Chapter Eleven
She quietly entered the penthouse living room to find all the men except for one, the one she left speechless, sitting down and involved in a conversation. Even though she didn’t make a sound as she approached them Alcazar stopped in the middle of a sentence to look at her. She offered him a sheepish smile and he motioned her to sit next to him on the couch with his eyes, “Sit” she simply nodded at his command and took her place next to him.
“Elizabeth, we were just talking about when the yacht arrives we should all get together to spend a day on it. What do you think?”
She cleared her throat, “What do you mean all?” she asked in a hush tone.
“I mean Sonny and his men, Elizabeth. What do you think I mean.”
She looked around the room and saw all eyes were fixed on her. She let out a nervous giggle, “I think that would be lovely”
Alcazar clapped his hands together loudly, “Then its set” he was full of enthusiasm, “Once my man Doug arrives with the yacht, I will immediately get it prepared for all of us”
“Ewwww, Doug”
Sonny laughed at the brunettes comment who was clearly not a fan of Alcazar’s man ‘Doug’, “I take it you don’t like him” his eyes were shining with humor.
She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, “It’s…….he creeps me out”
Sonny began to laugh out loud once more. Elizabeth began to join him in his laughter but quickly decided against it when Alcazar placed his hand on her knee. It was a warning. She knew it was, so she obliged to his silent command. For now at least.
“You know how it is Sonny. Being in this business” he turned to Elizabeth “You want to keep what’s important to you safe. It is a very dangerous world out there” he turned his attention back to the local mob boss and offered him a million dollar smile, “ Doug is my best man. My go to guy. So I make him watch over all my most precious interests” he shrugged his shoulders, “Elizabeth just feels like he suffocates her, but really he’s just doing his job”
She snorted loudly, “Suffocates?” she chuckled, “More like stalks me” the moment the words escaped her mouth Luis’s grip on her knee became tighter and on instinct her eyes fell upon the finger tips that were presently applying a deadly grip.
“Stalker?”
That voice caused her to close her eyes and she began to nervously nibble on her bottom lip.
All eyes immediately shot up to him, except for the dark blue jewels he wanted to look into. To see what emotions where occurring in that beautiful yet so complicated head of hers. He wanted to know if that kiss had the same mind blowing affect that it did on him. But she refused to look at him….she simply refused to give anything away.
Sonny shot up from his chair, “Jason” he offered his enforcer a tight smile, “Where have you been?”
Jason jammed his hands into his front jean pockets, leaned his back against the cold concrete wall and crossed his ankles, “I’ve been here Sonny” he shrugged his shoulders as if he hadn’t a care in the world, “Just observing” he knew that none of them had realized he had been gone. Well, Sonny did, but he knew damn well Sonny wouldn’t call him on his lie. Not in front of the almighty Alcazar.
Sonny slightly narrowed his eyes at him, “I guess you were so quiet we over looked your presence”
Jason’s eyes fell on Elizabeth. She wasn’t looking at him, but he knew she could feel his eyes upon her, she told him in the way that her fingers were slightly trembling, the way she captured her bottom lip with more force, “yeah” he chuckled with slight bitterness, “It seems I’m easy to forget about these days”
She slowly lifted her eyes from her knee to his face. Inch by inch as her dark blue eyes traveled upwards her heart would pound just a little faster….a little harder. When her eyes met his icy blues a lump formed in her throat. It was as if he had a mask of indifference on, as if Jason really wasn’t there. She had never witnessed that from him. Elizabeth was always able to tell what Jason was feeling or thinking, no matter how hard he tried to hide it. Maybe some things had changed after all.
Sonny noticed the silent interaction occurring before the two. He quickly cleared his throat and sat back down, “So Luis” he demanded the man’s attention. There was no need for him to notice the behavior that was presently going on, “When do you estimate the outing on the yacht will occur” he offered the man a charming smile, “ I want to make sure mine as well as my men’s schedule are clear”
Alcazar tilted his head to the side as he contemplated an answer, “In a weeks time” he nodded his head sharply, “Saturday”
Elizabeth could hear the conversation that Luis and Sonny were currently having but she didn’t know what was being said or discussed. Her attention was on the man who stood quietly and proudly a couple of feet away from her. He wouldn’t blink, or flinch, or even indulge in the slightest movement. He just stood their staring at her. With that damn unreadable look on his face, but if Jason thought for one moment she would coward away from his unspoken challenge he had another thing coming. She wasn’t Lizzie Webber anymore and she wasn’t about to let him walk all over her. So she stared right back. Matching the exact intensity he was looking at her with. And when she could sense she was getting to him she cocked a challenging brow at him. The corners of his mouth slightly lifted at her action. But her mouth remained tightly pressed together and she slightly narrowed her eyes at him.
He may have thought mind games were fun, well he always thought that. Wasn’t that his favorite game to play with her? But she sure as hell didn’t like it. He wanted to play, fine but he better be prepared to lose because she knew the games and knew them well.
She watched as the tip of his tongue slightly escaped his lips and slowly licked his bottom lip. Elizabeth knew that it was his way of reminding her about the kiss, that he could still feel her on his lips, that he could still taste her presence on him. She fixed her facial expression to seem as if she was bored; Elizabeth brought her tiny hand up to her lips and proceeded to over exaggerated the gesture of a yawn. Her goal was to make him think his extremely sexual action had no affect on her. That it didn’t drive her absolutely crazy and ignite a fire in-between her now moist core. But there was one thing Elizabeth couldn’t hide, no matter how hard she tried or how strong she was. She couldn’t hide her body’s reaction and this was painfully clear when she felt heat rising on her cheeks that she knew was accompanied by the color red.
He arched a brow at her, “Elizabeth” he called her in a deep husky voice that promised hours and hours of mind blowing sex, “You seemed flushed”
She’d be damned if he got the best of her, “I’m not” she said the words full of coldness and confidence.
Alcazar immediately looked at her and frowned when he saw the stains of deep red on her neck and cheeks, “Yes you are Elizabeth” he placed a caring hand on her shoulder, “Are you alright”
She reluctantly tore her eyes away from Jason, “I said” she narrowed her eyes at Luis, “I’m fine” she said through clenched teeth.
Alcazar shook his head dismissing her denial, “I think we better get you home” he stood up and offered her his hand. She locked eyes with Jason once more and as she placed her hand in Luis’s she narrowed her eyes at him and clenched her teeth together.
All three men stood up to say farewell to Sonny’s dinner guests. They all approached them and distributed handshakes to Luis and hugs to Elizabeth. Of course Francis seemed like a dog in heat when waiting with his arms open for her good bye embrace. All of them participated in the goodbyes but Jason. He stood their unmoved and his attentions well fixated on the tiny brunette.
The penthouse phone rang and Francis was quick to answer it. He informed Sonny who the caller was and Sonny quickly apologized for not being able to walk his guest’s out into the hallway. He informed Francis that he would take the call upstairs in his office so his business could be constructed in private. Of course Luis understood the nature of the business and reassured Sonny no hard feelings.
With Sonny out of the picture Jason saw a chance with a quick encounter with Elizabeth before she left. He was new in the business, there fore not very educated on how everything worked but he did know one thing. A good team could communicate without words, just by using simple jesters and Sonny’s team was one of the bests. He maneuvered himself so he was in Johnny’s direct vision. While Francis was busy hugging Elizabeth and saying his farewell to Luis Jason cleared his throat. Not loudly but loud enough. Johnny’s eyes immediately connected with his. Jason eyes bounced back and forth between Luis and Johnny. And when he saw his friend nod his head in understanding he waited patiently.
“Mr. Alcazar”
Luis turned to the guard that was calling for his attention, “Mind if I speak to you privately for a moment”
“Sure” Johnny took a couple of steps away from the couple as Luis followed. He turned around and made sure Luis’s back was turned to Elizabeth.
“How can I help you” Alcazar inquired.
Johnny nervously rubbed the back of his neck, “see the thing is….I know you’re a man of travel. You’ve seen the world and experienced many things” Alcazar nodded in understanding, “See I went to Porto Rico a month a go” he leaned in closer to the man and whispered in a hush voice, “And I came back with a rash”
Alcazar’s eyes opened in shock, “A rash?”
Johnny nodded seriously and slapped the man on the shoulder, “And it’s spreading”
Alcazar looked at the hand on his shoulder in pure disgust, he quickly jerked his shoulder away from Johnny’s hold, “I don’t know how I can he-“
Johnny leaned in even closer to the man, “When I pee it feels…..feels….” he scrunched his eyes together as he tried to come up with the right description.
* * * * * * * * * ** * Elizabeth waited for a couple of seconds for Alcazar to finish his conversation but she just couldn’t be in that penthouse any longer. Not only was Jason just a mere 4 steps away from her and staring at her like if she was Sunday dinner but Francis was just looking at her also and with a goofy looking smile on his face. She cleared her throat, “I’m going to wait outside” Francis nodded and when she turned her back toward the man and felt the cool steel of the door knob underneath her hand she felt Jason step up behind her. He towered over her petit form; he pushed up against her backside and placed his hand on top of hers. He had her cornered, trapping her between the door and him…..trapping her hand between the door knob and his. She had no where to run or hide.
She felt his hot breath glide over her neck as he bent his head down toward her hear. His lips lightly grazed her earlobe and he whispered, “Thank you for that kiss Elizabeth” she closed her eyes tightly and her grip on the handle became tighter. She felt her stomach doing flip-flops and her knees almost gave out when he pressed his rock hard chest up against her back even harder, “It should make my dreams at night very interesting”. She felt his fingers run through the back of her hair and when he made a show of lifting a silky strand and inhaling it loudly her anger kicked in. He was trying to get control…over her ….over the situation and there was no way in hell he was going to get it. She had too much anger in her and she felt too much hate toward him. She quickly turned around to face him, he stumbled a step back due to her quick movements. She stood proudly and silently in front of him.
Jason saw the rage she felt toward him beaming in her eyes, he smiled at her seductively, “Especially since I can still smell your sweet scent on my clothes,” he took a close step toward her but she didn’t retreat. She didn’t budge one inch. Elizabeth crossed her arms under her chest and lifted her chin up a notch, “Are you done?” she asked impatiently, “Are you done making a fool out of yourself?” he said nothing and nor did he give away any type of emotion. She narrowed her eyes at him in fury and he responded by smiling at her brightly. As if everything was just fun and games. And with them it really was just that except for the fun, neither of them were having fun.
She huffed in annoyance and turned to exit the penthouse. He leapt toward the door before she had time to reach the handle, “Let me” he turned the knob and pulled the door open. When she took a step forward he spoke stopping her movements, “Good night Elizabeth……I’ll be seeing you” it was a promise.
She didn’t give him the satisfaction of turning around, of wasting one more moment on him. She just walked down the hallway and began to push the elevator button merciless, “Luis!” she shouted over her shoulder.
* * * * * * * * * * ** *
Alcazar squinted his brows together in pure horror, “like a blaze of glory is shooting out of you” he repeated Johnny’s description in a horror filled daze.
Johnny nodded his head strongly, “So what should I do?”
“Go see a priest” Luis answered still in that daze. He visibly winced as the image popped into his head.
“Is that what you do when you get these things?” Johnny had to bite his tongue to stifle the fit of laughter that he was holding down within himself. This was just way too much fun.
Alcazar shook his head furiously, “I’ve never had that!”
Johnny scratched his head in confusement, “Are you sure?” Alcazar narrowed his eyes at the guard before him, “I have never in my li-“
“Luis!” Elizabeth shouted down the hall. Alcazar looked over his shoulder and realized that she was no longer in the penthouse, “Just go see a doctor” he quickly turned around and exited the penthouse. Johnny followed him to the door and when he saw the couple entering the elevator he shouted, “Thanks for the advice!”
Alcazar frowned as he urged Elizabeth onto the Elevator.
The three Corinthos guards stood at the front door in silence for a couple of moments after the Elevator was well on its way to the lobby.
Francis was the first to speak, “Jason….that was intense” Jason turned and glared at poor Francis, “What the hell was going on between the two of you” Jason poked him hard in the chest, “Mind your own business” he grouted out and then proceeded to brushed past him and stand in front of the penthouse window. He was looking at the balcony…where she had kissed him…..where he realized what she was truly doing and that he was powerless to stop her because he was week against her….he was always week when it came to her. Francis rubbed the spot where Jason poked him and shrugged his shoulders at Johnny’s questioning looks.
Johnny shook his head slightly, “What ever it was I hope it was worth it” he walked to the couch and slumped his body on it, “Alcazar now thinks I have an STD”
Jason turned to the guard and drew his brows together in a questioning manor. Johnny chuckled, “it was the only way I could keep him interested enough to not turn around and look at Elizabeth” he shrugged his shoulders, “And it was fun too” he confessed. Johnny let out a weary sigh, “And I think I deserve the right to know why you asked me to keep him occupied” Jason turned his icy cold blue eyes at Francis and glared at him once more.
Francis threw up both hands in surrender, “Fine….I’ll go to the kitchen” both Jason and Johnny stayed quiet till Francis left the room.
Once Jason knew privacy was present he answered his friends question, “I just wanted to let Elizabeth know” he turned to look out the window once more, “That I’m ready for anything she throws at me” he took in a deep breath and expelled it slowly as his eyes roamed the balcony , “and that I’m not backing down”

Chapter Twelve
Elizabeth looked up at the beautiful blue sky as she walked through the Port Charles Park. She hadn’t walked this path since way before she left. It was funny, she never thought for one second that this place….this scenery would be something she missed when she moved to Paris. She had always imagined she would miss the docks, or her comfortable bed that she had slept on since a child, but as time had passed she did find that one of the things she missed most was this park, these surroundings. She inhaled a deep breath, filling her lungs with the scent of the earth that surrounded her and a peaceful smile took over her lips. She was home.
“Beautiful day isn’t”
Well, there went her smile and her peaceful mood too. She spun around and faced the direction where the familiar voice was coming from. When her eyes landed on the owner of that voice her lips twisted together in disgust. God, she hated him, “Well it was” there was no point in hiding her distaste. Her dislike for him was well known. She pressed her lips together and formed a tight smile, “How was your trip to Port Charles Doug” she showed him a wide smile, “I hope it was filled with horrible days of sea sickness” She really did hate this man.
Doug Copperpot was enjoying the scenery of Port Charles so far. But in all honesty he did find the quiet little town to be very dull, even if he had only arrived last night, “It was wonderful Elizabeth” he offered her a toothy grin. God, he loved to annoy her….to make her angry, “It truly touches my heart that you care so much for my well being” he began to walk toward the concrete sidewalk where she stood so strong.
As he neared Elizabeth the stench of his cologne made her ill to her stomach. Her eyes wondered his greasy face and she thought she might just hurl right there and then. His beady little dark brown eyes gave her the creeps as it roamed her face. She couldn’t help but notice the tiny grease spot on the collar of his white dress shirt, it had obviously come from what ever he used to slick back his jet black hair. Elizabeth was happy that the spot was there it made him look true to his nature…..dirty and unkempt.
Doug stopped his movements when he stood a foot a way from her. When she tilted her head up to look at him he offered her a smug grin. He loved to do this to her, loved to make her feel like a tiny helpless female next to his tall and muscular strong from. He loved to make her feel weak in his presence.
Elizabeth huffed loudly and crossed her arms under her chest, “What are you doing here?” her question was laced with bitterness, “I don’t need your services while I’m on vacation” she grinned at him, “I’m safe in Port Charles. So why don’t you go kiss Luis’s ass and leave me alone”
Doug’s chest shook with laughter, “I love it when you get feisty my Elizabeth”
Oh God she was going to hurl the lovely breakfast she had just consumed, “Don’t talk to me like I’m yours” her left eye began to twitch as the rage built inside of her.
“Do you remember the last time you simply refused my services” he grinned at her when he noticed a hint of fear entering her beautiful blue eyes, “I bet you’ve forgotten”
Her smug smile quickly disappeared, her jaw unclenched and her lips slightly parted. Her mouth felt so dry, “Shut up” she whisper, even though it was never intended to sound like a plea….it did, “I’m safe here” she swallowed hard and began to blink rapidly in an attempt to keep the tears from building. A moment of thick silence filled the air between them and when she noticed that smug look on his face anger broke the fog of fear that claimed her, “I’m going to go talk to Luis” she narrowed her eyes at him and her tiny hand’s formed into tight fists.
“Like he listens to you when it comes to your safety” he chuckled, just because he knew it would make her that much more angrier and just because he knew that she knew it his statement was true.
“I’m safe here!” she shouted on a rage and quickly brushed passed him making sure her shoulder crashed into his arm with force as she passed him.
“If you’re so safe” she smiled brightly and turned to watch her leave, “Then why is someone fallowing you”
She couldn’t move, her heartbeat pounding against her chest echoed in her ears, her tight fights turned into shaking hands. Elizabeth began to walk backwards as her eyes frantically searched the park, she was trying to find the person who was watching her. Her back collided with a hard rock chest, his disgusting cologne burned her nostrils, “Where is he?” she asked desperately.
Doug tilted his head down close to her ear, he rubbed his dry lips against her soft lobe, “Danger appears and you come running back to me”
When she felt his hot breath, that smelled like rotten meat, fan across her face she took a leap frontward. Breaking the connection. She spun around to face him and pleaded with her eyes, “Where is he?” she asked once more visibly shaken by the situation, “Is it……is it…..” Her bottom lip began to tremble and soon after so did the rest of her body.
“No” he reassured her softly, “I took care of that remember” he took a step toward her and she didn’t’ retreat. As a matter of fact she didn’t even notice, her eyes were to busy searching the park, “But he’s been doing it for days. He’s way to comfortable with your movements” a strand of Elizabeth’s hair began to dance in the wind, Doug quickly captured it with his large meaty hands and ungracefully placed it behind her ear, “He is a professional”
She slightly gasped at the information. If it was a professional than it must…..it must be….it must be. Her eyes began to water, “It’s him” her voice was shaky with fear, “it’s him”
“No” he reassured her softly once more, “He was sloppy…..this one isn’t. He’s good he’s really good” he squared his shoulders and lifted his head proudly, “not as good as me, but he’s good” he brought his hand to up to her face and traced her jaw line with gentleness, “I have a feeling it’s personal” he licked his lips hungrily as his eyes took in every single inch of her soft full lips.
Her eyes snapped open, “Per….Pers….Personal” she stuttered out the word laced with fear. Doug lightly nodded his head. He loved it when she was scared, it was the only time she let him near her, allowed him to comfort her, to protect her. And he loved protecting her.
“Blond hair, blue eyes…..tall”
She closed her eyes in relief and let out a deep breath. It was Jason.
Doug eyed her suspiciously as her mood suddenly changed from terror to relief. She obviously knew this man, “Who is he Elizabeth?”
Her eyes snapped open and she suddenly realized their closeness. She quickly created a much needed distance, “Leave me alone Doug” she held her head high and squared her shoulders, “Like I said before, I don’t need your services here”
Now it was his turn to be mad to be enraged, “Well, then I’ll just kill him to make sure you are safe here” he reached inside his blazer, Elizabeth new he was getting his gun out.
“No!” she shouted as she leaped toward him, “There’s no need to kill him” she began to grab his arms, fighting with him so he wouldn’t get possession of the gun.
“Tell me his name” he commanded as struggled to get her hands away from him, “Tell me why it’s personal” He grabbed her by her wrist’s and held the tiny things together with one large hand.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about?” she was frantically struggling to free her hands as she saw him use his free hand to enter his blazer once more.
“Fine” he said through clenched teeth. He removed his meaty hand from the gun hoister, “I’ll just find out myself” he grabbed both of her wrists with both hands and pushed her body closer to his. He began to try to force a kiss on her lips, “Stop!” she shouted as she pulled her head back away from him, “Don’t touch me!”
“Let. Her. Go.” The words were dripping with murderous intent.
Doug felt the barrel of a gun press up against his lower back and he smiled brightly at Elizabeth, “Very Personal” he concluded.
Elizabeth’s face turned a ghostly white when she looked into Jason’s eyes. Never……never in all the years she had known him…..in all the emotions he had displayed did she ever see this. See this rage…..this cold and frightening behavior. He seemed like a machine, like a heart didn’t live in that body. No, it seemed like nothing lived there but rage and for the first time she knew without a doubt Jason Qautermain was gone because this Jason….this Jason could kill without a hint of remorse.
“Let go of her and turn around slowly” Elizabeth shivered at the coldness of the tone.
When Doug didn’t comply with his command right away Jason wrapped his arm around his neck with speed and force. He shoved the gun deeper into his back and squeezed the man’s neck tighter.
“Jason!” Elizabeth shouted in fear, if he would kill Doug no good would come out of it, a war would start, “Please Don’t!”
When Jason heard the fear in her tone he took his eyes away from his target and looked at Elizabeth. His heart hurt to see her like that, to see her that scared and know it was him who placed it there….who caused it. His grip around the strangers neck faltered a little.
The next thing Jason knew he was falling backwards and the concrete connected with his back, stealing all the air right out of his lungs. His gun was in the other man’s hand now, how that happened he didn’t know. Everything played out so quick.
Doug smiled when Jason’s eyes widen as he put his foot on his neck and pressed down with force. He pointed the barrel of the gun at Jason’s face, “So your name is Jason” he said smugly, “Are you thee Jason Morgan?” he chuckled, “They say your going to be a force to reckon with one day” Doug shrugged his shoulders, “I can’t deny that your good, but I think the opinion you’ve installed in others might be an overly exaggerated”
Elizabeth ran up to the two men. Her eyes bouncing frantically between the two, “Doug” she licked her lips and nervously twined her fingers together, “Let him go” she pleaded, “He’s an old friend”
Doug fixated his eyes on the icy blue of Jason’s. He had to give it to the young guy, not a hint of fear or emotion was displayed on his face. He resembled a cold stone, “Then why lie”
She ran her fingers through her tousled hair, “Because…..because I didn’t know for sure if it was him” she lied to the best of her ability.
Doug pressed the heal of his foot harder on Jason’s neck, “What is your business with her” Of curse he wouldn’t answer his question, he knew it, but he just had to check. Yeah, this guy was good.
“He works for Sonny” Elizabeth added panicky, “And Sonny just wanted to make sure I was ok here. He knew Luis had no one on me”
Doug smiled brightly at Jason, making sure to show him all his pearly white’s. He knew it was a lie, but he let it go….for now. Doug began to work his throat and nose for all the mucus that was present and when he was satisfied that enough was gathered in his mouth he spit it out right next to Jason’s face. When the spit hit the concrete floor a sprinkle shot up and hit the side of Jason’s face. He didn’t even flinch.
“I’m here now Jason” he took his foot off of Jason’s neck and let the man rise to his feet, “so you can go” he held out the black metallic gun in his large hand and offered it back to it’s rightful owner. When Jason went to retrieve the gun he quickly jerked it away from him. Jason’s jaw clenched and he started right into Doug’s face.
“Just kidding” Doug said in a fake playful tone and handed the gun back to him. But Jason was not amused and it was clear. Elizabeth was scared that a battle of the alpha males was about to occur and she stepped in between the two of them, “Jason” she turned her back to Doug, “I’m so happy your hear” she was trying to hide the fact that she was nervous as hell, “I would love to see your new home”
Nor Jason or Doug said a single word, nor did they pay attention to the tiny brunette in-between them. Elizabeth saw that she was going to get nowhere if she didn’t take some action. She tugged on Jason’s arm and began to move away from Doug, “I want to see the new place now” she ordered. Jason reluctantly tore his eyes away from Doug’s and followed Elizabeth. She wrapped her arm around one of his and walked side by side with him. She had to give the impression that all was fine between the two, “We probably should go to where you live” she whispered to Jason and took a moment to look over her shoulder, “There’s no doubt in my mind that he’ll follow us”
* * * * * * * * * * * * * “You want something to drink?”
Those were the first words he had spoken to her in the entire day, the walk toward his cottage was draped in uncomfortable silence. Elizabeth, walked into the simple little home and closed the door behind her, “No I don’t want anything to drink” Jason disappeared into the kitchen and remerged with a bottle of beer in his hand.
Elizabeth leaned her back against the wooden door of the cottage, rubbed her aching temple with the tips of her fingers and let out a weary sigh, “Jason…..why are you following me?”
“Why did you kiss me?” She curled her hands into two fists and let them fall to her side, “Why are you following me?” she asked once more but this time with anger and frustration.
He took a long gulp from the beer and swallowed hard, “Why did you kiss me?” he placed the now empty beer bottle on the wooden table behind his living room couch.
Elizabeth bit down on her bottom lip so hard she drew blood, “Why did you kiss me!” she fired back on a rage, “Why did you kiss me all those years ago! Then pretended I didn’t exists!” She walked up to him, planted her hands on his large chest and pushed him with all the strength she had, “Do you know how much that hurt me!” angered that he didn’t move an inch by her shove she did it again, “Do you know how many nights I cried my self to sleep because of you!” she shoved him again and this time he did move a couple of steps back, “You want to know why I kissed you? Because I wanted to hurt you!” she went to shove him again but he grabbed both of her wrists, “I wanted to hurt you like you did me!” she attempted to squirm out of his hold but he held her tighter and pushed her body towards him. Her chest crashed with his.
“Why do you think I’m following you!” he shouted right back at her. His tone caused her to cease all movements, she felt his hard rock chest rapidly rising and falling with each breath he took. And with each rise and fall his chest would connect with her breast’s. His eyes dipped down to her parted lips, they were so enticing, so welcoming, “I’m following you because…” his mouth was watering with the idea of capturing those lips, of sucking on that tongue once more, “Because I can’t get enough of you” his voice was deep and husky.
Her legs felt so weak, her cheeks felt as if they were on fire and every time his chest would bump hers she thought she would melt right there and then. He brought his face closer down to hers, his grip around her wrists were as light as a feather, “I saw you a couple of days ago. You were jogging, it was a complete accident that I was there” Jason cupped the side of her face and used the pad of his thumb to clear the little droplet of red blood that was the result of her bite. Elizabeth’s pink tongue darted out of her mouth and she moistened her lips, tasting his touch on them. The sight alone caused him to groan, He then brought the tainted thumb up to his lips and sucked on it, in a way making them one. Letting her life force run through his body, “I just had to watch you, to be near you” he moistened his own lips in anticipation, “Then when you left I just had to see where you were going to go, what you were going to do”
“Jason” she called out to him but for what she didn’t know.
“Then the next morning I found myself back at the same spot as before. Waiting for your return and then before I knew it…….I had spent the entire day watching you” he dipped his head and before his lips could touch hers he whispered, “being with you” his sweet warm breath fanned her lips, his masculine scent reeked havoc on her senses….it intoxicated her like it had always done. Always done………they way it has always done.
The moment she felt his lips slightly brush up against hers she pushed him away, “You must think I’m really stupid” her voice was shaky with emotion, her eyes began to sting with the promise of tears, “You’ll kiss me…..then apologize and ignore me” she huffed, “I don’t think so”
He closed his eyes tightly and shook his head, “I wouldn’t do that to you”
She let out a bitter laugh, “Yeah right” Elizabeth began to walk backwards in an attempt to find the door so she could get out of this mess, “Been there and done that and it’s kind of old” she felt her back connect with the hard wood surface of the door. She locked eyes with him and she could have sworn she saw hurt in those icy blue eyes. But she knew him to well to be fooled once more. She knew too well how he misused the power he had over her so long ago and there was no way…no way she would ever give it to him again. She may have been weak at that moment but no more; never again, “Stay away from me” it was a command full of strength full of resolution, of closure. Elizabeth quickly turned the knob and pulled the door open.
“Don’t you get it?”
Even though her mind was telling her to walk out that door, not to turn around and look into that beautiful face her, heart was telling her different. She looked over her shoulder and when she felt her heart pound hard against her chest at the mere sight of the broken man in front of her she mentally cursed herself.
“I can’t” he admitted softly and full of emotion. He took in a deep breath and placed a large palm over his heart. Because it hurt, because watching her leave made his heart ache, “I can’t stay away from you”
She gripped the copper handle with force, the words of a clever and hurtful come back to his statement died in her throat. But she knew…..she knew she had to leave at that exact moment or she would be doomed. With out a word she turned her face and quietly left….left him alone.
The door shut gently behind her and for a moment he just stared at the door as if she would reappear and jump into his arms, kiss his lips, his face. But as the time passed slowly he knew she wouldn’t, he knew that she was gone, “I’ll see you on the boat Elizabeth” he whispered to the empty living room, “This isn’t over……not over by far”

Chapter Thirteen
Jason Morgan poured himself another stiff drink, he needed to be intoxicated to survive this day. The sun was beating on his face, it was hot as hell, that Doug guy was eyeing him every chance he got and Elizabeth, of course, was ignoring him. What a great day he was having!
He looked up at the clear blue sky and prayed for a dark cloud to come, he wished for thunder to boom so loud in the sky that nothing else could be heard and then he hoped everything would be topped off with a light show of spectacular lightning and tons of fat rain drops cascading from the sky. But he knew there was no chance of any of that happening, no chance of a rainstorm coming to pass so that the damn yacht he was presently on would be forced to turn back to the docks of Port Charles. Because it was a beautiful damn day and he wasn’t that damn lucky.
He sat down on the whicker bar stool and watched in silence as Alcazar and Sonny laughed loudly over nothing in particular and pretended to actually enjoy fishing. He turned the stool lightly and was just in time to see Johnny’s complexion turn greener than grass. Poor guy was sea sick. He watched as Francis flirted merciful with Elizabeth and Jason wondered to himself if the guy would ever get the damn hint that she was not interested. Of course he wouldn’t, Elizabeth was too nice of a person to tell Francis to buzz off, she would tell Jason that and a lot more but she would never do that to Francis. She just offered the man a polite smile and engage in friendly conversation with him as she played solitaire with an old deck of playing cards.
Jason laughed out loud when he noticed she was cheating at the game. She tried her best to be slick in the process but he saw. He always saw. Jason brought the cool glass containing the strong liquor up to his lips, he watched her over the rim of the glass and when he saw her eyes slowly traveling in his direction he quickly swallowed the strong liquid and pulled down the glass. He wanted no barriers between them when she finally decided to acknowledge his existence. But just as expected the moments their eyes met she pressed her lips tightly together and looked away. He let out a deep sigh and downcasted his eyes to the cup he held in his hands. Jason began to slightly shake the object and found the noise of the ice cubs clinking together relaxing.
“Pretty girl isn’t she?”
His eyes shot up to meet with the dark beady eyes of Doug. Honestly, who the hell was named Doug. His name alone let everyone know what an ass this man was.
“So” Doug flashed Jason his crooked brown teeth with a smile, “How are your days now that you don’t have to follow her around?”
Jason didn’t say a word. He just let his icy blue eyes burn right into the mans greasy face. He hated him, he felt such a strong dislike for the man and one thing Jason knew for sure was when he got this feeling it was for a good reason. There was no doubt in his mind that Alcazars right hand man was bad news.
“Not much of a talker are you?” Doug let out a small laugh. When he realized that Jason wasn’t going to say a damn word to him he shrugged his shoulders and patted him on the back, “Nice talking to you Jason”
Jason watched as Doug walked away and sat down on the one of the couches in the main deck area. He really hated that guy. Jason was so into letting Doug know just how much he hated him by not taking his eyes off the man he completely missed Elizabeth getting up and walking to the bar to stand next to him. When the sea breeze brought the familiar smell of wild orchards to him, when it swallowed him whole he knew she was near his body. He turned the bar stool to face the direction of where the sweet scent was coming from.
She stood next to him, trying her best to ignore him. Elizabeth went about the actions of serving herself a tall glass of cool water, the entire time never taking her eyes off the glass she held in her hand.
Jason couldn’t help but smile at her, smile at her stubbornness. Her thin white summer dress flew up with the breeze. A perfect, white flawless thigh was revealed to him, he had to tighten the grasp of the glass cup in his hand to fight the erg to touch the tempting delicate soft flesh. His eyes wondered to her face, Elizabeth’s cheeks were a slight pink, it could have been from the heat, from the sun but he knew it was because of him, because of their close proximity. Jason observed a droplet of sweat cascading from her neck and slowly descending down toward her chest. He watched it disappear under the neckline of her summer dress. He licked his lips as he wondered where that little lucky droplet traveled to….what beauty it was able to see.
“You look beautiful” He whispered in a deep husky voice.
Jason could tell she was fighting to keep her eyes away from his face, she said nothing and went about dropping ice cubes in her glass.
A small smile appeared on his face as he observed her nibble on her full luscious lips. He was making her nervous, “Why do you cheat in solitaire?”
Elizabeth’s head quickly snapped toward his direction, “I don not cheat!”
His victorious smile beamed, Jason knew that would get her to pay attention to him. Elizabeth never took the accusation of cheating at a game lightly, “Yes you do”
She huffed loudly and rolled her eyes, “Whatever. I cheat because if I don’t, I won’t win” When she noticed his smile grow larger she realized what he had done. He had tricked her into talking to him….into acknowledging his existence and succeeded damnit. She narrowed her eyes at him in anger, “Piss off” she spat out, “Francis!” she shouted over her shoulder, “Would you like to play poker with me?”
Of course Jason didn’t even have to look in Francis’s direction to know that the guy was nodding his head like an excited adolescence. Jason didn’t want to take his eyes off of Elizabeth for one moment. He watched in silence as she grabbed her drink and walked back to Francis. He watched as Francis whispered something in her ear. It must have been humorous because he watched her laugh loudly as she shuffled the cards. It made him sick that Francis was responsible for that laugh, it use to be him who could make her face light up like that, but not anymore……he hadn’t been able to do that to her for years now.
Elizabeth leaned closer to Francis and whispered something in his ear that made him laugh. Jason swore that if the flirting became any more obvious between the two he was going to throw up right there and then. He felt his stomach go queasy when he saw Francis touch Elizabeth’s arm in a gentle manor. The sickness of the flirting between the two must have been contagious because Johnny seemed to be puking his guts out over the side of the boat. He must have seen the sickening display himself also. Jason couldn’t blame the guy for getting sick. If it wasn’t for the fact that he was going to kill Francis himself once the boat docked he probably would have joined Johnny.
Jason noticed his drink was empty and he needed a refill fast. He turned the bar stool to face the front of the bar and when he was about to reach for the liquor bottle that had become his best friend he noticed Luis staring at the flirtatious two. And he didn’t look happy at all. No longer was the man palling around with Sonny, talking about bait. He was standing there with his hands forming two fists, looking like he was about to pop a blood vessel.
Luis walked up to Elizabeth and Francis, “Elizabeth, can I have a word with you” even though the man was trying to hide that fact that he was angry from his voice Jason could tell all was not well. Elizabeth nodded, told Francis she would be right back and followed Luis inside the inner interior yacht. Of course Doug…..Douglass……followed like a dog following his master.
Jason tried his best to follow the trio with his eyes but he lost them once they went down a flight of stares that led to the lower deck. He didn’t like the way Alcazar looked at Elizabeth, he didn’t like the way he spoke to her. Maybe he should follow them? Just to make sure Elizabeth would be ok.
Jason stood up from the stool with his eyes fixated in the direction that Elizabeth had just gone.
“Don’t even think about it”
Jason looked over his shoulder to find Sonny standing right behind him….glaring at him….letting him know that he knew exactly what he was thinking and wasn’t happy.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * Elizabeth huffed loudly, “You’re so paranoid” she crossed her arms under her chest as she stood in the door way of the yacht’s master bed room. Alcazar stood behind her and placed his hands on the small of her back, urging Elizabeth to step inside. When she obeyed his silent command, Alcazar instructed for Doug to step inside as well and close the door behind him.
“I’m not paranoid” his voice was calm but she could detect an edge to it. It wasn’t the first time he had used that tone with her.
“Francis is funny” Elizabeth tried to reason with him, “I laughed because he said something funny and that’s that”
“You expect me to believe that!” Luis couldn’t hold onto his anger any longer, “How could you disrespect me so much Elizabeth!”
Elizabeth slightly raised both of her hands in front of her body, “Calm down” but Luis had no intention to calm down he lunged at her, grabbing both of her thin delicate arms with force, “I can see how much you care for me Elizabeth” his grip around her arms became tighter, “Just remember where you’d be right now if it wasn’t for me” his eyes were shinning with rage.
“Luis” Elizabeth hoped her calm stature would be contagious, “You know I care about you. Don’t be ridiculous.” Alcazar shook her once hard, “Your ridiculous!” he shouted full of rage.
“Calm down!” Elizabeth shouted back not being able to control her own anger and frustration. Luis roughly brought her body crashing against his, his eyes traveled her face with pure disgust in them, “You’re a whore” he spat out bitterly, “I should have left you that day” a sick grin appeared on his face as he saw the sad affect his statement had on her, “Some times I wish I would have never met you”
Luis dug his nails into her arms, Elizabeth winced from the pain it caused her. She narrowed her eyes at him and clenched her jaw, “I wish the same thing many times”
Luis’s eyes widen at her hurtful admission, his temple began to pulse with pain and the rage he felt knew no boundaries. He quickly shoved her backwards with all the strength he had and Elizabeth’s tiny body flew back words landing on the hard surface of the bedroom floor, “Don’t you ever talk to me like that again!” the room trembled from the volume of his words. He stalked toward her and when Elizabeth felt his pounding footsteps head in her direction she used her arms as shields to cover her face. He hovered over her tiny body like a giant, “I love you so much” he crouched down and when he heard her whimper he ran his fingers through her tousled hair. He truly did adore her, “and it hurts when you talk to me like that” his lips formed a tight smile as the hand he was running in through her hair turned into a fist. He strangled her brown locks in his large hand, Elizabeth cried out loud from the pain, “I think” His tone was cold and eerie, “That you need some time alone to ponder about how you have behaved today” He let go of her hair and came to a standing position. Elizabeth peeked at him through her arms, the tears of physical and emotional pain cascading down her face, “No” she whispered weakly.
Luis squared his shoulders and ran his fingers through his own hair, trying to regain his composure, “Yes. I think some time alone will do you good” when he observed her eyes widen with fear he smiled at her, “I’ll tell our gets that you don’t feel good” he let out a dramatic sigh, “they’ll be so disappointed”
She sat up, “No” she pleaded more loudly as her bottom lip began to quiver with fear, “Pleas don’t” she began to sob uncontrollably, “You know I can’t stand it! You know I can’t stand it!” Luis turned his back on her as if her pleas and tears didn’t affect him one bit. She quickly crawled toward his legs and wrapped her arms around them, “Don’t please!” she rubbed the side of her face against his leg, “I’m sorry….I’m sorry!”
But her frantic pleas didn’t work on him, “Doug” his right hand man quickly walked up to them and pulled Elizabeth off of Luis. He ignored her frantic pleas and cries, Luis walked up to the door and looked at the lovely Elizabeth, “You did this not me” and walked out.
“Luis please don’t!” she shouted as he left her, left her to that damn room that she knew she in just a moment would be locked inside, “I’m sorry!” she shouted on a frantic last attempt to escape the feeling of being locked in a room once again. In an attempt to escape those horrific memories from her past.
Doug stood in front of her as she sat brokenly on the floor. He couldn’t help the grin that possessed his thin lips, “You behave” his tone was condescending. He was a condescending little shit. He patted her head as if she was a dog, “Stay” he commanded as he walked to the door. She watched in terror as he closed the large wooden door and when she heard the sound of the door locking panic and fear rose in her body, “don’t lock me in here!” she frantically crawled on her hand and knees to the wooden door. She began to beat on it with her tiny fists, “Please, don’t!” she punched the door over and over again as she cried for her freedom, “You know how I can’t stand it!” she shouted for Luis, for Doug…..for anyone to hear.
* * * * * * * * *** * ** Alcazar smiled at his guest as if nothing had occurred just moments ago, “Elizabeth sends her apologies,” his smile grew larger, “But she’s feeling sea sick and won’t be joining us for the rest of the day.
Sonny smiled and gestured to Johnny who was once again puking his guts out for the third time that day, “It seems to be contagious” Alcazar let out a laugh and joined Sonny to sit down for a glass of brandy.
Jason looked at the faces of everyone on that yacht, Francis was clearly disappointed but quickly took Luis’s word as gospel. When Doug joined the man for that poker game Elizabeth had promised he seemed to have forgotten about her. Johnny was to busy throwing up and Sonny and Alcazar were engaged in yet another fascinating conversation about the luxurious things they could afford. Everyone seemed pleased…..everyone except for him.
Maybe he would have been just as naive as every one else about Elizabeth’s sudden absence if he didn’t know better. If he didn’t have a history with the girl. Elizabeth never got sea sick, if Jason recalled correctly she use to be the only female on the boat outings when they were younger who wouldn’t get ill.
A feeling of uneasiness arose in his body, he had to check if she was ok. Jason waited in silence for the perfect timing to make his move. Once again being quiet and not causing attention to himself played in his favor in a big way. No one would notice if he’d slip away….why would they. Everyone seemed to forget that he was there to begin with.
He quietly made his way into the inside of the yacht and down the steps he went where he had seen the three of them walk some time ago. The stair case led to a large hallway where there were several doors. The loud roaring of the engine echoed in the empty hallway, “Elizabeth” he called out to her but no answer. He began to slowly make his way down the hallway, “Elizabeth” he cried out to her once more but received no answer.
Maybe Luis was right. Maybe she was sick and was sleeping. Jason decided he didn’t want to upset the girl more than he already had. He began to make his way back toward the steps.
Then he heard it, it was so low he had to question himself if he even heard it at all. It was a small sob, “Elizabeth!” he shouted loudly so she could hear over the noise of the engine. One of the large wooden doors shook, as if some one was banging on it. He ran up to the door and shouted her name. The door shook again and he heard a muffle shout, “I can’t stand it!” His eyes fell to the bottom of the floor, that was wear the voice was coming from. He crouched down and spoke closely to the wooden door so she could hear, “Elizabeth, are you ok?”
“Jason” she shouted back, “Oh, God Jason please get me out of here!” she began to bang on the door harder. Jason went to turn the knob but it was locked, he frowned as that uneasy feeling grew larger, “How did you get locked in there?”
Silence took over for a couple of seconds. She didn’t whimper, she didn’t scream she didn’t cry. Jason had to repeat the question to finally get an answer from her.
“I locked myself in here by accident. Please just get me out!”
Jason Morgan might have been an odd man for some peoples taste and yes he might have been slow when it came to certain things but he knew a lie when he heard one. He knew when a story didn’t make any sense, “how did you lock yourself in there?”
“Don’t ask me stupid questions!” the door began to vibrate furiously. He knew she was kicking it, “Just get me out!”
Jason decided to let it go for now…….for now, because he sure as hell was going to get to the bottom of this. He took out his pick lock kit from the back of his jeans and began to get to work on the lock. And then it hit him. This was the perfect situation to get her to actually listen to him. To get her to understand how he had changed, to tell his story.
He eyed the door as he decided if he should go through with this plan or not, “I’m almost done”
“Thank you Jason”
Jason licked his dry lips as he mentally prepared himself for the situation. She would either agree and end up hating him, or not and end up hating him. Or……or agree to sit down with him and end up getting to know the true him….the true him that he was at that moment in time, “Elizabeth”
“Yes”
“I just got to do one more thing to this lock and your out” he heard a sob of joy escape her lips, “But”
“But what!” she shouted back terror rising in her voice once more.
“But once I let you out you have to promise to sit down with me and talk. And I mean talk and listen. No running away, no shouting at each other. Just the two of us talking”
She let out a deep breath of relief, for a moment there she thought he couldn’t pick the lock, “Fine! I promise just hurry please!”
A small smile appeared on his lips when he heard the lock of the door give. He turned the knob and opened the door. The moment it was fully opened Elizabeth jumped into his arms, “Thank you Jason” she held him tight and thanked him numerous times for her freedom.
He took pleasure in every single moment that she allowed him to hold her. It had been so long…..too long since she willingly stayed in his arms. Elizabeth pulled away from him and began to wipe the evidence of tears from her face.
That gleaming smile that possessed his lips just moments ago faded quickly when he saw the red blotches on her beautiful white skin, when he noticed her puffy eyes and red nose. And murderous rage began to built deep with in his gut when he noticed the red finger marks on her tiny arms, “What happened” his chest was rapidly rising and falling, his hands were clenching and unclenching into two fists and a thick blue vain in his forehead was popping out. Pulsating.
“Nothing” she quickly attempted to cover the truth of the situation, “I’m clumsy that’s all” she let out a nervous giggle.
Jason brushed right passed her, he had every intention of walking up those stairs and beating the crap out of Luis. He didn’t care who was there, didn’t care what type of trouble it would cause him. He was going to choke the man to death, squeeze every bit of life out of him.
Elizabeth frantically ran right by Jason and stood in front of the stairs, not allowing him passage, “I thought you said you wanted to talk?”
“Move”
She placed her hands on her slender hips and lifted her chin up a notch, “This is the only chance you’ll get to talk to me” she lifted a brow in challenge, “Your going to throw it away?”
Jason rubbed the back of his neck out of frustration, he wanted to kill Luis and Doug for that matter but…..he wanted to set things straight with Elizabeth. He let out a deep breath and offered Elizabeth his hand. He could always make the two men pay for what they had done to her. There wasn’t a time limit but it there was a guarantee. They would pay. Elizabeth was only offering him one chance and he had to take it. She placed her tiny hand in his large rough hand and began to walk down the hall, “Well talk at the back of the boat….no interruptions” She opened a large wooden door that led to the kitchen, “I think we need some liquor” she turned to him and offered a large smile, “I know I do” he nodded as he watched her scrounge through the cabinets for any type of alcohol. She let out a little excited yelp when she found a bottle of Champaign, “Perfect!” she beamed. She pointed toward a small narrow staircase that led to the back of the yacht as she held the large green bottle with her other hand, “After you”

Chapter Fourteen
At some point Jason didn’t realize how fast he was actually talking, how fast he was fumbling to get the words out of his mouth. It must have been because he was frightened. Frightened that at any moment she was going to get up and walk away from him, frightened that she wasn’t going to give a rats ass at his excuses….his experiences….his reasoning for treating her like trash when they were younger. But she didn’t budge or talk much really. Elizabeth would just nod and bring the large Champaign bottle to her mouth, take in a large gulp of the liquid and sometimes she would smack her lips expressing her satisfaction with the sweet yet bitter taste of the alcoholic beverage. And that was pretty much it.
Well, except when he explained the reason why he ignored her all those years after that first kiss on the shores of Marco Beach was because he knew that he fell in love with her the moment their lips touched. Jason could have sworn he heard Elizabeth grunt, he wasn’t sure if he should go on with his explanation but he did. Jason explained that at that moment in his life he knew that if he continued playing the role of friendship with her it would turn into something much more, something much deeper and at that moment in his life he just couldn’t handle that. Couldn’t handle going against his parents wishes of him marrying Robin, he knew Elizabeth was the key to his freedom and with that came a price he just wasn’t ready to pay. Elizabeth would have encouraged him not to become a doctor, would have told him to follow his dream while she stood by him. In reality, she just would have made things way to easy for him……would have made life in general way to easy and wonderful for him. And the problem was it would have been the life he wanted to live, not the one he had to live, not the one his parents wanted him to have.
She did speak a couple of words when he told her about how his parents treated him when he decided to not return to medical school and when he called off his engagement to Robin. How they kicked him out of the house without a penny to his name, how he was forced to move in with Robin and watch her suffer daily from his decision to call of their relationship entirely. At a point Robin’s suffering just became too much for him that he moved out and lived on the streets for months, without food, without any money until Sonny took him in and gave him a job.
To all of this she replied with a simple, “Well, that must have sucked” Jason could have sworn he heard her murmur ‘donkey balls’ under her breath at the end of the sentence but chose to ignore it. He had to believe that some of the new information he was telling Elizabeth had some type of affect on her.
After a long uncomfortable pause he decided to ask her about France, Jason wanted her to open up to him, wanted her to see that he wasn’t that spoiled frightened child who had hurt her so long ago.
“France is cool” she replied curtly.
“Just ….cool” he bumped her with his shoulder, “There has to be more than that to it”
She cocked her head to the side in deep thought, “well” she began, “I did meet Brenda there, she’s my roommate”
“Brenda” Jason repeated with a short series of nods, “Are you two friends”
“The best damn friend I’ve ever had” Elizabeth announced with pride, “She never cared how I looked or how I acted when we met, she liked me for me” Elizabeth sighed deeply and took a large sip of the now luke warm Champaign, “Brenda showed me a different world” a small bitter laugh escaped her lips, “One I think she will always regret”
Jason drew his brows together in question, “Regret?”
Elizabeth nodded her head sharply, “Yeah, because with that world he came along”
“Luis?”
“No” She shook her head, “Not Luis…..Him” she spoke the word as if Jason automatically knew who this ‘him’ was, “Things weren’t suppose to end the way they did” she shrugged her shoulders as a far away look claimed her face, it seemed as if she was lost in a memory of terror, “But it did” she spoke the words so lost, so soft, so low that Jason knew what ever was behind them…..would haunt him forever once he knew the truth. And he would one day find out the truth, that he promised himself.
Elizabeth shook her head frantically as if she was shaking off the horrid image from her mind, “Anyways…back to Brenda” She let out a light giggle that made the tight hold on Jason’s heart ease slightly, “She’s really the only person I can say that honestly loves me for me, my one true friend, I would do anything for her” she turned and locked eyes with Jason, “And she would do anything for me” Elizabeth announced with pride and love.
Jason sighed and rubbed the back of his aching neck, “I know you don’t believe this and I honestly can’t blame you but I would do anything for you” he had to fight the urge to touch her face, to kiss those lips that he never could get enough of, that the feel of had haunted him for years and always would.
Elizabeth smiled softly, her eyes informing him of her disbelief in his sweet statement, “That’s nice” she tapped him on the shoulder, “Good to know” she switched her attention to the calm ocean and began to drink her beverage once more.
He clenched his hands into two tight fists, pressed his lips tightly together and tried to fight the overwhelming erg to grab her tiny shoulders and shake some sense into her. Shake her tiny body until she realized that what he said was the truth, always had been and always would be, “God damnit Elizabeth!” He stood up from the cushiony chare and began to pace back and forth like a tiger locked up in a small cage, “What do I have to do!” he shouted on a rage, “What do I have to say for you to believe me, believe that I’m sorry, to believe that I want to be with you more than anything in this world. That I’ve always wanted to be with you!” he came to a stop in front of her, his chest rising in falling rapidly from his raged breaths.
But she didn’t even look at him, she just kept her eyes fixed on the calm seemingly wave less ocean as the cruised along it. As if he wasn’t even there, as if he hadn’t even spoken, “Do you remember?” she spoke calmly, void of any type of emotion, “Do you remember when we were kids, how I was always the odd man out”
Jason’s blood coursed through his body at a dangerous force, his fury rising even more by her calm behavior, by her act of ignoring the words that were so difficult for him to speak, “Eli-“
“Because I do!” she spoke over his rage full attempt to say her name, “I hated it, always did even though most of the time I pretended not to care, pretended that was the way I wanted it and when you began to pay attention to me. When the great almighty Jason Q acknowledged that I was alive” a soft smile possessed her lips, her features hinting that she was back in a wonderful memory of that summer when Jason Morgan and Elizabeth Webber were born, “It was wonderful” she said sadly, “It made me feel so….so happy and I thought now, now I have a friend…..a friend that loves me for me that didn’t care that I wasn’t popular, or liked very much and it that was a big deal for me” she shrugged her shoulders, the promise of tears stung her eyes, “I mean my own family didn’t care about me, didn’t even pretend to love me and here was this beautiful boy willing to give me what my own blood refused to” she placed the bottle on the floor, the clanging sound of the glass hitting the floor of the boat fluttered through the air, “And then for no reason at all you took it away” a bitter chuckle escaped her glossy rosy lips, “It was the most beautiful and precious thing I had in my entire life and you took it away without any warning….without any remorse” her bottom lip began to quiver with the old feeling of heartbreak making a special appearance.
Jason shook his head, rubbed his throbbing forehead and said her name on an exhale, “Elizabeth” he shook his head, “have you not listened to a word I’ve been telling you, have you not listened to anything”
“Oh yes I know” she nodded her head in a mocking manor, “you were afraid” she spat out bitterly, “Afraid of what would I bring if I freed you from your horrible life” she stood up from the chair, ran her fingers through her the locks that were soaked in the salty ocean breeze, “Boo fucking Hoo. Tell it to someone who gives a shit” Elizabeth took a step toward him, stood on her tipy toes so she could face him directly in his cold blue hard eyes, “Because I obviously don’t and never will” she narrowed her watery blue eyes at him and spun quickly on her heels to escape him but she felt her body being pulled backwards when his strong hand gripped her shoulder. He spun her around, her chest smacking against his.
“Liar” he sneered through clenched teeth.
Elizabeth attempted to jerk her arm away from his strong hold, “Let go of me!” she shouted as she continued to struggle.
“Then admit it!” he shouted as he his other hand gripped her other shoulder to stop her body from wiggling, “Admit that you feel the same way I do”
Elizabeth attempted to push away from his hard chest, “Let Go!”
“Admit it!”
She lifted her chin up at him, her lips quivering with emotion, tears running down her soft blushed face, “Never”
Jason’s hands were scorching with the fiery heat from her flesh, his grip lessoned, his palms sliding against the soft skin of her arms. His hands fell helplessly by his side, his heart felt as if it had ceased to beat, his lungs felt as if it could never suck in enough air. He watched in silence, in defeat as she backed away from him slowly. The entire time never tearing her eyes away from him, she walked backwards toward the door that would lead to the yachts kitchen and when her shoulder bumped with the frame of the door it was then and only then that she turned around and went running down the narrow steps. Jason tried his best to swallow the lump of emotion in his throat, felt the moister of his eyes increasing by the moment. His body was urging him to follow, his heart was pounding merciless against his chest but his mind was telling him to stay still. Telling him that they were over with, he just had to move on and accept that he lost her so long ago.
He eyed the now empty door frame, where she was just a moment ago, “Fuck it” when it came to Elizabeth all his mind ever did was succeed in making things worst. He bolted down the stairs in pursuit of the tiny brunette that ran off with his heart so long ago.

Chapter Fifteen
Elizabeth slammed the door to her bedroom with a tremendous force, causing the paintings that decorated the walls to tremble. She stomped her way toward the bathroom door and swung it open, “Asshole!” Elizabeth flicked the light switch on, illuminating the dark bathroom. The light provided her the ability to see her full reflection in the bathroom mirror; the sight caused her teeth to clench and eyes to narrow with pure anger.
Why!?! Why on earth did she always let him do this to her, why did she always let him get to her?!?! She was disgusted at the tone of her flesh, it was red and blotchy due to her encounter with the hugest asshole of the entire world, “Asshole!” she shouted even louder than before as she turned the faucet on. Scooping up the cool water in her hands Elizabeth began to splash her face, hoping that the temperature of the water would assist in calming her down. But before her mind could have a moment’s of rest she heard the bedroom door swing open and slam shut with even more force than she had displayed just seconds ago.
Elizabeth quickly turned to face the entrance of the bedroom, the fast movements caused her soaking wet face to spray tiny droplets of water into the air. She groaned loudly and began to rub her wet eyes, “Go away!” she ordered on a thunderous roar.
Jason stalked up to her with fast pace, that once she desisted in rubbing her eyes she found herself face to face with the biggest asshole of the entire world, “Do you have a death wish?” she tilted her head back to lock eyes with him, letting Jason know that he wasn’t going to intimidate her, “Or are you just stupid?” she batted her thick wet lashes at him, mocking innocence, “I personally think it’s the latter of the two”
Jason took a step toward her, his eyes raging with anger and much to his surprise she retreated a small step. Causing the base of her back to connect with the edge of the bathroom counter. Elizabeth responded to his threatening stance by crossing her arms under her chest, “Move” she ordered strongly and smoothly, “Now”
But Jason didn’t comply with her order and he was sick and tired of her pushing him away and he had definitely had enough of all the anger she felt toward him. He dipped his large muscular upper body toward her, placed both of his hands on both sides of the counter, trapping her in place, “Hit me”
She narrowed her eyes and eyed her newly trapped situation, “Back off” “Hit me” he ordered once more, his voice smooth and cool as ice.
Elizabeth bit down on her bottom lip in an attempt to stop an endless stream of cursing words, to stop her from screaming at him. She tilted her head to the side, “What are you up to know Jason?” she dug her nails into the flesh of her arms, squeezing her chest tighter, “What trick do you have up your sleeve now?”
He dipped his face down closer to hers, his lips an inch away from hers, “You hate me” he pointed out simply as his eyes took in the smoothness of her pink soft lips.
“Damn straight I do”
“I’ve hurt you” he unconsciously licked his own lips as he observed the perfect little creases on her puffy bottom lip, “ All these years you have held on to this pain….this anger toward me and I’m done with it Elizabeth and I think your just about ready to be down with it too” his eyes shot up to hers, “Hit me….get it out of your system. Give me the pain I so rightfully deserve”
She shook her head and eyed him with disbelief, “Get out of my way” she began to push his overbearing large body away from her, but he stood still and the more she shoved him the stronger he stood, “come on Elizabeth!” he goaded her on, “Hit me!”
She fisted the neckline of his t-shirt into her tiny hands and pulled at the fabric, “Get out of my way!” her voice boomed off the bathroom walls.
Jason grabbed her tiny hands by the wrist and shoved them away, “Do it!”
“Move!” she tried to side step him but he grabbed her arm and forced her right back to that confining spot.
“Jason!” she shouted his name off the top of her lungs with force as if his name was a dirty cussword that would cut him to the bone, “I’m not going to do it!”
“Fuck this” he swore a hint above a whisper as his desperation took hold of his body, he quickly grabbed the side of her face with both hands and his lips went crashing down on hers. He kissed her but kissed her hard. It wasn’t soft or full of love, it was full of desperation with a double meaning behind it. He felt her fight against his kiss and the harder she fought the more he kept her still and forced the kiss upon her. She captured his bottom lip between her teeth and bit down hard. The taste of blood flowed into her mouth and at that moment….at that moment of the initial first taste of his life-force in her mouth she felt good….satisfied.
Jason quickly pulled away from the kiss and the moment Elizabeth felt her freedom she quickly slapped his face, “How dare you!”
Jason’s face flew to the side from the quick blow, his cheek stinging from the contact. He licked his lips and tasted blood, “Good girl” he nodded his head and began to wipe the blood off his bottom lip with his finger, “Now do it again”
Elizabeth began to shake her head, her breaths wore short and raged, “Your insane” she attempted to sidestep him but just as before he shoved her right back to the same spot but this time with force. On reflex she lifted her open palmed hand in the air and it came crashing down against his gruff cheek. The sound of her hand slapping his flesh vibrated off the walls.
He stood still for a moment, closing his eyes against the stinging pain of his flesh, “Again” he ordered on a large exhale.
Elizabeth covered her face, felt the heat of her the hand she had slapped him with against her skin, “Stop this!” she ordered as her eyes began to welled up with tears.
Jason shook his head and pulled her shield away from her face, “No, get it out. Get it all out right now” he let go of her wrists, “Do it!”
She shook her head and felt an abundance of warm tears steaming down her cheeks, “NO!”
“I kissed you!” he shoved her shoulder, demanding all of her attention, “You had no one and I made you think I cared for you, that you had me!” she attempted to look away from her but he pinched her chin and forced her too look at him, “And then I left you, I took away the one thing that made you happy back then without even a second thought”
“Stop it!”
“I treated you like dirt, I made you think I actually liked you, I sat there and let you tell me every single secret you ever had and I left you”
Elizabeth lips began to trembled, she felt rage pumping through her small body, “Shut up!” She knew what he was trying to do, but she couldn’t help falling into his trap.
“I treated you like shit! And didn’t give a fuck if I hurt you or not. Didn’t even give you a second thought”
Elizabeth shoved his body away from hers with force and smacked him right on the shoulder, her hand stung from the force, from coming into contact with his muscular arm. The moment he gained his balance he took a large and quick threatening step toward her again and the moment he did she slapped him.
Her hand began to pulsate, she cradled it against her chest. The stinging feeling caused her to wince from the pain.
Jason licked his bloody lip as his red cheek throbbed from the pain, it felt as if his eye was going to whelp up and explode. His watery eyes found themselves on the small brunette, he watched as she cradled her hand, “Let me see” it was an order but it was soft.
Her eyes slowly tore away from her hand, she looked up at him and gasped at the imprints of her hand on his face, at the red dark blood soaked bottom lip. And both Elizabeth Webber and Lizzie Webber felt their heart break…felt true remorse and sorrow for one Jason Morgan.
She wasn’t sure how it happened, but her red throbbing hand found itself in his, he smoothed it with his own touch and her lips parted when surprisingly enough he brought her red little hand up to his lips. That same hand that had just caused him so much pain, the hand that had slapped him over and over again. He brought it up toward his lips and planted the most sweet and beautiful kiss she had ever seen right in the middle of her open palm. He kissed it, kissed away the redness, kissed away the pulsating feeling and the pain…he kissed it all away.
“Oh Jason” she whispered softly as tears full of sadness began to slip down her thick brown lashes, “I’m so sorry” her watery eyes taking in the state of his beautiful face. She stood on her tiptoes and pressed her sweet warm lips against the throbbing hot cheek that had suffered the abuse of her anger. And kissed it.

Chapter Sixteen
Elizabeth felt his muscular arms pull her in for an embrace, she didn’t fight him. Truth was she was sick of fighting him, sick of feeling this heavy load of anger toward him. The heat from Jason’s warm comforting body seeped through the thin fabric of her sundress. It swallowed her whole and Elizabeth enjoyed every moment of it. Enjoyed feeling his heart beat thump against her chest, feeling his addicting warmth and inhaling that scent, of the ocean breeze, that had found a home on his delicious skin. She snuggled her face into the crook of his neck, her lips grazing the soft flesh.
“I love you” he whispered the true words softly into her ear.
She bit down on her bottom lip, the act accompanied by the closing of her eye lids. Elizabeth tried very hard to erase the three words he had spoken form her mind, to trick herself into thinking that the words were just a product of her imagination. The feeling of his warm breath fluttering against her cheek, caused a reaction in her body to arise….a reaction that wasn’t welcomed. And the sound of his wet lips planting a sweet kiss on the crook of her neck rang in her ears causing her to slightly dig her fingernails into his back.
The beating of her heart quickened as his lips captured her earlobe, and an agonizing urge began to build in-between her legs. Elizabeth quickly squeezed her inner thighs together in order to stifle the over whelming feeling, in an attempt to not succumb to the need to feel his touch.
Jason’s large hands slid down her back and claimed her tiny voluptuous hips as their own. He gently lifted her tiny body up on top of the bathroom counter. Elizabeth didn’t break the embrace for a single moment, she still kept her face berried in the crook of his neck, her arms safely wrapped around his broad shoulders. Jason tried to pull away, tried his best to create a tiny bit of distance so he could kiss those lips, and that neck that his lips were craving to taste. But she wouldn’t budge, wouldn’t allow him to get under her skin.
Jason’s lips tingled with anticipation, he wanted to taste her, he needed to taste her. He reluctantly tore one of his hands away from that tiny hip and pried one arm off of his shoulders. But he made sure to plant a sweet kiss on the wrist of that hand.
Elizabeth peered up at him through thick dark lashes, her eyes glossy with sexual haze. He captured the side of her cheek with his large strong hand and as he leaned in for the connection she retreated from his movements. Elizabeth leaned her back against the bathroom mirror, successfully moving out of his reach, “We shouldn’t do this”
His hand snaked around the back of her neck, the feeling of her pulse booming underneath his touch caused his spine to shiver. Jason urged her body to sit upright, “I don’t want to rush you” he replied honestly as those intense icy eyes dipped down to those strawberry lips, “Just one taste”
She closed her eyes as her mind began its battle against fighting the heavy physical attraction his closeness ignited within her body. She felt his warm breath flutter against her wet lips and his closeness caused her eyes to snap open. On a gasp Elizabeth turned her face away from his intended kiss, “No” her wish was spoken on a shaky breath.
Jason’s heart felt as if it had plummeted to the pit of his stomach, he closed his eyes and licked his rejected lips. In some ways trying to recreate what she would taste like…feel like, “I understand” he leaned his forehead against hers and inhaled deeply, “I’ll wait forever for you”
Elizabeth’s tiny delicate hand glided up his muscular arm and stopped at its intended destination. She cupped his gruff cheek and marveled at the contrast between her soft touch and his manly stubby cheek. She pressed her trembling lips together, her mind providing the courage of the words that needed to be spoken, “Jason” his name spoken on a tone full of remorse, “I….don’t wait for me” she spoke the honest words with clear hesitation.
Jason’s sandy brows drew together as he attempted to make sense of her words. His heavy lids lifted, “What?”
She broke contact between them when she pulled away and leaned her back against the mirror once more, “You and I” Elizabeth gestured between the two with her tiny soft hand, “It…..it just wasn’t meant to be” the moment the words were spoken Jason responded by shaking his head in full disagreement, “No listen to me….listen to me ok. The only kind of relationship that could actually survive between us is friendship” Jason retrieved his body further from hers by taking a step back, both hands landing on the back of his head as he shook his head, “No” his fingers twined together as he attempted to block out the point she was attempting to get across.
“We don’t work well together in that way” she pleaded, “One of us always ends up hurt and that one is usually me” Elizabeth lifted her hand toward her face and began to rub her sore eyes, “Friendship….it’s the only way”
Jason narrowed his eyes, his lips pressed together tightly, “That’s bullshit and you know it” Elizabeth’s hands fell away from her face, her eyes snapping open at the emotional bitterness that drenched his statement. Jason stalked toward her, causing Elizabeth’s body to stiffen with every movement he made, “Never” he trapped her in place by his overbearing body, positioning each hand on the top of the counter, successfully trapping her, “You and I will never be friends” his eyes shone with a mixture of anger and frustration, “No one….No one knows you the way that I do and No one will ever love you the way that I do” Elizabeth turned her face away from him, in some ways turning away from what he was saying because deep in her heart she knew it to be true. Her retrieve added fire to the fuel causing Jason to capture her chin and force her attention toward him, “Don’t do that” he warned with anger, “You want to leave….you want to continue to deny what we have…what we could have, then fine” Elizabeth’s eyes dipped down to Jason’s trembling lips, it seemed to cause a chain reaction within his body because second’s later his shoulders began to slightly quiver, “Leave…..I’m not going to make you stay” he let out a small bitter chuckle, “I don’t have to” he dipped his head closer to hers, their lips an inch apart, “And do you know why Elizabeth?”
She didn’t respond to his question with words, her emotions did it for her. Her eyes began to moisten with emotion displaying what he already knew. That no matter how hard she tired, no matter how much she begged her heart to stay away from him to deny Jason…it wouldn’t, it couldn’t.
“Because sooner or later your going to find yourself in my arms, sooner or later your going to give up fighting what we both know should be….and come to me from your own free will”

Chapter17
“Because sooner or later your going to find yourself in my arms, sooner or later your going to give up fighting what we both know should be….and come to me from your own free will”
Elizabeth midnight blue eyes hardened and with her new found rage the tears ceased, “Move” she ordered with cold resolution. That familiar feeling of loathing the man who stood in front of her, like a brick wall, began grow with every passing second. And it wasn’t because of their past that was filled with wrong doings, it wasn’t that he broke her heart so many years ago and that she had never really recovered from it….it was because he was right. It was because she knew that one fine day, no matter how hard she tried, Elizabeth would be back in his arms and it would be from her own free will. And that pissed her off, because she didn’t want to, because she promised herself that she never would. Because Jason Morgan was and would always be her Achilles Heel.
Jason stood up straight, his broad shoulders squared, his chin lifted upward, eyes displaying no other emotion but stubbornness and strength.
Elizabeth pressed her lips tightly together as she brushed passed him with fierce speed and with every step she took the rage aimed at him and herself grew. She dug her nails into her palm and stinging pain made her even angrier….made her want to hurt him as well, want for him to feel pain as well. Why shouldn’t he feel what she was?
She walked up to the night stand, her blue sparkling eyes zeroed in on the glass vase that was overflowing with long stemmed red roses and in the heat of the moment she picked it up and hurled it at the man who stood quietly in the doorway of the bathroom. * * * * ** * * * * * * Doug Copperpot rolled his dark beady eyes in complete annoyance. If he heard his boss laugh like a drunken hyena one more time he would be forced to shoot him. But at least the day was almost over and if he squinted his eyes in the right direction the Port Charles dock clearly came into view. At least that gave him some peace of mind.
He sighed loudly and wiped his sweaty brow, the hair on the back of his knuckles soaked up the fat drops, “How are you doing?” out of boredom he inquired the welfare of seasick stricken man they called Johnny.
Johnny lifted his head up off of the couches throw pillow and grunted, it was really all he had the strength to do.
Doug nodded in understanding and changed his attention toward his extremely drunk boss, Sonny and Francis. The three of them were overrun by drunken laughter and affectionate jesters that consisted of patting each other on the back, “Where’s the other one?” he asked himself suspiciously. Jason Morgan had been so quiet, so good at keeping out of the way that Doug had no idea when was the last time he saw the blond man.
He was just about to inquire Jason’s where about to a green faced Johnny when he heard a loud crashing noise from below. On instinct alone Doug jumped out of his chair, his eyes scanning his immediate surroundings, “Boss!” he said loudly over the loud drunken chatter of the three men, but Lorenzo either didn’t hear him or paid no attention.
Doug eyed all four of the men who seemed not to hear the loud clatter from below, his narrow beady eyes flew toward the entrance that lead down to the rooms of the yacht where Elizabeth was being held, “Fuck” he muttered under his breath and reached for his gun holster, “Elizabeth”
* * * * * * * * * * * Elizabeth shut her eyes tightly as the glass vase shattered loudly against the bedroom wall. Of course leave it to her to completely miss her intended target. She kept her lids closed tightly together even after the loud crashing sound no longer echoed in the quiet room and as the silence grew thicker and heavier the feeling of regret and shame made their appearance.
She slowly lifted her lids allowing her blue eyes to soak in Jason’s extremely angry face. And for the fist time in her entire life Elizabeth was actually afraid of him. Jason stalked toward her, resembling a dangerous animal on the verge of a furious attack. Elizabeth stumbled backwards the back of her knees connected with the edge of the bed causing her to fall. He quickly stalked up to her, his fast and deadly movements paralyzed Elizabeth with fear.
Her blue eyes snapped open when the simple ability to breath didn’t seem so simple, “Don’t!” her tone dripped with fear. On instinct she lifted a trembling hand to shield her face from any possible harm, “Please don’t!” she shut her eyes tightly as she prepared herself for the blows of anger to hit.
“What?” Jason spat in an incredulous tone. His icy cold blue eyes narrowed as he observed her tiny body trembling from fear, “I would never lay a hand on you!” his words boomed off the walls, his anger causing them to quiver from his wrath.
Elizabeth responded to his furious tone by whimpering loudly, wrapping her small arms around herself for protection.
Jason dove a hand into his short blond spikes; he could feel his body temperature rising by the moment, “After everything! How could you think that!” when he received another loud and shaky whimper from the small brunette Jason cursed himself. He knew better than to let his emotions get out of control, it was the first thing he learned when he began to work for Sonny. He blew out a deep breath, pushing his angry emotions deep within, “I’m sorry” he apologized softly in hopes that she would stop quivering. He hated that it was him who had caused her to feel like that, to feel so weak and scared.
Jason moved his hand slowly toward her shoulder, “I’m sorry” he repeated once more but this time with more sincere and gentleness. The moment his soft touch connected with her slim shoulder she flinched. He bit down on his bottom lip with strength to keep from shouting out a string of curses. Out of all the things she had said and the way she had acted with him this…this was the action and behavior that had cut him the deepest.
He curled the hand, that he offered to her in peace, into a tight fist and let it fall to his side. His blue eyes roaming every inch of Elizabeth, it felt as if someone had stuck him in the gut with a knife and was twisting it for pleasure, “Eliza…..” he trailed off when her sad eyes lifted toward him. Words of apologies died in his mouth as the sight of her sparkling eyes connected with his, “It’s not me” he stated the realization softly, “It’s not me that your afraid of” As his words broke through the surface all of his strength and anger quickly slipped away from his large body. He fell to his knees, their eyes lost in one another and with out words they spoke….they told a story full of horror and pain, “Some ones hurt you badly haven’t they?” Again no words needed to be uttered for conformation.
Elizabeth batted her thick dark lashes, beads of sweat formed on her forehead as the quivering began to subside. A thin strand of her silky hair stuck to Elizabeth’s damp forehead. Jason slowly moved closer to her, his large hand delicately swiped away the annoying strand, “Leave with me” he was never a man that would beg, never the type of man to force choices on another that didn’t want to be made, “Please” but at this moment in time he found himself doing what he would have never thought…he found himself begging for Elizabeth to make a choice, to make a decision, “Leave with me” Jason slowly rose to his feet, Elizabeth’s dark blue eyes followed his every move, “Let me heal your wounds.” He stretched out his hand toward her and waited to feel that all too familiar addicting touch that belonged to the tiny brunette.
Elizabeth eyed his tempting hand, her palm itched to feel his touch, to feel his touch against hers. The clear vision of his beautiful hand began to blur and when she blinked Elizabeth realized that she was crying. A fat tear dropped streamed down her soft cheek, sliding past the curve of her mouth, down to her chin where it rested for a moment, where it dangled and then that fat tear took a plunge.
Elizabeth lifted her hand and placed it gently against his, accepting his offer of freedom and happiness with all of her heart, “Yes”
Jason sucked in a shaky breath and as relief deliciously settled into his body he gripped her hand with strength. Interlocking their fingers tightly together, Jason swore to himself at that moment that no one would ever break this bond….not ever again, “I love you” he revealed sincerely on a shaky exhale.
“I…” Her mouth felt as if a desert had claimed it as a home. Elizabeth swallowed hard, took in a deep breath and revealed what she had known since she was 15 years old, “I love you too”
Then it happened, the sound of gunfire overtaking the room swallowed the vowels of ‘Love’ in its entirety.

Chapter 18 (NC-17 for language)
Doug Copperpot rolled his beady eyes in complete annoyance. He snorted loudly as he sat down in the cool comforting large lazy boy chair, he remembered when Luis bought the damn thing. At first he thought it was a waste of money, but now after he felt his large lumpy ass melt into the cushion he thought it was alright. Maybe when he got home he would buy one for himself.
Elizabeth’s growing whimpers increased, causing the unfeeling man to groan loudly, “Stop with the dramatics already”
“Fuck you” she shot back through tears as her small quivering body was hunched over a still Jason. Doug tilted his head to the side and passed the time sucking on food that was stuck between his crooked teeth. He almost burst out into hysterics as Elizabeth whispered so emotionally in Jason’s ears to open his eyes, as her fat wet tears streamed down her face, as she planted sweet kisses on the damp forehead of the man he had just shot. All in all it was kind of entertaining for him.
“Open your eyes Jason….Please open your eyes” she urged him on a low trembling whisper, “I love you Jason, please don’t leave me…not now”
Doug watched with mild interest as Jason’s eyelids fluttered open, causing Elizabeth’s breath to hitch, causing a streams of ‘Thank Yous’ to spill from her quivering lips. Doug wasn’t surprised that the man wasn’t dead, well….for now he wasn’t dead, truthfully he was aiming for the heart when he entered the room but damn it…he missed and hit the shoulder. When they got off this boat his ass was going back to the firing range, he was in dire need of practice.
Jason groaned loudly when Elizabeth applied pressure to the bloody wound. Doug did take some pleasure in the amount of blood that was seeping through his handiwork. Hmm, maybe he would bleed to death and save Doug the expense of an extra bullet? He could only hope.
“It’s….It’s a scratch El…Elizabeth” Jason struggled to reassure the tiny brunette who was clearly panicking, “Don’t worry….it’s just a scratch” He lifted his hand and brushed a curtain of silk brown hair behind her ear.
The intimate gesture caused the urge to retch arise in Doug, “What an idiot” the insult spoken on a large exhale. Try as hard as he could Doug found himself actually feeling sorry for the weak idiot. Damn it! He was way too nice, it was actually one if is greatest down faults.
Elizabeth closed her eyes to the insult, grinding her teeth, “Shut. Up.” Her eyes snapped open and drifted to the ceiling of the room, she silently hoped for the other occupants of the yacht to enter the room. Luis’s men where outnumbered by Sonny’s and she doubted they would be happy with the site of the right hand man on the floor bleeding.
“Don’t even waste your time lovely one” Doug rested the hot gun on his thigh, “If I would have shot him on deck it would take an hour for all of them to notice. Not only are they drunk as shit but the engine is fucking loud”
Elizabeth mumbled a curse and rested her attention on Jason, she had to figure out a way to get him out of here before Doug finished what he started. Her soft brown eyes connected with his crystal clear blues. God, he was beautiful…and she almost lost him…she almost lost him all over again. So much time was wasted, because of him and because of her. If they got out of this situation alive she was going to make sure that no more time was ever wasted. Elizabeth wanted to wake up in his arms every morning and fall asleep in them every night. She wanted to rest her head on his chest and spend lazy days just listening to the beautiful tempo of his heart beat.
“I love you Elizabeth”
She smiled softly at him, a tear streaming down the bridge of her nose, “I love you too”
“OH PLEASE!” Dough shouted out, “Look” he shot up to his feet, “I feel that it’s my civil duty to tell you what’s what before I kill you” a smug grin spread his lips, “Little Elizabeth over here, would have never left with you. Isn’t that right Elizabeth?”
Elizabeth whipped her tear stained face, unknowing smudging her face with Jason’s blood, “Shut up Doug, you dick.”
Ignoring her insult he continued, but not before mentally making a note to make her suffer for her words later on, “You see Jason…Elizabeth would never and could never leave Luis” his beady eyes gleamed with excitement, with the idea of crushing the woman’s image in this man’s eyes, “And do you want to know why Jason? Because she sold her soul to him”
“Shut up!” Elizabeth shouted over her shoulder, her mind on overdrive on trying to find an out for the situation that her and Jason were in.
“Because when she came into our lives Elizabeth had an evil evil vice” Doug wiggled his toes in anticipation, he just loved to piss her off, “Why don’t you enlighten your lover on what that was Elizabeth”
Jason slightly moaned from the pain, the blood loss finally taking an affect on his strength for putting up a front for Elizabeth’s sake.
“Jason, stay with me” she begged him through quivering lips, “I swear we will get out of this”
“Oh, trying to change the subject I see” Doug let out a sinister chuckle, “See Jason, Elizabeth and her friend Bre…Brenda…was it Brenda? Never mind, it’s not important. Elizabeth and her friend had this little hobby when we first met. They would go out, meet men…a lot of men. And do you know what your precious Elizabeth would do? She would play with their hearts, they both did. Get these poor men to fall in love with them and when it just wasn’t fun anymore, she’d throw them away like a peace of trash” Doug ‘tsked’ loudly mocking the emotion of disappointment, “Those poor fools” he shook his head as his lumpy ass reclaimed the comfy chair, “But you met your match didn’t you Elizabeth?”
Elizabeth pressed her soft warm lips against Jason’s pail damp forehead and planted a kiss, the pad of her thumb softly stroking his cheekbone, “Don’t listen to him” her sweet warm breath fluttered against his skin.
“See Jason, one guy didn’t take to kindly to Elizabeth’s cruel ways and decided that it wasn’t up to her to decide when his use was up. He began to follow her, began to call her almost every hour on the hour, leaving threatening messages, thrashing her car, breaking into her apartment, and even destroying all her paintings right before one of her openings. As you can well imagine this didn’t sit too well with your princesses Jason. It scared the hell out of her.” Doug gripped the butt of the cool metal steal of the gun, his grin stretched out from ear to ear. He was excited for his big final, “She comes to us for help, comes to her good old powerful friend Luis for help. Of course, the idiot is smitten by this girl and he accepts…under one condition. She can never leave him….well as long as he wants her to stick around.” Doug sighed loudly, rubbed the side of the cool medal gun against his hot cheek, “She refused, didn’t like people telling her what to do and guess what happens next in our little story?”
Elizabeth bit down on her bottom lip, blood dripping into her mouth, “Shut…shut up…please?” she begged softly.
Doug just laughed at her, he enjoyed watching her suffer…watching her become terrified by his words, “The guy gets a hold of her, keeps her locked in a room for days, beats her….raped her over and over again”
Elizabeth closed her eyes as her head hung low in defeat, her body betrayed her and let out a small whimper. Jason’s cold clammy hand went up to cup her cheek, her eyes fluttered open form the gentle contact. Their eyes connected, her heart broke as she witnessed his eyes brimming with tears, his sorrow for her clear on his face, his heart breaking for her clear in his sad eyes.
“Well, Luis had the city turned upside down looking for his precious girl and….we finally found her, finally found him. And when we rescued her she wanted the man dead. Wanted the man to pay for what he had done. Of course we would do it with pleasure but under one condition. That same old condition from before and this time…this time she agreed. Didn’t you Elizabeth?”
She inhaled a sharp breath and cursed at him on a quick exhale, “Fuck you Doug”
“And if she ever leaves, if she ever tries to runaway, her best friend dies. She will pay for Elizabeth’s actions with her life” Doug groaned loudly as he stood up from the chair, damn he was getting old, “And Elizabeth would never do that, she loves Brenda way to much for that. So my friend….your death, your pain is all in vain” he cocked the gun and pointed it at the couple positioned on the floor, “She would have never left with you and she doesn’t love anyone else but herself and that bitch friend of hers” he jerked his gun slightly to the left, “Time to move sweetheart”
Elizabeth turned around to face the man, making sure to shield Jason with her body, “No. If your going to kill him your going to have to kill me first” her eyes narrowed at the bastard, her position was locked.
Doug sighed loudly, “Why do you have to make everything hard on me?” He stalked up to the tiny brunette, his jaw ticking with rising anger, “Stop being such a selfish bitch and let me put the man out of his misery” he reached for her, fisting a lock of hair in his massive hands. Yanking the girl to her feet. Elizabeth shouted out of pain and began to struggle against his hold, Doug didn’t even flinch as he began to drag her away from Jason. She saw her opportunity through the fog of pain and began to reach for the gun. Doug jerked it away from her hold and when she noticed a perfect shot opening up Elizabeth took it boldly. She closed her tiny fist, closed her eyes against the jerking of her head and punched him right in the Adams apple.
Her eyes snapped open at the loud sounds of Doug gasping for air, on reflex he dropped the gun and let go of her. His hands quickly began to claw at the pain radiating from his throat. Elizabeth quickly bent down and retrieved the gun. She pointed it at the man who was expelling dry hacking coughs from his body and pulled the trigger.

Chapter 19
Luis Alcazar’s bladder stung from the building pressure. He visibly winced when he rose from his chair, quickly excusing himself from the presence of his guests. He needed to visit the bathroom terribly. He shut his eyes against the swaying motion of the boat, Luis honestly was not sure if the swaying motion was coming from the back and froth dance of the ocean or from his extremely drunken state. He braced his hands against the narrow stairwell of the yacht, stumbling on the last two steps that direct him directly to the lower deck.
His foggy eyes narrowed when he noticed Elizabeth’s bedroom door wide opened, “I thought I locked that” Luis lazily leaned his shoulder against the narrow hallway for support as he moved closer to the room. The sound of quivering sob’s peaked through the loud noise of the yacht’s engine, growing louder with each step.
As his brown eyes took in the bloody scene before him his body rejuvenated with a shot of adrenaline. His mind quickly sobered up as it began to asses the serious situation.
Elizabeth’s small body quivered while a thick puddle of dark red blood pooled around her. She dipped her fingers in the thick hot liquid as endless tears ran down her cheeks, “I….I killed him” Elizabeth rubbed her fingers together, the smear of dark red grew bigger, “I killed him” her shaky voice reiterated as if it needed to in order for her mind to processes what she had done.
Luis’s wide eyes dipped down to the lifeless body of Doug Copperpot. He could only assume that the bullet hole in his throat was the main source of all the blood and that the gun that lay beside the pale man was the weapon that lead to his demise.
“I’m a murder” Elizabeth’s statement was followed by a loud and torturous sob, “Oh my God….I’m a murder”
From the corner of Luis’s eye he saw something moving, his head snapped toward the being who was crawling on the bloody floor. It was Jason Morgan, blood was dripping from his shoulder, his complexion growing rapidly pale with ever passing second. Luis knew, unfortunately, his wound wasn’t serious and unless something else was done Mr. Morgan would live to see another day.
“Elizabeth” Jason called out to her but she didn’t hear him….she didn’t see him. All she could see was Dough’s lifeless dark eyes….only Doug’s blood that was dripping from her fingers, “Elizabeth” he called out to her again as he crawled closer to her, wincing from the pain that radiated from his wounded shoulder, “Please?” he begged weakly, “Please, look at me for a second”
But she didn’t
“Elizabeth” he called out to her with more strength, “I need you to get up…I need for you and me to leave here at once…before someone sees”
Alcazar’s shock melted away immediately and his life saving characteristics of being the head of a Mob family kicked in. They didn’t call him the Mafioso with a heart of ice for nothing, “Too late for that Mr. Morgan” the mask had slipped into place. Alcazar pasted a cunning grin on his face as he entered the room, radiating such strength….it even surprised him.
Elizabeth noticed then….the thick scent of his cologne burned her nostrils. Her tear drenched face slowly lifted toward Luis. Her bottom lip quivered as the feelings of shock and regret were replaced by overwhelming fear, “Luis” his name fell from her shaky lips as if she was begging for mercy, “I…I killed him”
Luis Alcazar dug his sweaty hands in the pocket of his pants and rocked on his heels, “I can see that sweetheart” He jutted his chin out toward the dead man on the floor, “Nice shot by the way”
Elizabeth’s eyes welled up with moisture, “I…I never thought I would be capable of…of taking someone’s life”
Jason’s frantic blue eyes drifted to the black revolver that rested in a pool of blood near Elizabeth, he had to get that gun without setting off Luis and in order for that to occur he needed Elizabeth’s help, “It was either us or him Elizabeth” he slowly reached for her, the touch of his skin upon her cold shoulder claimed her attention, “You saved my life” his voice was gentle and full of caress.
Her blue eyes widened for a moment, memories of Doug’s gun pointing at Jason’s wounded body broke through the fog. And for a moment Elizabeth’s inner voice reassured of his well-being….that he was in fact going to live to see another day. Her lips parted and she expelled a deep breath full of relief, “You’re ok” the corner of her lip curved upward, “You’re ok”
Alcazar sighed loudly as he witnessed the exchange between the two, “But Doug’s not” he made a loud tsk sound, “And someone’s going to have to pay” Damn straight someone was going to pay, he was the best man on his pay role, “Judging from the hole in Mr. Morgan’s shoulder I would have to assume that my love shot dear old Doug in retribution” He took a step toward Elizabeth, the tip of his Italian leather shoes soaked up the warm red blood, “The question on my mind is….Why did Doug shoot Jason?” he flashed a sinister grin toward Elizabeth, “I did my research before we came here….I knew who Jason Morgan was and what he meant to you before we landed in this boring little town. Doug was instructed to take action toward Mr. Morgan only if he was touching you in a manor that I wouldn’t agree with….I can only imagine what scene Mr. Copperpot must have stumbled upon before he shot Jason”
Elizabeth swallowed a ball of emotion, “Luis” she interjected but was quickly silenced when he continued to ramble.
“Then again, he was adamantly instructed to take action away from your precious eyes….and from the looks of it he did not” Luis shrugged his shoulders as if he hadn’t a care in the world, “So…he got what he deserved”
Jason’s instincts kicked into full gear, “Elizabeth give me the gun” he ordered with no hesitation, the alarming feeling of doom was rising with every moment.
Elizabeth’s blue eyes snapped toward the black weapon that was swimming in the warm pool of blood. She made her move.
“Elizabeth!” Alcazars voice rose with warning, “Who will pay?” his brown eyes narrowed at the disheveled brunet who was clutching the bloody gun in her hand. His sinister grin made her spine shiver and it didn’t take long before the name he was about to speak ran rampant in her mind, “Bre…Brenda?”
Jason couldn’t draw a breath, the increasing scent of death was filling the room, “The gun, Elizabeth”
But she didn’t hand it to him, her grip around the black medal strengthen into a strangling state.
“Brenda” Alcazar let out a small chuckle, he pulled out a small black cellular phone from his pocket, “One call is all it’s going to take and your precious friend…is dead”
Elizabeth shot up to her feet, “No!” she begged frantically, “Please, don’t!”
“Then come to me and give me the gun”
“Don’t Elizabeth!” Jason struggled in an attempt to a standing position but the massive loss of blood he suffered took a huge toll on his body, “Don’t do it” he pleaded with her through heavy breaths.
Luis arched a black brow, “Tick Tock” he goaded, “Make a decision…”
Elizabeth cradled the bloody gun against her flat stomach. She could kill him…She could shoot him and all would be well. Her eyes dipped down to the gun in her hand as she mentally urged herself to point the gun in his direction and pull the trigger.
“Don’t even think of it” Alcazar pushed back the stinging pain his heart felt when he noticed the murderous intent in his loves eyes, “If I die....they know what to do and it will be a long and torturous death for your friend…do you really want that Elizabeth?”
Her body began to tremble with feelings of loss, “No” she whispered defeated. She took a step toward Luis, Elizabeth could hear Jason pleading with her…telling her not to do it…but she had to. She couldn’t allow Brenda, the only person who cared for her…the only person in the world that showed her nothing but kindness and love to die because of her.
Luis outstretched a hand toward Elizabeth’s quivering form, “promise me you won’t hurt him” her eyes twinkled with fat warm tears, “Promise me you won’t hurt Jason and I’ll leave with you….I’ll give you this gun and never look back…Never utter his name”
Luis wiggled his fingers impatiently, “You have my word”
“Say it” Elizabeth demanded.
“I will not harm Mr. Morgan or send anyone else to harm him” he offered her a cocky grin, “Is that enough for you princesses?”
Jason furrowed his brow, the droplets of sweat streamed down his ghost like face, “Elizabeth…”
She hung her head low in shame….this was for the best, this was the only way that no one she loved would be harmed, “I’m sorry Jason” Elizabeth handed Luis the gun.
The moment the metal object was in his possession he snatched Elizabeth up in his arms, his quick movement startled her causing her to scream loudly. He pressed her tiny body firmly against his and once he knew, without a doubt that his grip was secure he pointed the gun at Jason.
“You promised!” Elizabeth shouted as she began to claw for freedom.
Luis increased his grip around her waist successfully trapping her arms between her body and his. She responded by biting down on his shoulder causing him to shout out in severe pain, “Don’t be so naive!” he shouted like a madman, drowning out her sobs full of terror, “You think I would let this man live! You think I could live knowing that the man you truly love is out there and waiting for you!” he cocked the black revolver and narrowed his eyes at Jason, ignoring the feel of Elizabeth’s teeth digging deeper into his shoulder.
The taste of his blood caused her eyes to shut, Elizabeth began to wiggle in order to get her arms free, she moved as if possessed by a demon. But it all stopped, the madness, the taste of blood …everything stopped….the moment a gunshot boomed off the bedroom walls.
Then…then it was only silence. She felt her body become free from Luis’s hold and stumbled backwards. Her lid’s pealed open and for a moment the only thing she could feel was confusion…that was until a burning sensation came from her stomach. It felt as if something had bit her.
Her brown brows drew together as her eyes dipped down to the increasing bloody stain on her dress, she poked the painful area with a finger and felt a hole, “Oh my God…” her eye’s drifted up toward Luis, taking in his increasingly pale complexion, “You shot me” Elizabeth stated softly, “You…shot me”

Chapter 20
Her brown brows drew together as her eyes dipped down to the increasing bloody stain on her dress, she poked the painful area with a finger and felt a hole, “Oh my God…” her eye’s drifted up toward Luis, taking in his increasingly pale complexion, “You shot me” Elizabeth stated softly, “You…shot me”
“Elizabeth” Jason cried out to her, the state of panic threatened to suffocate him.
Luis swayed a bit as Elizabeth weakly began to fumble backwards, he felt his grip loosen on the gun causing it to fall to the ground. The loud clatter of medal hitting the cool tile floor didn’t startle a single soul. He felt tiny beads of sweat beginning to cascade down his ghost like face, “No” he squinted his eyes at the room that seemed to be darkening with every passing second, “No, I didn’t shoot you” he confessed. Luis never had the chance to pull the trigger at his target.
He felt a thick warm liquid dripping down toward his waist, it trickled down his legs seeping out beneath his pants. It was red…the dark color began to soak through his black Italian leather shoes….it was his own blood. It had been him who was shot, it had been him who was a target and it was him who was not going to live to see another day.
And then suddenly, he wasn’t sure how or why it was so quick that it barely registered in his mind but he was laying on the floor. A pool of his own blood began to surround him…it felt as if it was swallowing him whole…and then everything just stopped and Luis Alcazar’s world turned dark, dark and cold.
Elizabeth hutched over as the pain began to grow into an unbearable state. Her hands clutched at the wound, the blood seeped through her fingers, “He’s…He’s dead” the words came out on a heavy breath. The room began to spin out of control and her legs lost all ability to function. She felt her body tumbling backwards but instead of feeling the hard floor beneath she felt a pair of warm strong arms.
She squinted at her savior for a better look, “Johnny?”
“Fuck!” the man shouted out of frustration as he gently laid the young girl on the floor, “I didn’t mean for any of this to happen” his voice trembled with sorrow, “I came into the room and reacted as quick as I could” his brown eyes frantically snapped up to Jason. The wounded man quickly began to push his friend away from Elizabeth, “Jason I swear” he begged for understanding, “He was going to shoot you….I just shot him before he could kill you. I never thought the bullet would go through him and hit her as well” his strong hands began to shake as he stood to a standing position, “I’m so sorry…I’m so sorry”
“Johnny!” Jason shouted as he began to frantically inspect Elizabeth’s wound, “You need to calm down. Go get Sonny and Francis now!” His lips turned into a deep frown when the seriousness of Elizabeth’s wound was realized.
She whimpered softly, “Jason?”
Jason tried his best to give her a reassuring smile, a smile that would tell her all would be alright but in reality it wouldn’t be. He gently swiped away a strand of hair away from her forehead. He couldn’t help but cup her face, Jason needed to touch her…to touch that soft skin that was rapidly growing cold and clammy. His bottom lip began to quiver and he cursed the tears that were welling up in his crystal blue eyes because they impaired the vision of her beautiful face.
“Are…are you alright?”
He nodded his head, the thick ball of emotion that was lodged in his throat made it nearly impossible to speak.
She smiled softly, knowing that Jason would go on…knowing that Brenda would go on. That’s all that ever really mattered to her. She winced as a sharp pain sprang from her wounded stomach, it was reminding Elizabeth that it was still there…it was still going to be the cause of her end, “It hurts” she whimpered softly, “Jason…it hurts so much”
Jason quickly reacted by removing his t-shirt, bunching the cotton fabric into a ball. Elizabeth groaned loudly when he pressed the fabric against her bloody wound. This was the time for him to behave like a man….to behave like the man that she always wanted…who she always loved. He swallowed the fears and desperation that were preventing him from speaking, “This is going to slow down the bleeding” he explained, “Your going to be alright, I’ll take care of everything” His words of assurance were completely selfish, hearing them said out loud…hearing the promise come to life from his own lips made him feel as if the they were true…without a doubt she would be ok because he said so, because he would give up his own life in order for it to be true.
Jason heard frantic footsteps grow louder as Sonny, Francis, and Johnny approached. He reached for one of Elizabeth’s hands and entwined their fingers, a symbol of their love and strength. Jason planted a sweet kiss on the back of her knuckles before looking over his shoulder at the three men who had just entered the murderous scene.
Francis’s brown eyes frantically took in the scene, the two dead bodies lying in their own blood proved to be too much. He quickly rushed to the coroner of the bedroom and emptied out all the contents in his stomach.
“Jesus” Sonny whispered with horror.
Francis clutched at his ailing stomach, one hand whipping the evidence of his regurgitation, “What the hell happened?”
Sonny shook his head, still in a state of shock, “The beginning’s of a goddamn war” The sinking truth that the head of a one of the most powerful mob family was lying dead in a pool of his own blood struck Sonny with force. He knew the rules, no one was suppose to take the life of a mob boss without making months and months of trying to come to a solution to the so called problem…without bringing in a third party to play mediator. It was the way things were done, it was the way things had always been done. Also, the fact that Luis Alcazar made no intent on stepping on Sonny’s boundaries was going to make the entire situation a fucking blood bath. This wasn’t going to be taken likely amongst all the families. Suddenly the room began to reek with the smell of death…their impending deaths.
“Sonny” His name falling from Jason’s quivering lips gripped his attention. His brown eyes connected with his young enforcer’s blue ones. He almost gasped at the sight of pent up tears accumulating in the young man’s eyes, “I need to get her help as soon as possible” the corner of his lips turned into a deep frown, “I don’t know how much longer she has”
Sonny nodded and was surprise to feel his beating heart ache for the young Elizabeth, “I’ll take care of it” he promised. He turned his attention to the two men who stood silently in the doorway, “Get the life boat in the water right away” The two men disappeared to complete their task the moment it was given. Sonny began to exit the room while reaching for his cellular. It was time to call in a favor from his good old friend Bobby.
Jason’s eyes snapped open when he noticed Elizabeth’s eye’s had closed, “Come on, Elizabeth” he frantically began to place desperate kisses on her cold clammy cheek, “You need to wake up for me” a low sob escaped his body as he urged her eyes to open, “Please?” he began to lightly tap her cheek, “Please, wake up”
When her eyes fluttered open his large shoulders trembled with relief. Jason tightened his grip around her hand and pressed the back of her knuckles against his chin, “You need to stay awake…ok?” his voice was so dripped with heartwarming gentleness.
“I can’t” Elizabeth sobbed weakly, “I’m just so tired” It didn’t even hurt anymore, the pain was gone but the blackness that was threatening to consume her was so strong.
“You need to hold on” he used his free hand to cup the side of her face. She wanted to smile when she felt the pad of his thumb gently stroking her cheekbone.
“Please don’t leave me” he expelled a deep breath as a fat warm tear streamed down his face, “Not now”
Elizabeth’s weak body trembled as a loud sob bursted from her lips, “I’m so sorry”
“Don’t you do that Elizabeth” Jason bit down on his bottom lip with strength, in hopes to make it stop quivering, in hopes to feel just as much pain as she was, “Don’t you give up on me”
Her lids felt as if they were being weighed down with sandbags, “Their closing by themselves” she whispered softly.
“Hey” Jason quickly whipped away any evidence of tears from the corner of his eye, “Remember that night at Marco beach…the night it all began” he tried his best to keep her mind away from the darkness, away from the eternal sleep that was calling for her, “Are you wishing on a star?” Jason recalled the first words he spoke to Elizabeth on that night when his heart became fully hers.
Elizabeth smiled softly at the memory, “What are you doing here?” she recalled the exact words of that conversation with ease. She should have, it replayed in her mind thousands of times over the years.
Jason felt a little hope blooming in his breaking heart, “I had to get away for a while” her foggy eyes connected with his, “guess what?.....I’m going to get a tattoo”
“Where?”
He pressed the back of her hand against his pounding heart, “Here”
She licked her cold dry lips, her eyes began to overflow with warm tears, “What is it going to look like?”
Jason ran his trembling fingers through her silk soft hair, his voice cracked with emotion, “It’s…It’s going to say JM….Jason Morgan”
“Who…” she pressed her lips together tightly as the tears freely fell, “Who’s Jason Morgan?”
Jason bent his head down slowly, his lips an inch away from hers, “Me” his warm sweet breath fluttered against her lips, “I’m Jason Morgan” he licked his lips right before they connected. He savored the feel of her against him, the dooming feeling that it just might be for the last time.
Jason slowly pulled away from their too brief connection. He begged for the tears to cease, he begged for his eyes to clear so that he can have one moment of clarity to look at the face of the woman he loved, “I hear by proclaim you Elizabeth Webber” he cleared his throat as his eyes connected with hers, “ No longer will you be referred to as Lizzi. You are Elizabeth, a cute, funny and intelligent woman”
Elizabeth tightened her grip around Jason’s hand, “She’s going to be beautiful”
“He’s going to work on Motorcycles and cars”
“Elizabeth Webber will move to France”
“Jason Morgan will travel Europe, see the world and then he will meet up with his famous artist friend Elizabeth Webber in Paris” A fat tear streamed down his cheek. Elizabeth lifted her hand and swiped it up. Palming it, letting his tear soak into her skin…it was her way of taking him with her, of letting a piece of him become a part of her, “I’d like that” she responded softly…feeling her battle with the darkness coming to an end.
“The moment Jason and Elizabeth meet again he’s going to take her into his arms and never let her go…..He’s going to marry her” she smiled softly at his description…she could see it…see it all, “They will never be parted again….Jason and Elizabeth will grow old together….they will watch their children grow and look forward to visits from their grandchildren….they will love each other more and more as the days pass…they will spend every night of their lives in each other’s arms”
“Jason?” She gathered all the strength she had left, “Are…Are you asking me to marry you?”
He leaned in closer, dipping his head down low, his lips brushing against the shell of her ear, “If you’ll have me?”
Elizabeth pleaded for her body for the strength to say one more word, she inhaled deeply knowing that it would most probably be her last breath…her last word, “Yes” she thanked all the stars in heaven for allowing that simple word to fall from her lips…to let him know that a life with him was all she wanted…was all she ever hoped and prayed for in spite of it all.
Jason kissed her cheek and smiled into the crook of her neck, he lifted his head upwards to lock eyes with his future bride.
But, to his horror, they were closed.
