Chapter 2

7 o'clock
Knock knock

Carly was wearing a simple black dress while Sonny served the men glasses filled with liquor and talked about the casino.

Im coming Carly said as she looked at her watch wondering why her friends hadnt arrived yet. Eliz- she stopped as she looked at her sister-in-law dressed in a white strapless dress hugging her manly body like a second skin, barely covering her breasts and buttocks. Carly wanted to laugh, she looked ridiculous.

Oh Oh she said as she noticed Sonnys eyes widen as he caught a glimpse of his sister's attire.

Hello Carly, she smiled widely.

Hey Carly managed a short, curt reply trying to control her laughter from betraying her. She looked at the womans face, she had so much make up on she looked like a clown. A really bad clown.

Sonny, Courtney said walking towards the men.

Courtney lets have a word, Sonny clenched his teeth pulling her to the side.

No! Well talk later. I want to meet your associates, she said pulling out of his grasp and walking towards where the three men that were talking about business. But as soon as they saw her they stopped talking and frowned. This couldnt be Sonny's sister.

Hello, she purred or what they guessed was supposed to be a purr. Im Courtney, Sonnys sister, she said kissing each one on the cheek.

Francis snickered and backed out dodging her lips on his cheek.

Oh Frannie you are a flirt, she laughed.

Jason and Johnny were too stunned at her attire to say anything.

Im - Im Johnny said speechless. What the hell was that woman wearing he thought to himself. Johnny and this is Jason, my boss, he said clasping her hand reluctantly but didn't want to be rude, especially to Sonny's sister.

He looked at Jason as he rubbed the hot pink lipstick off his face. Johnny had expected a beautiful woman, one with class a true lady; but not this. She looked like a prostitute. He smiled as he excused himself to help Carly or so he used that excuse to leave his boss with that woman. After all his boss could handle any woman including this one.

Jason glared at his right handed man. How dare Johnny excuse himself and leave him there with this woman. ALONE. He smiled at her as he tried to clean the lipstick he knew she left on his face. He looked at Johnny smiling at him from across the room. Oh he was going to make him pay when they returned to the island and he was going to make him pay in the worst possible way.

So Jason its nice to meet you, she smiled stretching her hand towards him and not noticing that she had lipstick on her teeth. You work for my brother, right?

Yes he replied shaking her hand and then trying to free his hand from her grasp when she refused to let go. Now he understood why Carly had said that comment earlier about this woman being a man. He took a swallow of his glass and let the hard liquor burn his throat. Suddenly there was a knock at the door.

Ill get that, Carly laughed looking at Jasons horrified expression and headed to open the door.

Excuse me Courtney, I need to talk to Johnny about some business, he said heading towards where Johnny and Francis where standing. It wasnt the truth but it wasnt a lie either. He needed to talk to him about some contracts that he suddenly remembered. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw two beautiful women walking in. The petite brunette in the simple black slip dress caught his eye immediately.

Do you see what I see? Johnny whispered in his ear.

Yeah," he replied not able to take his eyes off the two new arrivals.

Close your mouth the both of you, those two women are practically family, Francis laughed as the women came straight over to him and gave him hugs.

Jason, Johnny, I want you to meet two of my best friends, Carly said. This right here is Elizabeth, she said pushing the petite brunette that had caught Jason's interest in front of him. And this is Kelly, she said as Kel stepped confidently offered Johnny her hand. Johnny couldn't help but let his eyes linger over her in her blood red dress.
And this is Jason and Johnny, she smiled as Elizabeth shook Johnnys hand first and then Jason letting their handshake linger for a moment longer than necessary.

Johnny lifted Kellys hand to his lips Nice to meet you Kelly, he said smiling seductively towards her.

You can call me Kel; everyone does, she said smiling and winking playfully at him.

Okay Kel it is, Johnny laughed kissing her hand once more. She smiled at him and slipped her hand out of his grasp with a coy smile.

From across the room Carly heard Sonny telling Courtney to go home and change to which she refused saying that she was the most beautiful women in the penthouse. As Carly heard her response she laughed out loud unable to help herself.

Hey Sonny, Kelly and Elizabeth are here, Carly tapped on his shoulder.

Okay, He said distractedly as he glares at his sister. He would never understand her.

Carly looked at her friends and notice the attraction between Jason and Elizabeth as well as Kelly and Johnny. Great she thought that leaves Courtney out in the cold or maybe Francis she thought as she looked at the tall guard. But just as she looked at him he locked eyes with her and shook his head and mouthed Not in your life. At that moment she laughed. She knew that Francis never liked Courtney and never would.

Sonny let me go see if the food is ready, Carly offers.

No let ME go check.

She giggled Okay, okay. But it's not like I cooked it.
She looked at her friends that were in deep conversation with the guys which made her happy.

So Kel, Johnny said flashing a bright smile.

Kel simply said, Yeah.

So do you work or maybe go to school?

Well I got to PCU. I'm majoring in art; I'm a sculptor.

Oh so do you sculpt people? he asked curiously.

It depends, she smiled. If that person really intrigues me I might be inspired to do so.

Oh really? he said flirting openly.

Kelly, Johnny would love a sculpture of himself. He's pretty into himself, Jason added smiling as Johnnys cheek got red. In a low voice he said Thats what you get for leaving me with that wildebeest.

Well see, Kelly replied in a noncommittal tone of voice.

So Elizabeth what do you do?

I m going to school studying in the medicine, she smile shyly.

And shes an artist Kel added trying to help her shy friend out. You should see her beautiful paintings.

Oh their not that great, Liz said nudging her friend sharply with her elbow.

Ouch! Kel whispered harshly sending Liz a confused glare.

"So you want to be a doctor?" Jason smiled. Thats great. he took another swallow of his drink. For some reason this girl was making him feel something he hadnt felt before. Dang how he wanted to grab her and kiss her and taste her at least one time. He shook his head maybe just this one time and that would be enough and get her out of his system.

Im a waitress, Courtney added trying to stand in the middle of the men.

Good, Johnny said with a forced smile and then looked at Kel. So do you work as well as go to school? he asked looking at her lips as she smiled.

Jason looked at Johnny and the way he was looking at Kel and he nudges his friend telling him not to be so freaking obvious.

Yeah we both work at Kellys waitressing. Bobbie works around our schedules and the pay isn't bad. It helps us pay the rent among other things.

Oh so does that mean you two live together too? Jason asked curiously.

Yes, Kel and I have an apartment not far from here, Elizabeth smiling fondly at her friend and roommate.

Its more like a loft or studio, Kel added.

Thats great, I see why Carly is very fond of you two, Johnny added looking at the woman that enticed him. You two take care of each other which is great. Now a day's people take advantage of other people's kindness and generosity.

Carly is fond of me too, Courtney added trying to draw the attention back to her as she puts her hands on the back of the two men, which caught Jason and Johnny by surprise. I also have my OWN apartment. One of these days you both should come and check it out.

Liz looked at her friend who was glaring at the blond bimbo like she wanted to yank every strand of blond hair from her head.

Who asked you? Kel said sharply at the annoying blond.

Well Im just letting them know. See Jason, thats the reason I dont have many friends, because they get easily jealous of what I have and the way I look, she said putting her hand on Jasons chest and trying to lean on him.

Some people have to earn their living. Some people actually have honest jobs and dont go around prostituting themselves down on Courtland Street, Kel stated her voice even.

And who does that? Courtney frowned not getting it.

Uh you do!

See its people like you that says stupid things that give us WOMEN a bad name. Courtney said

Hmpft, Liz snickered. That is debatable!.

Which part? Jason asked trying to remove the blond womans hands from around his arm.

Liz looked straight into Courtneys eyes and said, The woman part Jason, because the way I see it, my money is that Courtney was born a man. She laughed as she saw Courtneys face redden. Why should Kelly get to have all the fun?

Why you- Courtney stopped as Kelly interrupted her.

She what? If you've got something to say.. Say it, Kel added stepping in front of Courtney. She wanted a piece of the woman since she found out that while Ric was dating Elizabeth he was sleeping with the blond woman in front of her. Elizabeth confronted them both and although Ric asked for forgiveness, Courtney acted like nothing ever happened between Ric and her.

Hey dinner is ready, Carly quickly said after coming into the room and seeing what was going on. Not because she was scared of Sonnys reaction but rather what Kel and Liz would do to Sonnys sister. She looked at Sonny and she knew he admired and loved both women. He also knew what kind of woman Courtney was. However, like he said to her many times; Blood is Blood and he needed to take care of his sister, and she understood him. That didn't mean she liked it or agreed but she understood.

The food is ready, Sonny came out as he saw that his sister was red and Kelly was standing in front of her with her hands clenched at her sides. Not good, not good at all. The food is ready lets take a seat and eat before it gets cold. Kelly, I made the marinara sauce that you liked so much."

"You know I love everything you cook, Sonny," Kel said with a smile.

"Carly and I love having you and Elizabeth here anytime," Sonny said giving her a dimpled smile. He was pleased that the tension that had hung so heavily in the room was dissipating.


After an hour of whining from Courtney because she couldnt sit near the guys and chatting with everybody about many things that no one cared about, Carly announced that dessert was ready. Liz looked at Courtney who was sitting next to her and then over at Kelly and shook her head in disbelief. Courtney never shut up, not for the whole entire meal. No one, not even Sonny could get a word in.

Kelly rolled her eyes and took a sip of her wine, she didn't care much for wine but she needed something to get through the dinner from hell. As Courtney had chattered on and on about her dog, Rosie, at dinner she had been sorely tempted to slam the blonds head into her plate of pasta just to shut her up. Unfortunately her mother had raised her right and she both respected and liked Sonny so she couldn't do it, at least not in front of him.

Elizabeth looked up and caught Jason staring at her and quick averted her gaze as her cheeks flushed. He really was good looking and the way he was looking at her made her knees feel like they were made of jell-o. She glanced over at Johnny and saw he was watching Kelly with avid interest as she traced the rim of her wine glass with one red tipped finger. But of course her friend knew the man was watching her and didn't care. Nothing fazed her. If she didn't loved Kelly dearly she'd hate her.

"And here's desert," Carly says coming out with plates piled with apple pie and vanilla ice cream.

"Oh my favorite," Courtney says clapping her hands and bouncing in her chair like a little kid.

"It used to be mine," Kelly mumbles under her breath and glares at the now offending desert.

Elizabeth stifled her laughter and took a bite of pie. "Mmm," She moans softly at the taste.

Hypnotized by the movement of her mouth Jason stared at Elizabeth as she took another bite of her apple pie and savored it. Right from the first moment he saw her he knew she had great lips. He watched as she swept her tongue and licked the pie off her full lips. He groaned that woman was going to kill him. He needed to think of something else but as he looked at Johnny he saw his friend staring at Kelly the same way he guessed he stared at Elizabeth. Oh hell this can't be good, he thought as he took a bite of his pie. Hopefully she was just an itch he needed to scratch and once that was over he could move on with his life. Could he? Hell yeah he could. He been attracted to many women before and after a couple of dates things would end and he would move on. But as he saw her licking her lips again, he knew that he would have lots of fun getting her out of his system.

After desert the men discussed some business over by the balcony doors as the women had coffee in the living room or in Carly's case; herbal tea. Elizabeth couldn't help herself from glancing over at Jason every few minutes from where she stood by the fireplace pretending to study the photographs she'd seen a dozen times. She watched how he talked to Sonny, his head lifted from across the room and she could feel his gaze. Her pulse picked up and her cheeks reddened. She felt like she got caught doing something bad. Just then Kel stepped in front of her blocking Jasons intense gaze.

Are you okay? You look flushed, She asked knowing very well what was making her friend blush.

Yeah I'm fine. Kel, I have to go I have school early morning.

Yeah lets go, remind me that I have to call Kip, but most likely he left messages at home asking if my family emergency was okay, she looked at a confused Elizabeth and shrugged.

Dont ask! she simply stated rolling her eyes.



Carly we are leaving," Elizabeth announced approaching her friend.

Yeah we have school tomorrow and you know thats our first priority, Kel added as she tucked her hair behind her ears.

Okay, do you want Francis to take you home? she asked looking at the tall man.
Just then Sonny and his associates approached the women.

I could take them home, Johnny offered.

No thanks, I brought my car, Kelly said with a polite smile. Johnny was good looking and a polite man or at least thats how he seemed. And she knew she could have him; tonight if she wanted him, but he just wanted a roll in the hay and there was no way she was going to mess with this man and give him exactly what he wanted. He looked too confident. Too cocky. As did Jason who she noticed couldnt keep his eyes off her friend. But there was something about Johnny that interested her very much. Too much. Although, thank you for the offer, maybe another time, She smiled and then looked at Sonny. Thank you for everything I had so much fun and the food was wonderful, as usual.

I need a ride home, Courtney announced as she smiled up at Jason.

I have some business with Sonny BUT Johnny can take you home since he has offered to play chauffer tonight."

Umm... Johnny stayed speechless as he frowned at his boss. How dare Jason push that blond bimbo on him? He looked at Kel and Elizabeth who were hiding what he guessed were smiles and sighed knowing he was stuck. It will be my pleasure, he smiled at Courtney laying on the charm. If Kelly didnt want the ride maybe she would get jealous that he was taking Courtney home instead.

Elizabeth looked at her friend and she knew that look. Kel was mad that Johnny gladly accepted to take Blondie home. She giggled and as she looked at her friend and saw the frown on Kels face.


Later as they arrived at their apartment:

So Kel, what did you think of Johnny and Jason? Liz asked as she slipped off her high heels and Kel was doing the same thing.

They were very handsome and pleasant I suppose.

Yeah werent they? Elizabeth sighed.

Liz, has cupid's arrow struck you? Kelly teased.

No" she shook her head.

No? I saw the way you and Jason were looking at each other. You looked like you wanted to strip him down and have him for desert instead of the pie."

No bug, you're exaggerating, she said calling her friend by her nickname.

Exaggerating? Me. Never, she laughed as she headed to her room to change.

So! I wasnt the only one sending some pretty hot looks across that table. I saw the face you made when Johnny accepted to take Corky home, someone was jealous, Elizabeth yelled from the living room knowing that little dig would get to her best friend.

Kel stuck her head out the door, That was heart burn, She said sticking out her tongue at Liz.

Yeah right, She replied as she checked the messages on the machine.

Hey you have 3 message from Kip, she said as she headed to her room.

Thanks, Kelly yelled.

Good night

Chapter 4


9 oclock

Elizabeth was nervous even though Kel assure her everything would be fine. She didnt know what could come of this if anything at all. Jason arrived right on time and brought her flowers which she put in a vase before leaving her apartment so they wouldn't die. He took her to dinner and they talked, she was having a wonderful time.

Lets go I want to show you a special place, he said offering her a hand.

Okay, she agrees putting her hand in his.
He paid the bill and they hopped on his motorcycle.


Vista Point

Its so beautiful Jason, she said with a sparkle in her eyes.

Im glad you like it, he responded, loving the way she admired things with her wide blue eyes.
He sat down beside her on the bench. I used to come here a lot, Jason started not letting the silent engulf them for long. Especially after my accident.

What accident? Elizabeth asked curiously.

Well my family had everything mapped out for my future. I was to be a doctor but when my brother got drunk I tried to stop him but he crashed against the tree thus causing me to lose my memory of the past and thats how I woke up as Jason Morgan.

I see and do you keep in contact with your family?
Well, he said looking up at the sky. I keep in touch with my grandmother and my sister who is in a rehab center right now.

Is your sister coming home soon?

No she still has some issues she needs to deal with.

Do you regret becoming the person you are instead of what your family wanted?

No I dont, he said looking in her eyes.

I hear people around town calling you The Borg, a cold unfeeling man.

Elizabeth, people see me how they want to see me. I do feel and I protect people that I love but I also do what has to be done, no questions asked. But to be honest with you; my life is dangerous and uncertain. I dont know where I will be tomorrow or the next day, I don't know if I will see the next day. That is something I choose, its not because I was force to this life or it was given to me easily, it was a decision I made. I choose this and no I dont regret anything in my life.

Well I do, I regret so much, because I was blind and so gullible, she sighed.

Are you talking about Lucky and Ric? he asked.

You know about them? she asked shocked.

Yes, I mean no. Well Carly mention how you were hurt, Jason said looking at her. She was looking straight ahead at nothing in particular. "She said not to hurt you because you had a rough life.

Well I guess I might as well tell you since you were so honest with me.

Well I want to. See my parents werent there for me. Four years ago they left me here and took off traveling but before that I knew they never wanted me. I was the one mistake in their otherwise perfect lives."

How can parents not want their child? Jason asked confused.

Oh believe me they didnt want me, they even told me that I was a package they didnt want or need. So they left me here with my grandmother. That year I was raped and I had so many problems. I met a great guy and at that time I though he was everything I wanted in a man. He helped me get over the rape and helped me move on, loved me like nobody had ever loved me before. Then he was taken or so I thought. A bad woman faked his death and when he finally came back he was confused about his feelings for me. So next thing I know he breaks up with me and I find him with my sister in bed. she shrugs. I guess it wasnt meant to be.

Wow he said thinking about what Elizabeth confessed to him. He must of meant a lot to you, He said brushing a strand of her hair from her eyes.

Yeah he did, although now hes just a friend.

But theres more isnt there? Jason asked.

Yeah, she sighed. Not to long after that incident I met Ric.

Sonnys lawyer? he asked frowning not able to picture her with the too slick paper pusher.

Yeah but at that time he wasnt Sonnys lawyer. We became friends and that lead to us dating. After a while he proposed and I said yes, she said looking at him. I thought he loved me, I thought he was the man for me, but not too long after his proposal I found him in bed with Courtney.

Courtney? Jason frowned.

Yeah that blond bimbo, she spit out as she looked up at the clear sky and closed her eyes. I thought I found happiness, I thought that love was meant for me too. That there was somebody out there in this world that could love me for me.

There is Elizabeth, you just have to be patient, Jason said rubbing her back. "So what happened?

Well I ended things with Rick and put Courtney in her place. She laughed remembering how she punched Courtney while she was drunk giving the blond a bloody nose and split lip. If it hadnt been for Kelly pulling her off the blond women, she would have been in jail because surely she would have killed her. She sighed and then she frowned. I dont hate that woman but I dont like her either. She just opened my eyes and showed me who Ric truly was, she said disgusted. But you know what hurts the most is knowing that you trusted a person, gave them your heart just so they could go and betray you, she said with a sour note. But you know whats ironic about everything?

He shook his head.

I still believe in love, that there is somebody out there that will love me and be my lover, my husband, my best friend, she smiled weakly.

There is, Jason said.

Im not telling you this because I want your pity or for you to be nice to me just because you feel sorry for me, she snapped standing up and looking at him. It shouldnt matter what people thought about her and she didnt really care. But then again Jason wasnt just anybody. But nobody lied to be polite, and she already been through that a couple of months ago when she found Courtney and her fianc, Ric, in bed. She looked at the men standing in front of her and she didnt see pity, she saw desire and something else. Was that love or just lust she thought to herself as she stared at Jasons mouth.

Im not saying it out of pity, I admire you a lot, because even if you have been hurt, you still have hope, Jason said as he leaned closer to Elizabeth. He felt the desire run through his body like he had been waiting a kiss from this woman forever. He felt that if he didnt kissed her he would go crazy. You're so beautiful, he said as he leaned towards her. He was wrong, as soon as his lips touched hers he realized nothing had prepared him for her soft sweet lips that fit perfectly with his. Yes sweet enticing lovable, yup he thought to himself as he pulled her closer, the kiss wasnt going to be enough for him. Her scent, her sweet scent clouded his mind to even think about the feeling that was surging in his heart. Because deep down he knew that having her once wasnt going to be enough and that realization alone didnt scared him like he thought it would. As he pulled her closer he opened her mouth gently and explored her sweetness. He wanted her more than anything in the world, and thats when he knew that she was different. He slowly ended the kiss and let his forehead leaned against hers.

You know Ive never met a woman like you, he whispered trying to get air in his lungs.

"Hmm?

I Umm, he said caressing her cheek. "I want to continue seeing you, if thats okay with you?

Yes I would like that.
