Chapter 18
One second she was in his arms and the next she was across the room her hand nervously trailing over the green felt of his pool table as she avoided his gaze.
“That can’t happen again.” Elizabeth said
“Elizabeth I.” Jason began.
“Please don’t.” She begged holding up her hand to stop him. “Can we just pretend that didn’t happen.”
“If that’s what you want.” Jason replied.
“I’m sorry I just can’t....we can’t...it’s not a good idea..it wouldn’t be fair.” She rambled nervously.
“Fair to who?” He asked confused.
“I should make sure Justin’s ok.” She said fleeing the conversation and the penthouse.
“Elizabeth wait.” Jason said following he across the hall.
“Mom your better.” Justin grinned happily as Johnny let her into the penthouse next door. “Did you know Stone has a tent? It’s real cool and he’s gonna sleep in it tonight in the livingroom. I wanna camp out too, can I stay? Please Mom?”
“You know what that sounds great.” Elizabeth smiled at him. “As long as you guys don’t mind.” She said turning to Sonny and Brenda.
“No trouble at all.” Sonny assured her glancing curiously between her and Jason. Something was definitely going on.
“Do you wanna camp out too?” Justin asked.
“I’m not much for camping, even in doors.” Elizabeth laughed. “But maybe your Dad wants to.”
“Do you wanna dad?” Justin asked hopefully.
“Please Uncle Jason.” Stone asked excitedly. “You too dad?”
“How can we say no to those faces?” Sonny chuckled.
“You can’t mom taught me how to do it.” Stone grinned causing them to laugh.
“Do we really have to go to the family dinner?” Zander asked perched on the arm of the sofa next to her as she hastily ran a brush through her hair.
“Yup.” She grinned at his pout.
“But I.” he began pausing when his phone rang. “It’s Elizabeth.” He informed her reading the caller id before he flipped it open.
“Hey.”
“I kissed Jason.” She informed him bluntly.
“You did What!” Zander demanded shocked as Emily watched with a mixture of curiosity and amusement as her boyfriend abruptly topped from his perch on the edge of the sofa landing on his ass.
“I kissed Jason.” She repeated. “Are you ok?” she asked.
“Fine just fell on my ass.” he replied. “When, Where, how, why?”
“About twenty minutes ago, in his apartment, with my lips and cause I’m an idiot.” She answered calmly. “We agreed to pretend it didn’t happen, I don’t really want to get into it now but I promised to call you.”
“Huh?” He asked confused.
“The other day at Kelly’s, I told you I’d call you as soon as I figured out how I felt about him.” She replied. “Well I’m not entirely sure but I do know one thing for sure I’m attracted to him. Why don’t ask me. I mean granted he’s hot but so what I should hate him, shouldn’t I?” She asked continuing on before he could answer. “I’m an idiot I know. You wanted to know so there you go. I’m attracted to Jason Morgan, I admit it. I am the biggest fool in the world.”
“No your not.” Zander cut in when she took a minute to breath.
“I don’t want to talk about it right now.” She sighed. “I can’t believe I.....I’ll call you later ok.”
“Ok, are you ok?” He asked concerned.
“I’ll be fine I just need to think. I call you later I promise.” She replied hanging up.
“Everything ok?” Emily asked as he hung up.
“Not really sure.” Zander replied picking himself up off the floor. “Noone’s hurt or anything it’s just....stuff. I really shouldn’t......”
“It’s ok if you can’t say anything.” She assured him.
“You’re the best Em.” he smiled.
“Your still going to dinner.” She said laughing as his smile turned into a pout.
