Chapter 21
Francis felt a fat tear stream down his cheek, causing him to dip his head down low. He hoped and no one saw the evidence of moisture upon his face. Especially the man who was silently standing by his side.
He did his best to blink away the moisture that was uncontrollably streaming from his brown soft eyes. He felt some mucus building in his nostrils and quickly made a low sniffing sound.
“Stop that” Sonny harshly whispered toward his employee, “Get a hold of yourself”
Francis silently nodded his head and lifted his eyes toward the casket that was covered in white roses. He quickly scanned the sadden faces in the crowed as they all said their goodbyes and wondered for a moment what his funeral would look like. Would so many people come to pay their respects? Would anyone, other than a handful of people, really care that he was gone for good? The thought that one day his questions would be answered sent a shiver down his spine.
In an attempt to remove that thought of doom from his mind he looked up at the sun, it was a beautiful day…that was fitting in a way. He closed his wet eyes and felt the sun’s heat warm his face.
“Francis” Sonny whispered the young man’s name in warning.
The young man’s eyes snapped open and he placed his attention on the priest who was reciting a prayer for the deceased. He felt his chest constrict with sadness…he hated funerals. They were so depressing. With that thought Francis felt a tear resting on the corner of his eye and he quickly swiped it away.
“Francis” Sonny clenched his teeth, “I swear if you don’t get a hold of yourself…”
“I can’t help it boss” Francis quickly replied, “It’s my damn allergies” he waived toward all the beautifully arranged flowers that surrounded the coffin, “Their killing me, my eyes can’t stop watering up” he attempted to defend his actions.
“I’m going to kill you if you don’t stop” The Spaniard promised. Sonny was well aware that if his employs strange antics would continue…they would both receive raised eyebrows and suspicion. Suspicion…more suspicion than already surrounds them and the occurrences that had already token place was something that they did not need.
Sonny observed, severely impatiently, as the priest finished ceremony and mourners said their farewells by tossing roses on the light blue coffin. He blew out a deep breath as the realization that this agonizing charade was just about over.
“Mr. Corinthos”
Sonny visibly frowned….well it was almost just about over. He inhaled a deep breath and prepared for the tap-dance he was about to deliver to one of the most notorious gangster of his time, “Mr. Luzaraga” he flashed the elderly man a shot of his charming dimples. One suspicion of foul play from this man….one word from this man and all of the five families would turn against Sonny. All of the five families wouldn’t rest until it was him and everyone that worked for him in a coffin waiting to be lowered into the damp dirt.
The Spanish man ran his fingers through his jet black hair while looking over at his fallen friend….a man who he had done business with for years, a man he greatly respected, “I can’t believe Luis is gone” he shook his head and returned all his attention toward Sonny, “But life is like that…right Mr. Corinthos…here today, gone tomorrow”
Sonny nodded his head, shooting a worried glance at Francis who stood by silently, “So true”
“And what a way to go” he made a disapproving tsk sound, “I just can’t believe it took them two weeks to figure out that the man was missing and a week to find the remainder of the boat”
“Yes” Sonny nodded, “At first I was suspicious of foul play” Here we go, “It was so hard to believe that an accidental death…can actually just be that in our business”
The man chuckled softly, “I know where you’re coming from Mr. Corinthos. I myself was suspicious of foul play when I was informed that his yachts exploded” he slapped Sonny on the shoulder, “In this business yacht’s don’t explode because of faulty wiring”
Sonny sighed wearily, “But this one did. I had my best men along with the police investigate.” he tilted his head to the grown, “It did explode and took all it’s passengers along with it…all due to faulty wiring.”
Mr. Luzaraga pressed his lips together while he nodded his head, “correct me if I’m wrong Mr. Corinthos…but…weren’t you and you’re men scheduled to be passengers on that deadly voyage?”
“No, you were informed correctly but at the last moment I had to decline Mr. Alcazar’s invitation. I get seasick” he offered the man a slanted smile, “really bad seasickness”
“Hmmm” he eyed Sonny with suspicion, “And the girl? Elizabeth...was her name? What has become of her?”
* * *** ** * ** * *
She sunk her teeth into the large man’s back while he carried her petite body over his shoulder as if she was a bag of freaking potatoes. When he cried out in pain a victorious smile possessed her lips.
“Good!” she shouted with joy. If her hands weren’t tied together she would have reached down from his behind and twisted his balls, but she was enable….so biting the jerks back one more time would just have to do.
“Ouch!”
She smiled from the joy of his pain.
“I swear to God if you do that one more time….”
His threat didn’t scare her, it had been two weeks since he took her and not once had he laid a finger on her. She had been kidnapped by a sissy!
Well…the first night she had been petrified…scared that he might rape her….terrified that he might kill her…but all he did was throw empty threats her way when she acted up and fed her. And the cabin where they stayed at was quite nice….it could make a really nice vacation spot and it did sadden her a little bit when he all of a sudden gathered her up for relocation.
“Where are you taking me now!?!” She demanded an answer, licking her lips in preparation for another bite.
“Your last stop…and I can’t wait to drop you off so I’ll finally be rid of you!”
“Like wise Dick head!” She shot back with anger….but…wait a second….dropping her off?? Where the hell was he dropping her off and who the hell was going to be her kidnapper then? Where they going to be a sissy like this guy ? Or were they going to hurt her? Where they going to kill her ?!?!
She attempted to lift her head to take in her mediate surroundings but her dark curls shielded her vision. All the young girl could make out was that they were in some type of woods, the grown was covered with dead leaves.
But the moment she realized some type of information about their surroundings the crunching of the leaves underneath his boots came to a halt. Then she felt both their bodies elevating as his boots pounded against wooden steps. Panicking she began to wiggle for freedom.
“Stop that!” his strong voice ordered with force, “I’m going to drop you!”
His warning did not affect her, she continued her efforts, in the hopes that it would lead to freedom. But her movements just caused his hold around her tiny waste to increase. Her ability to take in a deep breath was enabled, causing her eyes to snap wide open.
A loud squeak came from the rusty hinges of a door when he pushed it open. Suddenly the light from the sun was gone, replaced by thick cool darkness.
She played dead like a possum, hung lifelessly from the tall muscular man’s body. Her heart pounded against her chest it’s force increasing with every step he took.
She was going to die!
She was going to die a slow and painful death!
His movements finally ceased, she felt him grip her hips and remove her from his shoulder. A loud whimper full of fright bursted from her quivering lips as he placed her on a chair. Like some wild animal she began to brush away her black hair with her bounded hands.
“Brenda”
The sweet soft voice rang with familiarity, it was like a coat of warmth and love had just swallowed her whole with that one word. She blinked rapidly, Brenda wondered if the blood rushing back to her head was causing her to hallucinate.
“Eli…Elizabeth?”

“Ah” Sonny nodded with a smile, “The Webber family has her well hidden. They…are rather embarrassed about the entire situation…they come from old money” Sonny lifted the tip of his nose, wordlessly telling the gangster that the Webbers were snobbish people, “I wanted to send her my sentiments…but they wouldn’t allow it.”
“But they must be overjoyed that she is well and that she had some business to attend the day the Luis out to sea?”
“They do” Sonny informed, “but these people care more about their reputation rather than the girls well being”
“Disgusting people”
“I agree”
“But the girl is ok and that’s what really matters. To her…and to us”
Sonny nodded and jammed his hands into the pockets of his black dress pants, “Yes, as far as I know, Elizabeth Webber is alive and well” Thanks Bobbie. Thanks to the red-haired woman waiting on the docks for them with an ambulance and thanks to her ability to falsify hospital documents. After she was done no one ever knew Elizabeth Webber had ever been in General Hospital. He had to remember to buy that woman a very expensive gift.
“Well, I must be going” the Spanish Gangster announced with a bright smile.
“It was nice to see you again” Sonny shook the man’s hand, thanking all the havens in the star for not having sweaty palms, “Come again whenever you have a chance”
“Oh I will Mr. Corinthos and I’ll be sure to stay away from your boating scene” the man offered Sonny a sly wink and then walked off.
Sonny blew out a deep breath and was relieved to know that Mr. Luzaraga…whether he knew or not….was not going to take action for the death of Luis Alcazar. This entire ordeal just might be…finally over.
Francis felt a fat tear stream down his cheek, causing him to dip his head down low. He hoped and no one saw the evidence of moisture upon his face. Especially the man who was silently standing by his side.
