will I see you tomorrow?” Michael asked.
“Sure will.” Bending down she ruffled his hair and then was escorted out.
Ten Minutes later…
Pulling up to the curb she got out and thanked the bodyguard before going inside. Going straight to her room she pulled off her coat and threw it onto her bed ignoring when it missed the target and landed on the floor instead. Yawning deeply she was about to collapse onto the bed when she heard the knock at her door. Before she could utter a word, Maxie barged inside. “What’s the point in knocking if you’re not even going to wait for my response?” Georgie questioned.
“Whatever! So how did it go?”
“What?”
“The tutoring session! How was your first tutoring session?” Maxie asked perching her body onto the bed.
Georgie rolled her eyes. “It was a tutoring session. Nothing special, we met in the library; we studied; and then we went home. That’s it.”
“That’s it? There were no longing stares across the table? No awkward romantic pauses between academic subjects?” She prodded.
“No… sorry to disappoint you Maxie. It was just me doing my job, that’s all.”
“Well, if that’s all then why is it that Chris has called three times since you left the library?” She asked.
“He what?” She asked bewildered.
“You heard me. I don’t know… maybe he was studying more then just the set criteria.” She smirked throwing down a small piece of paper. “There’s his number. He said call him when you get in.”
As if on cue the phone rang. Sister’s eyes locked before they both ran for the phone. Georgie got there first grabbing it right out of Maxie’s hands and answering it. “Hello, Jones’ residence.”
“Hey… this is Chris. Can I speak to Georgie please?” He asked.
“This is her.” She said awkwardly as Maxie leaned over trying to hear the conversation.
“Hey… you’re a hard person to catch up with.” She could practically see his smile over the phone.
“Yeah… it took me longer to walk home then I thought. It must be the cold weather… would you get out!” She yelled.
“What?” He asked on the other end.
“Not you! Give me a second.” She said into the phone before looking at her sister. “I got the phone message thanks. Now would you please leave?” She ordered.
“I want full details after you’re done.” The older girl said before walking out barely escaping being hit as Georgie slammed the door on her heels.
“Okay…” She said back into the phone. “Now where were we?”
“You were telling me that the weather delayed your way home.”
“Yeah… how did you get my number?” She asked bluntly.
“I’m a jock… a popular jock. Need I say more?” He asked.
She nodded. “Got it. So what can I do for you?” She asked.
He sighed. “Nothing.”
She furrowed her brow. “Nothing? You called me for nothing? That’s weird.”
“Not really. Why wouldn’t I call my tutor if I have questions about an assignment? You see it would be weird if I didn’t call you, don’t you think?” He shot back.
“Got it. Thanks.” She replied.
“No problem. So… everything working out okay?” He asked absently.
“Yeah, I think it is.” She said walking over and taking a seat on her bed.
“You know it is kind of strange. I mean I’m letting you use me as an alibi for your parents and your sister and most of our entire high school and I don’t even know what you’re doing.”
She remained silent for a moment. “Do you want to know what I’m doing?”
“No.” He answered simply.
“You don’t? I could be involved in something highly illegal and dangerous. Being around me could get you implicated in something that could scar your life forever.”
“Hey Georgie?”
“Yeah?”
“Who is Emile Durkheim?” He asked absently.
“He was the French Sociologist that came up with Anomie theory, wasn’t he?” She asked bewildered by his question.
“Yeah, see people who know social scientists in the study of criminology aren’t usually apt to break the law.” He replied with a small chuckle.
She smiled unable to help herself. Lying back on the bed she shook her head. “Point taken.” She replied.
“Besides… I trust that if someone like you would make up a blatant lie in order to keep something secret, it must be pretty important.”
“What do you mean someone like me?”
He sighed. “Oh no… I’ve treaded on dangerous ground.” He muttered. “I just meant that you seem like the honest type.”
“Compared to what, my peers?” She asked.
“In a word, yes. You seem a little more together then most of the girls at our school. You know I think most of them spend half their time looking at themselves and the other half at the mall trying to decide ways to make themselves look better. When I see you, you don’t have lipstick or some other cosmetic in your hand. Usually it’s a book.” He replied.
She rolled her eyes. “Because that’s who I am. I’m Georgie the bookworm. I’m the boring one that no one notices except to say, ‘hey there’s that girl, you know what’s her name, the one that reads a lot’.” She bit out sarcastically.
“And somehow that’s a bad thing?” He asked.
“Well, let’s just say I never hear anyone describe me like, ‘hey who’s the girl with the cute body?” She mimicked some stereotypical male.
He laughed. “That’s funny.”
“You would think so.”
“Listen do you really want to be like all those other girls at the school? The ones that are a dime a dozen, because that’s what they are.”
She exhaled deeply… “ I don’t know…” She began when she heard the knocking at her window. Looking up she saw Dillion perched on a branch outside. She hesitated for a moment not sure of what to do. Finally she got up. “What… what are you doing out there?” She asked to the closed windowpane.
“Georgie? Are you still there?” Chris asked.
“Hold on a sec.” She said distractedly opening the window letting in a cold gust of air. “Are you crazy? It must be twenty below out there!” She stated watching him shiver from the night air.
“I’m only crazy for you.” He mumbled through chattering teeth. “Although it would be nice to come inside and warm up.” He asked softly.
She shook her head but stepped back to let him in. He came over the threshold rubbing his arms through his sweatshirt. “What’s going on?” He asked.
She furrowed her brow. “What are you doing out there?”
“You weren’t answering my calls and you avoid me at school. I missed you. I wanted to see you.” He managed.
There was a moment of silence that passed between them and it was as if they were the only ones that existed. “Georgie! Georgie are you there?” She heard the voice and it snapped her back to the present.
Lifting the receiver to her ear she sighed. “Yeah… still here.” She managed weakly breaking away from Dillion’s stare.
“Are you okay?” He asked concerned.
“Yeah… let me know if you have any more trouble with those scientific equations.” She said.
He sighed. “Call me if you need to.” He replied realizing that someone else was there.
“I will.” She stated really meaning it and then hung up.
Dillion watched her trying to ignore the obvious phone call that was from Chris. He had to keep telling himself that she was too smart to fall for someone like Chris. At least that’s what he wanted to believe. He shuddered as a chill ran through his body.
Georgie snapped into action going to her bed and pulling the comforter from it and wrapping it around his shoulders absently. She let her hands run up and down his arms vigorously trying to permit heat into his body. “Is that better?” She asked.
He nodded enjoying her touch as well as her closeness. “Much.” His voice came out husky and deep.
She looked up at him and held the stare. Her mouth slightly parted as she exhaled a short breath. The air was charged between them. It was so odd. It was almost as if now that he was no longer an option, it made it that much harder to resist. But she had willpower. She had enough sense to know when enough was enough. “You could have caught pneumonia out there.” She remarked taking a step away from him needing the space.
He kept his eyes on her. “I’m a trooper, or haven’t you figured that out by now?” He asked with a smirk.
“Really?”
“Oh yeah! I’m a natural survivor. I put Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn to shame! If Mark Twain had known me the title would have been the adventures of Dillion Sawyer… or Hornsby whatever.” He stated absently.
She raised an eyebrow. “What about Quartermaine?”
‘”Nah… that’s too rich. You need something down to earth… something more…” He searched for the right word.”
“Common?” She threw at him.
He only smiled. “Don’t try and make me out to be a snob. It’s not in my nature.”
“According to your surname it is.” She replied smiling unable to help herself.
He relaxed a little seeing her smile. It had been so long since she had graced him with one that it almost broke his heart. Something that he had taken for granted it seemed now haunted and taunted him. “God I missed that.”
“What?” She asked.
Walking over to her he stopped a few inches away. Reaching up he let his fingers just barely graze her cheek. “This… your smile.” He whispered.
She cleared her throat and stepped away. “I have something for you.” Turning away she went to her dresser and retrieved a piece of computer paper. Handing it to him she waited.
“What is this?” He asked as he opened it. Letting his eyes scan over the words he read it once, twice… and midway through the third he stopped and looked up at her. “Is this… I mean is this for real?”
She nodded. “Yeah.” She replied.
“But this is… this says I can stay in Port Charles… how did you get my mother to agree to this?”
“Oh well you know nothing much. A little talking here, cajoling there… throw in a little blackmail for substance and there you have it.” She stated evasively.
His smile only grew wider. “You blackmailed my mother?”
“Yeah and you should have seen her face. It was priceless. I mean there she was wanting something that only I had.”
“Wait a minute, you got the cards.”
She nodded. “I did.”
“How? I thought that Sam had them.”
“She did. But she gave them to me… something about Mr. Jax and the passing of his father. I mean they really weren’t any good to her anymore and so she gave them to me a few days ago. So I started to think about what to do with them… and I figured that the only way I was going to get what I wanted was to play the game that your mother was playing. And although I’m not big on blackmail and playing dirty, I knew that the Quartermaines were the masters. So I did what I always do. I went and looked stuff up and drew up my own legal contract and then I had Tracey meet me downtown and had her sign the paper in front of a notary. This way it makes it legally binding. You are free to stay.” She remarked with a smile.
Looking down at the paper in somewhat of a daze he exhaled before reaching out, throwing the blanket off of his shoulders and grabbing her into a fierce hug. Swinging her around he couldn’t help from holding her close. “We did it! We really did it!” He remarked in her ear as he slowed down and her feet touched the ground again. Holding her by the arms gently he looked into her eyes. “Do you realize what this means?” He asked excitedly trying to be quiet in order not to alert Mac.
She nodded. “Yeah… it means you get to stay. You know you don’t have to worry about your mom shipping you off to military school. And this gives you time to figure out what you’re going to do.” She replied weakly.
He stared at her. “This gives us time Georgie. This is what we wanted… right?” He asked softly.
“Yeah… it was.” She emphasized the past tense. “I mean I’m really happy for you.”
“But… this doesn’t change anything between us… because if it did then you would have given this to me sooner.”
“I tried… I came to your house that night but…” She trailed off. There was no need to go any further. They both were aware of what happened that night.
He sighed. “How many times do I have to tell you that it didn’t mean anything. It was a mistake.”
“You should go.” She replied.
“Georgie please…”
“Mac could walk up here any minute and I don’t want to get into anymore trouble right now.” She went on not willing to hear him out. The pain was still too fresh. The images were still too clear.
“Just listen to what I’m saying…” He tried again this time reaching out to touch her.
She stepped back, folding her arms across her chest. “Don’t… just don’t.” She whispered.
He relented, staying where he was but not taking his eyes off of her. “Fine… Just tell me what I need to do to make this better between us.” He replied.
She shook her head. “You don’t have to do anything Dillon. I just want you to be happy.”
“No… because if that were true then you would be with me. You make me happy.”
His words sounded so sincere and she wanted to believe him. But her head just couldn’t understand how things got where they were. “You need to leave.” She stated.
“This isn’t over. We’re not over. And the sooner you realize that, the better. Because I’m not going anywhere.” He replied staring at her letting her know that he meant what he said. “We’re going to get through this. All great love stories have rocky roads. That’s what makes them great.” He remarked before leaving.
She simply stood there in the center of her room wondering if he were right.

Chapter Eight Part One: Straight out of Left Field…
Walking into Kelly’s she ordered a dozen chocolate chip cookies for her and Michael. They had an all afternoon day planned of watching ‘The Lord of the Rings’ parts one and two. They wanted to be fully prepared for ‘Return of the King’ when it came out next Wednesday. Grabbing a seat at a nearby table she waited patiently until she heard her phone ring. “Hello? Hey Carly… Yeah? Yeah that’s cool. No we can just do it tomorrow… no it’s not a big deal. Okay… Talk to you later.” She remarked hanging up.
“Hey Georgie… your cookies are ready.” Penny stated gently pushing the cookies toward her.
She smiled without heart as she paid for them and then left. Looking down inside the bag she furrowed her brow.
“Hey what’s got you so down?” Chris asked walking up to her.
She sighed. “Nothing. I just have a dozen chocolate chip cookies and a whole afternoon to do nothing.”
“You know if you were a guy in this same situation your attitude would be completely different.” He stated with a small smile.
“Do you want these cookies?” She asked thrusting the bag towards him.
He rolled his eyes as he took the bag and peeked inside before looking back up at her. “So uh Georgie… do you have any plans this afternoon? Because I just got a dozen chocolate chip cookies and no one to share them with.”
She stared at him trying to hold back a laugh. “Cute… that’s real cute.”
“You see what I did there? Becomes a great pick-up line… no girl would ever think of that. How do you think I got my girlfriend?” He remarked with a good-natured smile. “So what do you say?”
Shrugging she relented. “Sure… not like I have anything else to do…”
“Thanks.” He replied sarcastically. Throwing his arm around her shoulders he knocked his head into hers playfully leading her away.
Fifteen minutes later…
They were sitting on a bench at the docks with a half-eaten bag of cookies and two cups of hot chocolate sitting between them.
“Emily Dickinson.”
“Lord Byron.” He shot back.
“Shakespeare.”
“Poe!” He stated.
“Poe? What do you mean Poe?” She asked.
“Edgar Allen Poe… I’m sure a smart girl like you has heard of him.”
“Smart-ass. Yes, I’ve heard of him. But how can you count him as one of the great romantic authors?” She asked. “This is the same man that wrote, ‘The Red Death’ and ‘The Tale Tale Heart’ doesn’t exactly spark a romantic air, Chris.”
“He also wrote ‘The Raven.”
“And? That’s about a guy thinking he’s hearing this dead woman calling from the grave.”
“Not just any woman… a woman that he loved. A woman that had such a hold on him that he believed that she was still there waiting for him… calling for him… loving him. That’s something extremely powerful. That kind of feeling doesn’t come around everyday.” He stated.
She nodded. “I don’t know… it just seems kind of twisted.”
“And love isn’t twisted?” He challenged.
She opened her mouth about to reply but then had to think about it. “It doesn’t have to be.” She remarked quietly.
“No? All the great couples have twisted love stories, just think about it. ‘Gone with the Wind’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘The Great Gatsby’.” He listed off.
She shook her head. “That’s not true. There are some stories that have just great, cute couples.”
“Like who?” He asked.
Once again she tried to speak but her brain eluded her. She sighed. “Well…”
“Exactly. You see it’s the couples that have the angst and have to overcome the unstoppable odds that hold your attention. They’re the ones you remember.”
She remained silent for moment. “Why do you think that is?” She asked.
“Perhaps it’s…” he never got the chance to answer as they heard footsteps.
“Well if it isn’t the brain now? What are the odds?” Sage asked snidely walking up with Dillon right at her side. “I see you didn’t waste anytime, Georgie. I do have to admit though, I thought that you were really hung up on our Dillon here.”
“Do you even attempt to think before you speak?” Georgie asked, rolling her eyes before glancing at Dillon. “Hey.” She stated.
“Hey.” His stare was intense almost piercing into her soul. She broke away first looking down at her feet. He turned his eyes onto the boy beside her. “Chris, right?” It was more of a statement then a question.
The redheaded boy nodded. “Yeah… we haven’t met. Chris Camron.” He said offering his hand.
Dillon nodded. “Dillon Quartermaine.” The shake was brief and tense.
Sage looked between the two before offering her hand as well. “And I’m Sage Alcazar.” Her smile was suggestive and so was her tone. Chris simply chuckled as he shook her hand. “So what are you two lovebirds doing out here on this crisp winter afternoon?” She asked.
“Not that it’s any of your business, but we were studying. I’m Chris’ tutor.” Georgie snapped folding her arms across her chest. She wanted to unaffected by the sight of them together but she wasn’t… her heart wasn’t.
“Really? And what subject would that be?”
“Science…”
“Math…”
They both spoke up at the same time. Georgie froze but Chris recovered quickly. “Mathematical Science… you know scientific equations using math as a common deciphering tool.”
“Sounds like pretty complicated stuff.”
“It is.”
“Then where are your books?” Dillon asked, speaking up for almost the first time.
This time they both hesitated just a moment too long. “I guess you caught us… we were taking a break.” Chris tried to cover with a forced laugh looking over at Georgie.
“Oh please! Why don’t you just call it what it is? You two are out on a date. Just admit it!” Sage shot back.
“And so what if we are? It’s none of your business.” Chris retorted tired of her attitude.
“It is my business!” Dillon shot back.
“Just let it go…” Georgie began not wanting to cause a scene.
“Yeah? Why is that?” Chris asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Because I’m not going to let you take advantage of Georgie okay?”
“Take advantage of her?” Chris scoffed.
“Yeah! I’ve seen it a thousand times. Big, popular sports guy takes pity on the heartbroken intellectual and tries to show her all of her fantastic qualities while desperately trying to move in on her. Well it’s not going to happen. Georgie is way too smart to fall for a narrow-minded, pea-brained jock!”
“That’s saying a lot since she fell for you!” He remarked. “You are the EX-boyfriend right?”
Without warning Dillon reached back and took a swing at Chris but the athlete was no stranger to public brawls and ducked coming back with a punch in Dillon’s jaw. It was quick and fast and Dillon was on the ground before he could blink.
Reaching out Georgie grabbed Chris by the arm as he stood over her ex-boyfriend who was being soothed by Sage. “Just stop it! Both of you just let it go!” Tugging on Chris’ arm she pulled him away from Dillon who was wiping the trickle of blood from his cut lip.
“Jeez…” Dillon muttered looking up at the boy who had just knocked him off of his feet. Propping himself up on his elbows he blinked once… twice trying to get his head together. He had to stop running into physical confrontations when Georgie was concerned… his lip and his eye couldn’t take it.
“What the hell is your problem?” Sage shouted at Chris from her position on the ground.
“He swung at me first!” He defended. Looking over at Georgie he waited. “He came at me first.” He reiterated.
She remained silent as she looked down at Dillon who was staring back at her.
“Let’s just go.” She stated quietly.
He watched her turn away. He opened his mouth to call out to her but the words weren’t there.
About an hour later…
He stood in his bedroom brooding and sulking as he tenderly touched his bruised lip. He couldn’t believe that she just walked away. He was on the ground after being sucker punched by the jerk… okay so it wasn’t exactly a sucker punch unless you wanted to call him the sucker. But the point was that she had never turned away from him when he was hurt. When he had been double-teamed on the Fourth of July by Kyle and Zack, she had checked his face like it was the most natural thing in the world. And when he had been knocked out on the docks she had found him and took him to the hospital. It was just something that always happened between them… until now.
He shook his head. The thought that they really might be over just couldn’t compute inside him. It wasn’t something that he could accept. But what if he really did have to let her go? What if they were really over… what if…?
The tapping at his window caught his attention and without hesitation he was over and opening the window and letting her inside. He stared at her for a moment as she looked up at him with questionable eyes. And suddenly he felt angry. Walking over to his desk he sighed. “What are you doing here?” He asked gruffly.
She sighed bowing her head. “I wanted to make sure that you were okay.”
He laughed sarcastically “Oh really? You thought you would come and check up on the poor guy who got his lip busted? Why isn’t that noble of you? Where is our town football hero?”
She rolled her eyes. “I left him at Kelly’s. Where’s Sage?” She shot back.
“I sent her home… Did Chris not want your help?”
She furrowed her brow at his indignant attitude. “You know I didn’t have to come over here, Dillon!”
“Then why did you?” He asked frustrated.
“Because I just wanted to be sure that you were all right! But as I can see you’re perfectly, stubbornly fine!” She began to leave when his voice stopped her.
“You know you can’t just keep doing that!”
“Doing what?” She asked hotly looking back at him.
“Just show up here… and try to take care of me.”
“Well you can’t just go around beating up guys that I hang out with!”
“Well you just can’t…. Can’t… hang out with any guy!” He grasped at anything trying to get in the last word.
They stood across from one another for a few silent moments before they both broke out in quiet smiles. Finally she spoke and her voice was soft. “Do you want me to look at that?”
He nodded as he handed her the first aid kit and took a seat on the edge of his desk. Moving across the room she took control of the situation and began cleaning him up. Her hands moved over his face like an expert. Her touches were light and delicate.
And for moments nothing could be heard but their silent breathing. Finally once she was done she looked up into his eyes. “That was really stupid what you did.”
“There was a time when you would have called it brave.” He stated softly never breaking eye contact with her.
Reaching up she let her fingertips trail over his cheek as she looked over his facial features. Before she could stop herself, before she had time to think about what she was doing… she leaned in and placed her lips on his cheek. The kiss was soft and sweet.
As she pulled back he moved his head and pushed his lips to hers, wincing slightly at the pain. She responded without hesitation letting herself fall into his kiss. Reaching out he grabbed her cheeks within his palms and pulled her into him. Opening his mouth he brushed his tongue over her flesh waiting for her to let him in. And as she sighed he delved into her mouth and tasted the flavor that was all Georgie. He felt as she grabbed at his sides holding the material of his shirt within her hands and breathing into him. Shifting his head to get a better angle he let one arm circle around her body palming the small of her back as the other hand went to the hem of her button down sweater. His fingers traveled beneath the burgundy wool and grazed her smooth stomach and felt her shudder. Getting bolder he palmed her hip and let his hand make its way up her side and felt the strap of her bra.
She only pressed her body closer to him wanting nothing more then to feel him. Breaking the kiss she arched her back as he lips went to the crook of her neck. Her hands moved on their own as they tugged at his sweater desperately trying to remove it. Within moments the material was off of him and thrown across the room without a second thought.
Breathing heavy, hearts pounding inside their chests, they grasped at one another wanting to achieve something that had eluded them for the past few months. Traveling back up to her lips he looked into her eyes as he let his forehead come to rest against hers. “What… are we doing?”
She didn’t say a word only took his hand and led it to the sensitive mold that was her breast. Her eyes locked with his and she watched him swallow hard at what she was suggesting. “Are you sure?” He asked, waiting with baited breath for her answer.
Leaning in she kissed his forehead and then his nose finally coming to his lips. “Don’t stop.” She whispered against them…

Chapter Eight Part Two: Giving in.
Leaning into her he kissed her again this time slowly, barely touching before pulling back. Reaching up he brushed a few strands of her hair out of her face. Coming closer he let his lips brush against her ear before whispering. “Do you have any idea what you do to me?”
She shivered at the sound of his voice resonating in her ears. She only nodded as she rubbed her cheek against his. Reaching down he clasped her hand inside his and stood up from the desk. Without words he led her to the door making sure it was locked. And then traveled over to the stereo and with a quick press of a button, music filtered throughout the room. Looking over his shoulder at her their eyes locked and he tightened his hand around hers.
'You need a Friend I’ll be around Don’t let this end Before I see you Again'
Turning so that they were face to face he pulled her to him cupping her cheek he pressed his lips to hers feeling her open up beneath him. Taking the invitation graciously he slipped his tongue through her parted lips and into her mouth. And soon he was lost inside her.
'What can I say To convince you to change your mind Of Me'
Her head was dizzy with his kisses and the way he seemed to take control of her. It was the best and the most scary feeling in the world. To know that he could posses her this way, consume everything inside her leaving room for nothing and no one else terrified her. And if he ever knew… God help her if he ever realized how much power he had over her…
'I’m going to love you more than anyone I’m going to hold you closer than before'
He backed her up slowly until they were at his bed. He didn’t want to push or make the wrong move so he let her take the next step never breaking their kiss.
She wrapped her arms around his waist feeling the back of her legs come in contact with his bed. Tugging gently on him she let herself tumble back into the folds of his comforter with him right there with her. Her legs parted to allow him to land smoothly between them.
'And when I kiss your soul, your body’ll be free I’ll be free for you anytime I’m going to love you more than anyone'
He felt her hands as they ran up his bare back, her nails grazing his flesh. He sucked in a sharp breath as he felt her mouth on his shoulder and pulled back slightly to look into her eyes. There was so much heat and desire in them that it almost knocked him over. “God Georgie… I love you.” He whispered softly.
'Look in my eyes what do you see? Not just the color Look inside of me'
She looked up at him with soulful brown eyes. She felt the words get stuck inside her throat. It wasn’t that she didn’t feel it… she did. But feeling was relative at the moment because she felt a lot of things. But she couldn’t say the words. So instead she lifted her head and crashed her lips to his.
'Tell me all you need and I will try I will try'
He responded letting his hands travel over her body without inhibition. She was really there with him… holding him, kissing him, loving him. It was unreal. He felt his heart constrict with a joyful agony never knowing this kind of happiness before. She held his entire heart in her hand and if she ever realized what she could do to him… God help him if she ever knew…
'I’m going to love you more than anyone I’m going to hold you closer than before'
Her fingers went to the button on his jeans as he gently removed her sweater. His bare skin brushed against hers making him groan into her mouth. Reaching for one of the straps on her bra he tugged it off of her shoulder and watched it fall to her arm revealing just a glimpse of her body.
'And when I kiss your soul your body’ll be free'
Their movements were slow and languid as they undressed until nothing remained between them but air. Hovering above her his eyes staring into hers. “I really do love you.” Tears burned the backs of his eyes afraid that this was nothing more then a dream.
She stared into dark emerald green pupils and felt her heart accelerate. She was happy. In this moment, right here, with him, she really was happy. “I know.” She whispered softly.
'I’ll be free for you anytime'
And as he leaned in to kiss her, he felt as her legs parted and they took the next step together…
'I’m going to love you more than anyone…'

Chapter Nine: The Outside Voice of Reason…
He had many dreams of what this night would be like. He had all kinds of fantasies in exotic places. Sometimes in the middle of the night, other times just at the breaking of day. But nothing could have been better then tonight. The way she clung to him, kissed him, told him how much she loved him…
But she didn’t. She hadn’t said how much she loved him. In fact that word had never left her lips…
The thought woke him up with a sudden jolt and out of instinct he reached out for her. But she wasn’t there. And for just a moment he thought that it had all been a dream. A fantastical, surrealistic dream, but one look at his nude body and the faint smell of her body wash and he knew that she had definitely been there. Looking around his darkened room he shivered slightly from the cold outside… “Georgie…” He whispered not really expecting an answer.
Looking over to his window he noticed the blinds moving back and forth from the winds outside. She must have left the window open.
Reaching down for the closest piece of clothing he found his boxers on the floor near his bed. Slipping into them he wrapped the comforter around his body and made his way over to the opened window. Pushing the blinds aside he peered out into the snowy night half expecting to see her making her way over the grounds in a silent getaway. He knew that it made sense for her to leave. They couldn’t run the risk of her being caught a second time in his bed. But she could have woken him up and said good-bye or something. And that thought nagged at him. For some reason instead of trying to get away from being caught by his family, it seemed as if she was trying to get away from him.
A few hours earlier…
She waited until he drifted off to sleep before turning around to face him. His eyes closed and his breathing deep, he was so at ease. Her hand reached out to touch his cheek but then stopped. Isn’t that what got her in this position in the first place? One wrong move… one little kiss… and now she was no longer innocent Georgie Jones. She had envisioned her first time… it was always with him… somewhere faraway … but never like this. Not in the midst of a pending break-up. Taking careful precaution, she eased out of his arms and tracked across the room retrieving her clothes from the floor. Slipping into them quickly she retreated out the window stopping only to take a backward glance at the guy lying asleep.
Making her way down the tree she had come up only hours earlier she tracked across the snowy ground and off the Quartermaine Estate. She had no idea where she was going to go. But her feet just kept walking and her mind kept racing. Images of what she had just done continued to flash through her head. The way he had touched her, said her name… a red blush crept into her cheeks despite the wintry wind that swept over and through her.
So deep in thought she hadn’t realized where she had gone until she stopped in front of the bodyguard on the top floor of Harborview Towers. She just stood there. Her lips were chapped and tinged a shade of very light blue and her eyes were wide filled with turbulent emotion but her voice remained silenced.
Without a second thought Marco turned to the door giving it a few hard wraps until he heard the distinct footsteps of his boss come down the stairs. They saw the light come on from beneath a peak in the door and heard Sonny’s voice.
“Marco what the hell is going on? Michael’s asleep and…” He trailed off as he opened the door with a forceful tug and spotted Georgie staring at him. Her hair wind-whipped and her jacket only half-buttoned. She looked a wreck. “Hey… hey what happened?”
The tone of his voice and the way he reached out to touch her shoulder was the last resolve. As the full impact of what she had done took hold of her body and without warning she heard a sob escape her lips as tears broke free from her eyelids and she reached out and clung to his silk pajama top. “I… I… did… I’m so… stupid.” Her sentences were broken and jumbled making it impossible for him to understand what she was referring to. Coaxing her inside he sat her down in an armchair and kneeled before her.
“Hey… it’s okay. Whatever it is… whatever has happened, it’s okay. We’ll fix it. I’ll fix it.” He whispered soothingly brushing the damp tendrils from her cheeks where they had met her tears.
Her breathing was heavy with crying and she couldn’t find the words to speak so all she did was shake her head negatively.
“Did somebody hurt you?” He asked.
Once again she shook her head trying to slow down her breaths to a normal pace.
“Did somebody threaten you?” He questioned in that fatherly tone that came so easy to him.
Taking a deep breath she whispered a response. “No.” A hiccup automatically followed this.
He gave her a moment longer to compose herself seeing that she seemed to be doing a little better since she walked through the door. Finally he reached out placing his finger under her chin so that she would look up at him. “Then what is it? I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s wrong.” He remarked.
Staring at him she opened her mouth and the words got stuck. She couldn’t even say it. She couldn’t even talk about it. The one thing in her life that she had wanted to enjoy and share with the guy that she loved had somehow become the most shameful act she had ever experienced and once again the tears filled her eyes. “I… can’t… not now.” She managed beginning to shake with sobs.
He nodded quickly. “Okay… all right. How about I make you some tea okay? We don’t have to talk right now. We can just sit here.” He waited to make sure that she was okay before taking a stand but stopped halfway to the kitchen. “Does Mac know you’re here?”
“No… he’s pulling the midnight shift at the PCPD.”
He nodded. That’s one less thing to worry about.
“Sonny what’s going on? I heard voices down…” Carly came charging down the steps tying the black sating robe around her waist securely, expecting to find half the PCPD there with a warrant for his arrest. It wouldn’t be the first time. Stopping on the last step when she saw Georgie she raised an eyebrow, concern in her brown eyes. Something in her told her that this was a delicate situation. “Hey… what’s wrong?”
Georgie only stared back at her with silent repose shifted her eyes to Sonny and then back to Carly’s. What was she doing here? Why had she come to these people who she barely knew? When had they become confidants of hers? She was Georgie Jones, the police Commissioner’s daughter not a buddy of the mob. But then again she didn’t have any buddies. She had a sister, who she didn’t get a long with, a mother who was states away physically, and much further emotionally and a father who was too busy trying to police the town then acting like a parental figure. In truth this was the only thing she had resembling friends and at the moment that’s what she needed. She ran her fingers through her hair and watched Carly walk over to her taking a seat at the end of the coffee table so she was facing her. “I… didn’t have anywhere else to go.”
The words hit Carly like a ton of bricks reminding her of a time that seemed like forever ago. A very desperate time when she had felt backed into a corner. Looking down at Georgie she gave her a small smile. “It’s okay. You can always come here…” She whispered.
She could hear the sincerity in her voice and it eased her tension just a little making her look down at the penthouse wooden floors. Her breathing was back to normal as was her heartbeat but her eyes were still wet with tears and when she spoke it was almost too soft to be heard. “I… slept with Dillon.”
Carly remained silent not knowing if this was her time to speak or not. She didn’t want to push.
“I… slept… with Dillon.” She said again and this time her voice was a little more firm, a little more definite as if she were trying to convince herself. “I love him… I wanted to be with him… and it was the biggest mistake of my life.” Her head was pounding all of a sudden and images became jumbled inside her head. “Why? Why would I do something like that? I don’t do things like that. I’m Georgie Jones. I’m the one that thinks about the consequences. I don’t make rash decisions! I’m not the kind of girl to just jump into bed with some guy just because the moment is there. I mean… we’re not even together! I’m not even… his girlfriend. What the hell was I thinking?” All of a sudden she was in panic mode. Nothing was okay. This was a desperate situation!
Reaching out Carly took her hands and held them firmly within her own. “Hey… hey listen to me. Calm down. Just stop and settle down and hear me out.” She waited until Georgie looked up at her. “You were thinking with your heart. Does he love you?” She asked.
Georgie nodded. “Yes.”
“And you love him. And you know what? That’s more then most people get their first time. I know that’s not exactly the most romantic, beautiful thing you’ve heard but Georgie, this is what I meant by reality. This was your moment Georgie, yours and Dillon’s. And no one can take that away from you. And if you were happy for just a second while you were with him can you honestly tell me that doesn’t make it worth it?”
