Prologue Elizabeth looked up when she heard the bell above Kelly’s door sound. She groaned inwardly when she saw who it was.
“Great…just what I need,” she thought as the blonde walked up to the counter.
“We need to talk,” she said.
“No we don’t,” Liz said. “I don’t want or need to talk to you. All that comes out of your mouth is crap,”
“It’s important,” the blonde insisted.
She watched as Elizabeth tried to hold back a smile. “Something funny?” she asked testily.
“Nothing about you is important, nothing you ever say is” Liz smirked.
"I can't believe people actually think you're nice," the blonde said.
“I’m not going anywhere so deal with it. I just need to talk to you and I’ll stay here all day if I have to. You don’t have to talk to me but you sure as hell will listen!” she spat out.
"Fine! You can sit there all day for all I care. But unlike YOU I have to work. You’ve heard of work right? It’s what people do in the real world. I’m sure you’ve heard Jason mention it,” Liz snapped back.
She turned her back to the most annoying person she’d ever met. She took a deep breath to calm herself then picked up the burger and fries the cook had placed under the heating light. Smiling Liz walked to table five and placed the food on the table. “Let me know if you need anything else all right,” she said with a smile.
"You know you can be a real bitch sometimes,” she heard as she walked around the counter.
Elizabeth gritted her teeth and turned to the blonde. “You’re one all the time, I'm sure it isn't hard for you to spot one,”
“Look I didn’t come to fight I just…”
“Could've fooled me. You just what? Decided to wow me with your winning personality?” Liz asked. “If you can call what she has a personality?” she thought dryly.
“Ugh! Fine. Spit it out already!” she exclaimed.
“I need your help,” the blonde said in a low voice.
Liz rolled her eyes and groaned. “With what?” she asked not really caring.
“With Jason.”

Chapter 1 Elizabeth closed her eyes briefly trying to collect herself. She opened them and saw that she was still there. “Is this some kind of sick joke?” she asked angrily. She could believe what she’d heard. Here she was trying to get over Jason, ”And not doing a very good job at it,” she thought trying to move on and forget him and now that she had what she’d thought was control in her life this happened.
“No. I’m being very serious,” the young blonde replied. “He’s not happy Elizabeth. I see it in his eyes…I-I just want him to be happy. Help me make him happy,”
Liz shook her head in disbelief. “You want me to help you make him happy!” she exclaimed angrily. “I can’t believe you,” she whispered. “After everything that’s happened! You want me to forget what you’ve said to me? Huh…is that what you want?” she stated. She shook her head and threw up her hands and backed away. “No way! Forget it. He made his choice…now he has to live with it,”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason looked through the windows into Kelly’s with an expression of shocked disbelief. Judging by the expression on her face he was surprised Elizabeth hadn’t slapped her. ”She wouldn’t unless she had a reason to, if she were pushed to far” he thought. He sighed and backed away from the windows. He knew that she didn’t want to see him; that every time she did she hurt. He couldn’t help himself though. He wanted no he needed to see her. Which is why he’d been watching her from outside of the diner. After a hard day he’d come to Kelly’s and watch her for a minute or so. Her smile always seemed to make everything better even if those smiles were meant for someone else, they always comforted him.
He’d realized as soon as she walked out that night, the severity of his mistake. He’d let her leave. As soon as the door closed behind her he knew that he’d never be the same again. He’d let the only person he loved with his entire heart walk away. ”I should have gone after her,” he thought with remorse. But he hadn’t…and she’d moved on. He hated seeing her with Ric and wanted to punch the smug look off the lawyers face everytime he saw him. He wanted to tell Elizabeth that he didn’t trust the jackass she called a friend but knew he didn’t have the right. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration leaving spiky strands everywhere. “Standing out here isn’t going to fix your problems,” he heard. Suppressing a groan he turned. “What do you want Brenda?”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“You don’t mean that,”
“Actually yeah I do,” Elizabeth said faking a bright smile. “You see,” she said leaning against the counter “Jason chose to let me walk out of his life. He didn’t even try fighting for me, for us. Instead he chose to continue living the life Sonny wants him to,” she said bitterly.
“I don’t want him to live that life anymore, he deserves to be with who he wants, with the person he loves, and he loves you,”
She smiled inwardly at the surprised expression on the brunettes face. She saw her bite her lip nervously. ”I’m wearing her down,” she thought with glee. She let her mind wonder to Jason and glanced at her watch knowing that he was outside. “Brenda better make sure he doesn’t come in here. Not before I convince Elizabeth to help,” she thought.
“Why are you doing this?” Liz asked quietly.
Startled out of her thoughts she thought for a moment knowing her reply would make all the difference. She looked into Elizabeth’s eyes and smiled.
“Because I finally pulled the stick out of my ass and realized that my best friend is in love with you,” Carly replied.

Chapter 2 “Because I finally pulled the stick out of my ass and realized that my best friend is in love with you,” Carly replied.
Elizabeth was about to reply but closed her mouth abruptly. Carly watched the brunettes’ eyes narrow, the light fade from her eyes. “You almost had me convinced,” Elizabeth said as she untied her apron. Carly looked over her shoulder and saw that Courtney had joined Jason and Brenda. “I’m sure you’ll have a great story to tell her. How you almost got me to make a fool of myself,” Liz spat out, then disappeared into the kitchen.
“Damn!” Carly muttered and banged her fist against the counter. “I was so close,”
“Close to what?” she heard. She looked over her shoulder and saw Ric. “None of your damn business,” she muttered and stalked out of Kelly’s.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“What do you want Brenda?” he asked again.
“What? A woman can’t say hi to her ex husband?” she asked casually. “Not when that woman is you,” Jason replied. “I’m going to pretend you didn’t say that,” Brenda said looking into the diner. “Don’t you always?” Jason asked. “Seriously though what do you want?”
She saw the expression on Elizabeth’s face darken. “Shit Carly…what did you say?” she wondered. She saw Carly look over her shoulder and realized that Elizabeth’s reaction had nothing to do with Carly.
She turned and saw Courtney lean up and kiss Jason. “Ugh,” she shuddered. She turned quickly and saw Elizabeth walk into the kitchen.
“Hi Brenda!” Courtney said smiling brightly. “Yeah hey,” she muttered ignoring Jasons frown.
Just then Carly slammed out of Kelly’s and nearly knocking the other blonde on her ass. “Watch it!” Carly said angrily and stalked away.
Brenda bit her lip so hard she could taste blood. “Exactly what I wanted to do,” she thought grinning.
“What’s her problem?” Courtney asked. “Jason?”
He was about to reply when Elizabeth came barreling out and ran into him. “You okay?” he asked concern in his voice. She glared at him and stalked away.
“I’ll see you later…when it’s not so crowded,” Brenda said. She turned and headed in the direction Carly and Liz had taken.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He wanted to follow Elizabeth but Courtney pulled him into Kelly’s.
She headed for the counter, pulling her apron on. “I wonder what’s wrong with Carly? Elizabeth must’ve said something to her. Don’t you think?” she asked.
She turned when she didn’t get a response. “Jason?”
He was gone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Brenda!” Carly hissed motioning her over silently. “What happened?” Brenda asked as she crouched down. “I almost had her. Then that twit had to show up and throw herself all over Jason,” Carly replied in disgust.
“No kidding,” Brenda said with equal disdain.
“You sure he’ll follow Elizabeth?” she asked. “Trust me,” Carly replied ignoring the look Brenda gave her. “I know Jason, he’ll follow her.”
“What if Skipper follows?” Brenda asked.
She watched Carly’s smile widen into a grin. “Don’t worry, I thought of that. It’s already taken care of,” she replied confidently.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelly’s
“Do you know what time Penny’s coming in?” Courtney asked the cook.
“She’s not,” the man replied gruffly.
“What?! Why not?” she asked freaking out.
“Bobbie gave her the day off,” he replied then turned away.
“Shit!” she muttered. She picked up the phone and dialed. “Bobbie hi…it’s Courtney,” she began.
“I know what you’re going to ask me Courtney and the answer is no.” Bobbie replied.
“Excuse me?” the former stripper asked surprised.
“Penny has the next two days off and she’s already made plans, so don’t bother calling her,” the older woman replied. “Oh and don’t call Elizabeth. Her shift ended at 2, she worked an eight hour shift and she’s not going to cover for you,”
“Bobbie it’s important…”
“You’re closing tonight Courtney,” the nurse said firmly. “Closing!” Courtney gasped. “But that’s not until ten!”
“Are you sure Elizabeth can’t cover?” she asked desperately.
“I’m positive, she’s already worked an eight hour shift there’s no way I’m letting her work another one,” Bobbie replied and hung up.
“Stupid bitch!” the blonde snapped slamming the phone down
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Docks
“She already called?” Carly asked with a laugh. “I want to hear!” Brenda exclaimed leaning closer to Carly so she could hear what Bobbie was saying.
“She kept saying that it was important,” she said laughing.
“It wasn’t mama, thanks for making sure she stayed there,” Carly said.
“No problem,” Bobbie said.
“You’re mother knows?” Brenda asked surprised as Carly clicked her cell phone off. “Yeah, she’s not exactly Courtney’s biggest fan,” Carly said with a shrug.
“Ow!” she exclaimed when Brenda jabbed her ribs. “Shhhh!” the brunette whispered nodding ahead of them.
“There’s Elizabeth…now where the hell is Jason?” she wondered.
Carly pointed and rolled her eyes. “What the hell is he doing here?” Brenda asked when she saw Ric.
Carly shrugged and shook her head. “We’re going to have to do something about him,” she whispered.
“He works for you doesn’t he? Think of something,” Brenda said softly.
“I will, now shut up!” Carly whispered back. They watched Elizabeth turn and smile at Ric.
“She doesn’t look at him like she looks at Jason,” Carly thought.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Dumb blonde,” she muttered kicking a rock off the docks. She hated seeing Courtney wrap her arms around Jason. “She acts like she owns him,”
“She loves rubbing it in my face that they’re together,”
“Hey you,” Ric greeted coming up behind her. She sighed deeply and turned to him with a smile. “Hi,”
“You okay?” he asked. He noticed her eyes were red rimmed.
She bit her lip and nodded. “Elizabeth?” he whispered. He leaned down and brushed the single tear that escaped. “Why are you crying?”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason stopped when he her. He curled his hand into a tight fist when he saw Ric, tightened it even more when Ric pulled Elizabeth into his arms.
He saw her arms shake and knew she was crying. She pulled away and stepped away wiping her tears. “I’m okay Ric,” he heard her say.
“No you’re not,” Jason thought. He saw her wrap her arms around her small frame, recognized that every time she did she was pulling away mentally as well as physically.
He made his way down the steps, making his presence known.
“Are you okay?” he asked her softly ignoring Ric.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Stop jabbing my ribs!” Carly complained. “I can see them, I don’t need to feel their pain!” she said rubbing her sore side.
“Sorry, I’m just excited and nervous,” Brenda apologized.
“Come on,” Carly said moving closer to them so she could hear them better. “I don’t know about you but I can’t read lips. I want to hear what they’re saying,”
“Uh Carly…” Brenda whispered. She pulled on Carly’s shirt only to have the blonde shrug her off.
“Shhh, you don’t want anyone to spot us do you?” Carly asked, keeping her eyes fixed on Jason, Elizabeth and Ric. She smacked Brenda’s hand off her shoulder. “Stop it!”
“Damn Ric just had to show up,” she muttered. She felt Brenda tap her again. “Shit Brenda! I swear if you keep…” she exclaimed turning then clamped her mouth shut.
She gave Brenda a “why didn’t you warn me look,” then smiled sweetly.
“Uhhh, hi Sonny,”

Chapter 3 “Uhhh, hi Sonny,”
“What are you doing here?” she asked grabbing his hand and pulling him down next to her.
“Funny I was about to ask you the same thing,” he replied. “So, what are you doing here? With Brenda?”
“Oh! Um I-I-uh I’m,”
“She’s helping me look for the back of an earring,” Brenda cut in. “You know me,” she shrugged. “Messing with my hair and it just popped off,”
“Is that so?” he grinned. His gaze shifted back to his wife. “You’re helping Brenda look for something huh?”
“What? Is that so hard to believe?” Carly asked. “You know what, forget I said that,” she said when Sonny raised his eyebrows.
“So you two being here has nothing to do with the fact that Jason, Elizabeth, and Ric are standing right over there?” he asked.
“What? Jason’s here?” Carly asked looking over her shoulder. “I hadn’t even seen him,”
“Brenda did you see them?” she asked. “Gees Sonny you just had to show up this very minute!”she thought wildly.
“No, I was too busy looking for the back of that earring,” Brenda replied.
“Then you won’t mind going over there and saying hello?” Sonny asked as he slowly stood.
“No!” the two women exclaimed pulling him back down.
“Yeah that’s what I thought,” he said shaking his head. “You two can’t even come up with a good story,”
He looked at Brenda. “You’re not even wearing earrings,” he pointed out. “And you,” he turned to his wife. “You’d never stop and help her,”
“Hey I’d stop…eventually,” Carly protested.
“Did I say earring? Because I meant bracelet,” Brenda tried.
“Oh give it up already,” Carly muttered. “He knows we’re lying,”
“So what are you doing here? The truth this time,” he said warily.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Are you okay?” Jason asked. “She’s fine Morgan,” Ric replied for her. “I didn’t ask you Lancing,” Jason snapped . “Are you okay?” he repeated.
“I’m fine Jason,” she answered softly. She knew that he didn’t like Ric but to say that she was surprised that he’d snapped at him was an understatement. “He usually ignores people he doesn’t like,” she thought.
“What do you want?” she asked. “Doesn’t Courtney need you to hold her hand?” she said coldly.
He blinked in surprise and resisted the urge to plow his fist into Ric’s smirking face. “I saw how upset you were when you left Kelly’s. I wanted to make sure you were okay,” he replied uncomfortably.
“As you can see I’m all right,” she gestured around her. “And I don’t need you to worry about me,”
A ringing sound interrupted them and she shook her head. “What a shock a cell phone,” she said dryly. “Aren’t you going to answer it?” she asked Jason.
“It’s not mine,” he replied. She looked over at Ric and saw him speaking lowly to whomever called.
“Oh,” was all she could manage.
Ric hung up and turned to Elizabeth. “I have to go,” he apologized. “Are you going to be all right?” he asked glancing at Jason.
She smiled and nodded. “I’ll be fine,”
“You’re sure?” he asked. “I can stay if you want me to,”
“I’m sure, I don’t need you to stay,” she replied. She closed her eyes when he kissed her cheek softly. “I’ll see you later,” he whispered then left. She smiled and nodded then watched him leave.
“Well that was awkward,” she thought turning back to look at Jason who looked like he was about to explode.
“How did you know it wasn’t your phone?” she asked quietly.
“Because I didn’t bring it with me,” he replied.
“Why?” she asked stepping closer to him. “I didn’t want any interruptions,” he said softly stepping closer as well.
“I’m guessing that was either Carly or Sonny who couldn’t get in touch with you so they called Ric instead,” she mocked.
“Could be…it doesn’t matter,” he said casually. She shook her head in disbelief. “I can’t believe you,” she said bitterly.
“What?” he asked surprised by the change in her tone and expression.
“You’re with his sister so he’s cutting you a break right. Now that little miss thang is with you he doesn’t bother you!” she exclaimed. “I mean who cares about me right! Who gives a fuck if Elizabeth is happy? “Gees is this what I have to look forward to?” she asked as the tears formed..
“Elizabeth…” he said stepping closer. “No!” she yelled backing away. “J-just…don’t,” she whispered. “Why is it that every time I get close to someone they leave me? For Sonny?” she spat out.
“Oh sure it could’ve been someone else who called but who am I kidding! Sonny this and Sonny that!” she cried. “It’s always about Sonny and what Sonny wants,”
He didn’t even try to stop her outburst. “I’m sorry,”
“You’re sorry? You’re sorry!?” she yelled. “You don’t even know what you’re sorry for Jason!”
“Just leave me alone okay,” she whispered wiping her tears.
“The next time you see me and I look upset don’t follow me. I don’t…I don’t need you to worry about me, you don’t have to worry or feel guilty when I look upset,” she said.
“I don’t worry about you because I have to,” he said angrily. “I do it because I can’t help myself, because I care about you,”
“Stop it!” she demanded.
“I can’t! I can’t stop that. I can’t stop caring about you,” he exclaimed.
“I don’t want you to care about me Jason!” she cried.
“What do you want? Just tell me what you want,” he pleaded looking into her eyes. She bit her lip and shook her head. “I-I just want you to leave me alone,” she whispered looking down.
He stepped back and cursed softly. “Fine, if that’s what you want, I won’t bother you anymore,” he whispered hoarsely. “But I’ll still care, I always will,” he said then turned and left her, again.
“You don’t understand…” she whispered to his retreating back. “I don’t want you to care about me…I need you to love me,”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonny watched the scene before him unfold in silence. “I did this,” he thought. He actually felt shame as he watched Elizabeth brush away her tears.
He looked over at Brenda and shook his head in shock. He couldn’t believe that she and Carly were trying to get Jason and Elizabeth together.
They watched as Elizabeth disappeared up the steps and out of sight. The three of them stood and he sighed heavily. “Come on,” he demanded to the two women.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harborview Towers
Fifteen minutes later he and Carly were in their penthouse. He poured himself some brandy and downed it in one gulp.
They’d dropped Brenda at her cottage with Carly saying she’d call her later. He still couldn’t believe that they were working together. “Hell has truly frozen over,” he thought. “Next thing you know Taggert will be my best friend,”
“Why?” he asked simply. “Why what?” Carly asked grabbing bottled water. “I’m serious Carly. Why are you doing this? Why with Brenda?” he asked.
“Because I have to, nah actually because I want to,” she answered. “Make me understand,” he said.
She took a deep breath and began. “I’ve been looking at Jason, really looking at him and I realized how miserable he is,”
“He tries to hide it, tries to act like everything’s okay when it really isn’t.”
“Those nights when I came home late,” she paused then continued when he nodded at her to go on. “Those night when I came home late, the reason behind those nights is that I’d been following him.”
“You were following Jason?” he asked surprised. “And he didn’t know?”
“He was distracted. He led me to the same place every single night Sonny,” she whispered. “And where was that?” he asked sitting next to her.
“To Kelly’s,” she replied. “But it wasn’t really Kelly’s that he led me, he led me to Elizabeth,”
“Are you sure?” he asked. “You sure it wasn’t Courtney?” She snorted and shook her head. “Most of the time Courtney wasn’t even there, do you realize that your sister spends more time in that stupid loft with her dog then she does working?”
“Believe me he wasn’t there for Courtney. If that were his reason he would’ve gone inside. He never went inside,”
“He stood there and watched Elizabeth, one night he stood there for ten minutes and didn’t even realize it.”
She stood and paced in front of him “I always knew that Jason sacrificed himself for me, for both of us. I just never wanted to admit how much,”
“You’re doing this because you feel guilty?” he asked.
“Partly. But I’m also doing this because it’s fair. Because I’ve taken more from him then I’ve given back. I haven't been as good as friend as he has...” she replied. “As for Brenda all she said is that she owes it to him,”
“You owe him this Sonny. Will you help?” she asked.
“How can I help?” How can I take him away from my sister?” he questioned.
“This isn’t about her! Look we owe him this. Jason isn’t happy with your moron of a sister okay! I tried to word it another way but you don’t get it. Jason doesn’t love Courtney, I don’t think he even likes her, shit I don’t even like her! The only reason I tolerate her is because she’s your sister, and I'm not even sure she is your sister, otherwise I would’ve kicked her ass a long time ago, she’s so damn annoying!”
“Then why the hell is he with her?!” he asked. “Because he doesn’t have anyone else, because he’s on the rebound,” she replied. “Jason doesn’t do things like that,” he said. She shook her head gave him a small smile. “The old Jason didn’t, this one does.”
“Jason has given up a lot for us Sonny. It’s time we give him something back,”
“Will you help?”
He looked at his wife and saw the sincerity in her eyes; heard it in her voice. He didn’t want to hurt his sister though. After a couple of minutes he leveled his gaze to Carly’s.
“Tell me what you need, I’ll help,” he whispered.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brenda’s Cottage
“So what do you think?” she asked snuggling closer to Jax.
He rolled over her and kissed her softly. “Explain it to me then so I can really understand why you want to help Jason, and why you and Carly are doing this together,”
She sighed and looked into his eyes. “Carly said she owes it to him and as shocking as it is I feel the same way,”
“When I thought I was going to die…Jason married me, he promised to take care of me,” she explained. She laughed softly as she remembered their wedding in Las Vegas.
“He hated me...still does, I mean he really couldn’t stand me and yet he married me,” she said. “Look I’m not trying to make him out as some kind of saint, he’s not, I mean he still drives me crazy but Jason deserves to be as happy as we are,”
“Is Corinthos going to be involved?” Jax asked. “I don’t know…he might be,” she replied. “Are you okay with that?”
“No,” he replied honestly. “But I trust you,”
“Good,” she smiled.
“I just want to give Jason what you and I have, what he deserves,” she said softly.
“And what would that be?” he asked smiling.
She matched his smile and draped her arms loosely about his neck. “True love,”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason’s Penthouse
He slammed his hand on the pool table. He was too frustrated to concentrate. “What’s the point?” he muttered. Every time he looked at the table he thought of her. “Damn her for being so stubborn,” he thought.
He sank onto the soft leather sofa and closed his eyes. He groaned and ran his hands down his face. Every time he thought about their exchange on the docks he cringed. “I should’ve told her how I feel,”
“I care about you!” he exclaimed. “That’s what you say to your sister,”
He shook his head in disgust, tortured himself with thoughts of what could’ve been. “Elizabeth,”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Elizabeth’s Studio
“Shit!” she exclaimed dropping her brush. She stepped closer to the window and saw two splinters embedded in her hand.
She struggled but finally pulled them out. “Damn you Jason,” she whispered. She cringed every time she thought about their exchange on the docks. She sank onto the couch and thought of what he’d said, “I can’t! I can’t stop caring about you,”
She sank further into the cushions and closed her eyes. “He only cares,”
She glanced at the clock on the desk and saw that it was only 3:30 in the afternoon.
“I have Ric,” she mumbled. Sure he was good looking, great even, but he didn’t make her heart race when she saw him or when heard him. She hated that he always wore suits. “He’s a lawyer Liz of course he’s going to wear suits,”
“It doesn’t matter what he wears,” she mumbled. “But does he have to wear them all the time?”
She pulled a throw over herself and yawned. “Jason…” she said softly as she drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brenda’s Cottage: a half hour later
She hurried down the stairs and pulled open the door. “Where’s the fire?” she asked as Carly walked in. “I thought you were going to break my door down from all that pounding,”
“Funny,” Carly said removing her coat. “I’m surprised Jax isn’t all over you,”
“He was, about ten minutes ago,” Brenda smirked.
“Ewww! I didn’t need to know that,” Carly shuddered. “God that’s a mental picture I didn’t need,” she complained.
She watched as the brunette plopped down next to her. “Sonny agreed to help,”
“Are you serious?” Brenda asked shocked. “Better not tell him he’s technically betraying his sister,”
“Ugh, don’t even say that word. It’s bad enough that he says it every chance he gets,” she said rolling her eyes.
“Did you just criticize Sonny?” Brenda asked grinning. “Never thought I’d see the day,”
“Look I didn’t come here to talk about Sonny. We have exactly six hours to come up with the next stage of our plan,” Carly said unable to hide her grin. “Asking her to help with Jason didn’t exactly go over to smoothly,”
“Well duh! I could’ve told you that, but of course you didn’t ask me, no wait you did, you just didn’t listen to me when I told you what a bad idea that was. Did you really think that she’d agree?” Brenda asked.
“Of course not you twit. But we needed to know just how mad she is,” the blonde replied.
“So do you have any idea what to do next?” Brenda asked. “As a matter of fact I do,” Carly replied with a wicked smile.
“Oh God I have a bad feeling about this already,” Brenda said noticing the expression on Carly’s face.
“Listen up princess and listen carefully cause this is what we’re going to do…”

Chapter 4
Kelly’s
They spent the next hour smoothing out Carly’s plan and decided they’d begin that same day…with Courtney.
They stood outside of Kelly’s holding back laughter at the site of the blonde trying to cope with the filled restaurant. “You’d think she’s never worked before,” Brenda giggled. “She hasn’t!” Carly gasped out laughing. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. “You remember what to say?” Carly asked.
“Of course I do, worry about yourself,” Brenda said. “Oh yeah, like it’s going to be hard to convince her that we’re fighting and hate each other,” Carly murmured.
“You never know with that one,” Brenda smiled. “True,” Carly laughed.
“All right get in there,” Carly said pushing her towards the door. She took a deep breath and watched Brenda walk into the diner as if on a mission. “We are on a mission,” Carly whispered.
She walked into the crowded diner, paused and looked around. She walked up to the counter and seated herself. “What can I get you?” Courtney asked breathlessly.
“Ummm, I’m not sure…” she mulled over her choices. “There’s just so much to choose from you know,”
She saw the blonde roll her eyes and smiled. “So you’re working alone?” she asked. She wanted to burst out laughing when she heard a group of people come in and when she saw Courtney’s expression grow even darker.
Just then she heard Carly’s voice. “Brenda what the hell are you doing in my mom’s restaurant?”
“Has the dye gone straight to your brain Carly?” I’m here to get something to eat,” she replied turning.
“Sure…whatever. We both know why you’re really here,” Carly snapped. “Oh this should be good,” Brenda said sarcastically. “Well? Let’s hear it. Why am I here?”
“Come on! I’m waiting,” she snapped stepping up to Carly. “Why am I here,” she whispered.
“Carly calm down,” Courtney said as she came around the counter. “Your mom said that it’s okay for Brenda to come here,” “I don’t care. I want her out of here,” Carly replied not taking her eyes off Brenda.
They watched each other through equally narrowed eyes before Brenda turned her gaze to Courtney. “Where’s Jason?”
She watched the girl blink in surprise at the name. “J-Jason?” she repeated as if she’d never heard the name.
“Yeah you know the blonde guy you always are hanging on,” Brenda said. Carly bit the inside of her cheek so hard it hurt. She looked down trying to hide her grin.
“I do not hang all over him!” Courtney shrieked. “Uh huh sure…do you know where he is or not?” Brenda asked again.
“I haven’t seen him since 2:00,” Courtney said through clenched teeth. “Why are you looking for him? You’re not married, you’re not friends,” she pointed out.
“Maybe I’ve changed my mind about him,” she said with a smirk and with that she left the diner and a very pissed off Courtney.
“Carly can I talk to you about something?” Courtney asked. “Sure…what’s on your mind?” Carly asked. “Other than air,” she thought. “It’s about Jason,” Courtney said. “Hmmm this should be interesting,” Carly thought.
“Tell me Courtney…what’s wrong?”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile
“I'm not even sure she is your sister,”
He didn’t know why but those words kept running through his head. He ran his hands over his face as he picked up the phone and dialed. “Benny, it’s Sonny. I need you to come over to the Penthouse,”
“There’s something I need you to do,” he said. He waited for the man to finish speaking then continued. “Just get over here,” he said then hung up.
10 minutes later Johnny opened the door. “Mr. Corinthos Benny is here,” he said. Sonny nodded and watched the older man walk in. “What’s going on? You sounded strange on the phone,” Benny commented.
He sighed heavily and poured himself some scotch offering some to the other man. “Just water,” Benny said. He handed the man a bottle.
“So what’s this thing you want me to take care of?” Benny asked as he opened the bottle of water. He watched Sonny down his drink, the younger man looked him straight into his eyes.
“I need you to have a DNA test run,”

Elizabeth’s Studio
She awoke slowly and knew she wasn’t alone. She looked over and shot up. “What the hell are you doing in here and how the hell did you get in!?” she exclaimed sitting up.
He held up the key and she snatched it from him. “I let myself in,” he replied.
“Why are you here Jason?” she said angrily. “I said all I wanted to say to you earlier,”
“Yeah well I didn’t,” he said softly. “Why are you doing this?” she asked in a whisper. “Haven’t we caused enough damage to each other?”
“I can’t do this Jason,” she said softly. "You told me you'd never make me cry. Now I'm slipping on the tears you've made me shed.”
“Why does it come as a surprise? I was so naive. Everything you said and everything you did… maybe it didn't mean so much to you, but it meant the world to me,”
“I never meant to hurt you…this thing with Cour-,” he began. “Stop it!” she yelled. “God just don’t even say her name in here!”
“I hate that I hurt you, and I’m sorry for that, I never meant to do it” he said. “Yeah well guess what…you did,” she spat out. She marched to the door and yanked it open and motioned for him to leave.
“I just need you to listen Elizabeth,”
“Yeah well I don’t feel like it. I was willing to listen months ago Jason. But you pushed me away and every time I tried to get close you just pushed harder.”
“From now on don't look at me. Don't say my name, or even think about me; and don't even try to speak to me. What gives you the right? Just look at me now and see what you've caused, and when she dumps you, or you just can't take it anymore, don't ever ask yourself why it's happening to you. Just look back at what you've done to me, and that will be your answer,” she said with no emotion.
He stared at her in shock and silently made his way to the door. She looked away when he stopped in front of her. “Just go,” she whispered turning away.
“When did we become strangers?” he asked softly. She bit her lip and looked down.
"Do you remember the first time we met? It seemed we came together in instant friendship. We somehow knew we could lean on each other, depend on one another. It seemed as though we'd always been friends. We've helped each other through times when we never thought we could endure,” he said.
“Things change...people change, I guess we were fooling ourselves thinking we could still be friends,” she said looking up at him. “Go be with your girlfriend Jason I’m sure she’s waiting for you to help her bathe her dog or something else that's equally stupid,”
He sucked in a breathe at the mention of Courtney. He looked at her briefly and left.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Damn!” Brenda thought when she heard Elizabeth’s words. She ducked out of site as Jason bounded down the stairs. She felt her cell phone vibrate and answered it. “Yeah what?” she asked. “What the hell’s up your butt?” Carly asked.
“Oh shut up, get your ass to the docks we’ve got a major problem,” Brenda said.
“Oh yeah well I’ve got some great news,” Carly said. “I’ll be there in 10,” the blonde said. “All right, I’ll be waiting,” Brenda said and hung up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He rode hard and fast to the loft and threw the door open startling Rosie. He sat down and rested his head in his hands. “What the hell am I doing here?” he asked himself.
“From now on don't look at me. Don't say my name, or even think about me; and don't even try to speak to me,”
“How can I stop thinking about her?” he said. “It’s like she’s asking me not to breathe,” "What gives you the right?"
“That fact that I love you,” the thought startled him. “Love… do I really love her?” he wondered. “Hell yeah!” his mind screamed.
“Just look at me now and see what you've caused, and when she dumps you, or you just can't take it anymore, don't ever ask yourself why it's happening to you. Just look back at what you've done to me, and that will be your answer,”
Her words had shocked him and he realized that this time he’d pushed Elizabeth too far maybe too far to ever be brought back.
“Maybe I should just give up…” he thought. “She hates me and loves that asshole Lancing,”
“Dammit!” he yelled throwing a picture of him and Courtney across the room. He stalked into the bedroom and pulled out a bag and starting packing all his belongings.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Elizabeth’s Studio She’d closed the door and started sobbing. “God I am such an idiot!”
She walked slowly to the window and looked out. “What the hell,” she mumbled when she saw Carly and Brenda talking civilly. She frowned in confusing and saw Brenda glance up at in her direction and saw the woman’s eyes widen.
“What’s going on?” Elizabeth thought.
The Docks She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “Are you telling me that Elizabeth pretty much told him to go to hell?” Carly asked.
“Did I stutter and slip into German?” Brenda asked. “Of course that’s what I’m saying,”
“Oh gees,” Carly groaned. “Okay well we have to do damage control,”
“No kidding. You realize that this plan of yours is going down the tubes right,” Brenda stated. "Our plans suck,"
“This is just a minor setback,” Carly assured.
“Minor!” Brenda exclaimed with a snort. “Are you kidding me?”
“Do I sound like I’m kidding?” Carly mocked. “You haven’t heard what Courtney told me after you left, by the way good job at Kelly’s. I swear I saw steam coming out of her ears,” Carly laughed.
“So what did she say?” Brenda asked as she glanced up. “Oh crap!”
“What?” Carly asked confused. “Shit Carly let’s go we’ve been spotted!” Brenda hissed. Carly looked up and saw Elizabeth looking at them with a confused expression. “Who could blame her?” Carly thought wryly.
“You go that way and I’ll go in the opposite direction,” Carly said. “We’ll meet up at the penthouse okay,”
“Now give me a dirty look so she thinks we’re arguing,” Carly said. “Shake your head and walk away,” she hissed.
She watched Brenda walk away and shook her own head. “God I’m good,” she thought and headed home.

Chapter 5 - Back to the Drawing Board Harborview Towers
Carly was uncharacteristically quiet as they rode the elevator up to the penthouse. Brenda was dying to know what the blonde twit had said to her.
“I think we should drop this plan,” she finally spoke. “Are you backing out now?” Carly asked not looking at her. “No. I just think we need to come up with something else. Jason screwed us all over by going to see Elizabeth,” she pointed out.
“Maybe you’re right,” Carly said.
They both sighed as they stepped off the elevator. Johnny struggled to hold back his laughter when he saw their expressions. “Things didn’t go well?” he asked.
Brenda glared at him and shook her head. “That’s an understatement,”
He chuckled and opened the door for them. “Sonny?” Carly called out as the trio walked in. “So what happened?” Johnny asked.
“Fill him in Brenda I’ll be back,” Carly said absently as she pulled off her coat. Both the guard and former model watched her walk upstairs with a worried look on her face.
“So what happened?” Johnny asked again. Brenda shook her head and sat down dejectedly. “Let’s just say that Jason Morgan picked a bad time to get an attack of consciousness,” Brenda sighed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Sonny?” Carly called out softly as she entered their bedroom. She saw him sitting in the corner of the room, a drink in his hand. “What’s wrong?” she asked crossing the room.
He shook his head and placed the shot glass on the table next to him. “Come here,” he whispered. She smiled wickedly and sat on his lap. “No sex for you big boy. Johnny and Brenda are downstairs waiting for me,”
He smiled as he pulled her closer. “Such a bad girl,” he murmured brushing his lips against hers. “Uh huh…and you like it,” she groaned when she felt him kiss his way down her chin to neck.
“Uh-uh,” he growled. “I don’t like it. I love it,”
“I know you do,” she whispered. Her mind fogged as he kissed her again only this time she felt something different in the kiss and pushed him away.
“Stop,"
“What’s going on?” she asked. “Something’s different,”
“I asked Benny to have a DNA test run on Courtney. The hospital is going to compare hers, Mike’s and my own,” he replied.
“Why?” she asked.
“It’s something I should’ve done the minute that she said Mike was her father,”
“When will you have the results?” she asked. “Benny will call when they come in,” he replied. They were sitting silently when they suddenly heard a burst of laughter.
“Come on” Carly said as she stood. She held out her hand to him and pulled him up and off the chair. “Brenda is probably filling Johnny in on what happened earlier,”
“Wait a minute Johnny’s in on this?” he asked. She gave him a surprised look. “Well yeah…I mean Brenda and I are ambitious but not delusional. We’re going to need all the help we can get,”
He looked at her warily. “How many of my guards are in on this scheme you two have going on?”
She smiled as she backed out of the room. “Let’s just say that you need to give a couple of them some time off,”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason stepped off the elevator and flung his bag at the door. He’d tell Courtney later that he couldn’t be with her anymore. He heard the laughing in Sonny and Carly’s penthouse and frowned.
He stepped closer to their door and noticed that Johnny was missing from his post.
He shook his head and went to unlock his door. “Fuck them all,” he said angrily. He shoved the door open and picked up the bag then tossed it across the room.
“Everyone gets what they want everyone except me that is,” he said as he walked up the stairs.
He shrugged off his jacket letting it fall to the floor as he made his way across his room. “I never seem to say the right thing around her anymore,” he whispered. He stripped off his shirt and kicked off his boots and socks his jeans soon followed.
He pulled out some sweats from his dresser and pulled them on. He groaned in frustration and cradled his head in his hands. All he wanted to do was keep her safe. He trusted the hotshot lawyer about as much as he trusted AJ.
“Less than that,” he said angrily. AJ had done many things but he’d never gone after Elizabeth. He settled into the mattress as her words ran through his head.
“From now on don't look at me. Don't say my name, or even think about me; and don't even try to speak to me.”
The only way he’d ever be able to keep his eyes off of her was if he stayed away from her. His eyes were always seeking her out. She was always the first person he saw whenever he walked into Kelly’s.
She’d be smiling and then she’d see him and the smile would disappear the light would fade from her eyes and be replaced with hurt, maybe frustration but most of the time she looked straight through him as if he weren’t even there.
He hated that look and never thought he’d see it in her eyes. “You have no one to blame but yourself,” he thought. “She walked out…” he reminded himself. “I could’ve gone after her,”
“God I’m losing it,” he said sitting up. “Since when do I talk to myself?” he wondered. He shook his head trying to clear everything out and wondered when the hell he started having conversations with himself.
He glanced at the clock sitting on the nightstand and was surprised to see that it was only 10.
He knew he told Courtney that he’d pick her up but there was no way in hell he was dragging himself over there. “Let her walk herself home,”
His cell phone rang and he instinctively picked it up. He glanced at the caller id and turned it off.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelly’s
She slammed the phone down when she got his voicemail. “Where the hell are you Jason?!” she exclaimed. She dialed and got his voicemail again. She tried his home number and got his answering machine.
“Great! This is just great!,”
She put the phone back under the counter and glanced up when she heard the door open. “Oh…it’s just you,”
“I’d say it’s nice to see your Courtney but then I’d be lying,” Elizabeth said. “What are you doing here?” Courtney asked. “Aren’t you supposed to be terribly tired from all the “hard” work you do?”
“Look I’m not even going to waste my time fighting with you. It’s not worth it,” Elizabeth said as she headed up the stairs. For the second time that day Courtney was left in a very pissed off mood.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She raised her hand and knocked on the door. “Ric it’s me Liz,” she called. “Ric?” she called out again.
“Hey,” he said from behind her. “Oh gees!” she exclaimed. “You startled me,”
He apologized and unlocked the door. She followed him in and kicked the door behind her. “I called earlier but you didn’t answer,” she said.
“I’m sorry. It’s just that Sonny had me running around town,” he said pulling her close. “Hey…what’s wrong?” he asked when she turned away. She bit her lip and glanced up at him. “Is this how it’s going to be all the time?” she asked.
“What do you mean?” he asked puzzled. “Every time Sonny or Carly call you…are you going to run off?” she asked.
“I work for them Elizabeth you knew that when you got involved with me,” he pointed out. She untangled herself from his arms and stepped away. “I know. I just didn’t realize that this was going to be a redux of my relationship with Jason,” she said looking down.
“Hey,” he whispered cupping her chin and brought her gaze to his. “This isn’t the same thing,” he assured her. He pulled her close and kissed her lightly then hugged her tightly. “I’m not Jason,” he said. He felt her nod her head in understanding.
“I know,” she thought.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harborview Towers
Sonny, Carly, Brenda, Johnny, Max and Francis all sat in the Corinthos living room laughing so hard they had tears in their eyes. Anyone who saw them would never think they were in the mob or had any association with the mob.
“Are you serious?” Brenda gasped out. Carly could only nod her reply. She was laughing so hard her sides hurt.
Sonny couldn’t help but laugh himself. The guards had tried to contain their laughter out of respect for their boss but when they saw him unable to control his own laughter they gave in.
“Okay…okay,” Brenda said taking a deep breath. “She actually thinks…” she began but burst out laughing again at the thought of the blonde actually trying to think.
Sonny was the first to regain his composure. He shook his head at the thought. He looked over at his wife who was starting to calm down. She took a deep breath and smiled.
Brenda finally calmed herself and gulped down some water. “Sorry Sonny but your sister is too much,” she said. “I can’t believe that actually thinks that I’m trying to get him into bed,”
“Every one knows that he’d rather take a bullet then go to bed with you Brenda,” Max said. “Hey!” she exclaimed ready to deny that then she shrugged. “You’re probably right,”
“So what else did she say?” Francis asked.
“Well after saying that she thought Brenda was trying to get him into bed she said that she was worried because Jason seemed to be pulling away from her,” Carly said.
“I’d pull away too,” Max said. “I’d be afraid she’d crush me with those humongous arms she’s got,”
“Well with Jason pulling away from her we won’t have to focus so much on her then,” Brenda pointed out.
Johnny shook his head. “No way. If anything we have to make sure that if and when he stops seeing her we have to make sure that she stays away,” he said.
“How are we supposed to do that?” Francis asked.
“Don’t worry about her,” Sonny said quietly. “I’ll take of that,”
“All right,” Carly said seriously. She looked around the room. “We need a new plan. Jason went to see Elizabeth and ruined the plan that I came up with,”
“That plan was ruined from the start,” Brenda pointed out. “Hey it was good,” Carly denied. “Everything would’ve been okay if he’d stayed away for the rest of the day,” she said.
“Uh huh…right,” Sonny said. Everyone looked at him with surprised expressions. “What?” he asked.
Johnny chuckled and shook his head. “He’s right Carly,”
“Oh shut it O’Brien,” she retorted. He held up his hands in mock defense.
“Seriously you guys. We need to come up with something new,” Carly said.
“Something that will actually work,” Brenda chimed in.
“Something that will make them realize how much they miss each other,” Francis said.
“Something that will make them see how dumb they’ve been,” Max threw out.
“Something that will make Elizabeth see that Ric Lancing isn’t the one she really wants,” Johnny said.
They all sat in silence trying to come up with something that would do all those things and more. “We have to find a way for Ric to keep busy and away from Elizabeth,” Carly said quietly. They all nodded their heads trying to think of something while Sonny shook his head at them all and rolled his eyes.
“I have an idea of what might work,” he said. They all glanced at him and then at each other. “Is it illegal?” Brenda asked. “Because I have no problem with that…just as long as we don’t kill anyone,” she said.
“No it’s not illegal,” Sonny said rolling his eyes. “From what you said about Elizabeth and Jason’s fight I’m sure that this will work,” he said.
“Okay, then what’s the plan?” Carly asked. “We’re doing this exactly as I say,” Sonny warned.
“So what else is new?” Max muttered. Sonny glared at him and the guard gulped. “Uh sorry,” he apologized. Francis and Johnny held back their grins and stifled their chuckles.
The mob boss nodded and glanced at his wife then glanced around the room. First he told Brenda what she’d be doing, then he told the guards and finally he looked at his wife. “You won’t be doing this for a couple of days all right,” he pointed out.
“All right,” she sighed. He gave her a smile he knew she couldn’t resist. “This is what you’re going to do,” he said. When he was done they all sat back and thought of each of their roles in the plan.
“When should we start?” Brenda asked breaking the silence.
“Three days,” Sonny replied. “But what about Ric? Are we going to wait that long to start on him?” Francis asked.
Carly shook her head. “Oh don’t worry about him. I’m sure I can find something for him to do that will keep him busy and distant from Elizabeth,” she said.
“Oh great,” Max thought. “There goes the plan,” he muttered.
“I heard that Max,” Carly said. He glanced up and was surprised to see her standing next to him filling her glass with water. He sighed and ran a hand though his hair. “You really should be a more careful,” Johnny laughed. “Shut up,” the other man said.
“When you two are done behaving like children maybe you’d like to join us,” Sonny said. The two guards looked at each other then sat down.
“Well now that the kids have calmed down maybe we can discuss what to do about Lancing,” Sonny said dryly.
A half hour later they still had nothing good. “I still think we should go with my idea,” Carly said.
“I hate to admit this but maybe Carly’s right about this. Maybe we should go with her idea,” Brenda said. No one else said a word.
“Gee thanks everyone,” Carly snapped as she stood. “Your confidence in me is overwhelming,”
They all stared at each other then at her. “Can you blame us?” they all asked at once.

Chapter 6 – (3 days later) Goodbye My Friend
Kelly’s Elizabeth breezed into Kelly’s in a surprisingly good mood. She’d been able to avoid everyone she didn’t want to see for the past three days. Everyone except Carly who for some reason always seemed to be there when she turned around.
“Hey beautiful,” she heard from behind. She smiled lightly and turned around. “Hello yourself,” she greeted as Ric leaned over the counter and kissed her softly.
“Do you happen to know of a beautiful artist who would want to go out tonight?” he asked with a smile.
“You know I just happen to know of one…but I’m not sure if you’d like her,” she replied. “Hmmm well maybe she should let me decide if I’ll like her or not,” he said leaning closer to her.
“It doesn’t matter…I’m pretty sure she likes you,” she whispered. “You think so?” he asked. She nodded slowly and kissed him. “I know so,” she said softly. “What time should I pick you up?” he asked licking his lips.
“My shift end at 8:00,” she replied. “But I’ll want to change,”
“So 8:30?” he asked. She thought for a moment and shook her head. “Make it 9:00,” she smiled. He laughed as he backed away from the counter.
“See you later beautiful,” he said then stepped out the door. She laughed and shook her head after him. When she looked up and over she saw him and her smile faded.
“Jason…” she whispered.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Cellar “Do you think maybe you could stop breathing all over me?” Carly asked.
Francis rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “Do you two ever stop fighting?” he asked.
The two women looked at each other then shook their heads collectively. “It’s the foundation of our friendship,” Brenda replied. “We’d have nothing to do if we didn’t argue,”
“Why are we here again?” Johnny asked.
“Gee I wonder,” Carly muttered angrily. “Could it be because his royal highness Sonny wanted us out of his hair?”
For the past three days they’d gone over the plans that Sonny had come up with until everyone was ready to strangle him.
“You want this to work or not?” he asked. Not everyone was happy with some of the details but in the end they had all agreed that each step was the best course of action.
She shook her head and sighed. “Courtney called me last night,” she announced.
"What did she want?" Johnny asked.
“Something about cookies and Jason…” Carly replied. “I had to remind her that I’m not allowed within 10 feet of the kitchen and that Jason likes brownies not cookies,”
“What is it with that girl and cookies?” Johnny asked. “Last time she showed up at The Towers she shoved one in my mouth she practically forced it down my throat,” he said shuddering at the memory. “They tasted like crap,”
“You know what crap tastes like?” Francis asked. If looks could kill the man would be dead. “You know what I mean,” Johnny said crossly.
“Crap is the best way to describe them,” Carly said. “After she left I downed two glasses of milk to get the taste of those nasty things out of my mouth and I hate milk!” she exclaimed.
“You guys why the hell are we talking about cookies!” Brenda exploded. “I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m ready to die of boredom,”
“Did Sonny call Jason?” she asked Carly. The blonde nodded and frowned. “Yeah…he called him all right,”
“We know that you don’t like this part Carly but it’s the only way that Elizabeth will recognize what she feels,” Francis said.
“I know…but what if it backfires?” she wondered aloud.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harbor View Towers He paced back and forth remembering his conversation with Jason the previous day. He knew that his friend hadn’t been happy when he heard his orders. “I need you to go to Puerto Rico,” Sonny said. “There’s a problem at one of the casino’s and I need you to take care of it,”
He’d heard the deep sigh of frustration then Jason’s surprising response. “Sonny is there any chance that someone else can go? Benny?” Jason asked. He’d shaken his head and told him that Benny was already working on something else.
He saw the resentment in Jason’s eyes for the first time that night. He realized that Carly was actually right. “Not that I’ll ever tell her,” he thought.
They did take Jason for granted he even more than Carly. He’d taken more away from him then anyone else. First he’d taken away Carly, then Michael, and finally Elizabeth. He knew that there were other things but he also knew that those were the most important.
“All right. When do I have to go?” Jason asked. “Tomorrow,” Sonny replied.
His friend nodded then looked away. “For how long?” he asked.
“However long it takes to fix the problem,” Sonny had replied.
“I have a few things to do…I’ll leave sometime mid morning,” he said.
He looked up when he heard the door open. “Benny’s here,” Max announced. “Let him in,” Sonny said absently.
Benny waited for Max to close the door before he walked further into the penthouse. He cleared his throat nervously. “The test results came in,” he informed.
“It didn’t take that long,” Sonny commented. “Are you sure we can trust the outcome?” he asked.
“A hundred percent, “ Benny replied. He pulled out an envelope from his briefcase and handed it to Sonny. “I didn’t look…I figured that you’d want to be the first person to know…other then the doctor that is,” Benny said.
“You’re right,” Sonny said. He sat down and stared at the envelope in his hands.
He took a deep breath and pulled out the papers. He read the results over several times and then read them again.
“Boss?” Benny questioned softly.
“I have to make some phone calls,” Sonny said abruptly. “Don’t tell anyone that I had these done,”
“I won’t. Is there anything else you need me to do?” Benny asked. He watched Sonny’s expression darken then he nodded.
“Find Mike and then bring him to me,”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelly’s “Jason…” she whispered. She shook her head and narrowed her eyes. “What are you doing here?” she asked.
He stepped closer and looked around uncomfortably. “I just wanted to say goodbye,” he said watching her carefully.
“Where are you going?” she asked turning away in shock. “No! Not again…don’t leave me again,” she thought. “I don’t know why I even asked that,” she said in a rush. “I know you can’t tell me,”
She turned and he saw the confusion in her eyes. “Why are you even telling me?” she questioned.
“I don’t know,” he confessed. “You’re the first person I thought of when Sonny told me that I’d be gone indefinitely,”
His eyes flickered from her eyes to her bottom lip, which she was biting. “I hope you have a nice trip,” she whispered.
His eyes shot to her face in surprise. “That’s not the answer I was expecting,” he said softly.
“I know,” she whispered looking anywhere but at him. “I really need to get to work,”
“I know,” he said. She gave him a small smile and wished him luck. “Be safe,” she cautioned.
“I will be,” he promised. He watched her walk around the counter and away from him unaware of the person watching them from outside.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Cellar They all jumped when they heard one of their phones ring. “It’s mine!” Carly said pulling her cell phone out of her purse.
“I really need to change that ring tone,” Brenda thought.
“Hello?” she answered.
“Fire her,” she heard. “Sonny?” she whispered. She stood and walked away from the group. “Are you okay?” she asked softly.
“Fire her,” was his reply and then he hung up. She stared at her phone for a second processing what his instructions meant.
That’s when she got angry. “That little bitch!” she thought angrily. She walked back to the table and sat down.
“Where’s Courtney?” she asked in a deadly calm voice.
Francis looked at his watch. “She should be upstairs right now,” he replied.
“Bring her to me…” she whispered.
“Carly? What happened?” Brenda asked getting worried. She’d seen Carly angry before, everyone had but she was positive that know one had ever seen her like she was at the moment.
Carly looked over at Brenda, Johnny, and Francis. “It’s time,” she whispered.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harbor View Towers “Michael the next time you want to see me just call,” Mike said as he walked into the room.
“Sit down,” Sonny whispered. He gulped down his brandy.
“What happened? Is it Courtney? It is isn’t it! Just tell me that she’s okay!” Mike exclaimed.
“I said sit down!” Sonny yelled. He tossed the papers Benny had delivered earlier at Mike. “What is this?” Mike asked
“Read them,” Sonny ordered pouring himself another drink. He needed to see Mike’s reaction…he needed to know that his father wasn’t a part of the lie.
“What the…” Mike whispered as he read the papers. Shock registered across his face and Sonny knew at that moment that Mike had also been conned.
“This is a joke right?” he asked. “Dammit!” he exclaimed. “She…they…Courtney…no…my little girl?” he questioned.
“Are you sure?” he asked solemnly. Sonny nodded as he sat down. “I’m positive…she’s not your daughter and definitely not my sister,”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Cellar “Hey Carly! Frannie said that you wanted to see me…” Courtney said trailing off when she saw Brenda sitting across from Carly.
“What’s going on?” she asked confused.
“I’ll see you later,” Brenda said excusing herself. She grabbed Johnny’s hand and dragged him out the door with her.
“Francis make sure no one disturbs us,” Carly ordered. She motioned for the younger woman to sit. “Would you like something to drink?” Carly asked.
Courtney shook her head. “Carly what’s going on? Why was Brenda here?” she asked.
“Forget Brenda,” Carly answered. She stood and walked around the table and stood behind Courtney. “You know Courtney I’ve been getting several complaints about you,” she began.
“Carly…” Courtney said beginning to turn but Carly grabbed her by the shoulders. “Don’t move,” she said pointedly.
“You never show up on time and when you do you get all bitchy with the staff,” Carly said. “Several customers have complained about you too,”
“I’m afraid that I’m going to have to let you go,” Carly said walking up to the bar.
Courtney sat speechless then she stood and stalked over to Carly. “You’re firing me!” she exclaimed.
“Yeah I am,” Carly smirked. “You’re bad for business,”
“You can’t fire me!” Courtney exclaimed grabbing Carly’s arm. “Sonny won’t let you,”
“In case you forgot this is MY club not Sonny’s,” Carly snapped. “So what! He’s the one who bought it! You think he’s going to let you fire me? His sister?” Courtney asked.
Carly rolled her eyes and shook her arm free. “Why don’t you go and see what he thinks?” she stated. “Why don’t you tell him that you got physical with me too,” Carly said calmly.
“You can’t do this!” Courtney shrieked pushing her against the bar and grabbing her neck.
“Watch me,” Carly gasped pushing Courtney back. “Now get the hell out of here!”
“You can’t do this,” Courtney said shaking her head. She backed away with a smirk on her face. “You think I won’t call your bluff…well you’re wrong,” she said. “When I get done talking with Sonny he’ll make you hire me again,” she laughed then ran up the steps to Kelly’s.
“Don’t be so sure about that honey,” she whispered rubbing her neck. She grabbed the phone from behind the bar. “She’s on her way,” she said.
“Are you okay?” Sonny asked. “Carly?”
“Yeah I’m fine,” she lied. “She was just angry,” she said as Francis rushed up to her. “I’ll be home soon,” she said. “I love you,” she whispered then hung up.
“You okay?” Francis asked. He saw the imprints on Carly neck and shook his head. “She’s one crazy bitch,” he murmured.
Carly nodded slowly. “You can say that again,”

The Docks “Man I wish I could see what her reaction is going to be when Carly fires her,” Johnny said.
“Me too,” Brenda said. “But you know we weren’t supposed to stay,”
“What do you think Sonny’s going to do to her?” she asked sitting down. “I mean she’s been lying to everyone since she stepped foot in this town,”
“I don’t know,” Johnny said. “Yeah right…I forgot. You can’t say anything,” Brenda said standing up. “You know how frustrating it is to just sit here and wait?” she asked.
“I know exactly how that feels,” they heard.

Chapter 7 - Revelations
The Docks “I know exactly how that feels,” they heard.
Brenda whirled around and gasped as Johnny pulled out his gun. “Relax, I’m unarmed,” she mocked.
“What are you doing here?” Brenda asked.
“I think the more interesting question is what you’re doing here with one of Sonny Corinthos’ goons,”
“Shouldn’t you be somewhere else?” Brenda asked. “By the way his name is Johnny and he’s not a goon,”
“What would you know about waiting anyway,” Brenda stated. “Well let’s see. My husband ditches me on our wedding night to be with you, then we can’t have out honeymoon because of your problems,” Skye spat out.
“Oh get over it already!” Brenda exclaimed. “Don’t blame me for the fact that you couldn’t keep Jax. The fact that he came to me should only prove that he loves me and not you,”
“Why you little!” Skye yelled lunging at Brenda. “Hey, Back off,” Johnny warned. “You’re not even married to Jax anymore!” Brenda exclaimed sidestepping Johnny.
“I would be if you hadn’t stolen him from me!” Skye said angrily. “I can’t steal something you never had,” Brenda said evenly. Skye reared back and was about to slap her when someone caught her hand from behind.
“Don’t even think about it,” Carly said holding onto the woman’s arm. “What the hell is going on here?!” Skye said pulling her arm away. “You two are friends now? Oh no wait let me guess you’re sharing Sonny,”
“Skye you don’t want to go there,” Carly warned. “What if I do?” Skye mocked. “Francis…Johnny you want escort this so-called lady out of here,” Carly said.
“Either of you touch me and I’ll make you sorry,” Skye said. “Then leave,” Francis said.
She shook her head and gathered herself as well as her dignity. “You two are so pathetic. Hiding behind your guards because you can’t fight your own battles,” she said.
“Oh we can fight Skye…believe that, but you’re not worth getting worked up for,” Carly said. “Why don’t you go back to the gutter you crawled out from,” Skye stated.
“Carly!” Brenda exclaimed holding the blonde back. “I thought you said I wasn’t worth getting worked up for,” the redhead mocked. “Skye shut up and get the hell out here,” Brenda said. “Why don’t you go drown yourself in a liquor bottle like you always seem to do,”
“Go to hell,” Skye said. “After you,” Brenda retorted.
“This isn’t over,” Skye warned. She jutted her chin and walked away.
“God what a total bitch!” Carly said looking after her. “Yeah I know,” Brenda muttered. “Thanks, but I could’ve taken care of her,”
“I know,” Carly said. “But I don’t like her so it was fun,”
Brenda shook head and chuckled softly. “You really are something else you know that,”
“You’re not the first to notice,” Carly said with a smile. She walked over to Francis and sat down next to him. “We can’t go to the penthouse because the twit went over there and I really don’t want to be around when Sonny rips into her. Actually I do want to be there but Sonny doesn’t want anyone else there,” she said.
“Let’s go to my cottage,” Brenda said. “By the way what is that on your neck?” she asked looking closer.
“Gees Carly did she try to strangle you?” she asked. Carly waved her off and stood. “Yeah but I’m fine. I pushed her off,” the blonde replied.
“What a freak,” Brenda commented. Carly nodded silently. “Come on let’s get out of here,” she said.
“I’m starving. You have anything to eat at your place?” she asked. The brunette gave her a weary look. “Your kidding right? I can’t cook,” she said.
“You don’t have to cook all food,” Carly said. “Twinkies and cookies aren’t food Carly, it’s all junk” Johnny said.
“Yeah junk food Johnny,” she countered. “Sonny gives me enough grief about what I eat don’t you start in on me,” she said.
“We can order in,” Brenda said. Carly’s eyes twinkled and she grinned. “Yeah burgers and fries from Kelly’s sound so good right now,”
She pulled out her cell phone and dialed. “You guys want anything?” she asked the guards. They gave her their requests and she ordered them she looked over at Brenda who mouthed that she wanted the same thing. She gave her own order to Penny then hung up.
“All right let’s go,” she said. “Oh and Johnny since your going in make sure to get a lot of napkins,” she said handing him a fifty.
“We’ll be at Brenda’s” Carly said. She and Brenda headed up the steps with Francis in tow. “Oh and Johnny!” Carly called back. “Yeah?” he asked.
“Don’t skim off my fries this time,” she said.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harbor View Towers – Meanwhile She stormed passed Max like a bat out of hell and stalked up to her brother. “She fired me!” she exclaimed.
“Who fired you?” he asked calmly.
“Who do you think?” she asked angrily. “Carly!”
“Sonny it’s not fair! I worked hard for her and she fired me,” she pouted. He snorted and stood. “You worked hard,” he said coldly.
“When?” he asked. “What do you mean when! I worked hard all the time,” she snapped.
“Don’t you mean all the times you showed up,” he stated. “You have to make her hire me again,” she demanded.
“I’m not making Carly do anything,” he said turning his back. “It’s her club. She hires and fires anyone she wants,”
“Even if it’s your own sister?” she asked playing her trump card. Eyes cold as ice met hers and she backed away. “I’m glad you brought that up,” he said in a dangerously low voice.
She gulped and shrank away. “Sonny you’re scaring me,” she said.
“Deal with it,” he said grabbing her arm and shoving her into the couch. “Stop it!” she yelled.
“Stop what?” he asked throwing his arms up. “Huh what should I stop?”
“Stop scaring your sister!” she yelled sitting up only to be pushed back. “You need to stop doing that,” he warned.
“Stop what?” she asked. “Stop lying to me,” he warned looking into her eyes. “I don’t understand,” she whispered. “Really. Then let me clear it al up for you,” he said.
“You’ve been lying to me since you set foot in my home!” he yelled making her jump. “You and the whore you call mom came in here claiming Mike as your father,”
“Does any of this ring a bell or am I going to fast for you?” he asked. “Sonny-“ she started. “I am your sister!” she yelled.
“Shut up!” he yelled. “You’ve been spinning your web for months!” he exclaimed. “Well guess what goldilocks I’ve untangled myself from it,”
He grabbed her arm and hauled her up. “You are nothing but a lying whore who wormed her way into my home and into my friends bed,” he said through gritted teeth.
“Let go of me,” she whispered. He pushed her back down and stormed to his desk. He pulled out the DNA test results and threw them at her.
Her face paled and she set the papers down next to her. “You can drop the act,” he said angrily.
She stood slowly then bolted for the door but found Max on the other side when she opened it. Sonny pulled her back into the room and slammed the door.
“You’re not going anywhere,” he said as he dragged her back to the couch. “Stop acting like such a baby!” he yelled. “Now tell me why you lied to everyone and who you’re working with,”
“You think I’m going to tell you anything,” she taunted. “You’re dumber then I thought,” he said pulling out his gun. He watched as her eyes widen and she sucked in a breath.
“I’ve prided myself with the fact that I’ve never hurt a woman,” he whispered dangerously. “You’re testing my patience,”
He watched her through narrowed eyes and waiting for her to talk.
“Shit! How the hell am I going to get out of here?” she thought.
“There’s no way out,” he said reading her mind. “The only way you’re getting out of here is when you tell me the truth. Tell me who you’re working with,”
“Forget it!” she snapped.
“I’m not a patient man Courtney. Either you tell me who you’re working with-“
“Or what?” she asked. “You’ll kill me?”
“You won’t exactly get any information out of me that way,” she said with a smirk.
“You really think Mike is going to like the fact that you’re threatening me?” she asked.
“He already knows about you. He’s not too happy that he’s been made a fool of,” he replied. “Now tell me what I want to know,”
“Go to hell!” she snapped.
“You’ll go first,” he whispered leaning closer. He grabbed her hair and pulled her up. “Don’t mess with me little girl…”
“You think you’ve seen me angry,” he mocked. “You have no idea what I’m capable of,”
“Don’t make me repeat myself after this,” he whispered. “Who are you working with?”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelly’s Elizabeth glanced at the clock above the diner and sighed. Jason had been gone for over an hour already.
She cleared a table then glanced around grateful that things had slowed down. Courtney had stormed out earlier like a mad woman and hadn’t come back. “Not that I’m complaining,” she thought.
She let her mind wonder to Jason and their talk before he left.
“Can I have a coffee to go ,” he’d asked. “You still take it black ?” she’d asked.
“Is there any other way ?” he replied with his own question. “Did you just make a joke ?” she asked with a smile.
They’d both grown uncomfortable after that. She cleared her throat and poured his coffee. She scolded herself for practically flirting with him.
She avoided his gaze when he handed her the money. “Keep the change,” he said. She glanced down at the bill in her hand and shook her head.
“Jason I can’t ,” she protested. “It’s too much ,”
He sighed heavily and nodded. He stood and headed for the door paused for a moment the walked out.
“Jason wait!” she called out. She ran from behind the counter and called out to him.
“I don’t know why I did that,” she confessed. “What?” he asked puzzled.
“Why I followed you,” she replied. “I-I don’t know what’s going on anymore,” she admitted.
“I wish I could help you understand but I don’t know what you’re having trouble with,” he said. “I don’t understand what I’m feeling anymore,” she whispered.
He gave her a small smile and cupped her cheek glad that she didn’t pull away or push him away this time.
“You’re the only one that can make yourself understand Elizabeth,” he said softly. “They’re your feelings…” he said. He dropped his hand away from her and stepped back. “Bye Elizabeth,”
“No…” she said. “I’ll see you later,”
She shook her head to clear her thoughts. “I can’t do this again,” she whispered. “I’m with Ric…I’m with Ric,” she said to herself. “Jason is not good for you,”
But her mind wouldn’t let her think about Ric. She kept seeing Jason turn and walk away from her. She heard the song coming from the jukebox and shook her head.
What do you do when you know something's bad for you And you still can't let go?
Everyone had told her that he would only hurt her and that’s just what he had done.
I was naïve Your love was like candy Artificially sweet I was deceived by the wrapping
She’d been so completely naïve when it came to Jason. Sure she knew what he did. It didn’t matter because his job didn’t define him. People as the song said deceived by the wrapping. Their opinions didn’t matter to her.
Got caught in your web And I learned how to plead I was prey in your bed And devoured completely
She was enraptured by his world and by him. “Ugh! I’m so confused!” she thought.
And it hurts my soul Cos I can't let go All these walls are caving in I can't stop my suffering I hate to show that I've lost control Cos I, I keep going right back To the one thing that I need to walk away from
She hated that he could cause her so much pain without even trying. Somewhere along the way she’d lost control of her feelings. She needed to walk away and stay away from him. She was with Ric.
I need to get away from it I need to walk away from it Get away, walk away, walk away
I should have known I was used for amusement Couldn't see through the smog It was all an illusion
His world wasn’t one she wanted to be a part of anymore. Their relationship had been an illusion on her part. She thought that their relationship was something it wasn’t. “It wasn’t love…just an infatuation,” she whispered.
Now I've been licking my wounds (licking my wounds) Woke up in love and seems so great (deeper, deeper) We both can't subdue Darling you hold me prisoner (prisoner)
The pain she’d felt when he’d let her go without a fight wasn’t something she wanted to go through again. She couldn’t allow herself to fall back into the trap the oh so alluring trap that was Jason Morgan.
I'm about to break I can't stop this ache I'm addicted to your lure and I'm feeling for a cure Every step I take Leads to one mistake I keep going right back To the one thing that I need oh...
She couldn’t help herself though. She was drawn to him. Like a moth to a flame she was drawn to him. Every time she was in her studio she thought about him. She could feel him in the room.
I can make it It's some state I'm in Getting nothing everytime What did I do to deserve The pain of this moment And everywhere I turn I keep going right back To the one thing that I need to walk away from
She could make it though. She wouldn’t let herself fall under his spell. She was tired of giving him herself and getting nothing back from him. Every time she thought of the day she left she the pain that cut through her heart was still strong
I need to get away from it I need to walk away from it Get away, walk away, walk away
She needed to stay away from him. With him being out of town it would obviously be easy. She wouldn’t see him, she wouldn’t hear him or feel him.
Every time I try to grasp for air I get smothered in despair, it's never over, over Seems I never wake from this nightmare I let out a solid breath, let it be over, over
She shook her head and started filling the napkin dispensers after that the salt and pepper containers, then the sugar containers.
Inside I'm screaming Breaking, pleading the world Ahh...I don’t know what to do
My heart has been bruised So sad but it's true Each peep reminds me of you
“Just block everything out Elizabeth,” she said ignoring the look a customer gave her. She been hurt too many times and she didn’t want it to happen again.
It hurts my soul Cos I can't let go All these walls are caving in I can't stop my suffering I hate to show that I've lost control Cos I, I keep going right back To the one thing that I need...
Everything in the diner reminded her of him too. She stared at the spot where they danced then at the chair she’d been sitting in when he’d come back in May.
I'm about to break I guess I missed it I'm addicted to your lure And I'm feeling for a cure Every step I take Leads to one mistake I keep going right back To the one thing that I need...
“You have to be strong Liz and not fall back into that bad pattern you have named Jason,”
I can make it It's some state I'm in Getting nothing everytime What did I do to deserve The pain of this moment And everywhere I turn I keep going right back To the one thing that I need to walk away from
He hadn’t even been gone that long and she was missing him. “No.” she said firmly. “No you don’t miss him,” she whispered. “Stop being an idiot and think about the date you have with Ric,”
I say... I need to get away from it I need to walk away from it Get away, walk away, walk away
She walked away from him and he’d let her go without even trying to stop her. She just needed to keep walking. “Just ignore the fucking song Liz!” she scolded.
Only thing I need to do is walk away
I need to get away from it I need to walk away from it Get away, walk away, walk away
She gave up trying to ignore it and listened to the lyrics. She couldn’t help herself she just listened them. Listened to the words that told her to keep walking. “Just don’t look back,” she whispered.
I need to get away from it I need to walk away from it Get away, walk away, walk away
She sighed heavily and buried her head in her hands. Could she really walk away from him and not look back? “Why not? You did it before,” she thought.
I need to get away from it I need to walk away from it Get away, walk away, walk away

Chapter 8 Undeniable
Brenda’s Cottage “So where’s the kangaroo Casanova?” Carly asked, pulling off her coat. “Very funny.” Brenda said dryly, pulling off her own coat.
Francis shook his head and stifled his laughter. “This is just strange,” he thought. Never in a million years would he picture Carly Corinthos and Brenda Barrett teasing each other.
“Francis are you going to stand there all night?” Carly asked laughing. “Come on…sit down and relax.” Brenda said. “Who knows how long Johnny’s going to take at Kelly’s anyway.”
“Carly? You okay?” she asked when she noticed the frown on the blondes face. “Huh?” Carly asked coming out of her thought. “Oh! Yeah…I’m okay.” she replied shrugging. “Just thinking about Sonny and the blonde wonder.”
Brenda laughed and sat on her heels. “Blonde wonder…” she murmured. “Wonder as in wonder how anyone thinks that nasty color of hers could be natural.”
Carly laughed and shook her head. “Yeah no kidding. I can just picture her at the drugstore, cause you know she dyes it herself.”
“Blonde as a Bat gee that’s a good color!” she mimicked.
She looked at Francis then back at Brenda. “Do you guys think this whole thing is going to work?” she asked nervously.
“Francis?” Brenda asked arching an eyebrow. “I think there’s a good chance it’s working already.” he replied.
Brenda nodded firmly and smiled. “I think Slick Ric is in for a rude awakening.” she grinned.
Kelly’s Johnny walked into Kelly’s and stopped in his tracks. “Fuck!” he whispered. “What the hell is he doing here?”
“He’s supposed to be somewhere else, isn’t he?” he thought. With a shake of his head he made his way up to the counter and took a seat. He looked around and saw Penny waiting on a customer then looked back at Elizabeth. “Be with you in a minute Johnny,” she said.
He nodded and pretended not to listen to her conversation. “I know you were looking forward to tonight,” he heard her say to Ric. “I don’t understand why you’re breaking our date,” the lawyer said.
“I’m just not feeling well…and I’d really like to just get some sleep.” Elizabeth said.
“Good…this is good.” Johnny thought with a smirk. “Carly and Brenda will be glad to hear this.”
“Maybe another night?” he heard Elizabeth suggest.
“No! Don’t encourage him!” he thought.
From the corner of his eye he saw Ric smile and nod. “Damn!” he thought.
“Alright beautiful…I guess another night would be okay.”
“Man this guy pathetic…” Johnny thought. “If he smiles any wider he won’t be able to close his mouth!”
“Thanks for being so understanding Ric.” Elizabeth said.
“Hey…you’re not feeling well. I’d be a jerk if I insisted on taking you out. Can’t risk you feeling any worse.” Ric said.
“I think I feel nauseous enough for both of us,” Johnny muttered. The guy was so sickly sweet he wanted to puke.
“I’ll call you later, okay?” Ric said as he stood. He saw Elizabeth nod and watch Ric walk out.
She looked over at him and smiled. “So how can I help you?” she asked brightly. He raised his eyebrows and chuckled. “Must be one of those 10 second colds,” he commented grinning.
Elizabeth blushed and looked at the coffee cup in front of her. She tucked a stay hair behind her ear and glanced up at the man in front of her. “You called in an order, right?” she asked changing the topic.
He nodded and smiled at her discomfort. “Yeah…the four bacon cheeseburgers.” he confirmed. She nodded and turned scanning the counter. “Here you go,” she said handing him the bag of food. She filled the drink order and handed him the carrier. “That’ll be twenty-four dollars.” she said. He handed her a fifty and told her to keep the change. She counted to ten before she replied. “Johnny I can’t…” she protested. “Accept this…” she trailed off, he was already gone.
Harbor View Towers “Who are you working with?” Sonny asked. She winced when he tightened the grip on her arm. He shoved her onto the couch and sat across from her.
“You might as well make yourself comfortable because you’re not going anywhere until I get some answers.” he said coldly. She watched him silently and swallowed. “Damn!” she thought angrily. “I hate it when things get all fucked up!”
“I can’t tell him who I’m working with…I’ll be dead by morning.” she thought. She looked at Sonny then averted her gaze quickly. “That is if Sonny doesn’t kill me first.”
She glanced at the door again and knew she couldn’t get out that way. She wouldn’t be able to reach it and even if she did Max was on the other side.
Suddenly she remembered something and scolded herself for not thinking of it before and then she sighed dramatically. “Alright…” she whispered.
She looked at Sonny and shrugged. “I guess I might as well tell you…” she trailed off. “I just have one request first.”
“Please?” she asked. “What is it?” he asked. “Well?”
She cleared her throat and hoped he’d relent. “May I use the bathroom?” she asked.
He frowned and sat back. He ran a hand across his face and for a painful second she thought he wouldn’t let her. “Fine.” he said through clenched teeth. She sighed in relief and stood.
“Thanks-I,” she began but stopped when he stood. “Leave your purse here and empty your pockets,” he ordered. “What? Why?” she asked narrowing her eyes.
“Do you think I’m an idiot.” he stated. “Wouldn’t want you making any phone calls now would I,” he smirked.
She emptied her pockets and gave him an icy smile. “Happy?” she asked.
“Hurry up.” he ordered. “Of course…” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Wouldn’t want to keep King Corinthos waiting for too long,” she muttered heading down the hall.
She closed the door and locked it. “Too bad for him that he’s such a fucking idiot.” she said as she pulled her phone out from her boot. She dialed quickly and waited. “Hello PCPD…I need help!” she whispered quickly.

Chapter 9 - Bang! Bang! Open up! Oh…Damn!
Brenda’s Cottage Brenda jumped from her seat when she heard the knock on the door. She opened it and pulled Johnny in. “Finally!” she exclaimed. “They’re all the same right?” she asked opening the bag. “Yeah they’re all the same,” he replied.
“Carly!” Brenda called. “Food’s here!” she yelled. “Ah yes!” the blonde exclaimed rushing into the room. “What took you so long?” she asked Johnny. “I’m glad you asked.” Johnny said with a smile. “Oh God this is soooo good!” Brenda exclaimed biting into her hamburger. “Brenda shut up!” Carly said. “So?” she asked Johnny. “What happened?”
“Well when I got there Slick Ric the prick was in there-” he began. “Oh my God!” Carly exclaimed. “Hmmm you’re right Brenda this is the best!” she said.
Francis laughed softly at the expression on Johnny’s face then looked at the two women. Carly was shoving French fries into her mouth while Brenda was taking an inhuman sized bite of her hamburger.
“Are you two done interrupting?” Johnny asked. “Hmmm? What?” Carly asked. “Oh yeah! Sorry…I was starving. I mean you took longer then I thought you would and I just am SO hungry!” she exclaimed.
“Carly! Shut up!” Brenda yelled. “He’s trying to tell us something important.”
“It is important right?” she asked, then picked up some fries. “Well you’re not going to find out if you don’t shut up.” he said.
“Okay well talk.” Carly said. “Ric was at the diner, they had a date for later tonight but she broke it,” he said, then took a bite of his own burger. He looked up when he realized that neither women said anything. They were staring at him with wide eyes and expressions of shock. “She broke the date?” Carly asked whispering. “She broke the date!” Brenda exclaimed at the same time.
The guard watched them silently and then nodded.
“Ahhhhh!” the two women squealed.
Puerto Rico Jason had only been on the island for an hour and he was already bored. He wasn’t much of a gambler and had no desire to become one. He’d unpacked, settled in, and called Sonny. After checking in he was going to the casino but found himself staling.
He grimaced softly at the expression on Elizabeth’s face. She’d looked so confused when she’d run after him. He didn’t want her to be confused about him. He wanted her to be completely sure of things when it came to him…when it came to them.
“Why couldn’t Sonny get someone else to come down here?” he asked himself. He’d left Port Charles so fast that he hadn’t said goodbye to Courtney. He scoffed at himself. “Like I even wanted to,”
He hadn’t even realized that he’d left without saying goodbye to her until he was 20 minutes into his flight. He’d deliberately gone to Kelly’s so he could see Elizabeth. He hadn’t even thought about his girlfriend until he’d left.
“I don’t understand what I’m feeling anymore,”
Groaning he pushed himself up and walked out the balcony doors.
He needed to take care of the problem at the casino and get back to Port Charles as soon as possible.
“I know what I’m feeling,” he whispered. “It’s time I acted on it.”
Harbor View Towers “Hello PCPD…I need help!” she whispered quickly.
“Miss where are you?”
“I’m at the Harbor View Towers in Penthouse 4. My brother…he’s going crazy or something! He won’t let me out and I’m afraid for my life.” she whispered fiercely.
“Okay miss…calm down.”
Suddenly a loud crash sounded and she scrambled up and saw Sonny. He grabbed the phone out of her hand and smiled.
“Hello?” he asked pleasantly.
“Everything under control Mr. Corinthos?”
“Is it now. Thank you for informing me of…” he paused and looked at Courtney. “…of my little problem,” he said.
“You’re welcome, and it’s no problem.””
He hung up the phone and shook his head. “Did you honestly think that I wouldn’t have all my bases covered.” he stated rather then asked. He scoffed at her and yanked her out of the room. “I always knew you were stupid,” he said, shoving her down the hall.
“Well you fell for my act so I must not be as stupid as you claim!” she hissed.
“You’re right,” he agreed, nodding slightly. “You’re not stupid…you’re incompetent, reckless, and very full of yourself.”
She gave him a haughty look and crossed her arms. “So what?” she said. “Despite all those things you claim I am…I still managed to fool you and Jason, everyone in town, and not to mention that skinny bitch you call wife”
He grabbed her hair and pulled her to him. “Did I push a button?” she asked grimacing. “Cause it sure feels like it.”
“You’re in no position to make jokes.” he warned. “Now…tell me who you’re working with or I’m going to change my position on hurting women.”
He pulled on her hair and brought her eyes to his. “Are you going to talk or am I going to have to pull out every hair from your head?”
“Ow!” Dammit Sonny!” she yelped. “Fine! Fine! I’ll tell you who I’m working with,” she said. He let go of her hair and stepped back. “I’m waiting!”
She let out a breath and sat down mumbling. “What did you say?” he asked.
“I said I’m working for Jacks.”
“What!” he exclaimed. “Jacks! I’m working for Jasper Jacks!” she yelled.
