Chapter 26
Later that night Elizabeth awoke with a pain in her chest. She got up out of bed and release a slow breath trying to ease the pain. She walked over to her balcony and opened the french doors. A rush of warm air flooded and room and caressed Elizabeth's face. She shook her head she didn't want to think about the man who's name she uttered for the second time in her new home. She closed her eyes then reopened them looking at the mountains that surrounded her villa.
"Why do I feel you, why do I feel you Jason? I feel as though you're here with me but I know you're not. You're with your family in Port Charles getting ready to marry."
Elizabeth lowered her head and whispered softly. "I will leave this earth loving you. I just wished you had loved me or even cared about me just a little." Elizabeth takes in a deep breath.
Would have given up my life for you Guess it's true what they say about love It's blind Boy, you lied straight to my face Lookin in my eyes And I believed you cause I loved you more than life And all you had to do Was apologize...
You didn't say you're sorry I don't understand You don't care that you hurt me And now I'm half the woman That I used to be when it was you and me You didn't love me at all My heart may never mend And you'll never get to hurt me, again
No, no, no, no, no, no...
Sadness has me at the end of the line Helpless, watched you break this heart of mine And loneliness only wants you back here with me Common sense knows that you're not good enough for me And all you had to do Was apologize, and mean it
But you didn't say you're sorry I don't understand You don't care that you hurt me And now I'm half the woman That I used to be when it was you and me You didn't love me at all My heart may never mend And you'll never get to hurt me
Wish like hell I could go back in time Maybe then I could see how.. Forgiveness says that I should give you one more try But it's too late, it's over now
You didn't say you're sorry I don't understand You don't care that you hurt me And now I'm half the woman That I used to be when it was you and me You didn't love me at all My heart may never mend And you'll never get to hurt me Again
Again, yeah, yeah Again, again, again, yeah, yeah, yeah Never get to hurt me
Jason's villa
The pain in Jason's chest woke him up. He got up out of bed and release a slow breath trying to ease the pain. He then walked over to his balcony and opened the french doors. A rush of warm air flooded and room and caressed Jason's face.
"Elizabeth were are you? I know you're here. I miss you so much. Have you noticed that the light is different here than in America? I was always hoping to be the one to show you. God, Elizabeth WHERE are you? Come to me sweetheart, I swear on my life I will NEVER turn you away again." Jason ran his hands through his hair sighing in frustration.
Elizabeth's villa
Elizabeth felt a presence in her room and so did her pets as some began to growl and others whine.
"Where have you been, I've missed you." Elizabeth whispered. Steve walked quietly over to his granddaughter and stood next to her. He smiled.
"They summoned me back for a while but I'm back now." Steve said quietly. Elizabeth nodded and continued to look out at the beautiful night sky.
"You miss him." Steve stated.
"Yes, I don't want to but I do." Elizabeth sighed. Steve nodded. "Do you want to go see him?" Elizabeth turned and looked at her grandfather with a surprised look. "How?"
"Remember what I told you....you can visit in your dreams I can help you if you like."
"I can visit him and see him one last time?" Elizabeth questioned with a tear rolling down her cheek.
"Yes and I can help you. Come my child, lay down and close your eyes." Steve ordered gently. Elizabeth placed her small hand in her grandfather's and followed him to her bed. She layed down and closed her eyes.
"Now, breath deep and let go. You will feel yourself becoming lighter. Picture him in your mind." Steve gently traced his fingers along Elizabeth's hair line. Two minutes later Steve's voice broke through Elizabeth's trance.
"Open your eyes my child." Steve stated holding on to Elizabeth's small hand. Elizabeth did so and she began to look around. She wasn't in her home anymore. She wasn't sure where she was. Then turned to her grandfather with confusion written all over her face.
"I thought you said I would see him one last time?" Elizabeth questioned. Steve remained silent but lifted his right hand and passed it over Elizabeth's face. "You will." As the words passed through Steve's lips. Elizabeth's vision cleared. And there on a huge bed in front of her and her grandfather laid a sleeping Jason Morgan. Elizabeth smiled as tears rimmed her beautiful eyes.
Chapter 27
It appeared as though she was in Jason's bedroom but she didn't realize that it wasn't Jason's bedroom in Port Charles. Elizabeth slowly walked over to the sleeping man and cocked her head to the side to look at his handsome face. "Grandfather" Elizabeth stated as she kept staring at Jason's face.
Steve nodded. "Take your time." He stated as he disappeared.
Elizabeth reached out a traced Jason's strong chiseled jaw with her small fingers. As her eyes brimmed with fresh tears. "Oh Jason, I will forever miss you. I just wish I was the one to make you happy. If I had one more year I would devoted myself to you just to see you smile. To have you love me would be a gift I would forever cherish." Elizabeth's tears were rolling down her cheeks.
Jason mutters "Elizabeth" as his eyes flutter open. The two lock eyes and Jason's heart begins to pound in his chest. "Elizabeth" Jason whispers as he stares into her gorgeous sapphire eyes.
Elizabeth smiles slightly and chocks her head to the side. "You came to me, you really came to me." Jason whispered looking lovingly into Elizabeth's eyes.
Wait, your tired arms must rest So, let this moment pass
"I wanted to see you one last time." Elizabeth admitted feeling Jason's fingers tracing her small jaw line.
Wait, until the morning Close your eyes and you will see
"What do you mean? No, I'm not letting you go not ever again." Jason whispered as he glanced down at her full red lips
What you mean to me Left without a warning
"You have to Jason. Besides this is ALL but a dream. We aren't together. But I was hoping that you would want to hold on to the memories that we share. Every moment I had with you was a gift, I want you to know that, Jason."
Who knew one so big could grow so small Lighter than the writing on the wall
"Why are you talking as though we are over? We will NEVER be over, Elizabeth. You are in my blood. I LOVE YOU." Jason pulled the petite brunette closer to his face.
When angels cry, can I stand by When stones weep, can my heart sleep
"Oh, Jason I love you too." Tears came to Elizabeth's eyes. "I've prayed so long to hear those words from you but you don't need me in your life. I don't belong in it." Elizabeth admitted.
I guess I finally learned I guess I finally learned I guess I finally learned The power of four lettered word
"No I was WRONG Elizabeth you are my life. Without you I'm NOTHING." Jason swallowed hard as he tried to control his breathing while cupping her face in his hands.
If ever was a heart that long to bloom If ever was a angel it was you.
Elizabeth looked towards the floor then back at Jason. "I came to say goodbye."
So, you close your eyes And say goodbye.........good byeeee
Jason's intense blue eyes widened then he began to shake his head. "No. no I will NOT say goodbye...never goodbye." Jason's eyes began to overflow with tears and breathing in and out with harsh breaths.
When angels cry, I can't stand by When stones weep, can my heart sleep
Elizabeth leaned over and caressed Jason's cheek. "I love you Jason and I always will." Elizabeth caressed her soft lips against Jason's and gently pulled away.
I guess I finally learned I guess I finally learned I guess I finally learned
"No, Elizabeth..please don't go I need you." Jason cried. As he watched Elizabeth back away dressed in a long white gown.
Love is just a four lettered word.
"Goodbye Jason." Elizabeth whispered.
Hope is just a four lettered word.
"NO!" Jason yelled as he woke up from his dream.

Chapter 28
Jason remained awake for the rest of the night. The dream he had just had haunted him. He tried to wrap his mind around the meaning of the it. Elizabeth dressed all in white and speaking the way she did. Like they would never get a chance to be together? And the last and final thing she said GOODBYE. Elizabeth never said goodbye only "see you later." Jason rubbed his forehead then reached for the balcony doors to let the cool night air bring down the temperature in his room.
"Is it possible Elizabeth is sick?" Jason wondered as he looked up at the night's sky. Is that what the dream was telling me?
Elizabeth's villa
Elizabeth opened her eyes and smiled when she saw her grandfather's face hovering above hers. "I saw him in the dream, gramps I saw Jason." She whispered.
Steve smiled as he pushed a curl away from Elizabeth's face. "It wasn't a dream, my dear."
"What?" Elizabeth asked with her mouth slightly agape.
"I helped you leave your body to visit Jason. That was your spirit that spoke to him." Steve explained.
"But I thought in order to do that I would have to already have passed?" Elizabeth questioned.
"That's true but I helped you so you were able to send your spirit to see him."
Elizabeth let out a breath. "But he told me he loved me, Gramps are you sure it wasn't a dream?"
"Yes, but I'm sure but he thinks it was. But if I remember anything from when I was among the living. Is that Jason Quartermaine Morgan doesn't dream." Steve stated lifting one eyebrow.
Elizabeth's eyes widened at the realization. "Oh my god, he doesn't."
Next Morning
"Hola Carlo." Colletta smiled widely.
"Hola, Colletta how are you this morning?"
"I'm doing very well and you?"
"I'm doing good I just wish I could hire more men to help complete this job by December. I promised Elizabeth that it would be complete by then." Carlo stated looking up at the construction site.
"Well, maybe if you go into Rome and post the men wanted signs that would help." Colletta smiled.
"That's a good idea cause Elizabeth said over the phone that she has more plans for the town."
"That's our Elizabeth she's only been here for a month and wants to help everyone she can. She's such a sweet girl." Colletta smiled as she thought of the petite brunette.
"By the way is she coming by today? Our plan last week as to met on Wednesday or Thursday."
"That is why I'm here. We decided to meet here this morning to go into town. She wants to buy some extra painting supplies. So, she should be here any minute now."
As the two continue to talk. A very tired Jason Morgan walks up. Carlo is the first to see the younger man.
"MY friend, how are you this morning?" Carlo states with excitement.
"Carlo, I'm fine how are you?" Jason states smiling slightly.
"I'm a good today. Oh, excuse my bad manners." Remembering that Carotta is standing next to him.
"My friend this is Colletta Vendi." Carlo said smiling as he introduced Colletta to Jason.
"Nice to meet you." Jason smiled. Colletta smiled widely. Very handsome young man. If she was 25 years younger. Then a certain petite brunette came to mind and her smile widened.
"Very nice to meet you...um?" Colletta stated.
"Jason" Jason stated.
Chapter 29
"Jason. Um. Jason are you an American?" Colletta questioned shrugging off the fact that this young man had the same name as the American that broke Elizabeth's heart..
"Yes I am why?" Jason asked watching the older woman carefully.
"No reason. Are you alone in Italy or did you come to visit with your wife?" Colletta questioned.
"I'm not married." Jason admitted wondering what the woman was up to.
"AH, so since you are alone would you like to join me and a friend for dinner tonight?"
Jason's eyes narrowed as he studied the woman. Was she hitting on him? Nah. "I'm not really the best company to have right now but thanks for the offer."
"Are you sure I make the best pasta dishes and my friend makes the most wonderful desserts."
"I don't know." Jason smiled wondering how he could get out of the invitation and not hurt the woman's feelings.Already knowing that the people of Florentine tended to be pretty friendly people so inviting a stranger to dinner was not unsual. But he wanted to spend the day and night looking for Elizabeth. From that dream he had the feeling he needed to find her and SOON.
Reading his thoughts Colletta said "Listen, come by for one hour and just eat. Carlo will be there too won't you Carlo?" She stated poking Carlo's side.
"UM. yes I will be there, too."
Jason finally nodded. "Okay for an hour. Thank you for the invitation. Well, I need to go now it was nice meeting you. Oh, by the way what's your address?"
"Oh, the dinner will be at my friend's villa here in Florentine. It's 56943 Vistapointa Road"
Jason's eyes narrowed as he thought of the address and how similar it was to Vista Point." He smiled and shook his head. "What time should I be there?"
"Come at 7pm dinner is at 7:30." Colletta smiled. Once Elizabeth saw this man Jason the other Jason that she knew in America would be a distant dream. The man in front of her could make Elizabeth happy and she knew it. Besides being nice the man was drop dead gorgeous.
"I'll be there. thanks again. Carlo I'll see you later, then." Jason stated. Colletta nodded and smiled.
"Good, you will enjoy the dinner my friend I can guarantee it." Carlo stated watching Jason walk off.
Just then Elizabeth pulled up in her car to pick Colletta up. "Hey you,...you ready?" Elizabeth said smiling getting out of her car.
Jason right at that moment felt a chill and stopped dead in his tracks. He was about to turn around and tell Carlo and Colletta that he decided against dinner. That he came to Italy to find his life, his Elizabeth but something told Jason to continue walking and just attend the dinner without complaints. Besides the people were just being nice. But he got the feeling the woman was going to try to set him up with her FRIEND and that was something Jason wasn't interested in. The only person, the only woman he ever wanted was a petite brunette with curly dark hair and sapphire eyes by the name of Elizabeth Webber.
"Yes, I'm ready. Oh and by the way we are having guest for dinner tonight." Carlotta stated happily.
Elizabeth's smile fell. "Who?"
"A friend of Carlo, right Carlo?" She poked Carlo's side.
"Yes, a friend of mine." Carlo smiled widely. Elizabeth narrowed her eyes and studied the man.
"Colletta, I"M NOT...." Elizabeth began.
"It will be fun. He's nice and he's new in town....come on besides I already invited him and Carlo."
Elizabeth rolled her eyes and made a face. "You are just too much do you know this? First Vincent now this mystery guy? When will you stop?"
"When I know you are completely happy." Colletta admitted with a smile. "Your heart needs help and I believe this young man can help you heal the pain in that beautiful heart of yours."
Later that night
6:40pm. "Elizabeth, I think the brownies are done!" Colletta yelled from the kitchen.
"Okay, could you take them out for me I'm still trying to pull my hair into a pony tail and it's not working!" Elizabeth yelled from the upstairs bedroom.
"Your hair is down your back close to your butt now just wear it loose." Colletta commented.
"No, then it will be all over the place!"
Finally getting her very long mane into a ponytail Elizabeth runs trots down the stairs barefoot. Her fingers nails and toes matching her red pouty lips.
"Colletta smiles. "I don't think I have ever seen you wear shoes in the house since I've met you."
"I don't like wearing shoes I like the freedom of being barefoot." Elizabeth said sniffing at the brownies that Colletta pulled out the oven.
"Ah" Colletta smiled.
"Besides, I'm not interested in IMPRESSING anyone, so I'm just going to be myself. Comfortable in my tee shirt and ultra low riders, okay?" Elizabeth smirked.
"Of course I wouldn't expect any different from you." Colletta smiled then winked.
"STOP IT." Elizabeth demanded rolling her eyes. Just then the bell rang. Colletta looked down at her watch it was exactly 7pm on the dot. The man was prompt. As Elizabeth headed for the door her dogs started barking at the back of the house.
"Colletta could you get the door I need to find out why the dogs are barking."
"Sure." Colletta said watching Elizabeth walk towards the back of her villa. Colletta opened the door and there stood Carlo and his friend Jason.
"Good evening, gentlemen come on in." Colletta smiled moving to the side to let the two men in.
"Thank you. I brought some wine, I hope you like it." Jason smiled handing the wine over to his hostess.
"Ah, thank you Jason I'm sure we will. But my friend doesn't drink. BUT I DO!" Colletta joked. Jason smiled looking around the cozy home. It reminded him of Elizabeth's studio. So, warm and inviting. A real HOME unlike his old penthouse.
"Would you like to have a seat? My friend is in the back with her dogs so she should be coming back soon." Colletta said walking Jason and Carlo into Elizabeth's livingroom.
"Did she finally calm down that horse of hers?" Carlo asked smiling.
"He's only calm around her so yes. When she's not around he bites people. But never her."
"So, your friend has animals?" Jason asked watching as two cats eyed him from a chair.
"Yes, she has several...dogs, cats, horses even cows. She loves animals." Colletta smiled.
Jason nodded and smiled.
"She's the one that is having the shelter built for the animals." Carlo said sipping his drink Coletta had given him.
"Oh so she's the one." Jason smiled looking around the livingroom once again before feeling weird in his stomach. The paintings on the walls. Jason's chest began to tighten.
Just then he heard barking. And two dogs came running in. Then he heard THE VOICE and his heart stopped.
"BEAR come back here, PEPPER!"
Jason felt his mouth grow dry and his heart pounded in his head when he saw his life enter the livingroom in front of him.
"BEAR....Pepper...." Elizabeth looked up and her heart dropped. Sitting in her livingroom was the only man that was able to break her heart. Jason Morgan.
Jason's mouth dropped mouth. "Elizabeth?" He found her.
Chapter 30
Jason's breathing increased as he stared wide eyed at the woman that has forever held his heart in her small hands. Elizabeth stood with shock on her face. Jason was in her livingroom in ITALY. She swallowed hard as her dogs turned their attention to what their owner was staring at. Pepper and Bear began to growl at the objective of Elizabeth's stare.
"Elizabeth?" Jason managed to say again. His voice broke Elizabeth out of her trance and she began to back up out of the livingroom.
"T..this can't be happening." Elizabeth muttered. "Your not here." She watched as Jason began walking towards her. Carlo and Colletta stared at each other in confusion as they watched the two people.
"I am here. I came to find you." Jason stated moving towards Elizabeth. Elizabeth's other dog Ernie comes running into the livingroom ready to play with the other dogs and sensing the feeling in the air immediately gets defensive. Ernie bares his teeth at Jason and nips the air showing the stranger if he comes closer towards his owner he will get bit.
Elizabeth still backing up but her eyes never leaving Jason's. Stops and touches the dog's back. "Ernie, no" She commands. The dog calms down but continues to stare at Jason.
"I can't do this. I can't handle this." Elizabeth states turning around and quickly running from the livingroom.
"Elizabeth!" Jason yells about to run behind her but Colletta stops him.
"No, I'll go to her." Colletta walks quickly out of the livingroom following Elizabeth and all three of her dogs.
"WHAT just happened?" Carlo asked.
Jason turns to the man then looks back in the direction that Elizabeth ran to. "I lost my life and I'm here to get it back." He stated simply.
Carlo knitted in his brows together in confusion and looked over at the younger man but remained quiet.
Colletta reached the barn where Elizabeth was pulling Freedom out of his stall. The horse was pancing around happy to see Elizabeth even though he had seen her that very morning. Wiping her tears she waited for Freedom to bend down so she could ride him.
"Elizabeth!" Colletta yelled.
"It's not suppose to be this way! He's not suppose to CARE, why is he HERE in Italy?"
"Who?" Colletta asked wondering why her friend was so upset.
"Jason.....JASON MORGAN!"
Colletta's eyes widened. "Oh my god, that's HIM....Jason Morgan? Why didn't I see it?"
Ignoring her friend's question Elizabeth stood next to Freedom wiping her tears. "Why is he here? He should be in Port Charles ready to marry that blond stripper whore! I don't need this. My heart was beginning to heal!" Elizabeth cries feeling a sharp pain in her chest. She starts to slide down against a wall that was in back of her. Colletta runs quickly to her side.
"Oh God, Elizabeth...breathe sweetheart..breathe..calm down I need you to calm down." Colletta rubbed Elizabeth's back up and down.
Letting out a harsh breath Elizabeth tries to calm herself but it wasn't working. All of a sudden Colletta feels a breeze go pass her. She looks around the air outside was still so where did that breeze come from?
Steve kneels down next to Elizabeth and puts his hand on her chest. He caresses her injured heart. Freedom sees Steve and starts to whine.
"It's okay, it's okay....shhhh ....feel my love wrap around your heart." Steve whispers to Elizabeth. Colletta watches as Elizabeth's breathing begins to labor and become calm.
Elizabeth looks up and sees Steve smile before he leads down and kisses her forehead. She smiles. Colletta sits by her side and watches as Elizabeth stares at nothing.
"Elizabeth?....Elizabeth?" Colletta says softly trying to get the petite woman's attention. Finally Elizabeth looks at her.
"Oh Elizabeth my dear if only I had known that was him I would have never invited him. I'm so, so sorry for upsetting you!" Colletta cried wiping her tears.
"Y...you didn't know, it's alright Colletta it wasn't something you could have known."
"I could have asked him his last name...I'm so sorry." Colletta cried.
"It's okay, really." Elizabeth began to comfort her friend. Colletta looked at her friend.
"What are you going to do?" Colletta questioned.
"About what?" Elizabeth asked rubbing her forehead.
"About him? I mean he's here in Italy for some reason and I think it might be to get you back."
Elizabeth shook her head no. "I'm not what Jason needs in his life. I'm not a BIG BREASTED blond whore that strips for money and looks for men to take care of my ass! I like my freedom and that is not what Jason needs or wants."
"Are you sure, I mean he flew over 3000 miles to come here." Colletta countered.
"I'm sure. If Jason is here he's only here to find out WHY I left. He will then give me the speech about wanting me safe and that he never wanted to hurt me....blah blah blah. Then he will go back home to his family and his whore." Elizabeth stated without emotion.
"Besides Colletta, I'm dying." Elizabeth stated. Colletta's eyes dropped. "It's true, you and I both know it. That's why I left Port Charles I just wanted to finally live the rest of my time in peace.
"And you don't think you could have that with Jason....peace I mean?" Colletta asked.
"Maybe for a month or so but if you were Jason would you want to be with a dying woman? No." Elizabeth stated then answered.
"But you can't know what is in that man's heart, Elizabeth. You told me about the dream. You said he told you he loves you."
"That was just a dream, Colletta...just a dream." Elizabeth knew better and knew it wasn't a dream. "He said before that he NEVER loved me everyone in his small world told me so. Jason doesn't love me and if he thinks he does he's just confused."
Colletta looks down at her hands. "Are you going to tell him how you feel? And about your illness?"
"NO and you must not either. I don't want pity from Jason. Don't worry Colletta Jason will get tired of being here in two weeks. He will miss his Corinthos family and will leave and not look back."
"Are you telling me that you will push him away? Force him to leave you?" Colletta asked rubbing her forehead.
Elizabeth shook her head. "No, I don't have to do anything. He will do it himself. He will start to avoid me and he will leave on his own. But this time he won't be leaving with my heart."

Chapter 31
Elizabeth's livingroom
"I can't let this happen again. I can't watch her walk away from me again." Jason said walking quickly out of the room to find Elizabeth. Carlo stood up to say something but Jason's glare stop the man cold in his tracks.
Jason walked out into the hallway and looked around for any sign of Elizabeth. He peeked around the corner into the kitchen and let out a huge sigh. "I'm not letting you go this time, Elizabeth...not ever." As Jason continued to walk throughout the villa he found a door at the back of the house that was open. It lead to the backyard. Jason stepped outside and the cool night air caressed his handsome face. As he surveyed the backyard his blue eyes fell upon what looked like a barn. The door was open and the light within flooded the surrounding area. I wonder if Elizabeth is in there? As the quickly approached the barn he heard voices.
"But this time he won't be leaving with my heart." Elizabeth stated. Jason walked inside and found Elizabeth and Colletta sitting on the floor of the barn.
"Who won't be leaving with your heart?" Jason questioned. The two women looked up quickly and stared at him.
"It doesn't concern you." Elizabeth commented. Jason let out a breath and pinched the bridge of his nose as he walked slowly towards the two women. Staring at Elizabeth Jason didn't even take a second to look Colletta's way.
"We need to talk." Jason said staring at the petite brunette.
"We have nothing to talk about Jason." Elizabeth answered. The air in the barn became thick with heat. The intense look between the two people was hot enough to start a fire.
"We have ALOT to talk about, Elizabeth." Jason replied with darkening eyes. Colletta feeling a little uncomfortable started to get up off the floor. That was the only time Elizabeth noticed the woman was still there.
"No. don't leave, Colletta." Elizabeth said breaking her staring contest with Jason.
"Um. Elizabeth I don't know..." Colletta began.
"Can you excuse us." Jason stated as he continued to stare at the love of his life.
Colletta looked down at Elizabeth and smiled before bending down close enough for Elizabeth to hear her. " I understand how you feel, but you need to talk to him so you can stop running." She whispered.
Elizabeth closed her eyes tight and then reopened. She watched as Colletta walked out of the barn. Then her eyes fell upon the blue eyes of an upset Jason Morgan.
"Are you okay?" Jason asked. Concern all over his face as he stared at the very pale and extremely thin Elizabeth Webber.
"I...I'm fine, Jason is that why you are here to find out if I'm okay?" Elizabeth answered with a slight harsh tone.
Jason narrowed his eyes and studied the brunette carefully. She was lying. "Yes and no, I came to find out why you left Port Charles. And to tell you that I made a mistake."
Elizabeth made a face and blew out a harsh breath. "Are you kidding me? You came over 3000 miles to find out if I was okay and to see why I left Port Charles? If I tell you the truth will you be happy?"
Jason remained quiet and just watched her. "Fine, then I left Port Charles cause there was nothing left there for me, okay? I finally decided to see Italy on my own and now I live here. That's the story enjoy your flight back home." Elizabeth stated coldly.
"I'm not going anywhere. Besides I don't have a home."
Elizabeth's eyes widened. "What do you mean you don't have a home?"
"I don't have a home without you. The only time I felt like I had one was when you were staying at the penthouse with me. When you left you took that comfortable feeling with you."
Elizabeth turned her head hiding her tears and stared a her horse Freedom. Freedom was whining and pancing.
Elizabeth lowered her head. That is when Jason took the opportunity to walk closer to her. Jason slide down the wall next to the petite brunette and sat down. He wanted so badly to pull her into his arms and hold her close. Beg her to let him love her.
Elizabeth tensed up when she felt Jason's presence next to her. Hiding her tears she asked again. "Why are you here, Jason? You and I both know that Sonny doesn't like it when you leave town with his permission."
Jason's eyes darkened at the comment. "I don't need Sonny's permission to do anything."
"Oh, and when did this happen?" Elizabeth snapped.
Ignoring the question Jason continued. "I don't want to talk about Sonny I want to talk about US."
Elizabeth laughed slightly. "Jason there was never an US. There was a you and there was a me but never an US. That's not what you wanted."
"Not what I WANTED? You chose Lucky and then Zander!"
"YOU chose that blond whore after telling me you would TRY!" Elizabeth countered.
Jason lets out a heavy breath and pinches the bridge of his nose. In a calm voice he stares directly into Elizabeth's sapphire eyes.
"You care about someone, they care back. Make you believe you have a chance. Then all of a sudden they turn around and do this one 180. Close off and show interest in somebody else. They make you think that what the two of you had wasn't important. But it WAS. And that is what I did to you, Elizabeth. And I'm sorry."
Elizabeth looks down at her hands and closes her eyes tight trying to hold back her tears that were threatening to fall. "I don't...you need to go back home." Lifting her head to look him in the eyes.
Jason shakes his head. "Don't you get it! It's not okay for you to just drop out of my life. That is why I came to find you. I have missed you SO MUCH. I want to be with you and I want you to be with me. The way you just accept me for me. Elizabeth, of all the people that have been in my life you have never tried to change me. The way we used to go for bike rides and I would listen to you and you me. The way you care....like no one ever has before."
Elizabeth remembers her words she said to Jason that long ago night at Vista Point. The night she knew she was in love with Jason Morgan. Elizabeth lifted her small hand and reached out to touch Jason's smooth face. Jason's eyes darkened as he watched her. Elizabeth swallowed hard as she felt her heart thumping in her chest. She leaned forward as Jason cupped her face. Elizabeth captured Jason's mouth in a searing kiss. They kissed then pulled away before kissing again. Jason didn't know what to do with his hands. He cupped her face, touched her soft shoulders then cupped her face again. He felt himself getting lost in Elizabeth's kiss.
Her sweet mouth. He wanted more. All of a sudden he felt Elizabeth pull away and she got up from her seat next to him. Staring at him she was touching her pouty, swollen lips with the tips of her fingers. Breathing hard Jason watched her as she backed up and walked quickly out of the barn.
"We aren't over Elizabeth, we will never be over." Jason said tasting Elizabeth on his swollen lips.
As Elizabeth walked out of the barn and away from Jason she cursed herself. Fisting her small hands and swatching the air. I kissed him. I shouldn't have kissed him. DAMN.
Chapter 32
Colletta sat quietly in Elizabeth's kitchen sipping tea laced with rum. She was running the evening's events in her mind. That was Jason Morgan she had invited to dinner. How is that possible? Of all the people in town she had tried to set Elizabeth up with she chose the man that broke her heart. Colletta shook her head. But he must love her? He has to. Why fly over 3000 miles to find her if it wasn't love Jason felt? Colletta made up her mind right then and there. Elizabeth wanted and needed love and Jason would be the man to deliver. But if he did hurt her again, he would be sleeping with the fishes and she was going to let Jason know this. But first and foremost she needed to find out if Elizabeth was still in love with Jason. Was she ever really in love with the man? Colletta sipping her tea vowing to find out TONIGHT.
Breaking through Colletta's thoughts was approaching noise from a teary eyed Elizabeth. Colletta watched as her friend enter the kitchen wiping her tears. The sight broke Colletta's heart.
"Elizabeth." Colletta said quietly. Elizabeth walked in with her head down staring at the floor. When she didn't reply Colletta continued.
"Talk to me." Colletta added. Elizabeth raised her head slowly and looked at the older woman.
"T..there's nothing to talk a..about." Elizabeth stated trying to control her breathing.
"Sit down, sweetheart" Colletta said walking over to help Elizabeth sit down at the kitchen table.
Just then the two women were interrupted by Colletta's daughter nineteen year old Gina.
"MOM, are you ready to go home? Oh, hey Elizabeth...." Gina said outloud as she bounced into the kitchen.
"Gina, have more respect for Elizabeth's home!" Colletta snapped at her daughter.
"I..didn't...I'm sorry Elizabeth...wait are you okay...why are you crying?" Gina asked with worry on her face.
"I'm..." Elizabeth began.
"Gina, she's upset you go ahead and go home I'll be there in about two hours."
"No..don't stay because of me. Go home to your family Colletta. I'm fine, really."
Colletta and Gina both made a face. "You aren't fine so stop the crap, Elizabeth...what happen?" Gina asked.
Colletta glared at her daughter for bluntness to her employer and friend.
Gina kept her eyes on Elizabeth and ignored her mother's glare. Her mother didn't understand that that was the way she and Elizabeth spoke with each other.
"I'm just trying to get away from my past and today it caught up with me." Elizabeth explained.
Gina watched her friend and knew there was more to the story. "What happened? Cause believe me Elizabeth you can't get pass it if you don't talk about it."
Colletta nudged her daughter's side and glared hard at her. "WHAT?" Gina yelled.
"You have no right to ask Elizabeth about her personal business, Gina...you..."
"I don't want to talk about this....." Elizabeth spoke suddenly.
"See?" Colletta comments looking hard at her daughter.
"Elizabeth, you will feel better. Is it about the really cute guy I saw about 5 minutes ago walking away from your barn?" Gina asked.
Elizabeth's eyes widened. But she remained quiet.
"Oh, that's it...this is all about that guy, am I right?" Gina asked with wide eyes.
"Let it go Gina!" Colletta warned.
"Let me see if I see him....hold on." Gina ran off. "HELLO ARE YOU STILL OUT THERE?"
Elizabeth watched her younger friend run to the back door and she rolled her eyes.
"Are you trying to be funny?" Elizabeth asked with annoyance.
"No, I wanted to know if he was still around, that's all. So, seriously come on. You know you can tell me. I know I can be irritating ...."
"You're right about the last part." Elizabeth interrupted.
"Gina, you are bothering her!" Colletta commented.
"Mom, Elizabeth looks like her heart just got broken and since I'm her friend too I want to help." Gina stated simply.
"So, who was the guy?" Gina added.
Elizabeth closed her eyes and then reopened looking at the younger woman. "Jason...his name is Jason Morgan."
"Ah, okay from what I saw he's an American like you?"
"Yeah."
"He broke Elizabeth's heart." Colletta added. Elizabeth shot a look at Colletta.
"Elizabeth, you are among friends." Colletta added staring at her friend.
Letting out a heavy breath. Elizabeth nodded.
"Whoa. okay so what's wrong? If he broke your heart it's over. Just bail...forget him."
"It's not that simple." Elizabeth states letting out another heavy breath.
"No? Then how is it then?" Gina asked.
"It doesn't matter." Elizabeth comments looking down at the floor.
"No, I'm sure it does, tell me." Gina says worried about her friend.
"Okay, do you promise to stay out of my business?" Elizabeth asked simply.
"Nope, tell me anyway" Gina replies smiling.
"How I feel about Jason?..............none of your business." Elizabeth replies smirking.
"Okay......okay........you got it BADDDDD!" Gina teases. Elizabeth glares at her.
"It doesn't matter how I feel....I can't get involved with anyone. All of us in this room know I'm sick."
"Why not? Colletta pipes in.
"Because of my illness, it wouldn't be fair." Elizabeth explains.
"So, everyone gets to enjoy love besides you?" Colletta said watching her friend closely.
"Jason won't accept my illness he will pretend it doesn't exist. Besides that I don't want his pity."
"Then you need to find yourself a REAL man, then." Gina pipes in loudly.
Elizabeth looks over at her friend. "Will you please not start."
"Listen, Elizabeth if you want to mess with Morgan do it now get it out of your system."
"I don't want to talk about this, Gina." Elizabeth states rolling her eyes.
"Cause he sounds like he can't handle you or your illness like a real man could. And Elizabeth you are so beautiful, any real man would bow at your feet. So, go ahead and have some fun with him...if you know what I mean." Gina says smiling.
Elizabeth shakes her head. "I'm not what Jason needs."
"And what makes you think this?" Colletta asked.
"He pushed me away and avoided me after we both said we wanted to be together. He ran and jumped in bed with his brother's whore ass stripper wife. Pretended for months that I didn't exist."
"Ewww, a stripper? That is reaching to the bottom of the whore barrel......ewww." Gina made a face.
"Then why is he here in Italy looking for you?" Come on, Elizabeth you told me once that you didn't like people making decision for you, that you think that people should make their own choices."
"Staying away from Jason is my CHOICE."
"So, you can look me in the eye, us both in the eye and tell us that you don't LOVE Jason?" Colletta asked watching the petite brunette closely.
"Let's end this conversation, okay and forget about Jason." Elizabeth says.
"Nope can't do it. Okay, Elizabeth if Jason wants to be with you then let him. Let him know about your illness and worry about you. Hold you at night when you feel that your heart is speeding. Let's see if HE can handle you and your life. Because your illness is apart of your life and if he can't handle it he needs to leave you alone." Colletta says plain and simple.
Elizabeth shakes her head. "I already know he can't. He'll pretend it doesn't exist and I don't want to live the rest of my time like that."
"But you kissed him and walked away, right....in the barn tonight?" Colletta asked. Elizabeth's eyes widened.
"Even though we've only known each other for about two months I know you, Elizabeth."
Elizabeth looked down at the floor and sighed.
"I still say have some fun with him." Gina smirked. Elizabeth shaked her head no.
"All I want is for Jason to go back home where he belongs....with his family."
"And I we want to do is see you find love. To have a man that will accept you for you. The spunky brunette with the heart of gold deserves love." Colletta smiled sadly.

Chapter 33
Later that night
Jason laid alone in bed with knitted brows. His mind filled with thoughts of Elizabeth. Why did she say it was too late? What the hell did that mean? Jason let out a heavy breath. He never thought about the future before Elizabeth. Jason was used to living his non existence life day by day. But after becoming friends with her he started to think what if? What if Elizabeth had left town with him when he asked. What if they got married? Would their children had her beautiful sapphire eyes? Jason closed his eyes tight then reopened. Pinching the bridge of his nose Jason knew that he wouldn't be able to sleep tonight. "It's too late, why did she say that?" He said outloud.
Elizabeth laid alone in bed wiping her tears and thinking of Jason. He says he loves me. What if I wasn't sick and just let myself fall? But does Jason really love me? The stripper whore had thrown the fact in Elizabeth's face that Jason said he never loved Elizabeth. So, why all of a sudden does he love her now. It didn't make sense. Elizabeth shook her head. She had done the same thing though she lied to herself about loving Ric when she really was in love with Jason. Did Jason do the same thing? What if she gave herself to Jason again and he pushed her away like last week's garbage. Her heart couldn't stand it. If she told Jason the truth about her sickness maybe he would just leave and go back to his "family" in Port Charles. Because she would not allow him to stay with her out of pity. Elizabeth would up and leave Italy if she realized that was what Jason was doing. And this time he would NEVER find her.
Next Morning
Elizabeth got up early. She had an appointment with Vincent at 9:30am. Telling Colletta that she would go to her appointment by herself. The older woman finally agreed after arguing with Elizabeth for about 15 minutes. So, Colletta stay at Elizabeth's villa and prepared lunch.
Thirty five minutes later Dr. Vincent Mesno's office
Vincent sits behind his desk studying Elizabeth's file. "So, it appears that the new medication is working."
Elizabeth nods and smiles slightly. So, Vincent continues. "Are you experiencing any dizziness?
Elizabeth looks out the window but doesn't reply. Vincent watches her closely wondering why his petite patient is so distracted.
"I was raised by apes in the jungle. My real name is Jungle Boy but everyone calls me "BOB."
Elizabeth nods.
"Um, Elizabeth...hello?" Vincent states.
Breaking Elizabeth out of her thoughts. Finally looking at the good doctor with knitted brows. "What?"
"Well, I have been sitting here for about 15 minutes talking to myself but I thought I was talking to you." Vincent explained.
"Oh, sorry I just have a lot on my mind." Elizabeth smiled weakly.
Vincent nodded. "Would you like to talk about it?" Elizabeth shook her head no.
Vincent looked down at her file then closed it before saying anything. "Elizabeth, I hope you look at me as a friend besides being your doctor. You are welcome to share anything with me."
"Elizabeth nods and decides to take a chance. "How do you tell someone you don't even remember not loving that you're dying?" She says in barely above a whisper.
Vincent's face drops and he swallows hard. She's in love with someone? Who? Vincent shakes his head. "To be honest Elizabeth you can't think that way. Because you can believe me I am going to save your life if that's the last thing I do."
Later that night
Elizabeth spend the rest of the day at home. Her chest was hurting so she spend the rest of the day in bed. At one point she did wake up hearing Colletta's voice. Jason had come by to talk with her but Colletta told Jason that Elizabeth was taking a nap. After about 5 minutes she heard Jason leave and she went back to sleep.
10:00pm
Elizabeth's eyes popped open and looked around her bedroom. She had had a restless sleep but now she was wide awake. Letting out a sigh Elizabeth got up and walked over to her balcony and opened the doors. Breathing in the fresh night Elizabeth surveyed her land. Then her eyes fell upon her barn. A smile came to her face. Freedom, her horse always helped her sleep. A ride sounded very good. Elizabeth quickly threw on some jeans and a crop top and a pair of boots. The night air was comfortable so she decided to leave her jacket behind as she ran out the door.
20 minutes later
Elizabeth and Freedom came upon the La Bonita Cafe. The horse panced slightly and Elizabeth tickled the horse's side. The horse slowly bent down so she could safely slip off the horse.
"If the cafe is still open do you want some water?" Elizabeth smiled asking the horse.
Freedom stomped his foot as he answered his owner. Elizabeth smiled. "No problem I'll get you some. Follow me Freedom." Elizabeth said as the horse followed suite and she tied him up to a stall before checking out the cafe.
Just then Paulina walked outside with a dish towel in her hand. "Elizabeth what are you doing out so late?"
"Well, I normally go riding when I can't sleep. Then I got a taste for some hot chocolate for myself and water for Freedom there." Elizabeth said pointing back at her horse.
Paulina nodded. "Well, then you just made it. I was just about to close, so come on." Elizabeth smiled.
Elizabeth watched as Paulina reached for the door to the cafe and let out a groan. "What, what's wrong?"
"I don't believe I just did that. The door is locked and the key is inside." Paulina groaned.
"Oh no, well just call the owner I'm sure they have an extra key."
"Yes, they do but they are out of town. DAMN." Paulina growled. Elizabeth swallowed hard then smiled.
"Would you happen to have a credit card on you?" Elizabeth laughed slightly remembering the night at Kelly's when she got locked out and used Jason's credit card to try to open the door.
Paulina's eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "A credit card...for what?"
Elizabeth shook her head. "Nevermind." Then she remembered something. "Can I have the towel?"
"The towel.....um...sure." Paulina said watching the petite brunette.
"Stand back" Elizabeth ordered moving the woman behind her. Paulina watched as Elizabeth wrapped her small hand in the towel and backhand the one of the small windows in the door. The window broke and Elizabeth slipped her hand inside and unlocked the door. She then turned and smiled at a very shocked Paulina.
"Where did you learn that?" Paulina asked in shock.
"A solution doesn't have to be complicated to work." Elizabeth smiled handing Paulina the towel back.
"Well, thank you for that I would have been in so much trouble."
Elizabeth shrugged. "It's okay."
"Well, let me get you that hot chocolate on the house and the water for your horse." Paulina smiled widely.
Elizabeth smiled while looking at the floor as she shook her head.
10 minutes later
As the two women walked out of the cafe after locking the door. A man approached carrying a knife.
"YOU two back in the cafe, NOW.....just give me the money and no one gets hurt."
Paulina and Elizabeth froze and slowly turned around to face the mugger. Paulina's eyes widened when she saw the knife in the man's hand.
Remaining calm Elizabeth glared at the man. "Do as he says Paulina." Elizabeth said calmly.
When Paulina went to unlock the door to the cafe the man turned his attention to her.
"That's right do as I say." He growled. At that point Elizabeth sprung into action throwing her hot chocolate into the man's face. When he yelped out in pain. Elizabeth pulled out her switch blade and cut his arm. Feeling the pain the man swung out and hit Elizabeth in the jaw sending her hard to the ground. Just then Jason who had been unable to sleep walked upon the three people and quickly realized what was happening. Jason grabbed the guy as he stalked towards a petite woman that was laying on the ground. When Jason looked down his heart jumped. Elizabeth! HIS ELIZABETH! Jason growled and grabbed the man punching him in the gut over and over again. He then lifted the man off the ground and sent him flying backwards into a brick wall. CRACK. Is the sound that was heard. The man sunk to the ground unconcious. Jason ran quickly to Elizabeth's side.
"Are you okay, sweetheart look at me." Jason pleaded with concern all over his face.
Elizabeth blinked several times and shook her head slightly. "Yeah."
Jason let out a heavy breath. "Come on baby, come on." Helping Elizabeth get to her feet.
"What happened?" Jason asked. Elizabeth didn't reply but Paulina piped up.
"I was closing up and we were just about to leave when that man approached us with a knife wanting money. But Elizabeth threw her hot chocolate in his face, he dropped his knife and I think she cut him cause he yelled out before hitting her. Let me call the police...." Paulina rambled nervously before running into the cafe.
Elizabeth pinched the bridge of her nose. She could feel the heat of Jason's stare. "Elizabeth, that guy could have killed you what were you thinking?"
Elizabeth rolled her eyes and glared at Jason. "I was thinking I didn't want him to get us in the cafe, anything could have happened then! I handled it Jason don't worry about it, OKAY?!"
Jason let out a heavy breath. He was grateful she hadn't been hurt more than she had been.
He scanned her body for any other possible injury and noticed that her knee was bleeding.
"Elizabeth, your bleeding let me check your knee." Jason said with concern.
Elizabeth shrugged. "It's okay, it's just a scratch."
"You're bleeding Elizabeth, let me check it out and bandage it for you." Jason argued.
"I don't need a bandage." Elizabeth argued.
"Don't argue with me." Jason ordered. Elizabeth rolled her eyes and shook her head. She couldn't believe the du vuja. She could help but laugh slightly.
"Would it do any good?" She asked with a smirk. Jason smiled as he remembered the night at Kelly's when he had say the same thing to her.
"Exactly" Jason replied smiling. He then turned to Paulina. "Um...do you have a first aid kit?"
Paulina nodded as she stood in the doorway and smiled, that is when Jason noticed the broken window pane.
"Did that guy do that?" Jason growled looking back at the unconcious man.
"No, Elizabeth did that." Paulina answered. Elizabeth looked down at the ground.
Jason's eyebrows raised up and looked over at the petite brunette at his side. "YOU did that.....why?"
Elizabeth shrugged. "She locked herself out."
Jason smiled and shook his head. "What, she didn't have a credit card?" He teased.
Elizabeth smirked with one eyebrow raised. "No, besides someone told me that a solution doesn't have to be complicated to work."
As Jason helped the love of his life walk into the cafe. He smiled. "That's my girl."
Chapter 34
Paulina came quickly from the back of the cafe carrying a first aid kit to hand to Jason. Jason slowly lowered Elizabeth down onto a chair and began to inspect her knee. Elizabeth remained quiet and watched Jason closely. Jason ripped the rest of Elizabeth already ripped jeans leg to get a better look.
The gash in Elizabeth's knee was deep and bleeding badly. But the cut wasn't deep enough for stitches.
Not taking his eyes off Elizabeth. "Paulina, do you have any peroxide?" That is when Elizabeth spoke up.
"Jason, I don't need any peroxide I'm fine just let me walk it off." Elizabeth stated.
Jason chocked his head. She had to be kidding. "Elizabeth, your bleeding and that cut is deep. You can't just walk the pain off."
"Who says I'm in pain? I can handle anything ANYONE throws my way!" Elizabeth challenged.
"I know you can." Jason agreed. Elizabeth rolled her eyes.
"I need to go...it's been real Morgan." Elizabeth said as she was about to get up and away from Jason.
"You NEED a bandage so stop fighting with me." Jason ordered.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. "Kiss my ass."
"Not now but after I bandage your leg....." Jason retorted.
The ache in Elizabeth's knee made her sit back down. Just her luck. Jason comes walking up after the robber made me hurt my knee. Of all the people in town. Why him? Is some chick sitting at home on her computer typing my life up or something? Is that WHY Jason APPEARED? Bitch.
Elizabeth watched as Jason got some peroxide from Paulina. He pulled a chair up in front of Elizabeth and made her put her leg up between his. "This is going to hurt." Jason said watching the petite brunette's eyes.
Elizabeth shrugged but remained quiet.
Jason began to pour the peroxide on Elizabeth's knee. And the pain shot threw her leg.
"@#%$!" Elizabeth growled.
Jason's head shot up and look with concern and amusement. "Wow, you're developed a dirty mouth."
Elizabeth's eyes narrowed. "Go to hell."
Jason's eyes widened and he hid his smile as he shook his eyes. She is still fiesty. He always loved that about her. He began to blow on the injury to help curb the pain. Elizabeth felt a chill go down her spine and her center began to become moist.
Jason poured some more peroxide and blew on the injury again. Elizabeth shifted uncomfortable.
"Could you not do that." Elizabeth ordered.
"Do what?" Jason asked as he lifted his head.
"Blowing on my...just stop that, okay?" Elizabeth looked around the cafe. Anywhere but at Jason directly.
Jason smiled slightly. "I was just trying to slow the pain down, that's all." Her face is flushed.
Elizabeth didn't response and just watched as Jason began to clean around the wound.
He wanted to ask her why she was out so late at night. And knew when he did she would rip into him and tell him to mind his own business. But he was willing to accept it.
"Why are you out so late by yourself Elizabeth?" Jason asked holding his breath waiting for her to explode.
But it didn't come. Elizabeth was looking down at the floor. "It doesn't matter." She whispered.
Jason's brows knitted together. "What do you mean it doesn't matter?"
"What I do or don't do doesn't matter Jason so don't think about it." Elizabeth stated without emotion.
"It does matter, Elizabeth YOU matter...you matter to me. I love you. So, why were you out so late by yourself?" Jason said reaching for the bandage.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. Why was he pretending to care? "I just finished doing my lover in his wedding bed. His wife was coming home and I needed to leave before she got back." Elizabeth stated coldly.
"Elizabeth...."
"What? You don't believe you are the only one that doesn't respect wedding vows are you?"
OUCH. What he did to AJ came back.
"You wouldn't do that..." Jason began as he swallowed hard.
"Who says I wouldn't? I find different men very attractive why should a wedding ring stop me. Isn't that what men like........ WHORES?"
Before Jason could reply she continued. "A big fake breasted stripper whore that from what I heard when down on almost every man in Port Charles behind her husband and boyfriend's back?"
Jason's eyes widened.
"OUCH, you didn't know that...I thought you knew and didn't care. You were just happy she WASN'T ME. Now good night Morgan it's been real." Elizabeth smirked as she got up.
Jason reached out a grabbed her small arm sitting her back down. Taking a deep breath.
"I didn't know that the girl was cheating on me. But Elizabeth, you have to understand I don't CARE. You are the one I want the one I've always wanted!"
"BULL @#%$ and you know it. I was yesterday's trash and I still am. GO HOME Jason and leave me to the rest of my time!" Elizabeth yelled.
Rest of her time? What did that mean? "NO I'm already home I'm with you and I'm not going anywhere. DAMN it Elizabeth, I'm not bailing on us this time and no matter how much you push me away I'm going to come back!" Jason yelled back.
Chapter 35
Letting out a deep breath. Jason cupped Elizabeth's face. "I made a MISTAKE, Elizabeth a huge mistake. I wish I could undo the damage I did but I can't. But I can prove myself to you again. I can show you that you can believe in me again."
"Jason, let me ask you something. If we got together and for some wild reason we got MARRIED. And a blond bitch with huge breast started flirting with you. YOU would honestly think I wouldn't think that you wouldn't cheat on me? YOU bedded your brother's wife Jason!"
"I can't respect anything about you anymore. You're not trustworthy!"
Elizabeth's words cut him. Cut him deep. Jason breathed in deeply. Then he remembered something. "Have you ever slept with someone you didn't love?"
Those words hit Elizabeth like a ton of bricks and she sat back down. She didn't reply so Jason continued.
"I know you do and that's what I did. I lied to everyone saying that I loved Sonny's sister when I knew deep inside that I was lying. I wanted to stop the hurt from losing you but the pain never went away. So, I lied. Just like you lied to yourself about Zander."
Elizabeth's eyes were blazing. "I NEVER TOLD YOU I WOULD TRY THEN TURN AND SLEEP WITH ZANDER!"
"BUT YOU CHOSE LUCKY AND ZANDER OVER ME ELIZABETH AND THAT KILLED ME AND YOU KNOW THAT'S TRUE!"
"So, what the blond whore was PAYBACK? Is that what THAT CRAP WAS? Elizabeth growled.
"It wasn't about payback Elizabeth. I lost you. You told me that I was a stranger to you. I DIED THAT DAY Elizabeth!" Jason swallowed hard.
Elizabeth looked down at her small hands and blinked rapidly. "Don't blame me for you sleeping with your brother's wife. That was YOUR doing not mine."
"I...I'm not blaming you. It was all me I did what I did because I was hurt. I should have told you about Sonny and been honest with you. When you left me Elizabeth I lost everything that was good in my life. I love you, Elizabeth."
Elizabeth tried to stay hard but her heart began to call out. "It doesn't matter." She said barely above a whisper.
Jason's brows knitted together. "How can you say that?"
"Cause of the way things are." Elizabeth stated wanting so badly to run out but her knee prevented that from happening.
'Because you can't trust me? Jason asked trying to swallow the lump in his throat.
"And there's the whore and Sonny." Elizabeth replied calmly.
Jason let out a breath. "I thought Sonny was my family. He gave me a job when everyone else just looked at me as damaged. I will always be grateful to him for that."
"I get that. But you were going to marry his sister!" Elizabeth said making a disgusting face.
"I thought it was the right thing to do. But it wasn't. Marrying someone you don't love is wrong." Jason replied.
"But you married Brenda and you didn't love her."
"I know, GOD I've made so many mistakes. Have you ever had the feeling that some small penis little man is working his own agenda and writing your life for you? I have screwed up so much this year." Jason made a face.
"You're not the only one..." Elizabeth admitted in a whisper. Jason swallowed hard.
"How can we get pass this?" Jason asked rubbing his forehead in frustration.
Elizabeth closed her eyes tight then reopened. "We can't."
"How can you say that?" Jason questioned.
"Because it doesn't MATTER nothing matters anymore Jason!" Elizabeth yelled.
"WHY!? TELL ME WHY? Why can't we just love each other!" Jason yelled back.
"BECAUSE I'M SICK JASON!" Elizabeth countered.
"WHAT?!" Jason asked as his eyes scanned her body. As if he could see any type of illness with his eyes.
"Then let me take your home if you're not feeling well." Jason replied with a softer voice.
Elizabeth shook her head. "NO Jason you're not listening. I'm dying, Jason." Tears rolling down her cheeks.
Jason's eyes widened in shock. No this can't be. She's perfect, healthy and beautiful. "What?"
Tears rolling down her cheeks. Elizabeth explained her outburst. "I'm dying Jason. When Ric started feeding me the birth control the poison that Faith had given me was still in my system. That is what caused the embolism and my heart to stop. The birth control and poison attacked my heart, Jason and my liver and kidneys."
Jason's eyes were full of tears. They were rolling down his cheeks as he stared in shock at Elizabeth. "NO." Is all he could manage to say.
Then he found his voice. "That's why y...you left Port Charles...you came here to...?" Jason's breath hitched at the last word not being able to even say it..
Elizabeth nodded.
Jason shook his head. "No, you're not going to die. I will find you the best doctors in the country. You are not going to die...no...I won't let you!"
"No Jason I'm not going to different doctors....no Before YOU came I had accepted it! I was going to live out my time quietly. But you followed me HERE! I DO NOT NEED A REASON TO BE ANGRY WITH GOD!" Elizabeth cried running from the cafe on her bad knee to her horse Freedom.
Jason sat crying and breathing heavily. He tore out of the cafe and ran to his bike.
20 minutes later going no where Jason tore up the cliffs speeding on his bike to nowhere fast. She's dying. No, I won't let her go. Not this time. NO. A song flooded through Jason's head as he slowed his bike down.
There's always something In the way There's always something Getting through But it's not me it's You
Sometime's ignorance Rings true But hope is not in What I know Not in me It's in You
It's all I know It's all I know
And I find peace When I'm confused I find hope when I'm let down Not in me But in You
I hope to lose myself For good I hope to find it in the end Not in me It's You It's all I know It's all I know
It's YOU.
Jason held his head in his hands and for the first time since September 2002, Jason Morgan cried.

Chapter 36
Next Morning
Colletta and Gina drove up to Elizabeth's villa with the car full of groceries. As the villa came into view Gina and Colletta's mouth dropped open at the sight that unfolded before their eyes.
"HOLY CRAP!" Gina exclaimed.
"GINA! watch your mouth." Colletta ordered. Gina rolled her eyes and looked towards the villa.
"Who...who do you think did that?" Gina asked.
"I have no clue...do you think Elizabeth knows?" Colletta asked as she and her daughter started to get out of the car.
Gina shrugged. "If she doesn't she'll know now...when I tell her. I'll be right back." As she was about to run and find Elizabeth. A very handsome blond man appeared carrying three of the same items that littered the villa's porch and stairs. Gina came to a halt and began to stare.
The two women watched the man dumbfounded as he began to walk towards them. Before Colletta could speak Jason spoke first.
"I'm not bailing. Please tell Elizabeth that. And please give her this note." Jason's voice cracked slightly as his body flooded with more emotion as he handed the small note to Colletta.. That being said Jason turned and walked towards a truck that was parked by the side of the road. The two women watched as he started the truck and drove off. Gina turned and looked at her mother and Colletta turned and looked at her daughter.
"What is all this...wait do you think she told him?" Colletta blinked rapidly.
Gina looked at her mother with confusion. "Him? who is "HIM?"
"HIM...that's Jason, Jason Morgan." Colletta explained. "I thought you saw him that night."
"No, I kinda of saw him I didn't know that was HIM...HIM....oh my god."
"So, do you think she told Jason about her illness?" Colletta asked again.
Gina shrugged with wide eyes. "Maybe."
Colletta furrowed her brows. "What do you think he meant by "not bailing?"
Gina shrugged again and let out a sigh. "I have NO clue but I'm willing to bet Elizabeth would know what it means." With that Gina took off running towards the house and up the stairs. Leaving her mother in her dust.
"ELIZABETH!"
Colletta watched her daughter and shook her head before beginning to remove the groceries from the car. Gina unlocked the front door and bolted up the stairs. She found Elizabeth fully dressed and pulling her very long curly hair into a ponytail.
Out of breath Gina swallowed hard. "E.ELIZABETH!" Elizabeth looked up with a surprised look.
"Gina, what's wrong? Where's Colletta...did something happen?"
"NO, NO." Gina shook her head. "She's fine but whoa....you look like crap."
Elizabeth rolled her eyes before frowning. "Um. gee thanks a lot Gina." Jackass.
"You look like you've been crying all night."
Elizabeth's eyes darted towards the floor and she remained quiet. She had been.
"Well, you just have to see this....come on!" Gina exclaimed. Her friend's appearance forgotten. She pulls Elizabeth's small hands and yanks her up from the chair.
"See what?" Elizabeth asked as she was pulled out of her bedroom.
"You'll see....come on!"
Gina pulls the petite brunette down the stairs of the villa then suddenly turns to face her.
"Elizabeth, this is going to BLOW your mind!" Gina stated with excitement. Elizabeth stares at her young friend and narrows her eyes. She's crazy, that's it she's finally lost the rest of her mind.
Gina proceeds to open the front door and steps out first turning around quickly to see Elizabeth's reaction. Elizabeth's eyes widened and her mouth drops open. She grasps then swallows hard as she lifts her small hand to put on her chest over her damaged heart. Gina holds on to her friend as Elizabeth begins to shake a little as she looks around.
RED VASES FILLED WITH LILYS were EVERY WHERE. The porch, the stairs. They even line the path to her home.
Gina smiles as she continues to support Elizabeth. There had to been at least 100 vases.
"Oh my GOD." Elizabeth whispered before covering her mouth with her small hand.
"He.." Elizabeth began.
"Yeah." Gina answered watching her friend's reaction. Just as Elizabeth was about to speak again Colletta walked up.
"He left two messages for you."
Elizabeth blinked rapidly and stared at her friend. "What...?" The swallowed hard.
"Tell her I'm not bailing." "And then he handed this to me." Colletta stated watching her friend carefully.
Elizabeth's eyes widened even more if that was possible. He's not BAILING. Her small hand reached out to take the note from Colletta. Elizabeth opened the note. It was in Jason's handwriting.
Elizabeth,
You left me a note attached to the "WIND" when you left Port Charles. You said that you had hoped that I always feel love and happiness. That you weren't right for me and that I knew it before you did. Well, sweetheart you were wrong then and you're wrong now. I already found that love and happiness and it's in YOU. You don't think you could make me happy? Wrong. Baby, I have loved you for so long. I don't even remember a time when I didn't. Let me love you, Elizabeth. Let me love you and take care of you. That's all I have ever wanted. I told you a long time ago that I would not turn you away if you came to me so come to me. Because sweetheart I'm not going to stop coming to you.
I love you, Jason
653-4879 184 Vistapointe Road
Elizabeth's tears were rolling down her cheeks and she covered her mouth. "I can't believe..." Letting out a harsh breath.
"Well, believe it. We both saw him as he was placing the last of the red vases down. By the way what's with the red and why lilies?" Gina asked as she looked around.
"Because the Lily is my favorite flower."
"Okay, so what about the vases why are they ALL red?" Gina asked.
Elizabeth shook her head. "That's between me and Jason...it's private."
Gina shrugged. "Fine, keep your little secret then." With mock anger before smiling.
"I can't believe Jason did this." Elizabeth stated.
"Elizabeth, that boy has it BAD for you. But the question is WHAT are you going to do about it?" Gina let out a breath as she stared at her friend.
Chapter 37
After dropping off the truck Jason headed to his rented villa. With his mind filled with thoughts of Elizabeth he didn't to work on his new bike. He wanted to make sure it was in top condition when he took her for rides. Jason closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead. Anger started to build. The feeling was boiling hot as it coursed through his veins. Ric and Faith, those BASTARDS. They are the reasons that Elizabeth is sick. They hurt her. Jason wiped a tear from his eye as he continued to drive. And all he did was kiss Sonny and Carly's ass. Jason shook his head in disgust. And sleep with a WHORE. STUPID. STUPID.
As Jason approached his villa he thought of something and pulled out his cell phone. As the phone began to ring Jason waited.
"Correlli"
"Francis, it's me."
Francis' face fell. "Jason" He stated without emotion. Francis rolled his eyes. The enforcer had hurt Elizabeth badly and he had no interest in speaking to him.
"Francis, wait don't hang up."
Francis rolled his eyes again and snorted. "Why shouldn't I? You're not my boss NOR my friend so why do you think I would give a damn about anything you have to say?"
Jason swallowed. He understood Francis' attitude. He had hurt Elizabeth and Jason knew that the guard and Elizabeth were very close. Jason began to wonder how close?
"Just listen, okay? I found her Francis."
Francis' eyes widened. FOUND HER how could he have found her? Francis played dumb.
"Found who?"
"Elizabeth, I found her. She's in Italy and that's where I am." Jason smiled.
OH DAMN. Francis shook his head. He had known Elizabeth was in Italy. She had called him and told him. Hell, they speak on the phone every week. But he hadn't known that Jason was in Italy.
"Francis, I need you to do me a favor." Jason continued.
Francis' emotions were all over the place as he tried to control them. He clenched his fist.
"Jason, let me tell you something first. I SWEAR to God if you hurt Elizabeth again. I WILL KILL YOU. And you know I'm not joking. I will fly to Italy and take your life before you know it. You won't even see me coming."
Jason swallowed. He knew the guard meant it. "Francis, I'm not going to hurt Elizabeth again. My feelings for her have never changed. I know the mistakes I made but I plan to make them up to her. So, will you do me a favor?"
"Okay, as long as you know where I stand. What's the favor?"
"I want you to find Ric and Faith and REMOVE them."
Francis shook his head not believing his ears. Did Jason just order a hit on Ric and Faith?
"Um....consider it done. I never liked those two bastards anyway. But what's the reason?" Normally he would never ask why but if it had anything to do with Elizabeth the guard wanted to know.
"Is this because of Elizabeth?" Francis added.
Jason let out a breath. "Yeah, she's sick Francis because of those two worthless excuses for human beings."
"Sick? she never..." Francis stopped himself. She never mentioned that she was sick. All the times on the phone. WHY?
"She never what?" Jason questioned.
"Nothing. What do you mean that she's sick?"
Jason shut his eyes tight. "Remember when E...Elizabeth's heart stopped?
Francis rubbed his forehead and lowered his head. "Yeah" He whispered.
Jason clenched his fist. "Ric was the cause of that. He had been feeding her high dosages of birth control pills which caused the embolism."
"Oh my God. I asked Elizabeth in the hospital what happened but she didn't know. I never knew." RIC IS A DEAD MAN WALKING.
"The birth control mixed with the poison that Faith had fed her. It...it damaged her kidneys, liver and....." Jason began to tear up as he tried to stay in control.
"And?"
"It...it damaged her heart." Jason's voice cracked slightly.
Francis' eyes filled with tears. And looked towards the floor. "Jesus"
"Is she going to d..." Francis let out a heavy breath.
"I'm NOT going to let that happen. NO. I can't lose her now that I've found her again." Jason stated.
"Consider them GONE!" Jason was taken back by the guard's tone. He had ever heard such ice in the guard's voice before.
"Thanks, and Francis?"
"Yeah?"
"Tell them their deaths are an early Christmas gift from Elizabeth and me." Jason smirked with dark eyes.
"No problem, I'm going to handle this job personally." Francis stated before hanging up.
Chapter 38
Elizabeth's villa
Elizabeth's eyes widened . No she had to stay strong and stay away from Jason Morgan.
"So answer my question." Gina demanded eyeing her friend.
Elizabeth cocked her head to the side. "What question?"
Gina rolled her eyes. "STOP the crap you know what question. What are your true feelings for Spike?"
Elizabeth looked pass Gina and eyed the red vases covering her porch. "NONE of your business."
Elizabeth then turned and began to walk back up the stairs to her home.
Gina's mouth dropped open. "OH my God, you're in love with him! You're in love with Spike!"
Elizabeth turned quickly and glared at her friend. "I never said....wait, what who's Spike?"
Gina rolled her eyes. "His hair...get it? It's spikey so I call him Spike. I just made it up...like?"
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. Gina is a nut. As Elizabeth was about to walk pass her friend Gina reached out and grabbed her small arm.
"Elizabeth, do what I said before. Go to him, have some fun. Get him out of your system."
"It's not that easy."
"Why because you love him?" Gina asked watching her friend's reaction.
Elizabeth looked down at her small hands and bit her bottom lip.
"Go to him. See if he can accept your life the way it is NOW." Gina stated firmly.
Elizabeth lifted her head high and stood her ground. "I already know he can't."
"That's part of the same speech you gave me and my mom before. I didn't know if I believed it then or if I believe it now. Elizabeth, if you want Spike go for it. I mean I'll even be nice to Spike then next time I see him."
Elizabeth crosses her small arms across her chest as she stares at her friend.
"I won't even call him Spike to his face. Come on, Elizabeth you deserve to be happy and I want to see you happy. And if Spike...I mean if it's Jason then go for it."
A week goes by. Elizabeth continues to stay away from Jason. Even though Jason stops by the house almost every day to see her. Colletta talks with the enforcer a bit then Jason leaves telling her if Elizabeth needs anything to please call him.
Another week goes by.
"ELIZABETH!" Colletta yells. "BREAKFAST!"
Elizabeth comes down the stairs fully dressed but barefoot. "Thanks, oh Colletta did you call Antonio and tell him about Freedom's stall? A new one needs to be built."
"Actually it's already taken care of." Colletta answered placing the hot pancakes on the table.
"Really? That's great. Antonio works fast."
Colletta shook her head. "Actually it wasn't Antonio that built Freedom's new stall. It was Jason."
"What?"
"Yeah, he's been a great help around here. He built the new stall for Freedom and redid the inside of the barn to protect the animals for the upcoming winter. And you know that tree near the barn? The one Antonio was suppose to chop down in September? Well, Jason took care of it and chopped it down."
Elizabeth's eyes widened. "I thought I heard chopping but my medication had me in a fog. I couldn't place where the sound was coming from."
"Well, that was it."
Elizabeth narrowed her eyes and studied her friend. "Did you put him up to all of this?"
"No, I didn't. I found him in the barn after hearing noise. I asked him what he was doing. And he said he was building a new stall for your horse. That he had noticed that the old one was in bad shape. So, no I didn't put him up to anything. Anything he's done around here is by his own accord."
"That sounds like the old Jason I used to know." Elizabeth says softly.
"Um. I'll be right back." Elizabeth says getting up.
"NOT without eating something first and taking your medication." Colletta states firmly.
Elizabeth laughs slightly. "FINE, mother." Sitting back down and reaching out for the plate of pancakes.
Jason's villa Two hours later
Jason was laying on his back under his bike working on the clutch. When the softest voice pierced his ears.
"That's not your bike."
Jason quickly looked up. Elizabeth. The enforcer's eyes softened as he stared at the petite brunette. Elizabeth was standing in front him wearing a white cropped tank top that exposed her toned stomach. Her jeans rode dangerously low on her waist. Jason swallowed HARD. As he scanned her body up and down he noticed she wasn't wearing shoes. Her tiny toes were painted blood red with little flowers on each toe. Jason's heart jumped as he quickly stood up.
Finding his voice Jason cleared his throat. "Yeah, I...um gave my old one to Johnny."
At the mentioned of one of her old friends Elizabeth smiled weakly. "Johnny, how is he? And how's Francis and Max?" She didn't want to share that she already knew they were okay. She spoke with Francis every week.
"Their okay, they miss you...and so do I."
Elizabeth shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other as Jason studied her. Elizabeth flashed a sad smile. "I miss them too." Choosing to ignore the last part of Jason's comment. For now.

Chapter 39
Biting her bottom lip. "So, what's wrong with your bike?" She asked softly.
Her ignoring his comment about missing her hurt. But he knew he had ALOT to make up for. "Um, it's not running as smooth as it should. I will probably buy a new one."
Elizabeth nodded.
He wondered if she still had the bug. "Maybe when I go shopping for the new one, I could get your opinion...to see if you like it or not."
Elizabeth bit her lip again trying to hide her excitement about a possible ride. "I guess so." She shrugged.
Jason hid his smile. He felt some hope.
"H...how are you doing today?"
"Okay." Elizabeth shrugged shifting her weight to her other foot.
Jason smiled slightly as he glanced down at her bare feet. "Um...not big on wearing shoes anymore?"
"Nope, I'm not. I like the freedom."
Jason nodded. He watched as Elizabeth began to rub the sides of her temples. He swallowed hard as heart began to pound in his chest. Stepping forward quickly he reached out to touch Elizabeth's arm.
"Are you okay?"
Elizabeth pulled away from Jason's touch and stepped back. "I'm fine."
"Elizabeth."
Shaking her head. "I'm fine, Jason I just tend to get dizzy...it's nothing."
Jason licked his lips nervously as he watched the petite brunette. "Do you want to sit down or maybe drink some water?"
Elizabeth couldn't shake the dizzy feeling. DAMN IT. This was the last thing she EVER wanted Jason to see. "I...I just going to..." Elizabeth went to walk away but her knees became rubbery as dizzy spell became stronger and her eyesight blurred. Her legs gave out.
Jason quickly grabbed her before her head hit the ground. "Elizabeth!"
"I...I'm fine...I just need to go home..." Elizabeth shook her head.
"No, you need to lay down." Jason scooped the petite brunette up into his arms and carried her into his villa.
Elizabeth didn't fight him. The dizzy spell was so strong she couldn't concentrate in order to argue with him. So, she just laid her head on Jason's muscular chest and listened to his heart beat.
As Jason laid Elizabeth down on the leather couch in his livingroom his brows knitted together. Concern and fear mixed together on his face. "Do you want me to call Colletta?"
"No. I'll be fine. Could you just get some water for me?"
Jason hesitated for a minute not wanting to leave her alone. Letting out a breath the enforcer got up slowly. Jason glanced back at Elizabeth every step he took as he walked towards the kitchen. "I'll be right back."
Elizabeth nodded and closed her eyes. Jason reappeared five seconds later with a glass of water. As he approached her he fought back the tears in his eyes. DAMN RIC and FAITH. I hope you both burn in HELL!
Chapter 40
Jason walked slowly taking in every inch of the petite brunette laying on his couch. His heart was pounding in his chest. He sat down and held out the glass of water.
"Here" Jason whispered holding the glass to Elizabeth's lips as he helped her sit up.
Trying hard to control her breathing Elizabeth nodded mutely as Jason held the glass of water to her pouty lips. Jason tried very hard to mask the fear that coursed through his body as he stared helplessly down at the petite brunette. His heart pounded so loudly Jason could swear everyone in the world could hear it. As he watched Elizabeth slowly drink from the glass he held before her.
"Mmm" Elizabeth held up her small hand and pushed the glass away and began to get up from the couch. "I'll be going now...um thanks."
Jason frowned. "No Elizabeth you're still weak." Jason took the chance and began to trace her jaw with his fingers waiting for her to push him away. She never did.
"I'm fine Jason. I just got a little dizzy, that's all." Elizabeth argued.
Jason shook his head. "A little that's what you call a little? Stop arguing with me and drink some more water." He held the glass to her pouty red lips and watched her sip.
Elizabeth pushed the glass away with her small hand. "That's enough, I can't drink anymore."
Jason nodded and placed the glass down on the glass coffee table. "Maybe I should call Colletta." He began to get up but her small hand wrapped around his wrist. Elizabeth pulled him back down on the couch besides her. Her touch felt like she had burned him. He loved it.
"No, don't."
Jason nodded slowly and sat back down quietly loving the fact that she was still holding onto his wrist. Jason studied Elizabeth's beautiful face. Even though she was a little pale she was still beautiful to him.
"Have you eaten this morning? Cause I can make you something." Jason whispered softly as he began to stroke her jaw.
Elizabeth shook her head. "I already ate."
Jason nodded. He wanted to know if she was on any medication and what exactly was she taking. Sometimes Jason Quartermaine's skills came to him about studying to become a doctor. So, Jason was familiar with alot of medications regarding the heart, liver and kidneys. Jason decided to ask.
"Are you on medication?"
Elizabeth's eyes widened and released Jason's wrist before sitting up. He noticed the lost immediately and the change in her demeanor. "I better get going." Showing no emotion.
She didn't answer his question. "Elizabeth."
Elizabeth slipped her legs around him and got up. "I need to go....I...I just came by to thank you for the flowers, that's all." As she began to walk away Jason reached out and gently grabbed her small hand in his large one.
"Elizabeth" Jason's heart was pounding in his chest. He couldn't just let her walk away again.
Elizabeth closed her eyes determine to keep her resolve. She felt her knees grow weak and the feeling wasn't from her illness. It was from being touched by Jason. She turned around slowly keeping her chin held high.
"What?"
Seeing her sapphire eyes staring at him Jason lost his thought for a minute.
"Jason?"
Shaking his head slightly. "You're welcome, the flowers I mean." Elizabeth nodded then turned to walk away but Jason stopped her.
"Elizabeth"
She turned around again noticing he never did release her small hand from his. "What?"
"Um. let me walk you home." Jason stated stroking the back of her hand with his thumb.
She wanted to tell him he was getting too close. That he should go back home to his family in Port Charles but being so close to him was wearing on her.
Elizabeth nodded. "Okay"
Jason smiled and held her hand tighter as he reached for the doorknob of his villa.
10 minutes later
As the couple walked quietly Elizabeth slowly slipped her hand out of Jason's and cleared her throat. Jason pinched the bridge of his nose as he watched the petite brunette.
"Are you feeling okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
She was lying. So, Jason decided to change the subject not wanting to upset her. "So, was I right?"
Elizabeth looked over at the enforcer with knitted brows. "Right about what?" Trying not to be on the immediate defensive due to his words.
"The light....that the light is different here."
Elizabeth softened. "Yeah, you were right the light is different. It's beautiful."
Jason nodded. "That's not the only thing that's beautiful." Staring at her.

Chapter 41
Elizabeth tried to ignore Jason's comment but instead she blushed and ran her fingers nervously through her chocolate locks.
Biting her bottom lip her eyes darted towards the ground in front of her. Jason noticed and hid his smile.
"So, have you got much painting done since you've been here?" Please talk to me.
Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah, when I'm not at the shelter with Carlo I've been able to spend my time painting and riding Freedom of course."
"Freedom?"
Elizabeth smiled slightly thinking of her horse. "That's my horse. His name is Freedom."
Jason smiled. "That's a nice name."
Elizabeth shrugged and nodded. "So, are you planning on buying a new bike soon?"
Jason smiled wider. "I think so....why are you interested in helping me pick out a new one?"
Elizabeth's eyes widen slightly with one perfectly arched brow raised, she studies the enforcer. "Jason Morgan needs MY help?" Damn him and that gorgeous smile.
"Everybody needs help sometimes, even me." You helped me when I was shot.
Elizabeth bit her bottom lip and shrugged again. "If...if you need help I could help you." Trying her best to pretend she didn't care.
She's pretending she doesn't care. Jason hid his smile. "Okay, maybe sometime next week, how's that?"
"Okay."
The couple walked quietly back to Elizabeth's villa. As much as Elizabeth hated to admit it. Having Jason around was comforting. But she couldn't help thinking about Jason's so-called family back in Port Charles. And she wondered if Jason thought of them also. Pushing the moron three out of her mind Elizabeth let out a breath.
"Are you okay?" Jason asked with concern all over his face.
"I'm fine...just thinking."
Jason nodded wondering if she would tell him her thoughts. Don't push it, Morgan not yet anyway.
"I saw the shelter that you're having built. It's really nice. What made you decide to do that?"
He watched as Elizabeth bent down and picked up a couple of pebbles in her small hands.
"I went to adopt a dog and found out they were about to put down Bear, Pepper and Ernie. Also Jake and Em."
Jason smiled at the mention of the names. "I met Bear, Pepper and Ernie but who's Jake and Em?"
"My cats."
Jason nodded. She named one of her cats after my sister. And Jake after Jake's. She was quiet so Jason decided to continue the conversation.
"So, they were going to kill them, why?"
Elizabeth's face darkened. "Cause they were in the way. The shelter was running out of room so they were going to kill them that afternoon and I couldn't let them do that."
"It's because you have a big heart." Jason's eyes twinkled as he stared into the petite brunette's sapphire eyes.
"I don't know all about that...I just couldn't let them kill innocent animals. To just toss them aside like yesterday's trash." Cause I've been there. Tossed aside by family and so-called boyfriends.
Her last comment cut. That's what people in her life had done to her. Including him.
Chapter 42
Jason nodded as he listened to the petite brunette. "That's good that you were there to rescue them."
Elizabeth nodded as she walked down the road towards her villa with Jason by her side.
"A person or an animal shouldn't be tossed aside as if they don't matter. When they do." There was more meaning behind the words and Jason knew that Elizabeth understood.
Elizabeth remained quiet and kept walking looking down at the ground with her small hands stuffed inside her front pockets.
Jason held his breath. Is she going to start to pull away again? Then a thought came to him. "Did Freedom come from the shelter too?"
Elizabeth smiled slightly at the thought of her horse. "No, the previous owners of my villa sold him to me along with the cows."
Jason smiled. "Elizabeth Webber, country girl." He teased.
Elizabeth reached out and slapped Jason playfully on the arm. "Shut up, Morgan."
"Ow" Jason pretended she actually hurt him as he rubbed his arm. Elizabeth rolled her eyes and laughed. Her laughter was music to his ears.
"Baby" Elizabeth smirked.
As they aproached Elizabeth's villa. Jason decided to take a chance. "Um..do you have any plans for tonight?" He held his breath.
Elizabeth's head turned quickly looking at the enforcer. Elizabeth's dark eyebrows knitted together. "No, why?"
"I was hoping we could go to dinner and maybe take a walk." Say yes.
Jason Morgan asking me out? That's not possible. No.
Elizabeth felt like she was on the MTV show. Punk'd. She looked around for the cameras as she waited for Aston to jump out and tell her Jason had punk'd her. She stared at the enforcer and he appeared to be holding his breath.
"Jason, a-are you asking me out?"
Jason let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Yes, I am. Will you go out with me?"
Elizabeth was shocked. Jason was asking her out. "Why?" Jason watched her reaction as his heart pounded in his chest.
"Why?" Jason repeated with confusion on his face.
"Yeah, why? Why do you want to go out with me? I mean we never did before."
"I know and that was a mistake. I want you to go out with me so I can get to know you again and for you to get to know me again."
"What's so great about knowing me?" Elizabeth stated without emotion trying her best to put the wall back up around her heart. He can't mean this.
Jason smiled as he stepped closer to the petite brunette taking her small hands in his large ones. Jason began rubbing circles on the back of her hands with his thumbs. "How much time do you have?"
Elizabeth swallowed hard. She watched as Jason's ice blue eyes fell upon her lips. His eyes darkened. "So, will you go out with me?" Jason licked his lips.
"Um..I-I"
Just as Elizabeth was about to answer a car drives up. Jason turns his attention towards the car as he follows Elizabeth's stare. A man gets out of his car smiling then the smile falters when he notices Jason holding Elizabeth's small hands. Jason watches a man about his age walk towards them. He notices that the guy is not taking his eyes off Elizabeth so Jason steps closer to her side.
"Elizabeth, how are you?"
Elizabeth smiles. "I'm doing okay, Michael how are you?"
"I'm good." Michael turns his head and stares back at the piercing blue eyes of the man still holding Elizabeth's hands.
"Oh, um Michael this is Jason. Jason this is Michael." Elizabeth bites her bottom lip.
Michael nods. "Nice to meet you." Jason stares at the man and nods slightly not saying anything.
Pulling away from Jason Elizabeth runs her hands through her curls. "So, what brings you by?"
Jason immediately missed the feeling and began to glare hard at this Michael guy. Who the hell is he?
Chapter 43
"I came by..." Michael stopped immediately. The blond man was glaring at him. Michael shook his head in annoyance and turned his full attention to Elizabeth.
"Can I speak with you privately?"
Elizabeth glanced over at Jason then back quickly to Michael. "Um..sure, excuse us Jason."
Jason let out a breath and nodded. It was killing him. His eyes narrowed into slits when the guy's hand touched the small of Elizabeth's back as the two walked away. Jason clenched and unclenched his fist. He wanted to rip the guy's arm off and beat him with it. That guy wants Elizabeth.
"So, how are you, REALLY?" Michael questioned.
"I'm doing okay."
"Did you go to see Dr. Romelli? While I was out of town?" Michael questioned.
"I didn't need to but he did call me."
Michael nodded. "You...you look great." Beautiful is more like it.
"Thanks."
Michael nodded and smiled. "Any dizziness, or nausea?"
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. Michael was so worried. "A little dizziness but that's about it." She wanted to change the subject.
"So, how was your flight?"
Michael watched as the petite brunette shifted uncomfortably from one bare foot to the other. She was changing the subject. So, he decided to do the same thing.
"Where are your shoes, young woman?" He teased.
Elizabeth smiled. "In the house where else would they be?" Michael smiled and continued smiling even when he felt the icy glare of the man Elizabeth had just introduced to him.
"So, um is that a new friend of yours?" Michael asked hoping there was nothing going on between the two.
Elizabeth's brows knitted together. "A new friend?" Then it dawned on her. "Oh, Jason..um he's just a friend, an old friend."
Michael nodded. "Is he an American?" Finding out information from Elizabeth was like pulling teeth.
"Yeah."
Michael nodded before glancing over to the blond. Damn he looks like he wants to beat the crap out of me.
Jason cleared his throat and that caught Elizabeth's attention. She turned around looking back at Jason. Before she could say anything Colletta appeared smiling.
"Hello Jason....oh hello Michael welcome back."
"Hi" Jason replied still eyeing the stranger.
"Thank you, Colletta it's great to be back." Michael smiled looking hard at Elizabeth. Jason snorted.
Michael was about to say something but Colletta interrupted. "I'm sorry to interrupt but Elizabeth it's 3pm." Colletta raised a brow hoping Elizabeth would catch on to the silent meaning.
"Oh, yeah thanks Colletta. Um, excuse me I'll be right back." The two men watched as the petite brunette disappeared into her villa. That's when Jason spoke up.
"Who are you?" Jason questioned with his tone arms crossed in front of his well developed chest.
Michael's eyes widened then he rolled them. "I could ask you the same thing."
Jason's icy glared turned even more cold if that was possible. Ignoring the man's question Jason continued. "I won't ask you again. Who are you and WHAT are you to Elizabeth?"
Michael smirked. Who the hell did this guy think he is? "Are you a cop? What's with all the questions that are NONE of your business."
Jason's fist clenched. "If you are around Elizabeth your business is MY business." Jealousy was eating him up.
"I don't think so." Michael rolled his eyes and began to walk towards the steps of Elizabeth's villa.
"I DO think so!" Jason growled grabbing the man by his collar. Michael got out of Jason's grip and push him away.
"Don't ever touch me again!" Michael warned. His gray eyes grew cold.
Jason ignored the threat and stepped towards the man. "Have you ever seen a broken neck? I could show you."
Michael narrowed his gray eyes into slits. But before he could reply Elizabeth reappeared. She noticed the tension between the two men. "Um...is every okay?" She looked between the two.
Michael was the first to speak. "Yeah, everything is fine. Your friend and I were just getting to know each other."
Jason snorted and rolled his eyes. Yeah, get to know me after I break your neck. You prick.
Chapter 43
Elizabeth nodded and looked at the two men. Michael looked calm but Jason looked annoyed.
Michael smiled and continued to ignore the blond's man glare. "So, got any plans for tonight?"
Elizabeth's eyes widened and she looked at Michael curiously. "Um-not at this moment, why?"
Jason's eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. Was this son of a bitch about to ask Elizabeth out? Oh hell no! Jason clenched his fist. He is NOT going to make a play in front of me!
Jason cleared his throat before Elizabeth could answer. "WE were just about to discuss that when you drove up." Jason smirked.
Elizabeth noticed the tone in Jason's voice and shot him a look.
Michael nodded slightly. This guy is going to be a pain in my ass. "Oh, that's good. I've been telling Elizabeth that she needs to get out more and enjoy what life has to offer. Enjoy new things, experience other people." Get the meaning, moron?
Jason nods. "Elizabeth has her own mind she knows what's best for her. She doesn't like when people tell her what she should do." JERK.
Elizabeth stands here and she can't believe what's happening. "Um, I think Elizabeth can speak for herself, GUYS." She shakes her head.
Jason lets out a breath and pinches the bridge of his nose. Michael raises both his arms in the air in mock surrender and smiles.
"I was actually going to spend the evening on the couch with a huge bag of popcorn and some movies."
"I'll bring the cheese." Jason clears his throat and smiles. THAT'S right, buddy I'm going to be right next to her!
Elizabeth suddenly looks over at Jason and smiles. "Y-you remember?"
"That you love cheesy popcorn, yeah I remember." How could I ever forget.
Elizabeth laughed as she thought back to the night when she was watching movies and stuffing her face with chessy popcorn. That was the night her life changed. She had gone out of her studio just to get more soda when she came across Jason Morgan bleeding in the snow.
Oh crap. Michael think fast. "Well I hope you rent my suggestions." His eyes smiled as they winkled.
"Oh, yeah Midred Pierce and Mommy Dearest...I will, thanks."
"I think you'll enjoy Joan Crawford; I believe she was at her best in Midred Pierce." Turning his attention to Jason Michael smiles smugly. "Have you seen it, Jason?" You look like you don't have an ounce of class in you.
Jason shakes his head. "No, I haven't." Michael's smile widens.
"But I'm sure Elizabeth won't mind me watching it with HER." Jason smirks. Jason's blue eyes soften as he looks at Elizabeth. Which wipes the smile off of Michael's face.
"Is that okay with you?" Jason's voice softened and smiled his trademark smile.
Elizabeth swallows hard as Jason's eyes caress her body. She tries to shrug of the feeling. Say no.....say no.. "Sure, it's okay." Damn him and those eyes.
Jason smiles and he shoots a look at Michael. Thanks jackass.
Michael rolls his grey eyes. You might have won this round asswipe, but I'm not giving up.

Chapter 44
Later that night
"Where's Elizabeth?" Colletta asked her daughter Gina has she began to cook dinner.
"She's upstairs, that walk she took earlier I think tired her out." Gina replied pulling the lettuce out of the refrigerator.
Colletta nodded.
"Why are we making dinner anyway? I thought I heard her say something about hanging out with that cutie tonight."
Colletta looked at her daughter with confusion on her face. "What Q T?"
Gina shook her head. "No Mama not Q T.....the word is cutie." Parents...geez
Colletta nodded and began to mix the pasta sauce.
"The cutie I'm talking about is that guy Jason. She mentioned that he asked her out. Then blam doctor Mike shows up."
"Did Elizabeth tell Jason who Michael happens to be?"
"Nah, besides it's really none of his business."
"I don't agree with that. The man cares for her and she needs to be honest with him. Completely honest." Colletta stated wiping her brow.
Gina frowned. "Why? I mean Mama he's the one that walked away from her. It wasn't the other way around. She's just protecting herself. What if he hurts her again?"
"Wait a minute. You told her to date him, didn't you? I could have sworn that you said that."
Gina shook her head. "No, Mama I told her to have fun with him. Dating him is a different story. Dating means you're in a relationship. Having fun means....well..."
Colletta frowned. "Who raised you? I mean my God these thoughts surely didn't come from me!"
Gina shrugged. "He needs to prove himself and if he can't well then there's always Dr. Mike."
Colletta rolled her eyes and shook her head.
Elizabeth's bedroom
Elizabeth laid in bed trying to ignore the pain in her chest. Everytime she inhaled her chest would qiver. She heard her dogs playing outside and she wanted to get out of bed and watch them but she didn't have the energy. She felt a little queasy earlier but now she seem to be getting worst.
Steve sat in the corner of his granddaughter's room. Her face was extremely pale and she seem to be short of breath. Her breathing difficulty told the doctor that was still in him that one of her lungs was about to collapse. Elizabeth turned and stared at her grandfather but remained quiet. He could feel her pain and he knew it was just a matter of weeks now before her homecoming.
If only he could do something to stop it from happening. But the power was out of his hands. As Steve watched helplessly as his granddaughter's body began to break down a thought came to him. He needed help and he knew exactly who he needed to see.
Jason's Villa
Jason stood in front of his mirror wearing Elizabeth's favorite color. A light blue tee shirt that she claimed brought out his eye color. Since being in Italy Jason had ordered about five of the same light blue shirts. He let out a heavy breath; he was seeing Elizabeth in about two hours and he felt as nervous as a school boy on his first date. All of a sudden Jason felt a cool breeze pass behind him and he turned around. His balcony door was closed so where did the air come from?
"Go to her." Jason heard. The voice whispered. Jason's blue eyes widened and he turned around quickly as he scanned the room. He was alone.
"She needs you. GO to her!" The voice more urgent and louder this time. Jason felt his heart stopped as he felt the pain in his chest.
"UGH." Jason bent over holding his chest while trying to catch his breath. Even though Jason Quartermaine the would be doctor was gone. Part of him remained whether or not Jason Morgan wanted to acknowledge it. And that part told him that his breathing difficulty came from a partially collapsed lung.
"GO!" As soon as the statement rang through Jason's bedroom the pain stopped. Jason stood up and his brows knitted together. "Oh my God, Elizabeth!" Without stopping to grab his jacket Jason ran out of his bedroom, down the stairs and out the door.
Elizabeth's Villa
Jason ran the entire way there not stopping to get his bike. He ran up the stairs and impatiently began to bang on the front door.
"Elizabeth!" He yelled as he continued banging on the door. "Colletta, it's Jason let me in!" "Oh God!" He mumured. Please, I can feel it; I know something is wrong.
Colletta and Gina who both were still in the kitchen cooking looked at each other. "What the hell...?" Gina exclaimed.
"Is that man on drugs?" She added.
"Gina."
Colletta quickly walked out of the kitchen to the front door and opened it with confusion written all over her head.
"Jason, what's wrong?" She questioned but she didn't receive an answer. Jason gave her a slight push to the side as before taking off up the stairs towards Elizabeth's bedroom.
"That son of a bitch is crazy!" Gina yelled as she ran up behind the man. She turned quickly towards her mother. "Mama, you better call the police, now!" She ordered before continuing after Jason.
But instead of calling Colletta ran up the stairs behind the two just in time to see a frantic Jason run into Elizabeth's room. When they entered Elizabeth was standing by one of her windows looking out.
Jason let out a breath. He was wrong. Thank God the feeling he had was wrong. "Elizabeth?" He said barely above a whisper as he stared at the petite brunette's back. Elizabeth turned around to face him and fell.
"Elizabeth!" Jason yelled running and grabbing her before her head hit the floor.
Authors Note: Okay, I'm not going to ramble cause it's pretty late at night and my butt should be in bed. LOL Anyway, I just wanted to remind you to try not to hate Gina too much. After all she is Jason's Carly to Elizabeth. OH and by the way LOL, I didn't realize I had changed Vincent's name to Michael. LOL That's is my all time favorite name for a male besides the name Jason, Justin and Steve. LOL Nice catch. LOL But thanks I think it added hopefully to the storyline. Well, you'll see what I mean.
Chapter 45
The siren of the ambulance roared through the small streets of Rome. Passing through crowds and street traffic. As one paramedic drove like his life depended on it, which it did according to blond riding with them. The other kept working on the petite patient. Her heart had stopped twice and so did her companion's.
"Baby, please don't leave me..." Jason was shaking as tears rolled down his face. "I need you in my life, Elizabeth..God, without you I'm nothing."
The heart monitor slowly beeped indicating Elizabeth's heart beats. Steve Hardy sat besides a teary eyed Jason Morgan. He looked at the young man, studied him. Steve knew if he took Elizabeth that afternoon Jason Morgan's life would be over. He saw Jason swallowing a bullet at his granddaughter's grave site a week after her death.
The ambulance pulled up to the emergency room of Rome General and the paramedics jumped out after Jason opened the back door of the ambulance. "HELP her!" Jason demanded not bothering to control his emotions for once.
The two paramedics rushed Elizabeth out of the ambulance and through the doors of the emergency room with Jason besides them and Colletta and Gina in tow.
Jason was leaning down whispering words of love into Elizabeth's ear. "Baby, I love you. I know you're going to be okay...do you hear me?" Please don't take her from me...please.
Colletta stepped besides Jason and put on hand on his shoulder. Jason didn't seem to want Elizabeth out of his sight. He was holding her small hand and placing butterfly kisses on the palm and the back of her left hand.
"Sir, we have to..." One of the paramedics stated but Colletta held up her hand to interrupt them.
"Jason....they need to take her." Colletta said softly. Her heart was breaking for the man. Love was prominent in his sky blue eyes as he stood before her shaking. "I can't....she can't." He began to hyperventilate.
Tears flowed from Colletta's eyes. Oh God. "It's okay, Jason calm down honey. Jason, sweetie they're going to help her but you have to let her go."
Jason kissed her small hand again and then her forehead. "I..I love you..Elizabeth and I'll be waiting for you when you come out. I'm not going anywhere." The former enforcer sniffled.
Colletta wrapped her arms around him as they wheeled Elizabeth into surgery as Jason was shaking in her arms. She then felt him tense up and wondered what happened. Colletta turned around when Jason stepped out of her arms and began staring. She looked in the direction of which had Jason's attention. It was Michael, the man he had met at Elizabeth's villa. What the hell was he doing here?
Jason's eyes narrowed when a nurse approached the man quickly. Jason heard the nurse announced Elizabeth's name and what operating room she was in.
Jason stalked over to the nurse. "Why did you just give him information about a patient? What the hell is wrong with you?" Glaring at the nurse then Michael.
"Why are you here?" Jason demanded to know.
Michael rolled his eyes. He had no time for this. "It doesn't concern you Morgan." Michael began to walk off quickly to the operating room. Jason looked hard at the man. He's not a doctor why the hell is he walking towards where they had taken Elizabeth.
"Jason.." Colletta began. But Jason wasn't listening.
"Like hell it doesn't concern me! Elizabeth is fighting for her life and you're here for what? Trying to score points with her? You sick son of a..."
Michael glared at Jason. "WHAT? Get a grip Morgan and get the hell out of my face!" He growled.
Jason took two steps and was in front of the man in an instead. "I want you to stay away from Elizabeth, I'm warning you!" He growled clenching his fist staring with cold eyes.
Gina who had been talking to a nurse came running over after seeing the confrontation. "Jason, leave him alone!" Grabbing at the spiky blond's arm. "Good God, he's her DOCTOR for God's sake!"
Jason turned and looked wide eyed at Gina. A look of confusion flashed across his face. He felt like a fool.
"Go to her now Dr. Mesno." Gina demanded before watching the doctor run off to the operating room.
"Why didn't someone tell me before..." Jason asked in a whispered voice. "I've might have cost Elizabeth her life by...."
Gina looked over. "Not telling you had nothing to do with you. It was family business; and Elizabeth is our family."
"Elizabeth called him Michael? I don't..." Jason began feeling his heart sink even more.
"His name is Michael. Vincent Michael Mesno. Elizabeth is the only one that calls him that."
"Someone should have told me!" Jason growled.
"Why? Gina snorted. You don't get it do you, Jason? YOU don't COUNT in our lives and you never will." The comment was like a knife to his heart.
Flashback - Jason's Penthouse
"What happened didn't concern you Elizabeth, it was business." Jason stated.
Elizabeth's sapphire eyes narrowed. "No you're wrong. I'm in it and I count!"
End of flashback
Gina began to smirk looking at the former enforcer's face. "What's wrong Jason? Something coming back to haunt you?"
"GINA, ENOUGH!" Colletta snapped.
Jason rolled his eyes at the brunette. He turned to Colletta. "If you hear..."
Colletta nodded. "Anything I will tell you."
"I'll be in the chapel." Jason whispered. He knew the hospital well from his first trip to Italy after leaving Port Charles years ago. When he was injured in a bar fight he was forced to have stitches so when he was leaving the small hospital he happened upon a tiny chapel. Jason had spent a lot of time there trying to figure out why Elizabeth didn't take his hand that night when he wanted to show her the world.
Two hours later
Jason still sat in the small chapel praying that God would spare the love of his life. Steve Hardy sat besides the young man offering the younger man his strength. Because he knew that Jason would need all the strength in this world if the powers that be; ordered Elizabeth home tonight.
"You really do love my Grandchild, don't you?" Steve asked studying the young man.
"He always has."
Steve turned and swallowed hard. He hadn't heard the voice in years but it pentrated his memory "Lila?"

Chapter 46
There by the door stood Lila Quartermaine. She was smiling. "Hello Steve."
Steve got up and walked towards his old friend. He was shocked. "When?" Is all he asked.
Lila smiled. "This morning." Lila looked over Steve's shoulder at her crying Grandson.
Steve turned and looked back at Jason. "He called you?"
Lila nodded. "He wished that I was here to help him."
"Does he know?"
"That I'm gone? No, he doesn't."
"He needs your help. We both do." Steve let out a sigh.
"That's why I came." Lila states walking over to her grandson. Jason sat with his eyes closed when he felt some cool brush across his right cheek. He immediately opened his sky blue eyes and looked around. He was alone. Where did the breeze come from? There were no windows in the small chapel.
Suddenly in walks Colletta. "JASON!"
Jason stands up and practically runs towards the older woman. "Is Elizabeth okay? Where is she? I want to see her. How did everything go?" He rambled for the second time in his life.
Colletta let out a breath. "Vincent says she holding her own. He was able to repair the lung that collapsed. And two of the valves to her heart."
Jason swallowed hard and let out a harsh breath. Her heart. Oh God. "C..can I see her?"
Colletta nodded. "Since I'm Elizabeth's legal guardian I gave the hospital your name as one of her family members. So yes you can see her."
Jason grabbed Colletta into a hug. "Thank you."
"You're welcome...now go to her." She smiled weakly.
Jason approached Elizabeth's room and swallowed hard. He looked through the small window of the door to her room. A tear rolled down his cheek. There she laid with a tube coming out of her mouth to help her breathe. Jason closed his eyes tightly but didn't bother to hold back his tears. He slipped quietly into the room and his heart broke.
"Baby..." Jason began looking at her small frame in a hospital bed that seem to swallow her up. He walked over and smoothed her hair from her forehead. He needed to touch her. He needed to know she was still with him.
He swallowed hard. "I'm not leaving. I'll be right here when you're ready to wake up. And I'll take care of you. So, let's make a deal. Since I'm not leaving; you can't leave, okay?" Jason smiled weakly running his fingers through her curly hair. Jason looked around the hospital room and noticed small speakers playing what seemed like soft music..
"You know since we're already in Italy I'm going to have to get you another postcard. Remember, when I brought you that postcard when I came to visit you at GH and you gave me that scary speech?" Jason smiled. "I want to hear that again, so when you get better I'm going to request that scary speech."
"Do you want to hear some music, baby? Someone told me that music helps in recovery but I'm not sure if it's true. Come to think of it that someone was you. You told me that when I was recovering from that gun shot wound in your studio, remember?" Jason smiled as a tear rolled down his cheek.
"Here, let me turn it up."
I'm not a perfect person. There are many things I wish I didnt do but I continue learning. I never meant to do those things to you. And so I have to say before I go, that I just want you to know
I've found a reason for me, to change who I used to be a reason to start over new, and the reason is you
I'm sorry that I hurt you, its something I must live with everyday and all the pain I put you through, I wish that I could take it all away and be the one who catches all your tears, thats why I need you to hear
I'm not a perfect person, I never meant to do those things to you and so I have to say before I go that I just want you to know
I've found a reason for me, to change who I used to be a reason to start over new, and the reason is you and the reason is you and the reason is you and the reason is you
I'm not a perfect person, I never meant to do those things to you and so I have to say before I go that I just want you to know
I've found a reason for me, to change who I used to be a reason to start over new, and the reason is you I've found a reason to show a side of me you didn't know a reason for all that I do, and the reason is you.
Jason sat in a chair by Elizabeth's bed and placed his head on the side of her stomach. Which his arms wrapped protectively over her. Jason cried.
Chapter 47 "Hello?" Elizabeth yelled out. The mist around her feet was so thick it reminded her of the old heavy metal videos from the 80's. She looked down and smoothed out the front of her long flowing gown. Where am I?
As she continued to walk she lifted her small hands in front of herself in order not to bump into something. The ground beneath her feet was softer than a pillow. And the air around her smelled sweetly of Lilys.
"Hello? Can someone please help me?" Elizabeth continued walking looking around wearily. Colletta? Gina? Someone!"
"Hello."
Elizabeth turned quickly when she heard the soft voice. All of a sudden the mist seem to part and a large oak door came into view. Before it stood a beautiful brunette wearing a similar gown as Elizabeth.
"Oh thank God. I need your help. I need to find my friends and go back home."
The brunette smiled. "You are home, Elizabeth welcome." The woman stated with a deep hungrian accent.
"NO!" Jason yelled as the monitors in Elizabeth's room when flat. The nurses flooded Elizabeth's room. Her heart had stopped again. Jason reached out franticly for Elizabeth's small hand.
"You need to leave now!" The nurse ordered pushing the former enforcer towards the door.
"ELIZABETH, please baby.....NO don't leave me! GET off me!" Jason yelled pushing the nurse out of his way as he tried to make his way back to Elizabeth's bed.
"Mr. Webber, we need you to leave so we can help your wife!" The nurse yelled out. The light outside Elizabeth's room flashed a code blue.
"My wife...?" Jason murmured in confusion as other nurses rushed in and pushed him out. Michael came running from around the corner and ran straight into the brunette's room slamming the door behind him. Jason slammed his fist into the wall besides the door senting a vibration that would match an earthquake through the corridor. He stood helpless outside looking through the window with tears flowing own his cheeks. His "wife" was dying and there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it. He was about to lose his Elizabeth.
Colletta and Gina rushed up and found Jason shaking as the former mob enforcer watched his life slip away. Colletta covered her mouth and began to cry as Gina held her.
"I'm where? This isn't my home. My home is in Italy, I don't belong here."
The brunette smiled. "I said the same thing when I arrived, Elizabeth. I fought so hard to get back to my husband. But you'll accept it in time."
Elizabeth held up her small chin. "No, I won't! I don't even care where I am I just want to go home." Elizabeth approached the oak doors and pulled on the brass handles.
"Elizabeth..."
"STOP, Elizabeth (ing) me!" She ordered. "Colletta! Gina!" Elizabeth banged and pulled on the huge doors in front of her.
"I know how you feel."
"How could you possibly know how I feel? You don't know me." Elizabeth searched the door to see why it wouldn't open.
"I WANT out of HERE!" She growled.
"But I do. When I arrived I did the same thing you're doing right now. Even after I found out I couldn't return to my husband."
"Well, I am sorry that happened to you but I'm different. I don't belong here. Is there another door around here?"
The brunette shook her head. "No, this is it but I don't think you're ready to go through them. So, I noticed you haven't asked where you are? I at least did that when I arrived."
"Because princess I don't care."
The brunette smiled. "It's been a long time since someone's called me that. My husband used to call me that all the time. I miss him." The far away look in the woman's eyes made Elizabeth stop.
"Oh, god I don't want to know where I am do I?" Elizabeth whispered looking scared for the first time.
"Am...I?" Elizabeth swallowed hard.
The brunette cocked her head to one side to study the petite woman. She smiled. "Let me introduce myself...my name is Gillian Lavery. I'm a friend of your grandfather, Steve."
Elizabeth's eyes widened when she remembered the name. A few years ago a Hungrian princess, by the name of Gillian Angassi Lavery was killed in the town of Pine Valley. Elizabeth covered her mouth with her small hand as she stared.
"Oh my God. You're that princess..."
Gillian smiled.
"That means I'm...."
"No, you're in limbo. Like I said I don't think you're ready to go through those doors. That's why I'm here. I'm here to help you."
"Where's..."
"Your grandfather? He's currently being someone's support."
Elizabeth nodded. Not wanting to ask what that really meant.
Elizabeth's hospital room
"Is your friend with Elizabeth now?" Lila asked as she glanced over to Steve after watching her grandson for the past hour.
"Yes, Gillian is with her."
"So, you think this plan should work?"
"Yeah, I do. I think Elizabeth will be more responsive to Gillian than me. Since Gillian was around the same age as Elizabeth when she passed. When she first arrived she forth tooth and nail to go back to her husband, Ryan but it was too late. But with Elizabeth she still has a chance and she needs to realize that."
"She needs to fight." Lila stated.
"Yeah, fight to be with the man she loves. Your grandson, Jason."
"Jason, you need to eat, honey." Colletta quietly stated as she watched the blond maintain a vigil by Elizabeth's bed.
"I need her." Jason choked holding onto Elizabeth's small pale hand for dear life. She had slipped into a coma and was slipping slowly away from him.
Colletta sniffled. "I know...I know but she needs you to stay strong for her. Michael said she could be out for a while, why not take a walk with me to the cafeteria and we'll come right back." She needed to get Jason out of the room for his own sanity.
"I can't leave her. I walked away too many times in the past." Looking down at the love of his life. "I'm right here, baby I don't care how long it takes. I'm not leaving."
Colletta nodded silently. "If you change your mind I'll be outside." Colletta turned and began to walk towards the door.
"Colletta."
She turned around and looked at the blond. "Yes?"
"Why did you tell the hospital staff that...that Elizabeth's my..my wife?" God he wished it were true. Jason felt the small velvet box he that was in his jean pocket. He had purchased it for Elizabeth two years ago. And as soon as she got better he would ask her.
Colletta smiled. "Because you love her. Jason, I've never seen a man look at a woman the way you look at Elizabeth. It wouldn't have been right of me to keep you away. She needs you more now than ever."
Jason didn't bother wiping away the tears rolled down his cheeks as he got up and hugged the woman he had grown to care for. "Thank you, Colletta."
"You're welcome. Now try to get some sleep." Colletta smiled. Jason returned with a sad smile as he re-took his seat.

Chapter 48
Two days later
"It's beautiful here." Elizabeth stated as she walked along a path with Gillian. "The sky is so intensely blue it reminds me of Jas.." Elizabeth stopped short.
Gillian smiled and cocked her head to the side. "Reminds you of ....?"
Elizabeth swallowed hard and bit her bottom lip. Since being in limbo she hadn't mentioned his name. She only had spoke of Steve, Audrey and Colletta.
"Um...it reminds me of an old friend of mine. His eyes, are the color of the sky."
"Ohh, is he cute?" Gillian asked as the two approached a small bench.
Elizabeth's eyes began to tear up slightly. "He...he's really handsome." She replied sitting next to her new friend.
"Oh, really? What does he look like; what's his name? Is he your boyfriend or husband?" Gillian rambled excitedly.
"Um..he's..ah no he's not my boyfriend or my husband. He's um, just a friend...an old friend."
Gillian studied the petite brunette. He's more to her than JUST a friend. "So, what does he look like; and what's his name?" She asked again.
A far away look appeared in Elizabeth's sapphire eyes. "His hair is the color of wheat. The front is in blond spikes. It's not as though he highlights it; it's just natural." Elizabeth smiled. Feeling a tad wierd that she was defending Jason's hair color.
Gillian smiled. "Go on." Talk about him.
Elizabeth looked down at her small hands as she smoothed out the front of her gown. "He looks as though he always has a tan but he doesn't. He's not pale like I am." Elizabeth bit her bottom lip and began to pick innocently at her red nail polish. "He's tall." She smiled brightly. "Like 6'2."
Gillian smiled.
"His eyes like I said before are the color of the sky, intensely blue. He has a strong roman nose that accents his lips and square jaw. And his skin is soft mixed with a perfect male scent of mint and musk." Elizabeth smiled and laughed slightly. "I told him that several times and he would just laugh."
Gillian studied the brunette. Oh my God. Steve was right she's in love with him.
"Men." Gillian stated with a shrug as she smiled.
"That's right, men." Elizabeth smiled.
"He sounds gorgeous, like my Ryan. What's his name?" Gillian questioned.
Elizabeth swallowed hard. "Jason...Jason Morgan."
At that moment Jason woke up suddenly lifting his head off of Elizabeth's stomach. His blue eyes locked on to her small face. Jason gather up one of her hands in his large one. He had heard his name. "Elizabeth...baby? Jason said softly before kissing it.
"Mr. Webber?"
Jason looked up to find one of Elizabeth's nurses peeking into the small room. He had gotten used to being called Mr. Webber and responsed each time anyone in the hospital spoke with him.
"Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Webber but it's time for me to check your wife's vitals." The brunette nurse smiled sadly.
Jason swallowed and nodded. He watched the nurse carefully check Elizabeth's blood pressure and for any movement. Jason frowned when the nurse removed a small pin from her pocket and applied pressure against the pad of Elizabeth's tiny feet.
Jason grimaced. "Do you have to do that everyday to my wife? I don't like that you're hurting her with that thing." Jason growled.
"I'm sorry, Mr.Webber it's Doctor Mesno's orders. We need to see a response."
Jason let out a breath and rolled his eyes at the nurse. Deep down inside he that she was just doing her job but it killed him to think of Elizabeth in any type of pain.
"Where is Doctor Mesno?" Jason demanded. I haven't seen him in two days." Idiot
"He had a family emergency regarding his daughter. But don't worry, Mr. Webber your wife is in good care. We have been updating the doctor every two hours on her condition."
Jason tapped his foot and rolled his blue eyes. "Fine"
The nurse swallowed hard and let out a breath. Mr. Webber was a handsome man but considering his wife he was VERY imtimdating and extremely protective. More protective she had ever seen. As the nurse slipped quietly out of the room Jason's demeanor changed immediately.
"Hey, wife." Jason smiled. "I..um wanted to give something to you after you got better but I just can't wait. I'm impatient now, isn't that funny? Anyway, I um...brought you something a long time ago. Remember when I asked you to go away with me? I had realized then how much I had been fighting my feelings for you. That I wanted to respect your feelings regarding Lucky but I went out and brought it anyway. Hoping you would come with me so I could give it to you." Jason smiled and reached for Elizabeth's left hand. He then pulled a small red velvet box from his pants pocket.
"I hope you won't be too angry with me, that I picked it out without asking you first. But when I saw it; I just knew it belonged on your finger." Jason opened the small box and revealed a platitum two carat diamond ring with two small pieces of red glass on each side. "I also brought us wedding bands. I had yours inscribed " Jason held up the small band and read it. "You are my wind. Love always and forever, Jason." Jason held his breath wanting Elizabeth to wake up and yell at him for buy her a ring without her even knowing about it. "If you are angry...um I have to be honest I'm looking forward to a big scary speech from you. Because you know how much I love getting you all fired up." Jason smiled.
He then swallowed hard and looked down at her small hand. Jason picked up the ring and placed it at the tip of Elizabeth's ring finger. "Elizabeth, baby...I realized that night when I asked you to go away with me that I was born to love you." Jason started to tear up. "That I'm only half a person without you in my life. I used to say that I was good at my job because it was in my blood. But I was wrong. The night you picked me up out of the snow was the night you became my blood. You're in my blood, sweetheart and I will never let you go or walk away from you ever again." Jason clenched his teeth. "Come back to me, Elizabeth. I- LOVE- YOU so much. I want to take care of you, love you. I want to make babies with you. I want to see your eyes smiling back at me through our child's eyes." Jason slipped the small ring along with the wedding band onto Elizabeth's ring finger as he slipped a band onto his finger as well. Both bands matched perfectly. "Elizabeth Imogene Webber will you marry me?"
As Elizabeth sat next to her friend she felt a warm sensation travel up from her left ring finger up to her shoulder. She looked down at her hand and felt as though something had been slipped onto her finger, but as far as she could see there was nothing.
