Chapter 10
Maxie entered Kelly's and by the look on her sister's face she knew she was beyond late. "Hey Georgie, sorry I'm late." "It's no big deal Maxie." Maxie was surprised usually Georgie would have been reprimanded on her tardiness. "Georgie are you ok?" Georgie looked Maxie in the eye wishing she could tell her about her dream but she couldn't. "I'm fine Maxie, are you going to order anything?" Maxie decided to stop questioning her sister until after she had soemthing to eat. "Heck yeah, I'm starved. With Kyle and Lucas fixing the faucet the kitchen is a big mess." ~*~*~*~*~*~* Dillon carried Amelia to the nearby sofa. As soon as he set her down her eyes fluttered open. "What happened?" AMelia asked sitting up. "Whoa be careful. You fainted, I think we should get you to the hospital." "I don't need a hospital, what I need is to stand up." "Amelia you fainted and according to Georgie this wouldn;t be the first time something like this has happened." Dillon looked at his younger sister with concern. He was afraid that this faiting spell and her exhaustion were connected with the car accident she had been in a year and a half earlier. "Listen Dillon I appreciate your concern but I don't need to go the hospital." ~*~*~*~*~* "Ok Georgie tell me whats bothering you." Maxie took one last sip of her coffee, "And don't try to deny it becasue that crease between your eyebrows only means one thing, something's on your mind." "I don't think Dillon and I should get married." Maxie's face formed into an espression of shock. ~*~*~*~*~*~* "Dillon I've already been to see a doctor. I know exactly whats wrong with me." "Is it serious?" "Well it could be. I'm pregnant." "Thats so great!" Dillon beamed, he noticed Amelia was not so enthusiastic. "Why aren't you smiling?" "I don't think I'm going to tell Lucas." "What's that supposed to mean? You're going to wait until your water breaks, oh gee dear did I forget to tell you, we're having a baby? " Dillon said with a laugh. But he stopped laughing once he saw the expression on Amlia's face. ~*~*~*~*~*~* "Georgie you can't be serious. This is just you getting cold feet. Its normal especially with your wedding date fast approaching." "Maxie this is just more than cold feet. What if after we get married he realizes that the Quatermaines were right and he doesn't really love me, I was just a phase part of his rebelious streak?" "Georgie I love you, you're my sister but what the hell is wrong with you? Dillon has been in love with you since day one! There is nothing about your relationship that warrents a phase." "You know what Maxie, you're right. This is just me getting cold feet, its normal." Georgie hated lying to her sister but she couldn't shake the feeling of soemhting going wrong. ~*~*~*~*~*~* "Amelia how long have you known?" "Three weeks." "Now explain to me why you're not planning on telling Lucas." "I met with an ObGyn at Mercya nd she explained to me that the injuries I sustained after the accident might have caused long termdamage which can make it difficult for my body to carry a baby to term." A tear escaped Amelia's eye and trickled down her cheek. Hearing herself say aloud what the doctor had told her made it all the more real. Dillon didn't know what to do or say, he wrapped his arms around his sister and let her cry. "Amelia how far along are you?" "Two and a half months." "you know Lucas has the right to know." Amelia nodded her head against Dillon's shoulder.

Chapter 11
“So the doctor basically told you that there is a possibility you might lose the baby.” Lucas looked at Amelia. When she had first told him about the baby happiness had filled him but with the news of her visit to Mercy the happiness had been replaced with concern. “Yes.” Amelia whispered. She had promised herself that regardless of Lucas’ reaction she would remain strong. “Well,” Lucas clasped her hand in his, “It looks like you’re going to have to take it easy the next six and a half months.” ~*~*~*~*~*~* Georgie paced in the living room waiting for Dillon to come home. He had called her earlier that day and canceled lunch but she wasn’t disappointed because it had given her and Maxie more time to shop for her trousseau. Dillon entered through the front door, it had been a long day and the only thing he wanted to do was curl up with Georgie on the couch and watch the movie he had rented. Before he could greet her with hello Georgie blurted out, “Dillon, we can’t get married!” “What!?!” “ Let me explain, I had this dream last night and in it you left me at the alter saying you weren’t right for me but Dillon it’s the other way around I’m not right for you!” Dillon laughed aloud, he stopped laughing when he saw the scowl on Georgie’s face. He had figured it would normal for him to get cold feet, but the tables were turned and it was his bride to be who seemed to have frost bite. “Why are you laughing?” Georgie said in an irritated tone. “Sweetheart it’s been a long day and hearing you compare your dream to our real lives is somewhat hilarious. I love you more than life itself, you know that. I would do anything for you but where your concerned Georgie I am selfish, I would never leave you even if my own life depended on it. You are more than right for me Georgie, I’ve known that all along, you were the woman who I would marry, who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. And in a few weeks it’s going to be made official whether you like it or not.” Georgie listened to what Dillon said and when he was through she managed to smile. Maxie had been right, it was just cold feet. She wanted to marry Dillon more than anything and come two weeks she would. Dillon could see Georgie’s mind had been eased. “Now that we have that settled why don’t we watch this movie.” Dillon wrapped his arms around Georgie’s waist and kissed her passionately. She murmured in agreement. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “You’re not mad at me?” Amelia asked. “Why would I be mad?” “Because I kept it a secret for three weeks.” “Listen Amelia I stopped trying to figure out how your mind works ages ago. The point is you told me and didn’t make any rash decisions without my knowledge.” Amelia smiled, she was grateful for Dillon convincing her to tell Lucas the truth. “Well I guess we’re having a baby.” She laughed. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Maxie walked into her kitchen surprised to find it spotless. She walked over to the sink and turned on the faucet surprised to see that it actually worked. “What do you think?” Kyle asked, opening the door to the refrigerator. “I’m so proud of you! You actually managed to fix something in this place. Let me guess Lucas did all the work.” “I wouldn’t say that.” “Of course you wouldn’t. So if Lucas fixed the faucet what did you do?” “Lucas didn’t fix the faucet.” “If you didn’t fix it and Lucas didn’t fix it then who did?” Maxie said with a puzzled expression. “Uh well um before Lucas came to fix it I sort of made things worse and broke one of the pipes so we called a plumber.” Maxie started laughing uncontrollably while Kyle glared at her. “That has to be the funniest thing I’ve heard in ages.” Maxie said once she managed to control her breathing. “Stop glaring at me Kyle it’s not like I really expected you to actually fix the faucet. Besides we have more important things to think about like Georgie’s wedding shower and Dillon’s bachelor party. Have you and Lucas finished the plans for the party?” “It’s not a party Maxie we’re just going to take Dillon the coolest bars in town.” “Which ones?” “First Luke’s to see this cool blues band that will be in town and then to Jake’s to play one last game of pool as a single man.” “Sounds like fun. Amelia and I decided to take Georgie to the Cellar where we’ll be meeting the girls.” “Lucas and I were thinking of inviting Zander and Nikolas to give Dillon the lowdown on what to expect when he gets married.” “Are you guys going to invite Lucky, Lucas’ cousin too?” “Yeah I think Lucas mentioned it.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “So what do you think of the movie so far?” Dillon whispered. “It’s great. Elizabeth Taylor is so beautiful and James Dean is very cute.” “Right. You know Elizabeth Taylor’s beauty is nothing compared to yours.” Dillon said. The two were watching Giant. “Well considering the fact that she’s in her 70's I’d think not.” Georgie joked. Dillon began to tickle Georgie who was laughing so hard her laughs could be heard outside to the visitor approaching the door.

Chapter 12
“Stop Dillon, stop!” Georgie laughed, “I’ll stop if you promise to kiss me.” “Ok, ok!” Dillon released Georgie from his grasp and Georgie placed a gentle kiss on his lips. When a knock came to the door. Dillon and Georgie both looked towards the door. “Who do you think it is?” “There’s only one way to find out.” Dillon said as he headed over towards the door. He opened the door and on the other side was a person he had never expected to see. “Dillon?” The stranger asked. “How can I help you, Dad?” Dillon had never seen a photo of his absentee father when he was growing up, Tracy had told him that it was no use to see a picture of a man who had forgotten about him. The first time he had seen one was when some of Amelia’s possessions had been shipped to her from Los Angeles, amongst the clothes and jewelry was a photo album. Inside the photo album were various photos of Amelia when she was a child including photos of her with Paul and Jenny on numerous family vacations. When Dillon had seen these photos he was hit with a twinge of hurt. Although he would never admit it he missed having a family when he was growing up but instead Tracy constantly reminded him that he was better off living with her instead of being a burden to his father who didn’t want him intruding on his new family. “May I come in?” Paul asked. He hadn’t expected to be greeted by the son he had been separated from. After he and Tracy had divorced she had fled to Europe without so much as letting him know where she was going. He attempted to locate her and his son but gave up once he realized that Tracy would never allow him to see Dillon. After he left Port Charles with Jenny to live in Los Angeles where his daughter was born after Jenny’s death he escaped into his work. “Sure” Dillon stepped out of the way allowing his father to enter the house. Georgie turned off the television and stood up. “Georgie this is Paul Hornsby. Paul this is Georgie Jones my fiancee.” “Hello Georgie, Amelia has told me a lot about you.” Paul shook her hand. “Nice to meet you Mr. Hornsby.” Gerogie smiled. “Dad, if you don’t mind me asking, what are you doing here and how did you find me?” “A.J. gave me this address. I heard about your upcoming wedding from your sister and I decided now was as good a time as any to congratulate you.” “Figures A.J. would do that.” Dillon muttered under his breath. “You traveled three thousand miles to congratulate me on my engagement?” “Well, yes. I’m sorry Dillon I didn’t try to contact you earlier especially when Amelia moved here but I was dealing with issues over seas which is no excuse. I just want you to know that I am sorry for not being there for you when you were growing up. I assumed you were better off without me as a father.” Dillon wasn’t sure how to respond, a part of him had resented his father and another part of him wanted to forgive him. He knew his mother had lied to him and was only keeping him from seeing his father due to her own selfishness. Georgie clasped Dillon’s hand knowing he must be having a hard time dealing with his father’s appearance. “I appreciate you coming all this way but I’m sure you can understand that I’m going to need some time to think thing over.” “Of course. Well I’m going to be staying at the Port Charles Hotel.” Paul walked out the door before taking one last look at his son. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Tracy Quatermaine paced in her hotel room. She was growing restless of her stay in Port Charles but she refused to allow her son get married to a simple girl like Georgie Jones. Tracy was going to convince her son to return to Europe with her if it were the last thing she did. She decided to go down to the bar and get herself a drink. As soon as her elevator door closed the one next to hers opened. “This way Mr. Hornsby.” The bellhop said showing Paul to a hotel suite that was two doos down from Tracy’s. “I hope you enjoy your stay here at the Port Charles Hotel.” “Thank you.” Paul said handing the bell hop a generous tip.

Chapter 13
Georgie looked at her reflection in the mirror. The white gown was beautiful, Amelia used her contacts in New York and had the Vera Wang gown shipped to Port Charles before it could hit the runways. Georgie had no idea who Vera Wang was but one thing she knew for sure was that she designed gorgeous gowns. Her gown was strapless with a full skirt. She didn’t want beads or stones just a simple gown. But simple had a way to look gorgeous on Georgie. “Georgie you look so amazing.” Maxie squealed after stepping out of the dressing room next to Georgie’s. She was wearing her brides maid dress which was spaghetti strapped in a pale pink hue. “I cannot believe this.” Amelia said aloud from her dressing room. “What’s wrong?” Georgie and Maxie asked in unison. “It doesn’t fit! This thing fit two months ago at the first fitting.” “You weren’t three months pregnant the last time.” Maxie pointed out. “Just come on out Amelia and we’ll have the seamstress measure you again.” “Fine Georgie, I want to see you in that wedding dress anyways.” Amelia stepped out of the dressing room, her dress was halfway zipped from the back. Although she was only three months pregnant her stomach was beginning to protrude. “Georgie! You look beautiful.” Amelia beamed. “Thanks. What time is it? I don’t want us to be late for lunch with your dad.” “We have plenty of time I’m glad Dillon accepted his lunch invitation.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “Ow, man watch where you stick those pins.” Kyle said flinching. “Sorry sir.” The tailor replied. “I could never figure these things out.” Lucas muttered attempting to tie the black bow tie which completed his tuxedo. “I know what you mean. I feel like an oversized penguin.” Dillon replied fixing the black cummerbund of his tux. “Are you sure you want to go through with this Dillon, because if not I really won’t be disappointed if I can’t wear this.” “Kyle, I haven’t been more sure of anything in my life.” “What time do we have to be at the Grill for lunch?” Lucas asked. “In about 40 minutes.” Dillon answered

Chapter 14
Dillon, Georgie, Lucas and Amelia made their way to the table where Paul was awaiting. He was glad that Dillon had accepted his invitation and in inviting his daughter and her boyfriend he hoped it would ease the tension. “Dad!” Amelia hugged Paul. He was glad to see his daughter he hadn’t seen her in months. She visited him occasionally when she had the time, which was rare. He still felt guilty for not coming to her side when she was in that car accident. “Hello Mr. Hornsby.” Lucas said outstretching his hand. “You must be Lucas.” Paul shook his hand. He wasn’t too keen on the fact that his only daughter was pregnant and unmarried but as she explained to him on the phone it was a matter of taking one thing at a time. “Dillon, Georgie I’m glad you two could make it.” “It’s our pleasure.” Georgie replied. Our pleasure? It’s almost as bad as when Georgie told Alcazar her father hates crime, Dillon thought to himself. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Tracy entered the PC Grill she was growing restless but thanks to A.J. she was made aware of her son’s wedding date and planned on making an unforgettable entrance. She was not going to let her youngest son make a mistake and marry an unfavorable woman just like Ned did when he married Skye. The waiter was leading Tracy to her table outside when she heard a familiar voice. There is no way that can be Paul. “Excuse me, but is that Paul Hornsby I hear?” “Yes madam he is meeting with the young Mr. Quatermain and his fiancee for lunch.” “Is there anyone else with them?” “Yes, Ms. Quatermaine and her companion are also joining them this afternoon.” How dare that thing have the audacity to use the Quatermaine name, well it looks like I’m going to have to make my presence known today. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “So tell me is there anything I can do for you two in preparation for your wedding?” “No we have everything under control.” Dillon said. He had been thinking of inviting his father to the wedding, but he would let Georgie invite him. “Mr. Hornsby, Dillon and I would like to extend an invitation to our wedding, that is if you’re still going to be in town then.” Paul was taken aback by the invitation, he had never thought about being invited, “Of course I would love to attend your wedding, thank you for the invitation.” “You can’t be serious about inviting him.” The group looked up to find Tracy standing with a very angry expression on her face. “Oh great it’s the wicked witch of western Europe.” Amelia muttered. “What are you doing here?” Paul asked standing to meet Tracy’s icy glare. “Why Paul, dear I could ask you the same thing. You have no right being here, so why don’t you take your of a daughter, the one whom you abandoned our son for, and go back to California where you came from. And before I forget Paul I’m really sorry for your loss, Jenny’s death must have been quite a shock seeing that her life insurance policy must not have been left to you as sole beneficiary.” “Mother I told you not to bother us again.” “Dillon, unlike your father I have your best interest at heart.” “What interest Tracy? If you were a real mother you would only be interested in your son’s happiness.” Paul exclaimed.
“Dillon has no idea what makes him happy, this girl he’s going to marry is only interested in the money he’s worth.” “That is a lie! I love Dillon and we’re getting married whether you like it or not!” Georgie shouted. She was tired of his mother second guessing her actions. “How dare you raise your voice at me you little tart.” Dillon was attempting to control his anger and not make a scene in his family’s restaurant. “How dare you insult Georgie, you don’t even know her.” Lucas spoke up in defense of his cousin. “Who are you? Oh I remember you’re the man who managed to knock up Paul’s precious daughter. I’m sure Alan must be proud of you girl seeing that he has a slew of illegitimate children, oh wait I cleared that one up with Rae. Well be sure of one thing Amelia your child will not be a part of the Quatermaine family.” Tracy had been waiting for this moment to repay Amelia for slapping her four years ago. “I know this may come to as a shock to you Tracy but you have no say on who is a Quatermaine or not. Why can’t you understand that Georgie makes Dillon happy? After you left him on the Quatermaine’s doorstep it was Georgie who acknowledged him as a real person unlike you who only saw him as a possession. He’s happy now Tracy I would think you would be happy for him too.” “What do you know? You don’t think that I know my own son? This girl is just a phase and Dillon I hope you don’t realize the truth when it’s too late.” “Goodbye Mother.” Tracy shoved Amelia against the table as she made her exit. “Are you ok sweetheart?” Paul asked with concern. “I’m fine dad there’s no need to worry.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Tracy was surprised to see her ex-husband in Port Charles she hadn’t expected him to come. She was going to have to take drastic measures to ensure Dillon didn’t marry that Georgia-peach girl. She pulled out her cell phone and dialed a familiar number, “On second thought I’ll take you up on your offer. Yes I’m sure, and make sure nothing gets in the way.”
