Lights, Camera, Action! by DevlishBrunette87 & StutterKiss
Authors Note: Hello everyone! This is my first time posting one of my stories at DGO so please bare with me. This is sort of like the story "Unexpected Love" by Kate. I fell in love with the concept of what it would be like to write about Scott and Lindze. So I decided to give it a shot. Please let me know what you think and whether or not you think I should keep going or just forget it. Because right now there is only one chapter. I'd like to know whether or not I should keep going. Any feedback would be appreciated. Mandie is going to begin collaborating this story with me if you'd like to see more! Please let me know! Thanks!

Chapter 1
Lindze’s back was turned as she spoke to Robyn about next week’s script when something caught Robyn’s attention, a fresh new face. She tapped Lindze’s shoulder for her to take a look. “I think that’s the guy you’re going to be macking with next week”, Robyn told her. Lindze was stunned to watch a guy she barely knew walk around the set, clearly the guy was a bit freaked out, for his hands were shoved deeply into his pockets and he was tapping his foot continuously against the hard floor. This was her co-star? Suddenly, she found it hard to breathe. Wally gently rested his arm across his shoulders and whispered a few words into her ear. And then when Wally turned his attention to her, she immediately turned back around to face Robyn. “Lindze, you should know that your face is like beat red.” “Beat red?” she repeated. “Definitely”, Maxi told her, and then placing a hand on her shoulder, she turned Lindze toward the subject at hand.
Wally was the only one he knew, the only one he felt semi-comfortable with. And now he was leading him over to a couple of beautiful girls. And he thought he’d already had problems. He was now ten times more nervous than he had been a few seconds ago. “Lindze, hi honey. I’m so glad you’re back from Spring Break.” He hugged her and as he pulled back, he whispered, “Things just aren’t the same without you.” “So how was it?” he asked. Lindze snapped out of it. “How was what?” “California? The reason you ditched us for two weeks.” “Oh, it was beautiful, really beautiful. Thanks for asking.” Wally shifted his eyebrows together. Lindze wasn’t acting herself. And then he realized the reason why and smiled to himself. “Right. I want to introduce you to your co-star, Scott Clifton.” Wally stepped in front of him, his hand rested on his shoulder as he introduced the two. “Hi”, she said softly. “Hey. What’s up?” he asked, and the only reason he pulled out his hand was to shake hers and then he immediately shoved it back in his pocket. He was a nervous reck. “Lindze Letherman, Georgie Jones, right?” “Yep. That’s me.” Desperately wanting the attention away from her, she pulled up Robyn beside her. “And this is…” “Robyn, right? Robyn Richards.” “Yeah, we’ve met.” She turned to Lindze. “Acting class” she said with a smile. And then she turned her attention back to Scott. “Did you work on that scene like I told you?” “Yeah, I think I’ve got it down.” “Great. Can’t wait to see what you’ve got.” “Oh, hey girls. We have to get Scott in wardrobe. Let’s go, man”, Wally announced. “Um, it was nice to meet you, Lindze. Nice seeing you again, Robyn.” And Wally pulled him back by the shoulder, leading him away. Lindze stepped in front of her. “You knew he was a babe, and you didn’t tell me?” “Yep” she told her with a smirk. “I knew you’d die.” “Ugh!!” Lindze groaned when Robyn walked away with a confident smile dancing on her lips. “You suck”, Lindze mumbled.
“Hey, everyone. I want to get the 40th anniversary picture done before we begin filming today. So please get in positions so hopefully this will go as fast and smoothly as possible.” Lindze went and took a seat where she had been instructed a few days earlier. And then she saw him again. Wally led him over to her. “I think this is your seat, man.” “Thanks”, he said with a smile her way, and then he took his seat next to her. “Tell me this”, he whispered to her. “I’m part of a 40th anniversary picture when I haven’t even begun filming?” For some reason she found that the funniest thing and she began laughing but when the photographer began setting his camera, she tried to stop herself. She watched him as she saw his hands shake just a little on his leg. And then she realized that she was being ridiculous. This guy seemed really cool and she found that although she was attracted to him, now she only saw him as a friend. Thank God. She told herself. Now I’ll be able to breathe around him. Glad I snapped out of that one.

Chapter 2 Scott sat there in a high chair, that already had his name printed into the back of it with these very bright yellow colors as he looked over his script for about the thousandth time. Seriously, the paper had been crumpled over 10 times and there were so many lines going across the page that the printing was getting a little difficult to read. He was so nervous. And although his lines for the day basically consisted of “Sure” and “Hello” and “All of you”, he still felt a little shaky. If he was already like this now, what would he be like tomorrow when he’s be kissing the pretty girl that he’d met earlier. And then he heard Wally’s voice as he began walking toward him. Quickly, Scott raised up and shoved the script into his back pocket. Wally approached him with the woman that he’d been talking about. “Scott, this is Jane Elliot. Jane, this is Scott Clifton. She will be playing Mommie Dearest”, he said, laying his head on top of hers, squeezing her shoulder. Jane extended her hand as Scott stood from the chair. “Nice to meet you”, he shook her hand. “Oh, don’t be nervous around me. Just act yourself. If you step out of line, I’ll let you know.” And then, she proceeded to turn and face everyone, and then she whistled. “Listen here, everyone.” She stepped beside Scott as his face turned every single shade of red as possible. She put her arm around his shoulders. Kind of like taking him under her wing, you would call it. “I’d like to introduce you to Scott Clifton. And if you’ve already met him, well then too bad. I’m talking to you too when I say that everyone better make Scott feel welcome or you will be personally answering to me. Got it?” she stated. Scott just watched her as his jaw slightly fell to the floor. He figured that everyone would just brush off everything that this woman had just said, but boy was he wrong. And then when one by one, everyone that had been in the room walked up to him, the guys shaking his hand and the women giving him a quick hug of welcome. He knew right then that when this woman talked, everyone listened.
“All right, Scott. You need to go to the hair and make-up room. Follow me”, Wally instructed. “Hey”, he asked as they walked down a long corridor. “Does Jane do that all the time?” “What, embarrass you whenever she can?” He nodded. “Yeah, pretty much. But she does it for good reason, she has a huge heart. And she wants you to feel welcome.” “Oh so she wasn’t serious about that whole answering to her thing then, right?” “Oh no”, Wally informed him, opening a huge steel door. “She was completely serious. She’ll mess up anyone who gives you a hard time.” “Ahh…” “Okay, this is Leon”, Wally introduced him to a man standing at a chair in front of a long line of mirrors and brushes and combs. “Hey”, he extended his hand. “He’s in good hands”, he told Wally. “I hope so. I have no idea what you’re supposed to do with that hair of his.” “Hey!” Scott said. “They made me grow this thing out for like 2 months, I’m serious man. I think they must have realized that this Dillon kid is a bit of a freak.” Wally cocked his head back and laughed as he stood at the door. “You’re a funny guy. See you on set.” And then he turned to face the mirror with a smile as Leon pointed his head down and began working with his crazy hair. But then he heard a voice beside him, one he couldn’t recognize yet. “Welcome to the Quartemaines, you’re in good hands”, she told him with a smile. He looked up to see an elderly woman watching him. Leon pressed his head down once again, so he just smiled and extended his hand with his head ducked down. “Hello”, he said. “And you are?” “Anna Lee. Otherwise known as ‘Grandma’ to you. Lila Quartemaine.” “I’m Scott.” And then she proceeded to tell her stylist that if he ‘dropped her dew’, she would have to kick him in the ass. Oh yeah, he was an instant fan.
His first scene was in the back of a limo. Yeah, he could totally handle this. “Okay, marks. Scott, just step into the back and then Jane will make her entrance.” He opened the door, but not without taking one more final look at the camera that was placed right in front of Jane’s side where she would be making an entrance in a few moments. Shaking his head, he stepped inside and closed the door. “And Action!” She steps inside, taking her seat next to her son. Her hand pats the back of his for a moment. And then the driver says his line. “There's a lot of traffic, but I know you're in a hurry. I'll get you to the Quartemaines' as soon as possible.”
Lindze took her mark. “Okay, remember”, Robyn warned her. “We have to hate each other in this scene.” “When do Maxi and Georgie ever act like they like each other?” “Good point.” “Hmm hmm.” “Action!” She waited several moments and as she heard Robyn speak her last line, she opens the door. “Hey guys.” C.J. spoke. “Georgie.” It was weird, playing a character where she had to pretend that she had a crush on C.J Thomason, the guy who played Lucas. C.J. and her were close, but only to the point of friends. She could never see him as more than that. “What are you doing here?” Robyn asks, her hands placed on her hips. She didn’t even realize that she’d accidentally moved her head, strutting her neck as if she were better than her ‘sister.’ Robyn bit her lip, as she tried not to laugh at how dramatic she’d just made her last line. Lindze bit hers also, but couldn’t hold it in and after several moments, she busted out laughing.
He waited on the ‘porch’ on set as he heard Jane utter her last line. “Oddly enough, I really miss you, and look who I brought with me.” Jane latches onto his arm, leading him into the Mansion. His hands are shoved into his pockets, he looks around the room as Jane finished her lines. “Come on, sweetheart, don't hang by the door. Come in and get acquainted with your family. I'm sure you'll recognize everybody. This is your grandfather Edward, the family patriarch.” “Hello”, says John Ingle. He’d met him before, earlier when Jane had made her announcement. As Jane was to name off each and every one of the Quartemaine family, he watched her as she swiftly moved through her lines, she made it look so easy. “This is your older brother Ned, my firstborn, who can't help but love me in spite of himself.” She leads him over to Wally. Now he felt okay. He was glad that Wally would be playing the part of his older brother. He was comfortable with him already. “Don't be so sure. Dillon, I feel like I should say nice to meet you”, says Wally. And then came his first line. “You, too. All of you.” Whew, that was pretty easy. Scott let out the breath that he didn’t even know he’d been holding as Jane and Wally added more to the conversation. “You'd probably be bored to tears”, utters Wally. “Do you have a driver's license?” Here comes the next one. "Sure.” Wally ran off more of his lines, completely perfect as he explained that his Mercedes was in the driveway. And then Jane tells him not to send Dillon off the moment they stepped into the door. “Mom, Mom, it's ok. A drive sounds good. You guys go on with whatever.” And then he was done, he was safe. He walked to the door and stepped out. He let out a breath as he stepped off set. He was already falling in love with the job as he knew that he would. It was just so damn nerve-racking your first few days.
“Hey”, Robyn came up to Lindze after she’d finished her scene with C.J. “Hey”, Lindze answered. “Don’t play that game with me. I know that you’re nervous.” “About what?” she played. “About what? That kiss that is supposed to happen with Scott in your next scene. Don’t tell me that doesn’t just curl your toes.” “Wait a sec, ‘curl my toes?’ No way, this guy is nice, really. I don’t like him. Not in the way you think anyway.” Robyn’s brow lifted and went back down. “Okay…Why do I believe you?” “Maybe because I am let’s see…telling the truth?” she took a bite from a chip as she walked passed her, grabbing some punch from the table outside the ‘Kelly’s’ studio. “Fine, whatever. I guess I believe you…for now. Good luck!” she patted her on the back as Lindze sucked down the punch. She was so thirsty. “All right! Scott, Lindze, C.J. and Robyn! Take your places.”
